Even though we’re only friends, Tye sleeps in my bed every night. After everything I’ve been through, I don’t believe I can handle more. But if relationships aren’t his thing, why is he here?
I wanted Billie from the first moment I saw her. Her scars are deep and every day is a struggle. Learning her secrets is like unwrapping a gift; slower is better. I only want to protect her. That’s why I hold her every night.
Melanie Jayne doesn’t know what she wants to be when and if she ever grows up. She’s worked retail, recorded hearings in a Federal Courtroom, worked behind the scenes with security at a casino and currently she is living her dream writing Romance.
She plots and plans from her farm in central Indiana that she shares with her husband and two mastiffs, Ginger and Duncan Keith. When she isn’t creating she can be found watching sports, searching for the perfect mascara and reading. She also loves questionable TV- Any Real Housewives, The Steve Wilkos Show and Live PD. Plus she is addicted to the TMZ app on her phone.
Melanie loves to meet readers. She attends many conferences and signings. Please take a moment and introduce yourself and tell her what you are reading.
Billie wants her past to be left behind so she starts a new life where her best friend Zoe lives. Zoe tells Billie all about Tyler from her point of view.
Tyler, Tye is a very successful lawyer. With his playboy persona no one takes him seriously when he grows up a bit and wants a family.
At their first meeting Billie goes in thinking she knows how he is. Tyler falls head over hills for Billie at first site.
What I loved about this story is the way Billie and Tye come together and the romance blooms. They are both easy to relate to and you want good things for them.
I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an advanced copy!
Billie is living with deep scars, and when her baggage gets too heavy, she decides to start over near her best friend Zoe. Tyler is a super successful lawyer, and kind of a playboy. When they meet, Billie is cautious, as she's heard all about how he is, but Tye falls instantly. As they become better friends, feelings are growing, but will Billie ever take Tye seriously? I really loved these two together, but waiting for things to really get going, had me at the edge of my seat, anxiously waiting. But I have to gush about the sweetness of this slow growing romance blooming, which was original while coming off realistic. Tye wanted to take care of Billie by any means necessary, even if it had him uncomfortable. Melanie Jayne, and her talented writing style had me all in from the beginning, and by the end, I needed more. She seamlessly transported me into their world, and I didn't want to leave it. Believe me, I know this review isn't doing this amazing story justice, so that just means that anyone reading this will have to go out and get the book, and then you will know! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Tyler is a very sexy, successful man. And the women love him and he love’s lots of women. When he tried to get Holly to have more than a bed buddy relationship, she shot him down and kicked him out. Plenty more out there
Billie is new to town and her friend has arranged for her to have dinner with Zoe and Tony, to make some new friends. They hit it off and Billie ended up going out with Zoe and her friends the following week. Lets just say she gets to meet Holly and it was very interesting.
The group of friends pull Billie into their circle and they are all so great to her. Tyler tries to keep a friends relationship with Billie and when he learns her secret he gets even more protective. He starts staying with Billie and they both actually start sleeping through the night.
I tried not to stare at the biggest bed I’d ever seen. - Billie Billie, quit looking at my bed and come here. - Tye
When feelings start to get stronger, Tye misunderstands something and ends up pulling back. Darn him. Billie isn’t sure what has happened and is heartbroken. Let’s just say that things work themselves out and we get to see some very hot and steamy scenes from these two
I thought I would never want to be intimate with a man. I was too damaged after everything.
When the past threatens to come out will Billie be strong enough to get through it? And what will happen when Tye’s past comes back as well?
I have to say that even with this book being as long as it was I still could have read on and on. I fell in love with these two and their story of finding true love. All of the secondary characters were off the charts great. I had several LOL moments with this whole crew of friends. There is so much packed into Best that you won’t want to put it down until your done. This is my first read in the series and I would say it could be read as a stand alone however I will be going back to catch up. 1-click and get started now.

Lots of characters with backstories, which readers are supposed to know from having read the previous books in the series. (I had not read them.) The ladies’ stories are briefly mentioned about 2/3 of the way through the book, but the men’s stories are never even hinted it.
The main female character, Billie, was abducted and repeatedly raped and sodomized a few years before this story starts, but that does not cause any problems when she began an intense sexual relationship with the main male character, Tye, after knowing him for a month or so. Readers are expected to believe that the fact that he slept in her bed for several weeks beforehand accounts for her lack of fear, but that entire plot-line was both unrealistic and unbelievable—particularly since he had a reputation as one of the city’s biggest playboys, who always chose women who weren’t interested in anything but a few romps in bed.
By the end of the story, readers know little more about the main characters, especially Tye, than they did at the beginning.
The book would have benefitted from the services of a good copy editor: it was riddled with grammatical errors and missing punctuation, as well as changes in the spelling of one (minor) character’s name.
Overall, a disappointing read. The two bright spots were that Billie was a full-figured woman and was happy with her physique, and the family that the secondary characters and Tye had created of people who cared about each other.

I was given the chance to read this book for an honest review and opinions. Let's get started. I didn't realize this was book #3. Curious to know if I might need to read the 1st two books or am I good to go? I see a lot of the folks are saying it can be read as a standalone, I didn't see or feel I was missing any info... but I am the type to love a good series, so when I get a free moment I will look into book 1 & 2. Love the cover. If you are a fan of a sweet romance, starting out as friends moving into the lovers type of read ..this might be the book for you. well developed characters, a quick read for me. You might wanna great some tissues with ya when you read through these pages ... if you are sentimental like I am ... just saying. I will look forward to read more from Melanie in the future. Must read! ( ;
Last review I said I was hooked on this series. Even more so with Billie & Tye! I’m not such a fan of series with different couples each book, but Melanie Jayne changed that for me. Each couple I love more than the last. I’m looking forward to who comes next!
I received a copy in exchange for a honest review Melanie Jayne writes another hit book in her newest title, Best. Best is a book about friends, family (blood relations or non), and second chances. Best is the third book in the Change series, and we get to see the characters we grew to love up to now. Best begins with Tyler Burke trying to encourage his sleeping partner, Holly Higgins, to take their relationship up a notch. He desires the relationships his friends have. Holly is not enthused with that idea and turns Tye down. Tye’s decision is to go back to his womanizing ways. Billie comes into the picture when she moves recently to Indianapolis and comes to meet Zoe and Tony. Tony sees a side of her and tries to enclose her in their tight group. As Forde, Tony and their wives include Billie into their family, Tye befriends Billie. An attraction begins, but the fire is contained within each other. As Billie starts to open up to her newly built family, can they heal the wounds deep inside her? The highlight of Best is the characters. The secondary characters build up both Billie and Tye in the story. We get to see how each family grows from the beginning of the Change Series until now. Also, Billie and Tye have an off the chart magnetism that is epic. It is fun to see their banter and notice how Tye learns to think of others instead of only himself. The storyline is engaging with a conflict that will leave you heated in fury for injustice. Never fear though, the Forde family is here. They will do everything in their power to protect on of theirs. Now that is what is epic in the story. Happy Reading!!!
After trying to leave the last behind and start a fresh life, Billie moves to the city where her girlfriend, Zoe lives. From the beginning, Zoe explained all she "knew" about Tyler Burke. She knew he was gorgeous, single for as long as she can remember, and know around town as the sex goddess playboy. So going into the meeting, Billie had a small pre-conceived notion of what exactly the town's sex toy was all about.
Tye is one of the most prestigious lawyers in town and makes bank because of that. But after all his bachelor days, he's ready to settle down and start a family. However, no one really wants to believe he's turned over this "adult leaf"; especially not his every night partner, Holly. When he mentions to her he wants to go serious, she immediately cuts everything off and wants to move outta Dodge. Trying to deal with the pain becomes a lot easier when he meets the drop dead gorgeous Billie
Both Billie and Tye have had lives that haven't really been horrible. Both are gorgeous and have pretty well off jobs (with Billie being a librarian and wanting to go into library law). I loved how Ms. Jayne slid Billie seamlessly into Tye's life, but it wasn't unrealistic. These two, deep down, need each other for so many reasons, and I loved watching the journey through it all!!
Heartache, hope, horror and happiness all within the pages of this book. I loved this book even though it was not my typical read but boy was my perception changed after a few page turns. Billie has had a rough past but is determined to rise above the scars and falls smack into a group of new friends that not only help her heal but fiercely protect her as she regains her strength. Sometimes the strongest, lasting love comes from starting out as friends which is how she begins with Tyler who is the notorious playboy of the group. He is a love 'em and leave 'em type of guy until he meets Billie. Something about her begins to change him and the two grow and change together. This is a must read book for everyone and Melanie Jayne is now on my watch list for new books. Don't judge a book by it's cover or blurb or you may pass this book by which would be a big mistake!
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review
A stunningly sweet romance from friends to lovers that really melted my heart. I love a great story where a man is protecting his woman. And the way this story outlined our hero, Tye treating Billie with such care and sweetness, had me absolutely IN LOVE with him. A romance featuring a damsel in distress and a hero rescuing her NEVER gets old and I feel this one is one of the BEST ones.
Melanie Jayne is now on my MUST WATCH list. Her writing is soft, sweet, sexy, and full of amazing characters, a great plot and irresistible care. This story really touched me and I loved the mix of sweet and sensual as well as the rocking chemistry. A well written read for sure!
Best gets a PERFECT FIVE SHOOTING STARS! I am in LOVE with this series and I can't wait to see what is next!
This is book 3 in the Change series and it features Tyler Burke and Billie James. I loved it! Tye handled the situation with Billie so perfectly. I didn't expect him to be so deep but he was. And Billie? I just wanted to hug her and tell her it would be all right. She was amazingly strong considering what she'd been through. Thank God for Forde, Tony and the rest of their group. I adore the dynamic of this community of friends. People that network with each other and have your back no matter what or when. I especially liked the group text system they had. BRILLIANT!
I can't wait to read the next book in this fantastic series!
This is book 3 in the Change series by Melanie Jayne about Tyler Burke and Billie James. This was my first book of Melanie Jayne and I must say I total enjoyed every page. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone book. It’s a sweet loving and emotional story about two characters finding each other. The author’s description and love for her characters are shown in her writing style. I received a free copy of the book and have voluntarily written an honest review. My full review can be found at readingfortheloveofbooks.com
Love can move mountains. It can open hearts, heal wounds and protect even the most wounded of hearts. Best is a story of survival, hope and healing that is powered by love, but inspired by strength. That inner power that pushes a person, when they feel like they have nothing left. Melanie Jayne captures that spirit within Billie. All her struggles, heartaches and fears have shaped her life, but meeting and loving Tye could be the balm she needs to heal her soul. Highly emotional read!
I love the fight in all her female characters. Through everything they have been through, they fight for what they want and come out on top. Love, love, love this series!
how do you stop your heart from falling, how do step away from what you know could be perfect even if just being friends is for the best. Ty and Billie have a close friendship, they both have a past he doesn't do relationships but sleeps in Billie's bed every night, she's not sure if more is what she's ready for. Ty has wanted Billie at first sight but knows her scars are deep and slow is the only way to go but he knows that just being friends maybe for the best but his heart disagrees.
