Black bear shifter, Graham Roth, has always been a loner, but he’s never felt lonely until now. Seeing all the members of his clan joyfully mated makes him happy, but deep down, he worries about his own fate. In his experience, women stay away from glasses wearing computer geeks.

Curvy girl, Sierra Bennett, knows she will never find the one. As it turns out, tall, round and plain are attributes that are just not appealing to men, and though she wishes things were different, her inexperience with the opposite sex isn’t likely to change.

When Graham finds his mate staring at him in his favorite bakery, he can’t believe his luck…until he chases her down the street and acts like a fool. Sierra can’t believe the hot guy from the bakery tracked her down. In an effort to change her life, she accepts his offer to make things right between them, and nothing is ever the same again.

**Could've done without Graham mentally thinking that though he's fantasized about women in the past (so unnecessary to know that as we're trying to be invested in him and Sierra as a couple), it's different with the heroine. All we needed to know was that everything with her was nothing like he'd ever experienced. Reading that he's fantasized about women before makes Sierra seem less special.**

This was very disappointing. All of the emotions fell flat and there was such potential for a good grovel, but Sierra ended up apologizing for leaving when she justifiably felt betrayed and lied to. Graham doesn't even apologize for taking her new job away. I get why: you just found your mate and she's about to move 2 hours away and you want her to stick around long enough to convince her to stay. And I get why he would be unapologetic about that manipulation if he's feeling possessive about his mate. That's great and all for a shifter book, but you know what else is included in shifter books? Consideration for how your actions could make your mate feel. Sierra, at the end, is even telling him how her parent's manipulation made her feel, but Graham never acknowledges it. It's like every stupid thing he did is fine because he's her mate and he's just in love with her, but she can't feel upset about his manipulation?

Graham was sweet, but also pretty fucking stupid for such a supposed smart guy. I liked how bumbling and nervous he was in the beginning but then he just turned two-dimensional halfway through.

The plot potential was there and I really think Ruby Shae would benefit from fleshing out their emotions more and making the story longer-- maybe by actually having conversations? The characters lacked depth, even for a short story; I was very disappointed, especially with Graham.

And Sierra was ok for a heroine in a shifter book, but she lacked a purpose in this story; she was kind of just there. Heroines in shifter books generally have a lot more backbone and they fight against their mate steamrolling their emotions. When she left Graham after his lame-ass reveal, I was like finally! Girl's gonna take some time to herself, get a job, and maybe just return Graham's stupid phone via post instead of falling for his dumb little trap. But almost out of nowhere, she loses her steam when she realizes Graham purposefully switched their phones so that she had to come back, and has a change of heart without REALLY thinking about it. She's literally just suddenly like, "I have to go see him" and bring him his stupid fucking cinnamon rolls.

I'm kind of pissed with the missed potential here. I haven't read the other books in this series yet, but this one caught my attention first, so I'm not feeling too optimistic about those.

I am sorry to say goodbye to this series. I have enjoyed every book. But I have read everything I can by this author and loved them all if I am honest.

Graham is the last member of the clan without a mate, he was the technical genius of the bear shifters and was the go to guy when anyone needed information. Fearing that he was never going to find his mate and he will be alone forever watching his makeshift family from the outskirts. Teagan isn’t having her best friend Graham feeling left out and decides she’s taking him to their favourite bakery when Graham spots his angel Sierra and the world disappeared and she was all that mattered he had finally found his mate. Now all he had to do was convince her that they belonged together.

Sierra is never expecting to meet anyone that finds her attractive, she’s too tall and curvy and not exactly what guys look for in a bed partner leaving her innocent in many ways and very refreshing. She looks at Graham and sees a sexy built man who wears not the geek he thinks that he is. She only has two weeks before she leaves for good but could she have the future she really wants if she was to stay with Graham?

There are a few hic cups along the way but the chemistry between these too is too hot to miss. They are perfect for each other. Fab short read with a panty melting heart warming romance.

I tried to submit a review in Amazon but it was declined because I spelled out the "C" word in the title line. I love this author's work, but the increased proliferation of FBombs are a turn off. Also, lately the "C" word has been showing up in his "romance" stories.

His stories are engaging, sweetly humorous, and emotionally tense in tone and placement WITHOUT the lazy writer's use of the FBomb. Please, spare this female romance reader from being backhand slapped by using the "C" word in a sexplay scene; there's nothing romantic about the word.

I am aware that more and more men are reading romance and that they are perfectly fine with reading FBomb littered stories with "C" words dumped in here and there. However, from my first hand experience as a WOMAN, men who actually LIKE women don't use the "C" word. Why? Because it's a derogatory word. So why use it in romance when describing sexplay?

Ladies, please help me understand the appeal of seeing these two words in romance stories. I just don't get it?!!!

Ruby Saved The Best For Last

Graham by Ruby Shae is book 5 of the Blackbeary Creek series and it is my new favorite of the 5. I love all of Ruby's books but the Blackbeary Creek Clan have a very special place in my heart. Each book in the series is a standalone with a HEA.

Graham, a bear shifter, is the last of his clan to still be without his mate and the feelings of loneliness grow stronger everyday. He's no longer able to hide it from those that love him and have started to express their concern. Then, out of nowhere, his mate is standing in front of him. Her name is Sierra and she has certainly noticed him too. They can't take their eyes off of each other. But, when Graham approaches Sierra, he stumbles over his words and makes a mess of her first impression of him. Will he get a second chance? Can Sierra see beyond the shy, nervous Graham to the sweet, loving man beneath the surface?

Graham, he's the last of his clan to not have a mate. He's starting to feel as if he'll never find her.
His clan mates are getting worried about him, he's skipped a brunch and a barbecue in the same week. His best friend drags him out to his favorite bakery for his favorite sweet, cinnamon rolls. All of a sudden the bell over the door catches his attention, and he looks up. His mate is right there.

He begins to understand what the other men went through as they found their mates, he hacked into her life, found out how her parents had blocked every change she planed to make in her life, and how she finally got past them and lined up a job in a neighboring town. He called the owner of the Lodge, a friend of his, and blocked that move for her also. Then couldn't figure out how after he told her he was a bear shifter she freaked out because he had taken her new job from her.

Like all Ms. Shae's books, this is fun, short and laugh out loud delightful. Five stars for another grand book about her bears.

Just an awesome story. Sweet romance with a fairytale warm the heart!

Sierra was following her parents wishes until she claimed her independence. She made choice s by following her heart. Graham the last of this shifter clan as the bachelor without a mate its always tough when everyone has a mate but you. The author wrote 5 books in the series all stand alone but the series evolves well. The characters are written so well. Violence 0, sex2.

I was really looking forward to this book and then Graham had to go and ruin it by sinking her new job without a thought to how she’d feel. Blah!

I love man who knows his way around gadgets

A good ending to a series. Graham is the hottest tech savvy bear shifter drop dead gorgeous I want melting my panties off. But unfortunately he's Sierra's mate. Unfortunately for me but for her. I love the chemistry these two have and how each person solves each other's dilemma. He knew she was his mate but couldn't tell her in the beginning and that she was a virgin. She needed to get that out of the way and she asked him. It was comical but sweet and romantic at the same time. Graham had to find a way to let Sierra know he was a bear shifter and stay with him. He called in a favor to Jasper Locke over in Maple Bear Falls...Is there gonna be a story coming soon...any who, there's a phone mix up, cinnamon rolls snatch and grab out of houses, sex In forest, you know all that good stuff, arguments and make-up sex...good stuffiness...get the book. I'm really sad it has to end.

I don’t know how many that is reading this review have been falling along with the Blackbeary Creek series. This book is a standalone and has been one amazing series. Of course I have never read anything by Ruby Shae that I have not liked. She is truly an amazing author. I have wonder if this is the last book in the series or is Ruby will find a way to make it continue. Graham is the last bear in the clan to find his mate.

Graham was freaking sexy bear shifter. I just loved him. He was built and had looks but he was also a geek. Now me personally I find a man with a brain a sexy thing. Graham was a computer genius. He was also good about finding out information on people if needed. I have liked Graham from the beginning even when he was introduced in the previous series, so it was good to see a book brought out about him.

You could not help but love Sierra Bennett. She was this hot curvy woman. I loved that when Graham first saw her it was like he was looking at a goddess or an angel. It was like his world had stoped and he had to take in her beauty. Here he was hoping to find his mate and now here she was.

Sierra Bennett was a brave one. I almost found her personality refreshing and funny at times. I believe she found courage that she did not know she had. Come on it had to be hard to ask him for the type of favor to pay his debt that she did. It was a douse trust me. Sorry got to read the book to find out more.

I love that no matter what the others in clan go through they do not go through it alone. It seems like the others are there to offer support when needed. They are truly a close family.

Graham will go at great lengths to win and keep Sierra close. He truly just wants time to win his mate and show her how good they can be together. The problem is will he take it to far and drive her away?

This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.
