I want more than a hookup...

Last Hookup was a standalone by Luke Steel. It was also my first book by Steel.
Clark was the head of a company that was looking to relocate its headquarters to New Orleans. He was in town secretly looking at options.
Sara was a New Orleans local. She met Clark while she was the designated driver for the bachelorette party she was hosting for her half sister. She was mysterious and the only thing we really knew about her at first was that she was beautiful and sexy and her friends called her the "irresistible one."
Last Hookup was a fast and sexy read. It was told in a single POV, Clark's. As a brief novella, it lacked depth and dimension, but it was hot and still totally enjoyable. If it were a novel, I would rate it a 3 without the depth, but rated it a 4 for novella guidelines. For a short book I liked Steel's writing style and will venture to his other books when looking for a quick and entertaining story.

Sweet as a Beignet with lots of Powdered Sugar!
Another delicious sexy treat from Luke Steel and I am not talking about the Beignet!!! I personally love these books narrated by a male POV who tells you how he feels, what he desires and the scrumptiously hot things he wants to do with his women when he has them in his arms.
This novella takes place in the city where "le bon temps roule", the city of New Orleans. He captures that feeling you get when you first visit this city. There is no other city like it...A perfect place of mystery to find a mysterious lover for some hot and steamy sex.
The author applies a deft touch to the erotic scenes. They are careful of the woman on the page, therefore careful to the woman reading and instructional for any man to read. Bottom line, the scenes are unflinching in delightful detail and sizzling in audacious hotness!!!
But this character, Clark, knows a good thing when he sees it, feels it and tastes it. The woman he comes to physically desire becomes his heart's desire. How could this ever work? He lives in New York city and she there in New Orleans. They agreed on a "no questions asked" fling.
The resolution to the story is surprisingly romantic coming from a man, but then again this guy is special. He seems to know what we "romance junkies" need. A man that knows what a woman needs is a rare and beautiful thing...one click this one and meet him in his "Last Hookup".

A sweet simple love story when they weren't looking for love.
Takes place in New Orleans and has a nice feel for the place.
It was supposed to be a one night stand between Clark and Sara. She has never had a ONS and he gives her the low down; no last names or personal info, leave with no fuss.
But come morning, he is having second thoughts when he hears her sneaking quietly out. She isn't at all like the other ladies. He hadn't really expected her to leave without a good morning kiss (or more).
One night leads to more but still no personal info... or is there?
Both MCs are decent people and it is a safe read.
Really enjoyed this and will def be reading more by this author.

I admit that Clark comes off as a player but there is something different when he meets Sara it changes his life. This is my first book by the author and I really enjoyed it the characters are easy to connect with and you can't help cheering them on. The romance between Clark and Sara is steamy but also very sweet. I highly recommend for a steamy quick romance read that you check it out.

Last Hookup is my favorite Luke Steel book. It's got a sexy hero, a sweet, artistic heroine, and a hot as hell setting, New Orleans. Clark is a land developer who has come to New Orleans in search of a potential new location for his business. He meets Sara at a bar where she and her sister are celebrating her sister's upcoming wedding by having her bachelorette party. Clark is instantly attracted to Sara with her sky high red heels and clingy dress, and when they share a steamy kiss, he knows he has to have her before he leaves New Orleans.
During their one night stand, Clark convinces to let go and just have fun. That she's so responsive, yet delightfully shy at first, is a contrast Clark can't get enough of. Even the next morning when she attempts to slip out before he wakes up, captures his attention so much that he runs down to the lobby while just wearing a towel so that he can convince her to see him again. Yes, it's going against their rules of no last names, one night only, but he doesn't care, Sara's attached herself to his mind and he wants more. And more he gets, from tours of beautiful, vibrant art, to eating powdery, yummy beignets and crawfish, and lots more steamy encounters. But yet, as they're falling for each other, they know there's an expiration date on their fling, because he's leaving soon.
I love how he ends up finding out just exactly who Sara is and how she fits into his business world, and then that sweet, sweet ending. Luke Steel has outdone himself with this sweet, sexy novella. Can't wait more from him!

This was a very satisfying read and feel good story. Sometimes I am looking for a book that isn't filled with angst or misunderstandings that lead to separation. Sometimes I just like to read how people fall for each other and believe in, not only love at first sight, but happily ever afters. This falls into that category. I read the book in one sitting. It made me smile and I liked that while the characters were trying to not pressure the other they were each falling towards the same thing. Really glad that I received this ARC for my unbiased review and can easily recommend if you are looking for a fairly quick read that is both believable and left me feeling happy.

The main characters are drawn to each other but they both do not know if they dare to take the chance and be with each other.
But as always life has its own opinion.
The chemistry is so lovely described and the story line has more to it than just raw sex.

This is officially my favorite Luke Steel book to date. I loved the instant attraction between Clark and Sara. Surrounded by a bachelorette party Clark finds he fits on very well with all the girls, but is fascinated by Sara. What starts out as a one night stand, becomes two night, three, a week. The attraction runs deep and they find they have much to share with each other, with the exception of their last names and phone numbers.
When their week is up, he's set to return home, having been in New Orleans on business. Business he's put on the back burner while he's been on fire with Sara. Sara's been checking her phone, waiting for something.
As their time draws to a close and they part ways, he finds he needs her, and accidentally discovers who she is. She is surprised to see him and to discover the rest of the truth about him.
Their instant attraction, obvious connection becomes their "Last Hookup". The ending and bonus pages were perfect.
Last Hookup is a fun, sexy, light-hearted story and I loved it!

A Great Steamy Story with a Great Guy
This is my first book by Like Steel. I'm interested to see how men write romance. I have to say that I adored Clark. A man who is both a gentleman and sexy. The book is written from his point of view. A one night stand turns in to love. It's sexy and sweet and I loved the book until the ending. I also signed up for the newsletter to see the bonus pages of what happened one year later. They were married and had a kid. You would think with all of that fooling around birth control would be a concern for her. would love to see some childfree authors write romance where the woman doesn't want kids. There are millions of childfree men and women who don't want kids and I would love to see them in print, saying no and shocking other characters. A great well written story otherwise.

The last few books by Luke Steel have not been my favorite but Last Hookup was an absolute winner for me! This short, meaningful novella tells the story of Clark, a real estate development owner who is in New Orleans looking for property to build his new headquarters. He doesn't want anyone knowing he is in town so he can search without prices for land being raised because of what he is looking to buy.
He heads to the bar one night instead of staying in his room alone and gets invited to join a bachelorette party. He met the maid of honor who was DD for the group and was ordering drinks at the bar.....a beautiful woman who immediately caught his attention with her red stilettos. He knew she would end up in his bed but what he didn't know was this would be his last hookup.

I really enjoyed this book. The setting in New Orleans was perfect, I felt like I was there seeing everything as it was described. Even though the ending was a little predictable, i didn't mind because it was a happy one. Clark and Sara had great chemistry and sex scenes never got repetitive or boring like some books tend to. I would definitely recommend if your up for an enjoyable, but quick read.

Another quick and steamy read from Luke Steel. This time round you have a businessman hooking up with a sexy siren who was attending a bachelorette at the hotel he was staying at. What was supposed to be a one night stand, turns into two, three...they clearly have chemistry. There has been a marked improvement in Steel's writing. Looking for something in between books, or short on time, this book will solve your problems.

After not really liking the previous books of his I've read before, this one is good. They met in a bar. The H was in the area scoping out possible land for his business and the h is there for a bachelorette party. They had a ONS but both wanted more than one night. It was a good read with no drama. No ow/om. No epilogue and you have to sign up to see the bonus chapter. I just really wish it's included already.

Last Hookup is a quick sexy love story. I love that it was told in a male point of view. Clark and Sara meet at a bar and have a one night stand that turns into a week together. They had great chemistry together and the kind of insta love that can grow into something everlasting. Luke Steel has written another great novella and I look forward to reading more books by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is a fast paced quick read that starts off hot and ends even hotter. Clark is in town for business and meets a local, Sara. Both agreeing to a one night stand and no questions asked. If you have never read one of Luke Steels sexy shorts, you are missing out. The Last Hookup is sexy and sweet. Clark the sexy as hell CEO of a Land Developing Company, finds himself in a way he never thought he would, wondering what he did wrong after a one night stand leaves and him wanting more. Clark and Sarah's story is so sexy, you won't want to put it down.
