SJD: What’s the Point of Three (Law Degrees)?: The Adventures of an Older Lawyer Who Returned to Law School for the Third Degree

Rate this book
The book opens with a brief analysis of the SJD degree, and the author’s angst in deciding to obtain one, which required going back to law school at age 72. Once he’s enrolled, the reader goes to class with Bruce, meeting fellow students (decades younger), law professors (also younger), and suffering along with him as he struggles with studying and taking law examinations again. Romp with him through tax, banking, constitutional, and other law subjects. Discover how returning to law school invigorated his law practice and enhanced his professional writing. He is followed through the dissertation process, delayed due to some personal tribulations. The reader is with him at his law school graduation and the after-party at his home, where the partygoers write things about him. Learn how this experience changed his life and his hopes that others will find the courage to pursue a life dream.
