DNF at 23%. This was my first read from the author and I could not connect with any of it. The writing quality and style were fine and I was even able to handle the almost journal entry-like format to the book, which I normally can’t stand. So followed Aymee, our lead, whi is more or less leading a very strange existence, interpreting erotic nightmares as compared to her reality. The premise grabbed my attention, but her character was hard to follow. I understood that part of that may have been intentional, but it was a bit more than that, to a detriment. Lots of low-level drama and pettiness throughout, making her fairly unlikable, especially towards her current and ex-boyfriends. There isn’t a single thing that made me want to care about her plight or wellbeing, and that just took any other plot points and rendered them ineffective. From what I gather from other reviews, the story eventually finds its footing further in, but this was too much of a struggle for me stick with. Readers of erotic thrillers may or may not have a better explanation than I did, but this was not a good fit for me.
