Susan Mann had me once again turning pages well into the night in Quinn and James’ latest exploits. This is such a fun series with a couple that takes you on their CIA over-the-top missions. The plots have serious background premises, but are entertaining and balanced with a lighter side at the same time. James is your secret agent dream come true and Quinn is great as a covert research librarian.

AN UNCOMMON HONEYMOON (Librarian and the Spy Escapade #3) by Susan Mann has the big marriage scene between Quinn and James and it is everything I was hoping for, beautiful, fun and filled with love.

As they are on their honeymoon in the Turks and Caico’s, they are approached by Dave Flores, a former CIA operative now working for a group that rescues children caught in human trafficking. Quinn and James were invited to a party that Dave would like them to surveil, but Quinn meets two of the children being held at the compound and vows to help them get free. The plot has child slave trafficking, drug trafficking and a Russian crime lord. The child slave trafficking is handled seriously and with heart by Ms. Mann, while the Russian crime lord and his minions get the action packed, super spy treatment.

Quinn and James are just perfect together. Their love for each other is always present, Quinn is always James’ equal in any situation and they are seriously sexy and hot. I especially love the sometimes witty, sometimes steamy banter between these two. All of the secondary characters that I have come to care about in the two previous books make an appearance. This series does continually progress forward in Quinn and James’ relationship and abilities, so I really think it is more enjoyable to read in order.

I am waiting anxiously for the next installment!

Thanks very much to Kensington Books, Zebra Shout and Net Galley for allowing me to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Believability is not this series' strong suit but its light, easy fun that's full of implausibilities. Despite being light and breezy, this story tackles the topics of drug trafficking and child slavery.

Quinn and James get married and go to the Caribbean for their honeymoon. While there, they meet up with someone who gets them involved in trying to stop a ring of child slavers. The story moved quickly with lots of action. The topic of child slavery was sensitively handled, especially reintegrating them into their families. Mix in drug smuggling, a movie star, humor, and several implausibilities and we get a quirky, sometimes suspenseful mystery and romance.

Quinn is fast on her feet, a good researcher, and capable of rescuing herself. Her wits get put to the test while rescuing a group of children. She and James work well together and her treats her as an equal. I also enjoyed their banter and their flirting.

"That's the plan. You got your Glock?" She slid the hem of her skirt up her thigh to reveal the pistol held snugly in a lacy black holster. "Sweet Moses, that's hot," he whispered.

The copy I read was an ARC and it had several misspellings and wrong words. One wrong word pulled me out of the story at how absurd an image it presented. I hope it's corrected in the final copy.

"From her secreted position..."

Now, presumably the author meant her hidden or secret position, but instead she has Quinn emitting the position from her body. Yeah, not a good visual.

Apart from that unappealing visual, "An Uncommon Honeymoon" was a fast paced adventure story with a sweet and steamy romance, humor, and hot topics

3.5 stars.

Warning: Contains spoilers

This was like "Mr & Mrs Smith" doing "Luxury Escapes". First we had Quinn and James on their honeymoon in the Caribbean where they were approached to go gather intel at a swanky glitterati mansion. That turned into a trip to a Moscow Strip Club in disguise ala "Mission Impossible" to take down an international drug and child slavery ring. And it all culminated in James Bond style with a high-stakes poker game in Casino de Monte Carlo followed by a high speed car chase between the bad Boss in a Pagani Zonda and James in a Ferrari on the streets of Monte Carlo.

With all that's going on, there's minimal library reference work for Quinn and the descriptive prose was more of a travelogue of the places they visited. Much more entertaining this way.

Loved this book! Quinn is a librarian who has become a CIA operative who marries her CIA operative partner, James. This is a thriller that deals with the dangerous and difficult topic of the trafficing and slavery of children. Despite the circumstances of the plot, this is a fun thriller/caper with fast action and a tightly woven plot that had me turning pages just as quickly as possible.

I love Quinn and James and thoroughly enjoyed reading about their escapades. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. While it is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

A librarian spy? Yes, please!

An Uncommon Honeymoon is the third book in the Librarian and the Spy Escapade series. If you need to see how a librarian becomes a CIA operative (and really, who doesn't???) you should probably start with the first book in the series, The Librarian and the Spy . If you're okay starting here and then going back to the beginning to see how it started (as I am), though, jump right in!

Come to think of it, that's how I got into my first TV obsession too (Scarecrow and Mrs. King--a suburban mom inadvertently becomes involved with the CIA...and an agent, of course). I missed the first part of season one--pre-Internet and VCR days (gasp!)--and started mid-season with Remembrance of Things Past. Fast forward a few (ahem) years later, and I guess it makes sense that I start the librarian spy books a little late, too. ;)

Like my favorite TV series, this book isn't exactly 100% realistic, but it is a lot of fun to read. The dashing spy couple--have I mentioned she's a librarian?--who fall into international intrigue while on their honeymoon are right up my alley. James and Quinn are really cute together, and make a great team at work too. Quinn's love of research and cataloging is a hoot, as is her tendency to babble random facts when she's nervous--but she's also quick on her feet and with James's able assistance manages to get herself out of almost every plot wrinkle that is thrown her way. The case they are on this time around deals with human trafficking and drugs, and the author does a nice job of balancing out the heavy-duty seriousness of the crimes and their implications with some more lighthearted story moments.

I can't wait to go back and read the first two books, and will be anxious to see what Ms. Mann has in store next for my new favorite spy couple!

An Uncommon Honeymoon is book three in Susan Mann's Librarian and the Spy Escapade series. I have loved all the books and this one was good, albeit a difficult subject to dive into.

Quinn is a librarian specializing in research. She has a mind like a sponge and remembers what she reads. In this installment, she marries her CIA operative boyfriend after joining the CIA and completing her training. While on honeymoon, they are asked to help a fellow agent about drug trafficking and enslaving children as drug mules. It was a hard subject to address, and I was uncomfortable at times. I felt bad about the situation. These things are real world and they are credible threats. It is a suspenseful read that's for sure! The plot had me riveted and I needed to find out what would happen next!

Quinn is one of those smart girls and she is very capable of thinking quick and adapting as you go. Very good when things do not go as planned and the need to deviate happens! James and Quinn's escapades have been fun to read! If you like spy novels then jump on in! These can be read as standalones, but as they are all good stories, I highly recommend reading all of the books in the series!

Quinn Ellington is married at last, but not even the honeymoon means she can take time off from being a spy. However, investigating a drug trafficking ring isn't going to be easy, especially when her brand-new husband is so protective of her. But the closer they get to catching the bad guys, the more Quinn is needed, especially when it comes to luring a very dangerous villain into a trap. Will Quinn's unique skills be indispensable, or will she barely escape her hardest mission yet?

This series just gets more and more intriguing and captivating in the way the stories provide plenty of action; the perfect combination of suspense and romance; and a fast-paced storyline that had me wondering whether Quinn and her spy husband would come out on top against the bad guys, considering what they go through towards the end of this book that had me on the edge-of-my-seat due to the danger they face.

The way this story started had me really excited to read this story, as what Quinn and James are doing sets the fast-pace of the book. However, it was the characters that made this story very intriguing and exciting, as Quinn finally gets to use her skills as an operative to take the lead of the case, as being a woman has its advantages, especially when it comes to manipulating powerful men. Certainly, Quinn is strong, brave and I liked how she handled herself with every dangerous situation she found herself in. I also liked the tight bond she shares with her family, as they give her advice and encourage her to do her best, especially since marriage isn't always easy.

Overall, Ms. Mann has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between the hero and heroine was strong; the dialogue a wonderful combination of intense moments due to the suspense and teasing banter between Quinn and James that had me smiling; and the ending had me concerned for the main characters due to the danger they face, but had me liking how things work out for them in the end. Then again, the last line of this story has me thinking there's more to come for Ms. Mann's Librarian and the Spy Escapade series, which I'm looking forward to. I would recommend An Uncommon Honeymoon by Susan Mann, if you enjoy romantic suspense or books by authors HelenKay Dimon, Katie Ruggle, Kate Serine and Dawn Ryder.

While on their honeymoon, spies, Quinn and James are asked to go undercover at a party to see if they can gather information on a human trafficking suspect. While undercover, Quinn meets two of the kidnapped children and her heart strings are tugged. She is determined to stop this ring and save these kids, with the help of her husband and fellow spy, James. As with her other novels, Susan Mann brings a human element into what could’ve been a rather mundane romantic story line. Human trafficking is a real issue and here in the state of Tennessee (where I live), you see posters in bathrooms and rest stops. I thought the balance of such a serious subject matter was relieved by the lighthearted romance between Quinn and James.

This is the third novel featuring these two main characters and we know them pretty well. Quinn’s skills are in her knowledge and researching skills. James is the more physical spy of the two, although that structure seems to have changed with An Uncommon Honeymoon. In the past Quinn seemed to know everything, spouting interesting facts and tidbits, but the Russian setting seemed to throw her off her stride, although her confidence in her budding spy skills was strong. She was firing a gun and kicking Russian butt like she’d been doing it for years.

The Indian setting was one of the things I liked best about A Covert Affair, and I missed that librarian curiosity that Quinn portrayed previously. She was more spy-ish than librarian-ish in this novel, which seemed a bit out of character. The romance between Quinn and James sizzled, as it should with newlyweds, and this novel had a lot more sexy scenes than the previous two books. Am I interested in reading and learning more about Quinn and James? I think I am, although I believe this author needs to share the growth more evenly over those two characters. Unless she wants to write a novel where Quinn becomes James’ boss?

I was given a copy of this book through NetGalley for my honest review and it was honest!

Yay my favourite spy duo is back... and racing towards their nuptials but not without a little excitement!

Quinn is still learning her dual role as Librarian and Spy. She is still Mistress of all things trivia. James has finally returned from Moscow and ready to get his HEA. But when their honeymoon is interrupted with the possibility of helping track down human traffickers, there was no way these two were ever going to say no!

With child labour trafficking, drug mules, possible bioweapons and all around creepiness, there are a few triggers some may find it hard to get past. But there was nothing too ominous or sketchy and as usual it was very well researched and presented. I want to be Quinns friend! She is Queen of the Nerds and loving it. She has her own Knight in shining armour in the shape of James and they are adorable to read. Do you take it all seriously? Of course not, this is a total romp through the suspense/spy genre and it is great fun. I hate it when books take themselves all too seriously. I want to decompress when I read. However, the themes dealt with are all too real and it made for a great read.

I really want more in this series, I loved James and Quinn. Quinn's family is a riot and I really need another fix soon!

I was really looking forward to the third installment of Susan Mann's Librarian and the Spy series, and I was not disappointed. Ms. Mann has improved as a writer with every book; this one is excellent. Our heroes are now married and embarking on their honeymoon. Although the romance between Quinn and James remains a strong aspect of the book, the spy adventure is the focus here. And it's a good one. While honeymooning in the Turks and Caicos they are asked to attend a party and look for any sign of human trafficking. Of course they find it and they're off in a race to rescue victims of child slavery. As one mission leads to another, they break up a drug smuggling/trafficking ring attached to the Russian Mafia and return the missing children to safety. The book alternates action scenes with quiet moments of interaction between Quinn and James as well as Quinn and the children very effectively. I enjoyed it very much. The next book in this series should be a cracker and I look forward to it.

Is this the last installment of the librarian and spy series? Quinn and James are all over the world in this escapade--the Caribbean, Russia, Monaco, with a brief stop in Colorado. And they are dealing with child trafficking, drugs, and mind control weapons. Plus, they are still crazy about each other. There are flashes of humor still, but the suspense is ratcheted up a bit. Loved Quinn's alter ego Victoria. My favorite scene? In the karaoke bar with her best friend when she deals with the drunk jerk at the next table. Librarians rock!

The 3rd book of The Librarian and the Spy Escapades. Quinn and James are back in action. They get married and get some sun in on their sunny honeymoon in Turks and Caicos before a former CIA operative and friend of their boss contacts them about a case of possible human trafficking. They agree to investigate and find child being hired to clean up after parties and mule drugs for their bosses. Being the people they are the set up a plan to take out the people involved and hilarity, action and romance ensues. I would read many more of these.

Quinn and James’ wedding is a lovely start to this book, not rushed through, and an integral part of the series.

On their honeymoon, the caper begins. They become embroiled in breaking up a human trafficking ring. They save some teens working for a drug lord, then bring down the drug lord himself.

Throughout, they remain a sweet married couple, no need for dramatics in this marriage.

Love the writing, intelligent, humorous, and exciting.

Dang it, I want MORE!

I enjoyed this book. The overall premise and situations were not to realistic but this book maintained my interest and was a fairly quick read. The sexual scenes were well written and did not have to resort to vulgarity to get the message across which is always appreciated by this reader. I would recommend it to anyone who just wants a little action, a little sex, and some mushy love scenes.

Susan Mann's third adventure in the "Librarian and the Spy Escapade" series does not disappoint. With humor, wit, and excellent pacing, we're taken along on the fast-paced life of spies we could actually be friends with. Not only was I truly entertained by this jet-setting tale, but Mann also unpreachingly educates about the real-world wrongs that need to be righted.

I had read the previous two books with this particular couple and found the first one to be the best. The couple is now married and working undercover in the CIA. I found the scenarios that they were put in unrealistic and their sexy comments while on the job silly. More spy story and less they are thinking of sex while working with foreign drug lords.

I was honestly sad to get to the end of the series because I wanted to continue reading about the adventures of the librarian and her spy. The last book took them on a journey through interesting territory and parts of the world. It was interesting to read about the wedding cultures from other parts of the world. I hope that the author continues to write more books.

Love that it started with them on a mission, teasing and flirting. Then the wedding. Oh the wedding . . . and then the honeymoon . . . . and the beginning have a tie to the rest of the book's mission of saving kids in Russia then it ends in Monaco.

Quinn and James really are relationship/couple goals, for real

Boring, silly story about a woman named Quinn (like in Homeland) who is a librarian and a secret agent. I had to abandon the book after getting 3/4 a way through it. Every few pages Quinn has a very mild kissing, erotic scene with her fiancé. She spparenyy enjoys it.

AN UNCOMMON HONEYMOON started off a bit slow for me through the first third as we go through the pre wedding days and then the ceremony and honeymoon, however, it was nice to have these moments. Readers have been with Quinn and James since they met and we've seen their journey from dating to engaged and now to married. Once we got into the meat of the story with the trafficking ring I enjoyed the book a lot more and the pace started to pick up. One part of the writing did bug me a bit and since it's been so long since I read the others, I'm not sure if they were the same. Basically, there is a lot of detail in the writing and most actions are explained almost step by step. For instance, if a character were to get in the car and drive away it will be described from opening the door, to putting the eye in the ignition to start the car, to it pulling away, etc. The large amount of detail just slowed the pace down considerably, especially in the beginning.

Travel to exotic locations has been a big part of the series and this time we got to travel to Russia and Monaco with Quinn and James. These have been a great team from the very beginning and this book was no different. I loved how great Quinn and James are together; how much they communicate what they want and how they trust each other to get the job done when on missions. To say these two are besotted would be a grand understatement. They spend a lot of the book holding hands, sharing kisses, and flirting, all the stuff that newly married couples do. All of this was typically used to encourage and comfort each other and it was pretty sweet. With a mission with such heavy overtones, it was great to see them support each other. They're pretty much the perfect CIA couple.

I don't know if we'll have any more books about Quinn and James but I'll certainly look forward to them if we do. I can trust Susan Mann to give readers an interesting adventure, lots of library references, and a couple you know can stand the test of time.

Right up front - this was one of my most anticipated books of 2017. That is probably a bit of why I read it the way I did.

So, what I loved: I loved them together, seeing them in honeymoon mode. I thought that could get annoying but it didn't.

I liked seeing them together! The honeymoon-over-kill-happiness was actually cute and didn't get on my nerves. I liked the banter. She and James are still an adorable couple. You see them doing this right up through their lives. I loved that this wasn't all about their wedding - we have enough books about that. It really was fun to see them handling all this in their world. I could have actually seen more of that since we know they'd been apart for most of the time between books.

What I didn't love: One thing I love about Romance is that the authors aren't afraid to take on topics that need attention and when I saw this one was about human trafficking I was incredibly proud. But, as the book went on, it was almost as if they didn't want to acknowledge the even darker issues of sexual abuse and trafficking. At one point in the middle they listed all the ways people are trafficked and this wasn't even in the list.

The next thing was this book relied on coincidence of overlapping cases that happen within a week of each other on opposite sides of the world while people aren't even working.

The third is that it was...well, it was slow. Compared to the other two books there was a lot of downtime, and little of that was librarian downtime even. Then we'd get to the exciting parts and they felt like they were over too soon.

DO I WANT A FOURTH BOOK - YES! I rated the first at 3 and the second a 4.5 - I'm wondering if marrying them off to one another was kind of like struggling to reset up the structure, so yes. I absolutely want another story! I adore this couple and I love how flirtatious they are with one another.

I'm impressed with how well Mann is able to keep the relationship between Quinn and James feeling "fresh" throughout each novel in this series. In this third installment, Quinn is a full-fledged agent for the CIA, having completed her training, and she and James get pulled into a case while on their honeymoon. They learn to trust each other's abilities to let them do their jobs so they can catch the bad guys and save a group of kids. I look forward to more adventures with these two!
