This is a short graphic novel based on Agatha Christie's novel of the same name. Hercule Poirot is called to France by a Mr Renaud who fears for his life. Unfortunately, the man is killed before Poirot arrives. Another murder follows not long after and it is up to Poirot to solve the crimes.

I picked up this book cheaply at a library sale and thought I'd give it a go. However, I found it a bit confusing. There were a lot of characters to keep track of, and it jumped around a bit. Part of the problem could have been that I read it in bits and pieces, so it was hard to keep the plot in my head. But it's also probably the nature of the genre. When you condense a full-length book into a short graphic novel, some linkages between scenes are bound to be cut. I feel like I need to read it again, but I didn't enjoy the story enough to want to do that.

The illustrations were good and gave it a 'noir' feel. If you like Agatha Christie, but would like a short read, you might enjoy this book.

picked this up on accident and honestly I don't think this has spoilt the original version for me. I did like the art style, especially on Poirot, but the women looked the same and Hastings wasn't handsome at all :/

Picked this up at the library, I like Agatha Christie and graphic novels so I was curious to try it, the art style was interesting and I ESPECIALLY liked the design of Poirot, nice round head and thick moustache 🥸 The story was pretty confusing though, as some people have said, a lot of characters to keep track of and scenes disjointed, probably from cramming a full book into a short graphic novel, but then I didn’t have any problems with the other two I picked up, maybe this book had a more complicated plot and when the murderer was revealed I was like “Wait, who?” Again, having trouble keeping track of the characters - So yeah, two stars, sorry to give it such a low score especially when it has such nice art but I just couldn’t understand it, which is kind of the point in a murder mystery 😅

Read the book and enjoyed the artwork. I've read other adaptations of Christie's work into graphic novels and this follows similar features, but with a lot more holes in the plot. The continuity between sections could have been improved. Someone more familiar with the story would probably have automatically filled in the data but not for someone new to the story. Will continue to look out for more.

Enjoyable enough, and I like the art, but the resolution of the mystery always gets crammed in at the end in these graphic adaptations and doesn't feel very satisfying (and not fully explained!).

Not recommended to readers who have not read any of Agatha Christie novels or this title in particular. That graphic novel is very watered down and incoherent to the uninitiated.

Talk about a complicated plot! I have tried to read the normal novel version, but failed and I can see why. One and a half stars for the graphics, half a star for the plot. Not one of a Agatha Christie's best.

The Indonesian edition was very poorly translated. I have no clue what's going on although I have read the original novel. Shame on you Gramedia!

It had a great storyline. But was very confusing and too fast paced. I wish it was easier to understand.

A charming little version of Agatha Christie's novel. I thought the illustrations were charming and I thought Poirot looked adorable. A lovely introduction to the famous Belgium detective!
