Layers
Struggling to understand God’s divine purpose Antonelle and her daughter, Destiny, each go through cycles of turmoil while they learn the true meaning of love, trust, and healing. They both face the biggest test on their separate learning forgiveness!
Antonelle has a rough start to life. She’s guarded, abused, and broken beyond repair, at least that’s what she thinks. That is, until she meets Mrs. Gloria. Mrs. Gloria introduces her to a side of life that Antonelle has no clue exists. All she knows is dysfunction so when Mrs. Gloria introduces her to God, her entire life changes.
Along with finding God, Antonelle finds peace in her friendship with Jerome which grows into something much more. Antonelle and Jerome eventually give birth to a beautiful daughter, Destiny. Antonelle believes that life as she knew it is over and that her daughter will have the life she always wanted as a girl. Her expectations for her daughter are not met, due to Destiny wanting to live life on her on terms.
Destiny finds herself on a path of destruction, a path that her parents tried to protect her from. Destiny learns the hard way just how important it is to be loved by people who care about you. She finds herself lost, addicted, abused and rejected. Only the love and protection of her parents will give her the strength, determination, and love she needs to truly live again.
Antonelle and Destiny will show reader’s that no matter where you come from everyone has their share of struggle, but even with struggles God gives us the power to change ourselves and our circumstances. Layers reminds us that we are not powerless or without authority. Under all of our layers of pain, shame, abuse, and rejection lies purpose.
