Having magical powers would be so much more fun without demonic assassins appearing every five minutes.
Follow Freya Snow, a young, sarcastic Angel, through her first few years as a Demon hunter and into adulthood in this six-book collection.
Hunt After discovering her magical heritage, Freya is hunted down by a Demon, hellbent on using her death to increase his own power. With barely any training, can Freya truly escape unscathed?
White When Freya's classmates start acting out fairy tales, with potentially deadly consequences, she finds herself in the middle of a fight with the Fae. As she finds herself cursed to play out Snow White, the question is if she can stop them before she falls asleep, because she's not sure her prince will come.
Wings After the city experiences an excess of magic, Freya finds herself with physical wings, and her best friend (and crush), Damon, develops glowing red eyes. Physical manifestations of their powers. Not only is the boy she loves a Demon, he's the next in line for the demonic throne, and her Soulbound. But his father's looking for war, and stopping him may push Freya's trust of Damon to the limits.
Oracle When an oracle goes missing, Fate calls on Freya to help track her down. The problem is, the oracle may not want to be found.
Witch Just after she starts a new job, Freya's co-worker falls under a curse and it's up to Freya to free her before it's too late.
Enhanced As a number of magical beings disappear without a trace, Freya does her best to hunt down the culprit. The only problem? All signs point to it being her new girlfriend.
The collection includes the first six Freya Snow novels (Hunt, White, Wings, Oracle, Witch, and Enhanced) as well as the Short Story Collection.
Some say she's an ancient creature of nightmare that was unleashed from beneath the ocean, come to devour the souls of men. Others say that she's a cosmic being from the beyond the stars that has taken corporeal form to learn our ways for some unknown end...
In truth, L.C. Mawson lives in a tower in the middle of a haunted forest, far from civilisation and is definitely not a witch who curses those who trespass upon her land. And she definitely cannot turn into a dragon that flies over cities in the dead of night and whose cries are often mistaken for an approaching storm. Where did you hear that? That's absurd...
The only contact she has with humanity is publishing books every so often, which is definitely just for fun and not part of an ancient contract with a trickster god.
The Freya Snow series is a real pleasure to read and, if your new to it, I can guarantee you'll find it to be addictive fun. As such, this massive collection, with its discount over the price of these 6 books if purchased separately, is a sweet deal.
Since they're separate stories here is my review of books 1 to 6:
--- Hunt (Freya Snow, Book 1) ---
"When Freya said that she’d be shocked if she made it through the year without killing herself, that wasn’t an invitation for a demon to come and do it for her."
Yup, and so it begins. This is a really great book on several different levels. It has wonderful world-building, great characters both lead (our gal Freya, who is being set up to be one of those great characters who starts off interesting and then grows from strength to strength over the course of a series) and supporting (especially Amber, Freya's ghost mentor, and Alice), a strong plot with well done use of flashbacks, and powerfully good writing. I especially really liked how Freya's and Alice's autism was handled. Not as the story driver but appropriately just an important aspect of complex persons.
Highly recommended.
Addendum: A while after reading this I read the series' prequel Trapped. That novel gives the backstory on Freya's mom Lily, pre-ghost Amber, and how Freya came to be the gal we know in Hunt. While I didn't need this to thoroughly enjoy Hunt on a totally stand alone basis, this prequel provides background that really fills some holes in Hunt and enhances enjoyment of it. I'd recommend reading the prequel prior to reading Hunt.
--- White (Freya Snow, Book 2) ---
This is a very well done story that brings classic fantasy stories into play in real life as a result of some particularly powerful magic, and a string-willed heroine who (as the kindle blurb notes) isn't willing to simply accept her Snow White "casting" and wait for some prince to come rescue her. LC Mawson does a wonderful job in telling her tale, and it's one with a powerful and exciting plot and truly excellent lead and supporting characters. And, of yes, the lead happens to be bisexual and have Aspergers, but so what? It certainly adds some "color" making this character more distinctive, but otherwise is not relevant or important, which in itself is an important message.
Highly recommended.
--- Wings (Freya Snow, Book 3) ---
Another neat multilayered paranormal tale. Our heroine Freya continues to learn more and more about who she is and what she's capable of, events call upon her to develop and act in ways she'd never foreseen, her relationship with Damon develops nicely, and so much more. Throw in great new and returning supporting characters, another fine (and well written) plot and you've a major recipe for success. This book definitely delivers on the series' promise.
Highly recommended.
--- Oracle (Freya Snow, Book 4) ---
Wow. What an incredible book. Freya is pretty much tricked into a hunt for the Oracle, one of the few more powerful than her - and who doesn't particularly want to be found. Switching between the Shadow Realm and our realm as she searches, her real goal is to bring back her sister Alice, who we get to learn more about. It's a thrilling adventure and also a powerful story that (with the caveat that I know nothing about this) I think gives a good inkling of how an autistic person deals with life. Strong stuff. Strong writing. Strong characters. I can only give a (you guessed it) strong recommendation in favor of this strong book.
One caveat: you really need to read at least books 1-3 to get the full impact of this story. The Freya Snow Short Story collection would further enhance enjoyment, but it's not needed in the same way.
--- Witch (Freya Snow, Book 5) ---
I love the mix of sci fi and urban fantasy in this series, and it's really done well here. Our wonderful heroine Freya is growing up and continue to develop her powers. She's also growing in her friendship with her witch buddy Sarah. Sarah's getting cursed provides the excuse for this story's plotline. Let's just say I wish I had s friend as String - and as String willed - as Freya in my corner. Thrills, danger and surprises notwithstanding, our gal will do what's needed to try to get the job done. It's a blast following along as she does so.
Highly recommended (with the caveat that the prior books in the series really should be read before this one.
--- Enhanced (Freya Snow, Book 6) ---
"Freya will have to choose between the woman she loves and the people she swore to protect."
I adore the heroine of this series, Freya Snow, in all her magical, autistic, bi-sexual glory. She's truly complex and wonderful, increasingly mature and capable, and increasingly powerful, but still young, learning and growing. She's starting to truly fulfill the promise of this character laid our way back in book 1 of the series. And now in this story she falls in love for the first real time. Of course things aren't that easy for her since Alex, her love interest, is suspect #1 in the disappearance of magical beings. She's clearly more than she seems to be at first glance, troubling especially when it's possible she might be one of the "Enhanced", the genetically-engineered human soldiers that fought magic last time it was exposed. Tune in and read to find out. It's definitely worth the ride.
I just couldn’t put them down. This series starts as exactly the kind of fantasy novel I wish I had had as a teenager, and grows to be a fantastic and enthralling tale of romance, adventure, magic and a hefty dose of chaos
I only recently discovered Freya Snow, and have now read this whole box set in one go, from beginning to end, and am starting on the other books next! I love the fact that the author is autistic and so can really write Freya well (who is also autistic), as it gets annoying reading characters who are disabled but the authors don't have insight or don't properly research them. This box set takes us right from Freya's time in the orphanage/children's home with no magic, to being fostered, getting her magic, and then to everything that happens after that, right up to her going on the run at the end of book 6. It also contains a short story that tells us how Alice comes to meet her aunt (who is Fate) and discovers her own powers, giving the background to that side of the stories too. I have loved reading these books. They're incredibly well-written, have great characters that help to drive the plots, contain plenty of action, adventure, love, friendship, magic, fighting, as well as some everyday stuff. And, as I mentioned before, they're also well written in terms of the disability aspects (be it Freya's autism or Mel's Christian-Anderson Syndrome leaving her as a wheelchair user) and sexuality. While they wouldn't be suitable for the youngest readers as they do contain some sexual scenes, they're not too explicit, so it would be OK for teenagers. And I would definitely recommend these books to all magic and fantasy lovers! NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions
This bookset is a good deal and also a good introduction to the first part of the series. In this part, a lot of stuff happens over a period of several years. Freya eventually discovers that she's an angel and that she has powers and each book is constantly introducing and expanding you to the world. When I read the first few books in the series, they were really good and I wanted to read more, but I found that the latter books (4-6) were a lot better and I felt a wide range of emotions while reading them.

This YA supernatural series progresses from a girl growing into herself and finding unknown abilities to a young woman who has found her footing. And love! The magical community is a crazy race of light and dark beings, vampires, demons, angels, were shifters, mermaids and much more. Wonderful creations!
I absolutely adore the universe of Freya Snow. The worldbuilding is clever and captivating, the characters are lively and emotionally engaging, and the plot is interesting and compelling. I’d been stuck in a bit of a reading rut before discovering this series, but ever since, I’ve been blazing through each book. I highly recommend the series.
