Selena Kitt is a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling and award-winning author of erotic and romance fiction. She is one of the highest selling erotic writers in the business with over two million books sold!
Her writing embodies everything from the spicy to the scandalous, but watch out-this kitty also has sharp claws and her stories often include intriguing edges and twists that take readers to new, thought-provoking depths.
Her books EcoErotica (2009), The Real Mother Goose (2010) and Heidi and the Kaiser (2011) were all Epic Award Finalists. Her only gay male romance, Second Chance, won the Epic Award in Erotica in 2011. Her story, Connections, was one of the runners-up for the 2006 Rauxa Prize, given annually to an erotic short story of “exceptional literary quality.”
I've enjoyed several of the Baumgartner books, however, I felt this book was a little weaker then previous books (with the exception of Letters, I did not care for that one). I liked how this story fills in the gaps between Babysitting and Crazy/ Reunion. It's told in 3rd person from several different viewpoints. Lots of steamy scenes. So, why do I think it was weaker? Unlike the previous books, Adventures was written specifically to become an adult movie, and it read that way. Scenes seemed to focus more on changing positions and being able to check off the typical scenes expected in adult movies. That being said, the book was still an enjoyable addition to the series. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Another scorching hot book by Selena Kitt. I recommend making sure to have fresh batteries and all of your toys next to you when you read this book cause you will not want to put it down. Lots of detailed sex scenes with FF, FFF, FFM, MFM. I only wish there had been an MM or MMF scene to round out the action. I would have loved a scene between Doc and Ari. Another great book to the Baumgartners series. It is going to be a great movie. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
2.5. Published after the Baumgartners series was finished in order to tie in with an adult film, this book is heavy on the typical porno scenarios (and thus pretty hot, ngl) but what saves it from being completely porn-without-plot are the fleeting elements of a young woman, Gretchen, coming to terms with being polyamorous. Extra marks also that the main relationship is between two women.
I picked this up for free and as soon as I started it I know I've read it before, at some point. In terms of chronology, this story falls between book 3, Babysitting the Baumgartners, and book 4, Crazy About the Baumgartners. The focus is on the relationship between Ronnie and Gretchen, who met when Ronnie was the Baumgartners' babysitter, and after the close of that book, moved in together and developed a relationship. When the book starts, I think they've been together a couple of years. While still super hot for each other, their relationship is open, and Ronnie has been seeing a trainer from her gym. Gretchen is supportive, even though Ronnie's been pretty shifty about it, and wants Ronnie to bring him into their bed for some fun. But does Ronnie want to do this, or is this the beginning of a breakup?
So that's the background conflict, but there are plenty of opportunities for Gretchen and Ronnie to have "adventures" with others along the way. The secondary plot is that Doc and Mrs B (the Baumgartners) are excited to welcome couple-friends from their past who are moving close by, and these couple-friends have an 18 year old daughter who wants to live on her own...or with her Black boyfriend. She ends up living with Gretchen & Ronnie, and that leads right where you think it would, and then she invites the boyfriend... Meanwhile Doc and Mrs B are getting reacquainted with her parents...you get the idea.
The (very explicit) sex scenes are typical hetero-leaning porn-y, even though there's a strong emphasis on women together. They're still effective if you're into that at all, lol. This one surprised me because I felt a larger than normal sympathy for Gretchen as she navigates her relationship with Ronnie (UGH RONNIE! So irritating, honestly). Gretchen and Mrs. B have a very lovely moment that foreshadows the events of Crazy About.
So: if you can wade through (or enjoy) the typical porn sex scene setups, it was nice to get this transitional chapter for Gretchen, Ronnie, and the Baumgartners. I am glad I paid the price of $0 for it though, heh.
This is a great follow-up to the many polyamorous adventures led by Carrie and "Doc" Baumgartner. Selena Kitt is one of my favorite authors and I have read many of the Baumgartner series' Books. I was thrilled to have the chance to voluntarily read and review an arc copy of this book. This book really brings the series full circle, revisiting original characters and tying up some of the original relationships.
Four of the most important characters in the series are ready to settle down and make some lasting decisions. In the earliest book, Babysitting the Baumgartners, we meet Ronnie, the Baumgartners' babysitter who spends a spectacular polyamorous vacation with her employers. Even though the Baumgartners care about Ronnie, she later cuts off contact with them and eventually moves in with her girlfriend, Gretchen, who replaces her as the Baumgartners' nanny. Ronnie never seemed completely comfortable with polyamory so three or four years down the line, in this book, we see Ronnie facing the choice of whether to leave Gretchen for her new love, Vince, or form some other type of polyamorous arrangement.
Gretchen also sees her life changing as she sees herself losing Ronnie but also coming closer to realizing a longed-for triad relationship with the Baumgartners. Carrie Baumgartner is thankful for her many blessings but realizes that she still longs to remain and mother and also that she really needs the presence of a female love/lover in her life.
It is really nice to revisit Ronnie, Gretchen, Carrie and Doc and to see that they are all growing and thriving, despite their sometimes unconventional open relationships. It was also nice to see that Ronnie was happy and healthy because she was very young when she had her affair with the Baumgartners and had mixed feelings about it so it was a nice follow-up for her story.
We also get to meet (or renew?) the Baumgartners' close relationship with Daphne and Ari. They have a spirited daughter named Paige who becomes Ronnie and Gretchen's roommate. Paige helps turn the heat way up between the three ladies and Paige's boyfriend, who she is happy to share!
If you aren't familiar with the Baumgartners, the characters get into a LOT of sexy explicit action. If that is NOT your thing, you should skip this! But if you like a lot of action, which reads like the script to an adult film with heart, then you will love this hot read!
4.5 stars of the newest installment about the sensual lives of all these fun people.
When I read books with sex in them it's either the wham-bams or actual good stories with a spicy flavor. This book definitely falls in the latter category. I've read two books of this series so far, but they were some of the best ones for me, since they were all about Ronnie and the Mr. and Mrs. Baumgartners. Sex was pretty hot, of course, but I really like that Kitt made her characters to be more than just back stories for the sexy times. A lot's obviously changed between now and the books I read last, but it was still enjoyable and I'm glad I still had that emotional tie to Ronnie and the way she chose to move forward in life. I definitely got attached to some of the other characters, and seriously, if I can shed some tears for a book that's now become a Motion Picture in the porn industry, you know something interesting is up. So check it out if you like what you're reading.
One hot and delicious story Gretchen and Ronnie have moved in together and have a relationship and she is having the hots for her man trainer and she is having trouble with sharing her trainer with Gretchen she does not want to leave Gretchen but she wants it all lol and of course the rest of the baugmgartners are here and have fun with there old friends they are living with them and having a good time had all but it is good developments with the characters and good story line love Selena Kit's writing she is a great story teller and can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Michelle
This is another great addition to Selena Kitt's ever-growing The Baumgartners series. Sexy, fun and wickedly hot it is a great read. This book gives us details of what happened in Ronnie's life after she left the Baumgartners employ. A great read and an excellent addition to the series. Selena Kitt is a very talented author that never disappoints. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
This is a steaming hot addition to The Baumgartners series that chronicles what happened to Ronnie once she stopped working for the family and focuses on her relationship with Gretchen. However the wind is blowing in old friends and new ones which are going to lead to some arresting developments. Leave it to Selena Kitt to get one’s panties in a bunch, and then some. I volunteered to read an arc for a review.
I love all the books I've read by this author and this is no exception. It was super hot!! There's lots of steamy action with lots of details between a variety of people combinations. I do wish there had been at least one mm or mmf scene as I enjoy those more than ff or ffm. However, I still really enjoyed this one. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
I received this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review I would tell you straight off, if you haven't read any of Selena's Baumgartners Series this WILL give you the best orgasm without actually ANYONE (including yourself) touching your nether regions as its another VERY HOT continuation of the very open relations the Baumgartners have with having Daphne & Ari Wilson back in their lives.... 😚😚😚😚
Lots of F-F action, 3 and 4 somes. Ronnie was the Baumgartner’s nanny before, but now Gretchen is. She and Ronnie have been together for 3 years. They gain a roommate Paige who is Daphne’s daughter who is Carrie’s lover. She wanted to move in with her boyfriend Tyler, but moved in with the 2 girls instead. There’s lots of sharing and roommate love. If you want a book with some substance but a whole lot of sex to get you in the mood, this is for you.
Hot, hot, hot!!!! This book fills in some backstory information. If you like girl on girl action with a guy character thrown in this is the book for you. It's the swinger lifestyle. It's obvious as well as shown in action and words how much the husbands love their wives. If you liked Ms. Kitt's other Baumgartners books you will love this one too!
There's always an adventure when the Baumgartners are involved. The way they openly share themselves with others but not losing any of the love shared between themselves is amazing. They seem to attract some hot lovers and burn the sheets.
This book was WOW. The Baumgartners have many books but so far they have all been great as standalones so anyone can (and should) get their hands on this book. The scenes are hot, the story line consistent, and the characters are all interesting to read. Other books focus on the Baumgartners more, and though they are still a key role in this book, this focuses more on Ronnie and Gretchen (and Paige, Ty, and Vince). They all get along well as friends and some even more so as lovers. I would really like to see how the story plays out with Vince and Ronnie, Gretchen and the Baumgartners.
