The original manga is adapted into English for the first time! Time and again, the Avengers have assembled to save the Earth from destruction. But they've never had to face a threat as gruesome and as UNDEAD as this one! Now, Earth's Mightiest Heroes must fight to contain an outbreak of horrifying zombies, and stop them from spreading across the Earth! But not all of the Avengers will escape uninfected...
The first issue is awesome! After that... it all falls apart.
It's kind of fascinating how this book managed to latch onto 2 of the most contested aspects of the MCU and run full speed ahead with them. Bruce/Nat was a terrible (and extremely random) idea and this book focused on that for a bit. Tony's decision to destroy his suits in Iron Man 3 (for love?) was highly contested and this book runs with that, too in a random one shot
Well that was cute. I know, I know, end of the world Zombie story. But its done in a mostly silly Manga style with the Avengers. The last chapter is an unrelated Tony & Pepper story that is sickeningly sweet.
Thor chega, inclusive a perder o olho.
Manga humour really just hits different than Marvel homebase's style.
Visually this looks clearly meant to be a tie in to the MCU. The character design and relationships reflect the movie version. This is what gives me mixed feelings. Like the Japanese brand of humour is definitely different from the movies. As a reader of this book, I like it A LOT. I love manga! But when I compare it to the movies, I can't help but feel like there's something that doesn't fit.
I really like the art, though. Oh man, there's that one panel where Tony is talking in the foreground, but in the background there's this very small scene of Clint giving Natasha a handkerchief to wipe off the . That kind of small detail makes me crack up.
And this adaptation also incorporate the from Ultron, and I'm game for it. It's really sweet in this story.
The zombie plot is really WTF at first, but as I keep reading, I got more into it? Not sure if it is indication of good writing or if manga in general just does that to me.
Io ho dato addirittura quattro stelline...
Its not that bad. So this is a noncanon story that sets its timeline as following the events of the first Avengers movie with a minor segue to The Age of Ultron. That part is irrelevant but just consider this to be fan fiction story based in a manga format. It is funny, it is gross, and just fun. Enjoy it. The only bad part I will consider is that of the 4 issues to this volume, 3 tell the main story with the final issue telling a Tony Stark backstory.
Starts off pretty strong, cool idea of where the virus originated etc. Takes places straight after the Avengers Movie.
A few little throw aways, like about to destroy the iron man suits again. Showing the connect of Bruce and Natasha. Weak reason for all the 'doing' of this, by Jasper.
All in all, a fun read, but not 'can't put down'.

I don't like manga but I love the Marvel zombies... which will win out? Obviously by the one star rating... I hated it. The story line is closer to the Marvel cinematic universe than it is the Marvel Zombies universe but the characters all look, talk, and act like hormonal teenagers. Yuck!
Not as bad as people are rating it. It's just a mindless fun elseworld story about zombies attacking the Avengers. You won't find anything outstanding and I wouldn't say it's 'good' but the book serves it's purpose, which is to entertain. Based on the other reviews it seems like it's bunch of out of touch adults who are perplexed by the manga format, they complain about the exaggerated characterizations when if you're a manga/anime fan this is pretty much the standard in the Japanese media, with characters usually being much expressive both in speech and actions. It seems like they're stuck in the past, not realizing that manga has surpassed their old floppy comic books.
On an end note though, I do find the issue #0 one-shot at the end of the book to be very charming, it's packed full of Tony/Pepper fluff(fanfiction term, google it) that's irresistibly sweet.
