I have been waiting, and not so patiently, for many of the storylines in the Onyx Webb series to finally reach a crescendo, and I was certainly rewarded in book nine. Authors Fenton and Waltz brilliantly meshed the past and the present and finally pulled most of the characters into the same story, at the same time, in the same period of time. Sounds complicated, truly, and I'm sure it is on the authors' end. But as a testament to their unwavering control over the many scattered elements in this series, they managed to flawlessly deliver the otherwise complicated story in a completely uncomplicated way.
To top off my excitement of finally having most of the characters in the same time period (and plane!), I was most excited about the unrelated storylines concerning Stan Lee and Gerylyn. Both are quite pivotal to the events in this book, for various and different reasons, but they share a commonality this time around, and it deals with life and death.
While this series has always been suspenseful and has never had a dull moment, the authors surpassed their previous examples of suspense in this book. Everything this time around had a sense of urgency, even down to the smallest, seemingly inconsequential thing. And really, even things I knew I didn't have to worry about, I still found myself worrying about. Like a bucket of soup, what could possibly be threatening about a bucket of soup? But surely, I thought something would be wrong with a bucket of soup because of the sheer amount of dread and suspense that the pages were emanating.
Overall, book 9 was the book I've been waiting for from the beginning, the one that pulls everything together and delivers the justice and injustice in equal measure. Everything and everyone came together seamlessly, and I can't wait to see what the authors bring in book 10 of this series. Highly recommended, do yourself a favor and read this series.

When I get the email telling me that Book Nine of “Onyx Webb” is about to be released…well…I feel like a kid on Christmas morning, as I eagerly boot up my Kindle app and click open the book. Taking a deep breath, I touch base with the variety of emotions that I’m about to experience ranging from flabbergasted to melancholic to aghast to downright scintillated to jittery. Jittery was a big one this time around. Wait, that’s technically not an emotion. Welcome to the world that is Onyx Webb where the woven tale resembles a knotty pile of knitting that you must slowly unravel if you have any hope of keeping up with these amazing characters.
Now, if you were expecting spoilers, tough. They wouldn’t make sense to you if you haven’t read any of the earlier books. Best I can tell you is that this series is a bit like Twin Peaks meets Steel Magnolias in the Garden of Good and Evil. So if that gets your curiosity up then get into the series, you won’t be disappointed.
Well, okay, one spoiler. Holy smokes, Episode 27! You’ll want to cover your mirrors after this. I actually had to stop reading and go work off the jitters at the park. Thankfully, no ghost sightings.

I can truly and honestly say book 9 in the
Onyx Webb
series is my absolute favorite of all the books at this point. I’ve loved the other books tremendously, but book 9 blows them all out of the water, in my opinion.
Onyx Webb 9 has quite a bit more action than the other books. It takes place the evening of the Eclipse, which according to Gerylyn, is also the night the spirits will try to come through from the other side. If the spirits get through, in order for them to survive, they will need to partake in the same feeding habits of the other characters we know to be ghosts.
Declan is still holding on for dear life, but you can tell he’s fading. Stan Lee is still pretending to be a functioning member of society. Mika is still a thieving, broke skank. Koda is being put to the test as the planner for the Restoring Savannah Foundation party.
I know there is only one book left in the series. I am absolutely DYING to find out what happens next. However, I’m almost afraid to read the next book because then I know the story is over. The Onyx Webb series is one that you wish could go on forever, but also want to see how it ends. If you haven’t started this series, it’s not too late to start.

Onyx Webb: Book Nine: Episodes 25-28 is the penultimate entry in the best serial novel of the new millennium. By now I have run out of superlatives with which to describe this highly addictive series. In case you haven't been paying attention, the series is a serial ghost story, thriller, fantasy, murder mystery, police/crime procedural and more. The writing has been consistently outstanding. The plotting is complex, the pacing so fast that it is very hard to quit reading once one starts. Of the 9 books so far, I have read 7 of them straight through, stopping only to sleep and go to work. None of them has taken more me than 2 or 3 days to read.
So here are, at the long-anticipated Mulvaney Savannah benefit that occurs on December 20-21, at the first conjunction of the Winter Solstice and full lunar eclipse in about 400 years. Fenton and Waltz have been hinting that this affair will be a blow the doors off once in a lifetime event and so it is. Almost all of the plot threads that F&W have been so deftly weaving for a few years now come together in a Grand Guignol blow out. Characters that have been left on the back burner for the last few episodes return and each of the 4 episodes is a little non-stop fast paced gem.
This is the most violent, ghost and murder-fillled entry yet. There are some expected deaths (39 in all) but also some huge surprises. And of course death is not aways the end for a leading protagonist since several of our main characters including Onyx, Stormy, Pipi and several others have been dead for most or all of the entire series. So it remains to be seen what happens to some of characters who bite the dust. But we're not done yet. Newt and Maggie have finally figured out who the leg collector is and Stan knows he is in trouble. Declan has left a rather long confessional for Koda and Bruce et al., and Onyx comes to an important realization. There is is a lot left to clean up beyond Stan, Noah, Onyx, Newt and Maggie and the Mulvaneys. But is is going to be pretty hard to top Book Nine which was clearly the most exciting entry so far.
Looking forward to the final endgame.

I received this book to give an honest review.
Wow this was a strong book as far as everything now coming together.
Everything has a web that is being attached to the previous web somewhere though not everyone in the story may not know it. Though as the night goes on everyone will slowly get the answers they need and those who thought they were good at hiding will be uncovered.
In this book we are now in the present and no more going between the time frames of the past to the present though some ghosts may just come through. There is a party going on in the Mulvaney's house and this is where things will hit its peak. Will the FBI finally have caught Stan Lee or is he out of their reach once again? We will find out who this evil person is that filled with darkness that Juniper is running from in the other plane of existence.
The plot is superb and just draws you in the characters are well written there is not much more I can possible say except, ever since I started this series I have been hooked and it has always been hard for me to write my review without giving anything away. Lets just say ghosts will come about, things from the past will make their way known, a battle will happen between light and darkness and so much more. All I can say is pick up this series I do believe you will be hooked by the time you finish the first chapter in the first book! I will be sad when this series ends but of course like the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end."

I have to say that while I enjoyed book nine it was not what I expected and there were some parts that just didn't feel right. I was on the fence about if I should give this three or four stars and finally went with four because I enjoy the characters so much and my enjoyment of them overcomes any issues I may have had with the payout of the buildup of the last few books. There were certain things about how events feel out that just felt off to me. After all the buildup to the eclipse the actual events of it felt a little small potatoes. Yes people died but the way this was being built up I just expected more catastrophe and mayhem on a larger canvas. However the personal moments between characters and the overall interest I have in these characters after reading so much about them kept my interest and my appreciation for not only how relatable they are but also their variety of personality which was extremely noticeable with so many different characters interacting with one another. I have to say that a couple of things towards the end just felt a bit off including the FBI clean up job and the rush of Noah's actions at the end but still very much worth reading if you have read what came before and I tore through it quickly.

The penultimate book.
This is the penultimate book and the characters and times are converging and for the first time we find ourselves in one year, 2010 the 20th and 21st of December to be precise. The night of the Solstice Eclipse Ball and if Gerylyn Stollers prediction is correct the night could be cataclysmic.
So the run down:
Koda is busy with last minute details including things he assumed Beatrice would handle.
Robyn has agreed to work bar for the evening although she's not entirely sure why. Mika needs to attend but she doesn't have an invitation, the Southern Gentlemen has his special knife. Juniper needs to find Gerylyn but she's not alone the darkness is also there. Quinn needs to speak to the governor because Wyatt is due to be put to death, Newt has a break through, Ellen is mad at Noah and Onyx is still trying to get over him. Chloe is at the Ball along with her daughter Kissy, Bruce isn't happy, Stormy is worried about security and the stupid gate, it's Olympia's big night and Nathaniel is watching.
The list goes on and on, most of the main players are heading for the ball and it looks like it will be spectacular.
Now I'm left waiting for the final book.

Well, the time has come for the Solstice Eclipse event, when a tear in the lining between the living and the dead occurs and allows the dead to enter the realm of the living. And what better time than during the Restoring Savannah Foundation Masquerade Ball at the Mulvaney mansion. All the main characters were there, except for Onyx Webb, who’s still in Crimson Cove, and of course Wyatt Scrogger who is in his final hours on death row. Those in the know could feel that something was going to happen, it was inevitable. The tension in the air was palpable. Then as the predicted events start unfolding, it was like watching an explosion and not being able to do a thing about it.
I knew this one was going to be a shocker and it didn’t disappoint me. But I didn’t expect to enjoy the chaos as much as I did. Of course, not everything is positive, but it definitely is satisfying. Olympia Fudge is a hoot, and was certainly the life of the party. Stan Lee is still the menace he always was. Does he get caught? How many will survive the ball? Will Wyatt get pardoned? And what is next for Onyx? My lips are sealed!

Onyx Webb Book Nine by both Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz has been my new favorite series. This book series has it all and has everything readers want in each book. The characters are complex and realistic. Yes, there are dead characters...like ghosts but they so make this an interesting and unforgettable read. I love it all. These two writers are definitely masters of fiction writing. They have combined parts of both the past and present in ways that make it easy to follow along and understand. It's hard to do that in any particular book, but Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz have succeeded each and everytime. Readers can also find a variety of every genre known to readers inside this novel. Yes, I'm serious. Yes, it works out perfectly. Onyx Webb is the main character of this series and I'm so sad to see this series coming to a close. Action, adventure, romance and mystery on every page. Overall, I highly recommend it to readers worldwide.

I ate up Book Nine in two plane trips, on my way to and from Charleston. I don't think I could have picked a better book for this trip, either. Most of this book took place in Charleston, which made the read and the experience all the better. This book was tense and so emotional. I think Fenton and Waltz really hit their stride with this one, and I was so pleased to have an extra episode. I went through such a variety of emotions throughout this read, and you know it's good when a book can make you both laugh and cry.
I'm dying for the next book, but so sad it will be the last. This series is amazing.

oh wow, what a book. I have enjoyed all the others so far but this one was really, really good. Where is the 20 stars I can put here? This book was very addicting, a fast moving story and a great one at that. I was surprised that one character was a ghost, which I had no clue about until this book. I really loved the way the book ended, and now I will anxiously await for the next book . Kudos to Andrea and Richard for such great books. I so wish these books would be a tv series or a movie. They are that great! I like them all and I will be sad to see them end, which I hope they dont really.

I understand the authors are revamping this with new covers and planning more books for the series.
I hope tighter editing is planned, as well.
I think I'm done by the time I've finished the tenth book, though. I think all stories should come to an end, no matter how profitable they may be.
Then again, never say never.

Book 9 does not disappoint (none of the Onyx Webb books do). I just gobbled this up. It was well-written with a great build up of suspense. I'll just say there was mayhem in the Mulvaney Mansion. Just fantastic with so many threads weaving together. If you are new to these books, start with book 1 and you will not look back. You will thank me.

Finally the plots merge!

The end is near...

I know I have said "this is the best one", with each book, but I have to say, Book 9 may be the best one (Will wait for Book 10 to make a definitive choice). If you have been reading the series, you won't believe the ending. And you won't believe how the web is tightening and tightening around the characters. We know from previous books in this series, just because a character dies, doesn't mean they are dead. So many questions to be answered in Book 10. This is a series that you will hate to see end, yet you can't wait to see how it ends.
