Meet Tom Wilder – ex-Special Ops Afghanistan War hero – the man they turn to when there’s a crisis too tough for others to handle.
But in this gripping thriller, will he be tested beyond anyone’s capabilities? He’s up against Moscow’s most powerful ‘Mafia organisation’ plus some of the Russian Foreign Secret Service’s top agents. They’ve joined forces to steal the West’s latest high-tech weapon of war. It’s so devastatingly powerful that the West haven’t used it yet because innocent civilians will suffer.
But the Russians have no such scruples. They’ll do whatever it takes to steal the technology and use it against the West. The stakes couldn’t be higher – if they get their hands on the weapon, catastrophic chaos could be rained down on the West. And Wilder knows it’s up to him and his small team to keep the weapon safe.
Interesting plot, but the myriad of typos, missing words, and poorly constructed sentences detracted greatly from the story. The author should hire a competent editor to correct these defects. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid to obtain the story. Sometimes adjectives were out of place or repeated twice in the same sentence, clearly not intended to emphasize a point. These happened too frequently to allow me to enjoy the story as I was always focused on the error and anticipating the next. Despite characters engaging, I will not pursue any future installments.
I enjoyed the intrigue, it kept me turning the pages.
This is the first book in a series and the next one follows close on its heels. If however, you are sensitive to violence as well as adult language and violence, you may wish to side-step them.
Tom Wilder didn't know that when he decided to help a long-time friend with a closely-guarded secret project, he would become embroiled in so many schemes.
While the intrigue kept me turning the pages, some of the repetitiveness wore on my nerves a bit.
Starys out very straightforward as ex-SAS operative brought in to protect new cyber terrorism technology and the people immediately associated with it. Rapidly turns into a very convoluted and devious game of cat and mouse behind the scenes political moves with enough life and death situations to keep you wondering does the good guy have the where withal and resources to succeed
I found this book to be a real page Turner. Introductions to each of the parties were given and a good detailed plot was revealed, but the story never lost its pace, action was found all the way. An excellent book, which found me gripped by the storyline and well - shaped action scenes. I recommend this book to anyone
I found that I had a hard time to put this book down for necessary breaks. As the old saying states this is a definite page turner! It's very obvious that Jack Brandon has done his preparatory homework and he's been there.
Excellent book - for me just pure escapism. Fast paced, imaginative with enough twists and turns to keep the momentum going. Some interesting characterisations and reminiscent of the mood of James Bond and espionage. Well worth a read.
Good book. Ending threw me for a twist, but that’s good. A slower paced book than I was expecting. Not as much action as I thought. Over all a good book
