I really like the discussions about how the economy and globalization affect the working class, but the topics did get a bit preachy because heroine Mikuri supports a more homegrown effort than a global market approach where things are cheaper in cost and quality. Where this manga is failing to engage me, however, is through the main relationship between Mikuri and her fake husband. Even so, I do recommend this manga! It offers a lot of food for thought besides the romantic complications and dramatics from other josei manga.
A good manga for adults, not due to sexual content (at least so far), but because there are actually some interesting topics discussed by the characters such as male/ female dynamics, globalization, and the economy. This isn’t a major part of the story, I just found it interesting coming from the typical homework/ beach/ school festival chit chit of shojo stories. The central part of the story does center around adults and their relationships. Some funny bits. I might’ve given it 4 ⭐️ but I don’t love the art style. It’s not bad, just not my taste.
Reread 2020: Still 5 stars. I cant believe I didn't write a review of my previous read. It was excellent. What I love most about the story is the dialogue where the characters discuss contemporary problem like problems of employment, things at work place, marriage as an option etc. These things are relatable and in some ways broaden up my perspective as an adult. Worth every second of my time rereading it!
