Again, Another Unique Story

Love the way you shown what PTSD effects veterans. Being one myself, I seen this type story played out in real life.

Interesting, and troubling in regards to PTSD and veteran psychological issues.... Pretty well written though.

One thing about this series I thought we needed more of was Tabby, and in book 5 and this short we get exactly that. This novella is from her perspective while she goes through the recovery of regrowing a new arm and legs, and tries to help a friend from the academy come to terms with civilian life. I'm confused why this novella is listed as taking place after cutpurse when she already has gone through the regrowth in that story, but it isn't a huge deal.

I'm not the biggest fan of the plot in this one, but it does let us see more of Tabby. Getting some time from her perspective is just what the series needed, even if I don't like the story here. What is meant to be a twist at the end was blatantly apparent from the very start to everyone but the characters in the story. It made it difficult to get through to the end.

After this book I feel like her character is fully rounded and belongs in the story now. She was acting as a roadblock for Liam, but it never made sense with her being pretty much a cardboard cutout. Now she is a fully developed character, and I'm looking forward to seeing her in future books as part of the main crew.

Though I still don't like the idea of these short novellas as part of the series, I can understand their use. They can give characters who didn't have much page time in the main novels a fuller story, and that is useful. I'd still prefer if it was done in the main books, but I'll take what I can get.

Very good tale

If you are reading the Privateer Tales this is a must read. It builds on the characters and story lines of the first 6 books. Plenty of action and drama set in the future . If you like science fiction you will love it, but be sure to read the other books in order to get the full background and what the characters have been through first. Each book is very good and full of action and adventure set in the future. Sign up for McFarlane's news letters and you will be able to get the first book for free. Happy reading.

Again, this is another short story that is a side track from the main Privateer series, primarily involving Tabby, Liam's girlfriend.

Whilst I did enjoy reading the short story, I felt that the story of how Tabby was injured should have been covered somehow, as in book 6 she was fine and helping Liam and gang, then in book 7, she is recovering after a major battle.

This sadly left a feeling that some of the story has been skipped

Great story about Tabby, for some reason people say shes selfish but literally the whole book is about her helping others. I think most are just pushy she wont put out to Liam before marriage like it's a sin not to spread her legs because he wants some. Also they say Tabby wont commit but I dont see Liam asking her to marry him, from dating to ming distance it has all been Tabby taking the first step with Liam to much a pansy.

Awkward

I have enjoyed this series but was disappointed with this story. Tabs keeps looking for excuses to avoid committing to Liam and he keeps acting like a harlequin romance hero who will wait for her until the end of the earth. The action was good but the character development was shallow

I think these shorter books that are kind of an adjunct to the privateers series are fairly weak in general. Tabby in general is my least favorite character because of some annoying repetitive characterizations and her general likability is pretty low. She is often physically abusive to Liam and overly jealous I think.

Tabby rides again

As the title suggests Tabby gets out of regeneration with a new arm and legs with Liam there providing support. When Tabby gets a call from a friend and fellow vet\survivor she goes on a social call that ends up being much more! As always well written characters and plot. A very enjoyable story.

Tabby on steroids

Os mo how lost the track on this series and wound up on 10 and figured to go back and see what I missed. This is a short focus on the back story of one character, but I don’t remember reading how she got so injured that mend tank as needed. I did appreciate a good look at PTSD that was a large part of the focus here.

This story didn’t go the way I expected, but it’s OK to be surprised now and again. If you look too closely at the story it doesn’t quite fit together but it was still a decent read. However, I am beginning to get a bit annoyed with Tabby and I hope she becomes less self-centred in the next books.

Not bad, short and too the point.

This was a fast and easy read. It helped to develop the character of Tabby. But is has been the weakest overall of the 7th book. A bit of a whodunit mystery.

Not my favorite

It isn't just how the story ended, although that didn't help, it just felt like this one was thrown together. Could easily have been left out of the series completely.

Short longs or Long shorts?

What is it with these series books? One's just getting into a nice story and BOOM, it's over! So, warning, it undoubtedly had a baring on a later book, so read it.

Good read....

Boy the things that these people go through. It's kind of like, do they ever get a break? But it just adds to the back story of the main characters in the books. Going to the next book!

Another side story. While finally on par with the main novels. Why do these characters keep ending up with "adventures" that no one else could possibly have.

Good Short Story

This author has created a great universe in which all of his books take place. All of the books are slightly related but stand on their own.

More twists than a tangle of fishing line.

This one needed attention to story line. Taking place mostly on land, the reader gets confused or was it me?

A bit disjointed

Somewhat scattered. Fairly far fetched, even for a science fiction story. Still an interesting read, though I'm not sure how it fits into the series.

Another good read

I like the way the author takes a character and designates a stand alone story of their entrance/ back story.

I have enjoyed the rest of this series, but this one was not great. I spent $.99 on it and I wish I hadn't. I an going to try one more book in the series just to give him a chance.
