I never thought I'd see the day that I would 1 heart some cracky fluff. Cracky fluff with an androgynous and crossdressing character no less!
This is a sad sad day indeed, so let's make this short.
I've never read anything by Tara Lain before and I find her writing style almost cacophonous. It's choppy with odd little asides randomly thrown in that are usually hokey and sometimes borderline offensive. Bottom line: we didn't suit.
The plot didn't make a whole lot of sense and what did was cheesy and OTT. I didn't understand why Ally was on the run from his father nor did I think his henchmen would have a difficult time locating him after he "escaped" on a private plane bound for San Francisco. Bottom line: everything was resolved quickly, easily and unrealistically which, honestly, is kind of par for the course with this series. Had I connected to it or the characters this level of reality suspension would likely have been a non-issue. But.
It's not that I expect depth in my cracky fluff, I don't. But I do want at least a bit of something substantiative about the characters. Both Ally and Taylor's characterizations felt flimsy and one-dimensional.
The dialogue is stilted to begin with, so I hate to blame Solo, but by the same token, I don't think his narration helped with regard to my enjoyment. His delivery is perky, punchy and peppy which, granted, is fitting for this prose but it somehow made the whole thing worse.
I never connected to this story and found myself listening halfheartedly rather than engagingly, but we all have authors and styles that resonate with us. This didn't suit me but Lain has a unique style all her own and there is an audience for it. I would encourage anyone even remotely interested to look at other reviews before deciding.

Re-read Ocotber 2019
I didn't enjoy this as much as I did 3 years ago. I'm going with 3 stars instead of 4 now.
And how could I forget that Tara Lain writes the worst sex scenes ever. I've never read sex scenes as unsexy as she can write them.
I've enjoyed audios by John Solo before, but here it didn't quite work for me. He did a fairly good job until halfway he suddenly changed Taylor's friend Harry's voice. He suddenly had the voice John Solo had previously used for Christopher, Harry's boyfriend. And then near the end I guess he caught on and halfway through a sentence he changed it back. That was weird. Just like the voice of a female character, Gretchen, who suddenly didn't have a female souding voice anymore when John Solo used his regular speaking voice for the rest of the conversation.
The story itself also got on my nerves this time. While I enjoyed the fluffiness before, now I was pretty bored. And the whole Ally is a woman, is a man, is a woman, is a man thing just didn't work for me this time.
I guess I shouldn't have tried to re-read this.

That could be a bit of a problem since he’s gay. But he needs the money to build shelters for homeless kids, so he decides he needs to hire someone.
Taylor flies to Las Vegas to meet up with a girl from an escort agency, who he plans to proposition. When she doesn’t show up, he has no idea what to do. He has only one other option and that is asking the cute maid he met at the hotel.
Taylor is seriously confused when he is actually attracted to Ally, the maid. Ally is hiding from her father so she agrees to marry Taylor and fly back with him to San Francisco.
It isn’t until they’re married and back in San Francisco that Taylor finds out Ally is actually Alessandro. He was getting worried he was turning straight, or at least bi. The two of them now only need to keep fooling Taylor’s father, or he won’t get the money.
I was happy to see these men finally getting it on once all secrets are revealed. Taylor didn’t make a huge fuss over Ally being a man. Especially since he really wanted her/him anyway.
This was super cute. I loved that there was no angst to speak of. Such a sweet story.

This is my first book in the Dreamspun Desires series and I have to say it was thoroughly delightful. 😊 What a promising series and what a sweet and fluffy read! Loved it! 😍
Taylor has been out and proud since he turned 18 and left home. Being a son of a billionaire and a very valuable member of the company, he has nothing to worry about in his life. Plus, he’s getting 50 million dollars as inheritance from his late grandfather as soon as he turns 25. But there is a stipulation in the will that he didn’t notice before. And when he finally noticed it, it’s on the eve of his 25th birthday. 😁 Now, he’s going to Vegas, trying to find a woman who is willing to marry him in a few hours for some millions before midnight. Will he luck out and find the perfect girl although he’s gay? 😉
Ally, the hotel maid aka the son of a Brazilian hotel magnate, has been on the run for 3 weeks. To escape the grasp of his father who’s trying to marry him off to a woman, he’s been pretending as a woman and working as a hotel maid. 😁 And when Taylor approached him thinking him a woman and offered him to marry for a few million dollars, Ally saw a way out from Las Vegas. 😂 He didn’t want to deceive Taylor and marry him as a woman. But he likes Taylor and there’s no escape from the desert and his father. Whatever happens, let’s just hope Taylor won’t find out that Ally actually is a man.
Taylor’s body is in total confusion because he’s fiercely attracted to Ally and he’s never been attracted to a woman before. Is it the androgynous beauty of Ally or that divine voice that caught his heart? 😉 Taylor is seriously having confusion on his sexuality before he finally found out that Ally actually is a man. 😂 Although Taylor felt betrayed at first, he actually got relieved and was ecstatic about Ally. And Ally suggested that they should still play the charade to inherit that 50 million dollars. After all, that money is intended for building youth centers. 👏 The question is, can Taylor and Ally still lie themselves that this marriage is a fake? Will they be able to convince other people that they are a heterosexual happily married couple? What is more important in the end? Love or money? 😉
I loved this book a lot. It’s fluffy, fun and interesting. Very low angst and insta-love. I appreciate the author writing about the beauty and dressing routine of drag queens in details. 👏 I adore drag queens. They are powerful, beautiful and magnificent creatures IMO. So it’s nice to see the detailed descriptions of these fierce queens. The sex is hot and cute. 😍 And as how fairytales work, it all worked out very well in the end. 😁 And epilogue was a one very cute fluffball. Sweetness overload! 🍭🍬🍭 I’n sure I’ll definitely read more of Dreamspun Desires series. 😉

I do believe this might be my fave book in the Dreamspun series so far. I found it cute as hell, and I love a man that dresses up just because he freaking can. This book had secret riches, a surprise dick, and two young dudes just falling in love. It was adorable!!
Taylor Fitzgerald is on the cusp of his 25th birthday and looking forward to it because he will inherit 50 million that his grandfather left him. What he didn’t expect was that his inheritance came with a little extra something, he has to be married in order to receive the money. Just one day until his birthday and Taylor has to find a wife fast, only problem is that he’s very much gay and marrying a man won’t do. Taylor needs the money to do some good, so what’s a man to do when he needs a wife? He’ll have to pay someone to fill the role for a bit.
With a plan to put into action Taylor makes his way to Vegas, but his plans don’t fall through and all he has left is to convince the pretty maid with the beautiful voice to accept his marriage proposal. Ally May is beautiful and Taylor is drawn to her which he can’t quite explain because he’s never been attracted to a woman, when Ally accepts the proposal and they get married everything seems to be falling into place. All that’s left is to convince the lawyers that this marriage is a love match, and to convince his dick that he isn’t attracted to women (his dick ain’t listening).
Ally is enchanting and Taylor is very much under her spell. She’s beautiful, charming, intelligent, and sexy as hell and she has everyone believing their little charade. Taylor is very much close to getting his 50mil, but Ally’s surprise penis puts a dent in their plans and suddenly the attraction makes total sense. Can Taylor get his money's worth or is the future bleak for him and his wife now turned husband? Well Taylor is willing to go down with the ship and enjoy Ally’s company in the process because a search for a wife gave him the husband he never knew he needed.
Seriously, this book was fecking cute. There isn’t anything really plotty, and it’s not great but it is a feel good read. Tailor Made has that kiss the frog turn to a Prince vibe but with a twist (kiss the wife turn to a Prince). Throw in the asshole dad, the ever in your business lawyers, and the neat coming together ending and you have a nice well balanced read. For a moment there I thought they were going to not have the money and I almost cried, that would have upset me so much and I don’t even know why 😭 sometimes you gotta have the money for the kids.
Overall, a sweet read with a happily ever after. Loved the concept of a man who isn’t afraid to dress up a little (well a whole lot in this case) there was even tucking. Taylor Maid was very sweet!!

This story was all things fun and frivolous, with a premise squarely located two clicks north of reality, floating around up there on an angst-free cloud of cheesy romance and fluffy goodness. I’m certainly not complaining!
The marriage of convenience trope was explored in a fresh and entertaining way here, with MC Taylor Fitzgerald suddenly realising that in order to receive his late Grandfather’s inheritance (of fifty-fricken-million) he must marry a woman before his twenty-fifth birthday. A few small problems include, but are not limited to, the fact that Taylor is a) as gay as the day is long (and twice as sunny), and b) turning twenty-five TOMORROW. So, as you can imagine, the young chap has his work cut out for him.
Taylor hastily heads to Vegas (from San Fran) to procure a wife! There he meets and is enchanted by one Ally May, a maid working at the hotel Taylor is staying at. Ally is sweet, shy and intelligent, with looks to kill and a singing voice that moves Taylor to his core and even makes him question his sexuality. Throwing caution to the wind, Taylor explains his predicament to Ally and asks her to help him out by being his wife. Although initially hesitant, as any rational gal would be in such a situation, Ally accepts Taylor’s proposal and the two get hitched at once.
Now, Taylor and Ally just have to prove their marriage of convenience was actually a love match in order for Taylor’s greedy father and his lawyers to hand over his (rightful) inheritance. Easy, right? Wrong! As it turns out, Ally isn’t just trying to convince everyone that she’s Taylor’s new happy wife, but she’s also hiding the fact that she is actually a he!
High jinks ensue…
As I said, this one was based far from reality and I had to suspend my disbelief on multiple occasions in order to enjoy myself, but enjoy myself I did. Taylor Maid is 100% romantic and fun, and I recommend it to anyone who is in need of some mindless romantic fluff.

Ooooooo!! This was SUCH a sweet story. Even though, as Taylor said, the story was more conducive to be featured in a Hollywood movie, the exact same reason charmed me soooo much! I love, loove, lurved both Taylor and Ally!!<3

I loved this one. I thought Taylor and Ally were so sweet together. I love these type of stories, where they have to get married for some reason. I love this series from Dreamspinner.

Meanwhile, after a night out with friends Taylor learns that "Ally May" is really Alessandro Macias, son of a tough Brazilian hotel magnate and that he is not only androgynous but also gay! Taylor can't help but be giddy when he realizes that he was not in-fact turning straight but simply reacting to his gorgeous husband it seems.
Now the two have to decide do they continue the charade or do they come clean? What about these feelings developing between the two? Taylor also has to factor in why Alessandro was so eager to marry him after turning him down the first time and why he was in Las Vegas working as a female maid. All of these truths and more come to light as Taylor and Allesandro realize that their relationship was "Taylor Made" and perfect for them!
Overall, it was a cute story. Another installment to Dreamspinner Press' "Dreamspun Desires" series, it was just lacking the angst and conflict that I have come to thrive on in my books. If you are looking for a quick light-hearted read, then this is just the perfect story for you.

This was a short quick read that I liked. When Taylor Fitzgerald over hears his father talking about a clause in his grandfather's will that he has to be married to a woman in order to get his 50 million dollars he rushes to Las Vegas to get married before his 25th birthday. While there his plans fall through when he hears the maid singing he meets her and thinks that she is pretty but he can't figure out why he is so attracted to her. Ally May also has problems with her father so she is on the run so when she agrees to marry Taylor so he can get his money it also helps her. This was a really sweet read too me turns out Ally is really a male by the name of Alessandro Macias, son of a tough Brazilian hotel magnate who is trying to force him to marry a woman. When Ally is kidnapped Taylor will do anything to get him back including giving up the money. I have read this author before and I love reading her cute stories. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

Another fabulous installment from the Dreamspun Desires series, and my first foray into the writings of Tara Lain.
On the day before his 25th birthday, Taylor Fitzgerald overhears his father during a phone call and figures out that his grandfather's will has a little clause that could cost him $50 million. Shocked and in disbelief, Taylor hops on a plane to Las Vegas to tie the required knot just in time.
Except the escort he hired to marry him is delayed, and Taylor is desperate. Enter the maid from his hotel. In dire need to marry, Taylor blurts out his offer. "Marry me."
Ally, the maid, is a bit shocked, but agrees. They marry in a hasty ceremony, just before Taylor's father's lawyer shows up to question the validity.
See, Taylor is gay. Has been, and everyone knows it, including his father, who apparently thinks that the clause in the will gives him all kinds of rights he doesn't have.
But Ally is hiding a secret. She, well, he is really Alessandro Macias, heir to a hotel empire, and running from his father's idea of forcing him to marry a nice Brazilian girl. Taylor offers Ally a way out.
This was a fun read. Taylor questions his attraction to the maid, whom he assumes is female, and doesn't quite understand why his nether regions are perking up when he gets close to the girl (who's not a girl at all). When they get back to Taylor's home, and he takes Ally to the gay club to meet his friend (one of whom is a drag queen), the truth comes out, and Ally comes clean.
Then sexy times happen. And then Daddy Dearest wants to meet Ally. That scene was utter perfection, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Of course, then the author turns up the drama dial all the way, and we have a kidnapping, a reclaiming, and a confrontation with Daddy where he gets a dose of his own medicine.
As I said, this was a fun read. Super OTT, as expected, slightly kitschy, with a conclusion that I saw coming a mile away, and that nonetheless left me with a huge smile on my face.

I am not sure how long it has been since I have read such a sweet romance. Tara Lain’s latest novel, Taylor Maid, is one of the stories offered in the new Dreamspinner Desires line. While there may have been a few plot glitches here and there, one cannot deny that the combination of Ally and Taylor was romance gold and Tara Lain certainly knows how to deliver.
The undeniable chemistry between Ally and Taylor made this novel shine. Their moments together were sweet and tender hearted and you must be ready for some sugar when it comes to reading these types of stories for they are unapologetically romantic and sappy. This novel was a lark—not meant to be an earth shattering mystery or even an in depth character study, rather it was written for sheer entertainment and, in that vein, it succeeded.

I'm in Tara Lain's vibes.
I'm enjoying this one more than I expected. Funny how author's can 'read' what's on your mind and you don't even know each other in real life.
I had this story in my head for a while, but, you know, I can't write (poor me).
So, when I read this, I really enjoyed the story. It was funny, fluffy and cheesy, with a little pinch at the end of the book (I've anticipated this from Tara, she's a ending torturer all the time).
Kinda story I enjoyed when I'm so relax and alone, at home.
This is a definite Harlequiny story, all the dreams come true, you know.
So, if you're not into this kind of story, this one's not for you.
But this is my comfort read, and recommended for you who's seek for light, fluffy read.

This was just sweetness overload! I really enjoyed reading this one! I loved Taylor and Ally so much and their love-story is just oozing with cuteness! It’s obviously a play from Chris O’Donnell’s The Bachelor and I just adore everything about it! It also reminds me of Sinders and Ash from the author’s other series. Remember Sinders penchant for wearing his own designs?
This was my first from the Dreamspun Series and I’ve read not so many good reviews from the earlier books so I’m kinda worried on picking this up and I’m sure glad I did because it was everything I needed at the moment – something feel good, something really sweet and truly romantic! I highly recommend this one!

This was a fun, fluffy, and light romance that requires your go along with the more unrealistic aspects of the story to embrace its unusual premise. I was surprised at the extent that both main characters would put up with the overall charade, but it was a fun addition to this light romance. I have never read a romance with this particular trope before, so that was an exciting first for me.
Overall I enjoyed this story and the two main characters, they were both likable, had great chemistry and their relationship progressed naturally. This is a fun read that I fully recommend to anyone looking for something a little different.

I liked this story; it wasn't great but it was nice. I was more intrigued with how Taylor and Ally would pull off their farce than the couple themselves. I did like that Taylor was so proud to be gay and I liked his "straight for you" and "bi for you" play on words.
I never felt vested in this couple and the sex didn't do anything for me but the story was pleasant enough and it was a quick read.

This kind of shit really pisses me off! Authors, please, when you think about putting a character from another country in your books, do some research. Do not just throw the name of the said country on google e put whatever appears in your story. You see, I'm a brazilian girl. And I'm really sad to see this is a Tara Lain's book. Because i like her books a lot.
First of all there is the whole portuguese/spanish confusion, Macias is not a Brazilian name, nor Carlo. Alessandro is, I'll give you that. Salvadoran are people from El Salvador. Which is another country. People from Salvador - Brazil are know as soteropolitanos. And there isn't a word in english for it as far as I know. So moqueca and acaraje can't be salvadoran food, because they're from here. I don't want to be a pain in the ass about those details. So I'll stop here.
What really bothers me are things like this:
"In Brazil he could marry Ally off, and no one would even think to check the US."
Really? We do have laws here you know! In fact getting married here requires a lot of documents. It's not like you present some ID e get it over with. If a person is already married in another country, that marriage is valid here as well. And would be a crime to lie and marry someone else without a divorce first. I do think the author knows that and meant no offense, but the way it is in the story it seems like we're a bunch of ignorant people in the middle of nowhere or just living in la la land. Or maybe I'm just too sensitive.
Rant over.
But next time ask things to people from the place you're writing about. There are many of us here on GR. And I'm sure everyone would like to help.

I loved the plot it was something different for me. The story was sweet and I fell in love with the MC's from the start.

Whilst this story doesn't always make sense it was still a bit of light escapism that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the 'queen' aspect which wasn't over the top. The MCs are adorable together and we of course get our mandatory HEA.

He is four hours away from the day of his birthday, and the only place he can think of to find a bride and get married is at Vegas. Only his escort gets into a car accident on the way to the hotel, and his plan is foiled. Until Ally. Ally is a maid at the hotel, and she does weird things to his gay dick. He’s suddenly proposing to her, and is not sad about that at all, which is confusing him, because he’s never reacted sexually to a woman before, and assures Ally, in his sales pitch that she does not have to have sex with him, ever.
Ally is hiding from his father, and sees an opportunity to escape Las Vegas, and hide out in San Francisco with Taylor, until his father stops trying to force him to marry a woman. This could all work out perfectly, as long as Taylor doesn’t find out that Ally is really a man.
This story was light and fluffy, with an alright premise. I enjoyed Taylor scrambling around trying to find a wife within 4 hours. It was completely ridiculous, and not believable at all, but you know, it was what it was. It made the story pretty funny really. From him asking his buddy if his sister will marry him for five million dollars, to trying to find an escort to meet him at the hotel so he can convince her to marry him and live with him for a few months, to make it look like the love match his grandfather wanted for him.

Another delightful read by Tara Lain!
I didn't know what to expect when I read the blurb and was pleasantly surprised. It's a really sweet story and they both seem to be made for each other.
The beginning of the book was quite stressful, Taylor's search for a wife stressed me out almost as much as him. And then came Ally's escape, which was again, stressful. That added just to the entertainment though.
Sure it's weird that nobody realized he is a man but like the author said in her authors note, you just have to suspend your disbelief. I devoured this book and I'm really glad I read it!

March 1, 2016I am in love with the Dreamspun Desires series. Seriously, each book I read from it tickles and tantalizes me in the best way and I simply swoon over the stories.
Taylor Maid was totes adorbs. As the blurb implies, Taylor is set to inherit a cool 50 million from his late grandfather on his twenty-fifth birthday but upon overhearing his father on the phone, he checks the fine print on the will and sees that he must have a love match marriage… to a woman… by his 25th birthday to get the money. In a panic, Taylor flies to Las Vegas to marry and escort when plans go south. Escort is a no show but there happens to be a stunning ginger maid bringing him fresh towels with the voice of an angel. In a last minute ditch effort, Taylor asks the maid, Ally to marry him, and she agrees.
Now… the fun part of this whole story is the wait for Taylor to either figure out that Ally is a man or for Ally to reveal himself as a man and I loved the wait. It was total foreplay watching Taylor wonder if he was truly gay or just straight or bi for Ally. I loved it as he got turned on with Ally, I loved watching him watch Ally and when they have their first kiss??? Oh Taylor!
So, Taylor marries Ally and the form a plan to show his family that he had a blip in his sexuality and married a woman for love. It’s a good thing that Ally is such a fantabulous actress because she makes everyone fall in love so quickly.
Now, I won’t go into much with the story because the deception and reveal is part of the fun. You do get both POV’s so you know how Ally feels about Taylor and the deception but I have to say I adored the story. It was fun and I had theories and my theories were right and I love that they were.
There are a few musical numbers and songs mentioned in the book that just help nail the story. The scene at Coco’s was my favorite and I could see Coco and Ally dueling as they fought like Sisters over their men and the song Ally sings for Taylor at his father’s house… *sigh* The Music Man is one of my favorite musicals and I absolutely loved the addition of that song.

Now… the fun part of this whole story is the wait for Taylor to either figure out that Ally is a man or for Ally to reveal himself as a man and I loved the wait. It was total foreplay watching Taylor wonder if he was truly gay or just straight or bi for Ally. I loved it as he got turned on with Ally, I loved watching him watch Ally and when they have their first kiss??? Oh Taylor!
So, Taylor marries Ally and the form a plan to show his family that he had a blip in his sexuality and married a woman for love. It’s a good thing that Ally is such a fantabulous actress because she makes everyone fall in love so quickly.
Totally androgynous and absolutely devastating.
Now, I won’t go into much with the story because the deception and reveal is part of the fun. You do get both POV’s so you know how Ally feels about Taylor and the deception but I have to say I adored the story. It was fun and I had theories and my theories were right and I love that they were.
There are a few musical numbers and songs mentioned in the book that just help nail the story. The scene at Coco’s was my favorite and I could see Coco and Ally dueling as they fought like Sisters over their men and the song Ally sings for Taylor at his father’s house… *sigh* The Music Man is one of my favorite musicals and I absolutely loved the addition of that song.
Taylor Maid was a fun and yes over the top story of boy meets girl who happens to be a boy and the boys fall head over heels in love. It’s a story of grumpy fathers, amazing friends and the true testament of the heart wanting what the heart wants, even if the heart doesn’t know it wants it.

Taylor is your stereotypical rich gay boy - his life is about having fun, being free, and enjoying the delectable men surrounding him. Unfortunately, his failure to read his grandfather’s will and his own father’s scheming have left him with less than 24 hours to get married or forfeit said inheritance. One caveat - it must be a love match.
Allesandro (Ally to the wide world) is on the run from his father who wants him to marry, settle down, and set up life working in dad’s hotel kingdom. Part of his disguise is to dress as a woman, wear contacts, and hide in a hotel not belonging to his father where he works as a maid.
When circumstances put these two together, hijinks and steam fly. Taylor is baffled by his attraction to this “woman,” but when she agrees to marry him, he thinks he’s gotten the best of both worlds. He decides that he must be bi...though only for Ally...and he’s okay with that. Now they just have to prove to Taylor’s family (and their attorneys) that they’re wonderfully in love, and life will be perfect - until Taylor learns the truth and Ally is exposed. Will they find their HEA? Can they have an HEA with two families working toward their own ends--and Taylor and Ally caught in the middle?
The plot of this is cute, the story is adorable, and the pacing is good. As is typical with the Dreamspun Desires series, there is little angst and a lot of feel good fluffies. I enjoyed the drama these two characters created amongst themselves and laughed frequently at the bizarre situations they found themselves in. The peripheral characters were engaging and fun, helping to round out the story into a richer experience. Four stars of fun!

Okay – put on your “suspend your disbelief glasses”- because this story is absolutely wonderful if absolutely unbelievable ☺
Taylor finds out at the very last second that in order to inherit $50 million he needs to be married before his 25th birthday – which is tomorrow!
He scrambles to find an answer, but when that answer ends up with a broken leg, he’s left to find a miracle. The miracle shows up in the form of the hotel maid who happens to need an escape from “her” father and marriage will do the trick.
The two agree to be married right away and run back to California to perpetuate the image of a happily married het couple. Until… well… stuff happens and then other things are revealed… and feelings … and hot smexy times… and lots of really fun story telling!
I loved this version of the “shot gun marriage” trope and I highly recommend it to fans of guys in drag, evil fathers, nefarious lawyers, sweet but clueless guys with big hearts and millionaires.

Taylor Maid is a very cute story, marrying the maid to inherit money. But boy did Taylor get a surprise! The characters in this book were perfectly described for this story. Loved the connection that Taylor and Ally had almost immediately upon meeting.
This book was fun and had me chuckling at points. The story wasn't rushed at all nor dragged out, it was just enough to give you a cute read. Both their dad's are a problem throughout the book but Taylor and Ally get their happily ever after regardless of their dad's.
Definitely a very good read. You won't be disappointed in this book at all, I highly recommend it if your looking for a quick light read.

The story is fast told, the blurb already says everything but the way Tara Lain is building her story is so funny and hilarious you are captured from the first page.
Taylor is a rich son and working with his father in a shared company. Named father let Taylor believe he is in need of a woman to marry - unfortunately before his 25ths birthdays. When Taylor is getting desperate and flies to Las Vegas he never would have imagined he met Ally - normally Alessandro.
The story is a bit unventional, the focus lies around the half the book of the description of Ally as a "woman", of course the reader is aware, "she" is a he, but even if the feminine pronouns are used and Taylor is wondering why he is so attracted by "her", you have a huge grin on the face. :D
Fitting to the female is normally a man (in a non transgender) topic, we have with Taylor's friend Christopher a Drag Queen. This gives the book also a humorous note, and it is clear that Tara Lain isn't mocking anybody. In fact she is combining the funny basis of the story with this element, gives it a good grounding.
Taylor is a really lovable main character, he is desperate in search, doesn't need a wive because he want one - he is gay and never had interest in a woman before - but he wants to use the money for building homes for children in help. His generosity is very huge and you lose your heart as soon as you know this.
Ally is presented as a maid, working in the hotel Taylor is visiting. "Her" red hair, the fake glasses and the fascinating voice is what capures Taylor right from the start. It's amusing but also very touching, what Ally does. Alessandro called as a man, is hiding from his father and gets the chance he needs when Taylor is in search for a wife. Soon both's chemistry is sparking, and Ally's androgynous body hidden behind women's clothes drives Taylor crazy.
I really had a great time reading the book. It's funny, the character deal out of generosity and worry for each other and near friends and closer family.
The minor character like Taylor's father are partly annyoing, they really "play" their roles.
I would recommend this book reader who love to get a smooth introduction in the gay romance genre, who formerly read M/F before. With the "fake wife" topic it should be a great bridge.
Also this gets a recommendation for all those reader who love funny, hilarious stories with "traps", people who claim they are the opposite gender without having the transgender topic - which is another recommendation, to read books from this perspective. :)

Taylor ist immer verzweifelter und reist nach Las Vegas, um eine Lösung für die irrsinnige Forderung zu finden. Dort hätte er nie gedacht auf Ally zu treffen - der normalerweise Alessandro heißt.

Dieses Thema gibt dem Buch eine humorvolle, lustige Note und es ist klar, dass Tara Lain niemanden lächerlich macht. Im Gegenteil, sie kombiniert die lustige Basis der Geschichte mit diesem Element, gibt ihr eine gute Untermalung.
Taylor is ein wirklich liebenswerter Charakter, er ist verzweifelt auf der Suche nach einer Frau, braucht aber keine weil er selbst eine will - er ist homosexuell und hatte niemals zuvor Interesse an einer Frau - aber er will das finanzielle Erbe dafür benutzen, Häuser für Kinder in Not zu errichten. Seine Großzügigkeit ist ein dominanter Charakterzug und man verliert schnell sein Herz an ihn, sobald man das über ihn erfährt.
Ally wird als Zimmermädchen eingeführt, das in dem Hotel arbeitet, in dem Taylor unterkommt. "Ihr" rotes Haar, die falsche Brille und ihre faszinierende Stimme sind das, was Taylor gleich zu Beginn in den Bann ziehen. Es ist amüsant aber auch berührend, was Ally macht. Alessandro, wie er als Mann genannt wird, versteckt sich vor seinem Vater und bekommt die Chance, die er braucht, als Taylor auf der Suche nach einer Frau ist. Schnell knistert es zwischen den beiden heftig und Allys androgyner Körper, versteckt unter Frauenkleidung, treibt Taylor in den Wahnsinn und macht ihn an, wie nie zuvor.
Ich hatte wirklich eine Menge Spaß mit dem Buch. Es ist lustig, die Figuren handeln aus Großzügigkeit und Sorgen füreinander, für enge Freunde und die enge Verwandtschaft.
Die Nebenfiguren wie Taylors Vater sind stellenweise und zur Teilen nervig, sie "spielen" ihre Rollen perfekt.
Ich würde das Buch Lesern empfehlen, die eine sanfte Einführung in das Gay Romance-Genre suchen, die zuvor M/F (heterosexuelle) Stories gelesen haben. Mit der Thematik "falsche Frau", sollte es eine gute Brücke bilden.
Auch bekommt das Buch eine Empfehlung für alle Leser, die lustige, humorvolle Stories mit sogenannten "Traps" lieben, wo Figuren behaupten, sie wären das andere Geschlecht, ohne die Transgenderthematik zu haben - welches ein Thema ist, welches ich auch empfehle würde, da mal in Buchform reinzuschauen. :)

Sweet Spring Reading!
Taylor Made is the perfect book for light Springtime reading. It features a fake marriage that isn't so fake, a case of mistaken identity, and drag queens - lots and lots of drag queens! Taylor and Ally are characters you'll really want to root for, and it was so much fun seeing them get their much-deserved Happy Ever After!

This was a fun read. Pretty good HEA too! On to book #6 although according to Amazon, this was book #6! Who knows, definitely recommended.
