What if the man you’re in love with isn’t the one you plan to marry? Wynonna Calhoun is a barrel racing champion and reality TV star. She’s sick of both of those roles and is ready to settle down like her brothers and work more with her horses. She’s also newly engaged, but everyone’s saying her fiancé isn’t right for her. Even the ranch foreman, Maverick, has put in his two cents on the topic, and he has no right when he avoids her like she’s just rolled in manure. No freakin’ way is Mav letting Wynonna marry an asshole like that. Her daddy would rise from his grave if he knew, and Mav won’t let the Calhoun princess make the mistake of walking down the aisle with a man who’s soft. Especially since Mav knows all too well that she likes ‘em rough. Mav struggles to keep his hands off the brazen redheaded mistress of sass, but he’s no good for anyone, not with his history. Besides, he’s too old for her. Wynonna wishes Mav would own up to his feelings about her. She can’t help but think his troubles are rooted back in Oregon at his family’s feet, and she’s due for a vacation anyhow. But when she winds up deliriously ill, she only calls out for one man, and it isn’t the one she’d planned on marrying. Now she needs a plan to make him realize he’s perfect for her.
Winona is the final book in the Rope n ride series and oh how it doesn't disappoint. Wynonna is sassy, stubborn, independent, very feisty and calls a spade a spade. I have enjoyed reading all about her exploits in the other books and I'm so pleased she got to tell her story and in this one we find out who the real love of her life is and that's none other than Mav the family's foreman on the ranch. Oh Mav is perfect for her and he keeps her grounded but he also struggles with his feelings for her as he feels he doesn't deserve to be happy in turn the stubborn but feisty side of Wynonna comes out to play and it's fun to watch the pair of them wear each other down. I couldn't put the book down even though I tried to take my time because I really didn't want this series to end. I loved reading all about The Calhoun's and I'm gonna be real sad to see them go.
This is a beautiful ending to a fantastic series. I will miss the Calhoun's and their antics. Wynonna is the last single Calhoun, because the man she loves, Mav, doesn't think that he's worthy of her. Mav loves Wynonna but thinks he is too old and broken to be good for her. Mav acts like a first rate jerk when he gives in to his lust, pushing Wynonna away, then pulling her back. He's a bit of a wimp compared to the Calhoun boys, but he's exactly what Wynonna needs. I loved this story, Wynonna is such a firecracker. And Mav so isn't. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my voluntary and honest opinion of it.
What a great story to end the series! Readers have long awaited the telling of fiery Wynonna’s taming at the hands of the right man. For those of us who have followed this series from Buck’s book, there was no doubt that the chemistry between Wynonna and Mav would need to be addressed. Well the wait is finally over and the sparks, sarcasm and innuendo that fly, make for an explosive and combustible read.
Two wonderful characters with long unresolved issues, and a passion so intense it will singe the pages; Wynonna is definitely one of the best books of the series. I hope others enjoy this story as much as I did as it’s Em Petrova at her very best.
Wynonna and Maverick, or Mav. . Shes been wild and fiery since she was born. No one can tame her. He’s an ex soldier, with a lot of baggage and a messed up family. Plus he’s older. No WAY he can be any good for her or they can make it work. But she’s crushed on him forever and he’s been half in love with her just as long. What will her five brothers think of the Foreman wanting to date their only sister?? This story is interesting, romantic, and ties up things beautifully. Their reality show and their lives changing from the rodeo circuit. Love this series. Sorry to see it end but what a great story!
The attraction to the ranch foreman, finally comes out since sixteen. By teasing him which he wan her already. Very high spirited even five brothers can't control her. Only the foreman who always provided protection. Between him and the brothers. Would run the boyfriend's off. Nobody was to good for her. There highly attractive for each other and have the hots for one another. Lot of foul language with bit too much sex scenes Average family bit high strung. With everyday ranch way of life.
This was a fun read. I really liked Wynonna. She is someone who tells it like it is and makes no excuses for her choices. She has had a crush on Mav for a long time but he thinks she deserves better. I loved watching her tempt him and work to convince him they really belonged together.
Wynonna's story was just as it should have been. It was fiesty with just the right amount of living in it. I also enjoyed a glimpse of the other characters. Just to see how they are doing.
What a great way to end this series! Wynonna rocks. Just goes to show how we can ignore what's right in front of your face especially when it comes to love 💘 Mav and her finally get their act together. A must read!
Ladies to the rescue because they know what's best
Marvin & Wynonna were made for each other from day one. Sassy cowgirl and her love ever after cowboy keeps you on your toes in this romantic novel. Enjoyed and you will too.
Loved this story! The characters are strong willed but have remarkable chemistry throughout. The story line is will written and this is a great addition to the Rope 'n Ride series. Each book seems to get better and adds another layer to the Calhoun family. A must read!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all opinions expressed are my own.
This is a fantastic addition to the Rope n Ride series. I was hooked on the series from the beginning and this one is no different, they story line is fantastic, and it pulls you in from the very beginning. Im voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book. Wynona has always had a wild streak, she's hardheaded and feisty, always going after what she wants. But she's tired of the rodeos, she's ready to stay home and train her horses. Only problem is, her new fiancé isn't as into her retirement as she is. She is ready to settle down and has settled for Austin, even though she's always been in love Mav. Things between them get really hot and heavy, the chemistry and love between them are undeniable, but he swears he's not the one for her. With Mav's background, he's determined to focus in the here and now, not the past or future. He's been hung up on Wynona for years, but he's just to old for her. He's ran off quite a few of her boyfriends, but just because they weren't right for her....or so he tells himself. Can he get over the past and look towards the future for the first time. With her forcing him to visit his family when she runs off, he sees that things weren't as they seemed before. Maybe one day he'll get his head out of the clouds and see what's in front of him, but will he live long enough for that to happen?
Yeehaw, Em Petrova rocks us with another book from this series. This one revolves around sister Wynonna and her dance around their foreman Mav. Wynonna is a feisty cowgirl and she knows what she wants. She's adored Mav since she was a little girl and he's always been her protector. He feels too old and carries too much emotional baggage for her...but he doesn't want anyone else to have her either. Will he come to his senses and realise what her brothers already know? The story flows well and kept me glued to my kindle. I love all the characters and it's great to have snippets of previous characters to see how they are enjoying life too. I highly recommend this book.
The youngest Calhoun has always been free spirited and a little wild, but she's tired of being scrutinized on their reality show and the rodeo circuit and is ready to step back and even settle down. The problem is she's engaged to a man that is completely wrong for her and the one who is perfect for her doesn't believe he's good enough for her or anyone else.
Mav has worked for the Calhouns for years and always looked out for her while battling his attraction and desire for her. Along with his worries of disapproval from her brothers and disappointing her mother he's fought to keep his distance.
"There's a million stars in the sky, and you're the brightest one I see. But I'm a mere mortal, and you'll tire of someone not as bright as you."
Emotional and sexually charged with passion and desire Wynonna is a wild ride and ending to a series that you don't want to end. Fans of the series will enjoy catching up on the brothers and other members of the family also. Who knows, maybe some of the Calhoun children will have their own stories one day.
I could definitely feel the chemistry, the heat between Mav and Wynonna. Wyn was feisty, to say the least, and Maverick seemed to be the only man that could handle her.
As much as I enjoyed this book, I would have liked a couple of questions answered. Why was there so much animosity between Chase and his mother? Where did Mav's family disappear to? (I don't think that question is grammatically correct, but, oh well.) I didn't care much for Chase or his mother, but his daughter, Macie was a sweetheart.
It is interesting that there wasn't a great deal of detail about Mav's issues, but just enough so you knew why he was hesitant to get involved with Wynonna. Wynonna, of course, thought his reasons were ridiculous, and set out to prove to him she was right.
I hope this isn't the last book of the Rope N Ride series. It was one of my favorites.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy.
"Wynonna" (Rope 'n Ride Series Book 6) by Em Petrova is a great read. I loved Wynonna and Mav's story. This is a wonderful addition to this series. I'm sad to say goodbye to these characters. This story has passion, humor, close family, interesting and entertaining characters, hot cowboys, and more. Highly recommend to all fans of cowboys, romance, and series.
