Vasilije Markovic is the prince of the Serbian mafia and one of the most powerful men in Chicago. His smile may be razor sharp, but he’s crueler than the devil.

I’m playing a dangerous game and betting my life I’m going to win. I pretend to be his pawn. I do as he says and move where he tells me, letting him think he’s in control as I position myself for revenge.

Every turn brings us closer. His grin doesn’t seem as evil when we’re alone. Behind closed doors, I welcome his unrelenting and vicious personality. He’s confessed all his secrets, but I’m holding one back and it’s a game changer.

If I survive the board, this pawn turns into a queen. I become the most powerful player and send all the other pieces running. To get what I want, I must make sacrifices, but am I willing to draw the line at him?

He looked like a guy who wanted to fuck me and throw me away, just like my father had done to my mother. The difference was I knew who I was dealing with. I might not outsmart the devil, but I was willing to deal with him.

If it's dark, depraved, and with a splash of kinky...this girl is ALL over it. What? Why are you looking at me like that? It just so happens that I have a serious reader hard-on for the fucked up ones. And prince of the Serbian mafia, Vasilije Markovic? Oh he's every single kind of fucked up. *pervy shudder*
His tongue tangled with mine as we battled for control over my mouth. I lost, of course. He was the devil and tasted like sin. Dark, delicious evil.

Pretending to be the pawn in the game of a devil is a dangerous game, but it's exactly where circumstances find Oksana. Hiding a secret that can cost her her life and on a mission that just as may save it, she's playing with a man that shouldn't be toyed with. Vasilije is cold, ruthless, and for some depraved reason in the very dark part of her mind, draws her in. There's nothing between them but power play and kinky sex, until something more begins to develop. But can either of them survive when all the secrets finally get revealed?
Her kiss was a fist wrapped in velvet. I kept my defenses down and let her deliver one blow after another. Kiss after soft, gentle kiss, lulling me in. I wouldn’t feel the damage until it was too late.

Torrid was a deliciously depraved read from beginning to end. It was just the right amount of dark with a splash of intrigue and a whole lot of sexy.

There's nothing I hate more in my dark reads than a simpering weak heroine, so I'm thrilled at the way that Oksana was portrayed. This is no weak little butterfly. She's a serpent in her own right and the more you find out about her the more her connection to Vasilije makes sense. This is a woman that's not afraid to give as good as she takes, and man but does Vasilije make her take. *fans self*

As for Vasilije? The man is all kinds of messed up and I love him for it. Deep beneath the fancy suits and heart of a killer, there's also something else. Something that beats only for Oksana. And I loved seeing that connection form throughout the story. This is no insta love story and I appreciate how believable the author made it seem. I didn't have a chance to read the first book since it was banned from Amazon, but now I'm super intrigued with Luka after getting a peek into the Markovic brothers in this one. I've been a fan of this author since Three Simple Rules and I'm even more hooked on her words now. The woman can write dark just as well as she writes smutty and I can't wait for more!

Torrid was dark, deliciously dirty, slightly depraved, and a lot addicting. If you're a fan of gritty mafia romance with a whole lot of steam, you can't go wrong with this book!

descriptionOn a purely personal level I don't like this cover at all. Scratch that I just don't like the way the model is posed I guess. I honestly can't put my finger on why I don't like it; I just don't. That said, it is a well done cover. The composition is very good. It has an eye-catching title work (although I would have made the title a little smaller so it would sit just under her feet and not over them). It's a good representation of the heroine. So ya, personal feeling aside it's a great cover.description

descriptionEver since I read (and LOVED) SORDID last year I have been dying to read Vasilije's book, and this one did not disappoint. Perhaps not as risqué as book one TORRID it more than held it's own in the smokin' hot category.

description

I found it to be well written and fairly well paced. The sex scenes were hot and plentiful. No OW/OM drama. It had some interesting secondary characters as well. I'd LOVE to see a book featuring Konstantine. It also had a small cameo of Luka and Addison (the couple from book one). Both main characters were likable. Oksana was strong and had a plan. Got to admire a girl with a plan. Vasilije was... complicated. I liked him for the most part, but sometimes he did cross over the line for me. Mostly when he was humiliating Oksana. I am not a huge fan of humiliation in my romance books, so those few times he went there left a bad taste in my mouth. But most of the time he was an incredibly sexy anti-hero.

As much as I enjoyed it overall, I did feel that it was maybe a TAD on the too long side. There is a lot of sex but the whole actual point of the story doesn't kick into gear until around 75% in and then we move at lightning pace until the end. I would have preferred to have gotten to the revelation sooner and had more story devoted to plotting and planning. That said this one still get two thumbs up from yours truly.description

From the very start I knew this was gonna be some dark shit

“My heart beat faster, and without thinking, my hands coursed up her arms, over her shoulders, and into her hair. I tugged her head back and forced my tongue deeper in her mouth. I took. I claimed. I owned her with my kiss, which was growing more intense every second. It was wild and verged on out of control.”

But i didn't mind..... nope, not at all *hehe*

description

“She was gorgeous, and talented, and I found her fascinating. She looked so pure and good on the outside, but inside she was dark like me. An evil creature dressed up in pretty packaging.”

And don't worry the heroine isn't just the cliche angel to be deflowered.... She a lil devil in disguise thanks for the cool line Elvis.

I've read mafia shit before but this one just felt so real like guys the Russians are gonna come for me now, or at least i hope so hahah

description

“He was forgetting how a pawn who survived crossing the board could be promoted to a queen.I could go from the weakest player to the strongest one in a single move.”

Though the chess thing was just kinda spun in at the end and it was a good idea but music was more prominent but the chess was in the summary soo...

“It’s a good thing,” he murmured, “I don’t have a fucking heart.”
“Mmm?” I had my eyes closed, enjoying the sensation of his warm breath filling my ear. The cadence of his voice was slow and hushed. “If I did, I might love you.”

And i'lll be perfectly frank...at times this book gave me fucking goosebumps

“Don’t worry, baby.” He faked bravado. “I’m going to make all our dreams come true.”I was so high-strung, the ridiculous laugh tumbled from my mouth. “Except our dreams are other people’s nightmares.”He grinned ear to ear.”

Okay maybe like the whole time, this fucking book guys highly recommend. 3 Stars

Here I thought I was going to get to read my first book with Serbian rep. As a Serbian, I'm deeply disappointed that this first was a fail :(

I read a free preview of the book and right off the bat on page 2 the author gives an incorrect phonetic pronunciation of the hero's name.

DO YOUR RESEARCH AUTHORS! If you don't want to do the research or find sensitivity readers, then don't write about a culture/ethnicity you don't know about.

When I pick up a book with Serbian rep (or any cultural/ethnic representation), I expect it to be accurate. If you can't even pronounce the hero's name correctly, I'm worried what else is wrong in the book.

I won't waste my money to read bad representation.

Review @ Midnight Romance

I'll be damned! You know how I feel uneasy with the previous book, Sordid because of some non-consensual sex. Anyway, this isn't a continuation but I wouldn't recommend it to read as a standalone. You can read Sordid also in this book because it got banned a while go from Amazon. But surprisingly, I liked this book very much! Totally different from Sordid.

As an illegitimate daughter of Russian mafia, Oksana's life is hell. She was sexually harassed by her father's right man and it traumatized her. His father didn't care about her and Oksana wants to prove her worth even she despised him. She came with the plan to take down the Serbian. Oksana is really an interesting yet complicated woman. She held my attention so far.

description

While Vasilije Markovic's brother, Luka didn't take interest in the dark world, Vasilije plan to rule the mafia. His uncle takeover the reign after his father's death. Then came an unexpected surprise in a form of mysterious Russian girl, Oksana. But this girl blinded his vision with her beauty and feisty attitude and Vasilije decided to keep her.
Vasilije was a beautiful, poisonous flower.

description

The story told from dual POVs between Oksana and Vasilije. I easily liked both of them. Their banter was full of hate and lust. Vasilije isn't bright like his brother. But he managed to earn the position with his cruelty. I liked with his honesty about everything. No bullshit kind of man. That's the true mafia.
“When I said no one else would touch you, I fucking meant it. I don’t like people touching my shit.” I skated my fingers through her crevice. “And this? This is all mine. You’re my property.”

Their chemistry was very instant. Even Vasilije is threading everything carefully with Oksana, he couldn't control his lust. Well, she's his captive atm. He's really protective and territorial; but not in the creepy way. Half of the story is really contains a lot of sex and sex. I really enjoyed Vasilije's intensity (again, different like Luka) and it was totally HOT!
His kiss took from me. My power. My submission. And I gave it all up without a fight.

description

The suspense came late almost in the very end. It felt rushed with a loud bang and bang. Both Oksana and Vasilije told each other that they didn't have heart to feel love. But they're wrong. Those two very much inseparable. They're just afraid to love because of their past. Again, I liked how they're open to each other (even with Oksana's lies), Vasilije seems genuine towards her well-being from the first. Outside his rough exterior, Vasilije has mellow heart.

Overall, I loved this so much! No OTT drama. Well-written with nice flow. However, the ending seems ended up abruptly while I want more Oksana and Vasilije's intimate moment. Hmm.. Will Konstantin (Oksana's half-brother) be the next story?

Torrid is a standalone and is part of the Sordid series. You don’t have to read Sordid prior to reading Torrid, the two books are completely different in my opinion.

I love Nikki Sloane, she’s a one-click author for me. I find her books really passionate, steamy and a tiny bit raunchy but in a really good way.

This is Vasilije and Oksana’s book.

I completely enjoyed this book, it was 100% up my alley. There’s a lot of steam, hence the cover, the title and the series in general and this one has a slightly more mafia theme than the previous one. I love a good mafia book.

Vasilije is ruthless and cold but he’s also endearing and very possessive. He’s not a soft Hero, but he has many redeeming qualities. I like his temperament and I like the way he treated Oksana. Oksana is a mystery to Vasilije, she’s just a girl he picked out and now he doesn’t know what to do with her. He wants to play with her, but can he make sure she doesn’t play with him?

You feel for Oksana and her circumstance. I like that she is a strong Heroine, but she’s not wallflower. I love that she can submit, but she can also stand up for what she believes in. I also like the backstory and realizing the characters are complicated, it added depth to the characters.

I feel like the author did a good job in creating a balance of tension, passion and intrigue. I was always interested in what was going in the book and I wanted to see how the story would play out.

The book is tamer than Sordid and that did disappointment me a bit, but I understand why, considering Sordid was ban from Amazon. I think if Torrid wasn’t linked to Sordid I wouldn’t have high expectations for this one, but regardless Torrid was a fun read.

Nikki writes some 🔥 sex scenes, but holy sh*t were they WAY too long 😅 they definitely started to also get repetitive and the plot became more of the backstory. Everything was also tied up a little too nicely for me, and we got no aftermath or deets about what happened after the climax of the story because it literally ended like a few pages later. It was super random and abrupt with no epilogue. Definitely could have been a lot better story.

Safety:

No ow/om drama (although hero does annoyingly compare heroine to past hookups a lot)

Manwhore H / Virgin h

No cheating

No ow after meeting heroine

No sharing

Some voyeurism

WHOA!

I enjoyed this book. This book is second in sordid series by nikki sloane.

Its a mafia thriller romance.

I won't call it dark because i have read much worse and this was'nt even tidbit near the type of dark i know!

Sure, it had some killing and dangerous glances but nothing we can't handle.

The book started with an amazing prologue❤
It introduces Oksana our heroine.

The prologue gave us an idea how Oksana become a ruthless girl.
She was no weak tstl heroine but still had some vulnerability. She knew what she had to do for survive.
She claimed to have no emotions but c'mon its a contemporary romance😒 ofcourse you have a heart and emotions and will be falling in love even if hero is a motherfucking monster. *phew*

NOW Comes our badass hero Vasilije

He was cunning, mean and alpha.
I love those kind of dark heroes who have a little light in them.
He was a plotting mean motherfucker who was in for a revenge against his own uncle.

NOW on their relationship!
There was some serious insta-lust between Vasilije and Oksana🔥

Both had their own motives and plotting but again its a romance book so love is a must!

Now in my opinion---
Book was ok! It had power to keep me going but those unlimited and may i mention sometimes even unnecessary sex scenes were starting to irritate me.

But then some were too hot and fitting so, i can't complaint much!

Over all it was a nice read and if you liked sordid you can't miss this.

Nikki Sloane is absolutely amazing in creating the hot, sexy scenes. If you are looking for well-written erotic stories, then this is something for you.

I really like this story. It intrigued me and pulled in the plot. I read each page to learn how this strongly twisted couple will deal with this whole situation.

Torrid By Nikki Sloane is a hold on to your pants type of ride.
It's the sort of story that once you start reading your racing to the finish line, it's that good.
So where to start, Well first we have Vasilije Markovic, second in line to his uncle and part of the Serbian Mafia.
Vasilije is a cold foul-mouthed, vicious twenty-four-year-old man. What he wants he gets and he wants Oksana his Russian plaything.
Oksana has been sent in undercover by her father, head of the Russian mafia. She is the illegitimate daughter of Sergey.
But Our girl has a plan to double-cross her father and get Vasilije on board, let's just hope she doesn't manage to get herself offed in the process.
Oksana is not like most girls she has a dark side that seems to feed Vasilije's lust for her.
These two damaged individuals fit together like a jigsaw, each one seeming to need the validation of their mirror to feel whole.
From the start of this journey, I was invested in our twosome and I adored the way Vasilije tortured Oksana with his unique brand of foreplay, talk about a panty warmer.
The way our girl reeled him in and even surprised herself on how she got off on Vasilije's rough bedroom antics.
I think for the first time Vasilije feels accepted and wanted for who he is, the way she just takes what he dishes out and then asks for more is such a big turn on for him, and also a first.
Obviously, there a lot more than sex going on here and even though this is not a romantic soppy read, Torrid implies so much emotion through what isn't said and with Oksana's beautifully haunting music that she pours herself into well, let's just say sometimes the words are just not really needed, it just is what it is.
So With Mafia business going on behind the scenes, and secrets being kept, there is never a dull moment in this novel, it really does keep you on your toes.
So I found this a really easy read, Torrid ticked every one of my boxes and more.
The story flowed brilliantly keeping me the reader engrossed and invested,
It was so satisfying to see certain characters get their just desserts.
What was even more phenomenal was seeing these two find their own version of a HEA.
Checkmate!!!! the queen got her king.
I would like to say thank you so much to the author Nikki Sloane for generously providing me with an ARC of Torrid, this is my own personal opinion on this book.

4.5 "The Villain & Her Muse"

I liked this book more than Sordid! This can be read as a standalone, although I think reading that book 1st will enhance this book. The author does a great job of explaining anything pertaining to Vasilije that you might have missed in book #1.

Vasilije was really Hot. There was tons of Sex Scenes. This author made sure not to skip over all the Schmexy Deets either! I loved all the suspense swirling around Oksana & the mob war between families.

I will say, I was disappointed there was no Epilogue. It could've been a Sexy Scene, set up a future book on Konstantin. A year or so down the line, something.

That was all that was missing from being a 5* for me. Grab this one up!

DNF

“I’m gonna come in your mouth,” I said, my words tight with pleasure. “You’re gonna hold my cum in there until I tell you to swallow. Got it?” Heat blasted along my legs. Shivers worked their way up. “Not a drop until I say so.”
“You like my flavor rolling around in your mouth?”
It was doubtful she’d answer, but couldn’t anyway. Her cum-drenched tongue couldn’t move under the gag I’d placed on her. I held absolute control.

I feel nauseous!

4.25 stars. This was a really book! This is Oksana and Vasilije's story. Vasijile is Luka (from Sordid)'s brother. He is involved in the family business/Serbian mafia run by his Uncle Goran. Vasilije is not happy with a lot going on in the business, including the sex trade, but he is biding his time until he can takeover for his uncle. On a job for Goran, he meets Oksana, who is one of the girls being traded. Oksana is the daughter of a Russian mobster and has big secrets of her own. Her beauty catches Vasilije's eye and he decides to keep her for himself. She goes home with him and they begin a sexy relationship. Oksana is on a quest for revenge against people from her past. She must decide if she can trust Vasilije to help her get revenge. They find they have a lot in common on the revenge seeking front and together they can accomplish their plans. And they fall in love along the way.

I loved Vasilije and Oksana. For living in a crazy mafia world and suffering through some terrible situations, they were both surprisingly normal. Vasilije was in a lot of ways just a regular guy. Oksana was strong and brave. I loved them together. They had a great connection and chemistry. They were perfect for each other. And super sexy too. Overall, I didn't think this book was as dark as Sordid or as dark as I was expecting. But I liked that. I liked catching up with Luka and Addison. There was even a mention of the Blindfold club.

Overall, I really enjoyed seeing Vasilije and Oksana's relationship develop. This was a great sexy, suspenseful mafia romance! I can't wait for more from Ms. Sloane!

Nikki Sloane can write. Now before I do my review, just let say, that this is nothing like Sordid, which isn't a bad thing. For some, it may even be a good thing. While I loved Sordid, and it's questionable morals, some didn't. Which is understandable.

So if your steering clear due to the first, no worries, this one is dark, but not dubious consent dark.

giphy2

I genuinely liked Oksana, while she was in over her head, she still held her own.
"I might not outsmart the devil, but I was willing to deal with him."

Everyone has a agenda, including Oksana. She is betraying everyone while trying to make an ally, and keep herself alive.

It's tricky, and a satisfying plot.

Vasilije is a great anti-hero, he's cold, ruthless, and bit selfish, but he also has some redeeming qualities, which makes for a believable romance.

It was sexy and suspenseful.

Why 4 stars? It was a bit repetitive at times.

WOW. Let's start with the obvious. Nikki Sloane can design a cover! This cover is pure perfection. It's hot, obviously. It's dark. It's dangerous. It's everything that Torrid is.
Torrid is the second book in the Sordid series. HOWEVER, it can be read as a standalone book. If the thought of a banned book doesn't sit well with you, you can read Torrid without reading Sordid. Again, this is NOT a continuation of Sordid.
Torrid is the story of Vasilije Markovic, the next-in-line of the Chicago Serbian Mafia. He's young (mid-20's), he's cocky, he's dirty.
Our lead female is Oksana Kuznetsov, I can't really tell you much about her because you need to read the book to learn about her.
What we do know is that she has secrets.
Torrid is told perfectly from dual POVs. Nikki Sloane can write a male POV SO SO well. It's amazing for an author to be able to blend a story with action, strong dialog, and scorching hot scenes so seamlessly. Nikki Sloane delivers on Torrid once again. Excellent book!

Torrid is the second book in the Sordid Series, but could definitely be read as a standalone. It is sexy, dark and suspenseful!

Vasilije is making his name as nephew and next in line to Serbian mafia crime boss.

"He was the devil and tasted like sin. Dark, delicious evil."

Oksana, the illegitimate daughter of a Russian mafia king, has an agenda of her own. She is a strong, resilient heroine. Oksana really learns so much about herself and as she grows and changes, she is the catalyst that changes Vasilije.

"Looking at him was the same as staring at the sun. He was scorching. Beautiful. Fascinating, but I couldn’t do it for too long or I’d risk permanent damage."

I loved this dark and exciting and HOT story!

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

Torrid, a new standalone in the Sordid series, features the younger Markovic brother. A bad boy who gets what he wants, Vasilije wants to take over the throne of the Serbian mob, but in the meantime a little action with a pretty girl wouldn't hurt. The blonde was meant for a single night, but something about her keeps him coming back for more and each time he shows her a little bit more of his true self. She knows his secrets, but Vasilije Markovic doesn't know Oksana's secrets and hers just might put her on the throne instead.

Maybe you looked into this book for the cover, or maybe the synopsis enticed you just enough, or just maybe you just heard that Nikki Sloane writes great erotic romance and she's come to shake things up again, either way Torrid has your attention and it's well deserved. Released almost a year after Sordid first made waves by being banned on Amazon, Torrid has the same smut, the same enticing mobster brothers, and even better writing. There's deception, there's bloodshed, and there's steamy deprivation aplenty. I knew I had to read Torrid the minute I heard about it, though admittedly I have been reading less erotic novels than I used to. I know Nikki Sloane knows how to deliver a dark romance that will keep you turning pages well past your bedtime. Vasilije was all I hoped for, his younger age making him less refined than his older brother, his emotions less controlled, and his desires easy to spot. Oksana, on the other hand, was anything but pliant and easy. She's a tough-as-nails heroine, a girl with a vengeance, and a natural desire to submit that only Vasilije brings out in her.

I love a good dark romance, but Sordid was almost too much for me and I was afraid Torrid would be the same, that wasn't the case. There's natural chemistry and the story line keeps the story flowing, two powerful characters desperate to take back what they deserve after losing everything. The connection between Vasilije and Oksana is strong, they're drawn to one another in ways that they shouldn't be. I loved that Nikki Sloane had so much character development in Torrid, it was more than just smut. There was a lot more backstory to this installment of the Sordid series, the mob played a much bigger background, and the characters were more than passion and revenge plots. I'd absolutely recommend Torrid to readers looking for a dark romance.

Explosive...

All the components of the mafia genre lie within the pages of this book......Vasilije is a ruthless Serbian mafia prince and Oksana is the daughter of a Russian boss and a woman on her own personal mission.... secrets, lies, violence and revenge are the basis for their relationship ....

The world, first created by the author in Sordid, is well described and detailed.... the family rivalries and intrigues are complicated and believable... this was a fast paced story told from the dual point of view of the two protagonists....both the characters were fascinating ....dysfunctional products of the world they have grown up in.. I was especially invested in the character development of Vasilije through the course of the book...he is ruthless, cruel and dominant but in Oksana he has met his match...

I loved the complex relationship of Oksana and Vasilije and OMG the sex between these two was dirty and erotic... I was caught up in the plot and invested in the outcome .. this was a thrilling and explosive read which was almost impossible to put down once started...This book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads...

I'm so happy to have devoured V's story. I knew from book one ole boy was searching for something or rather someone. His own someone. This is their story.

As the old adage goes, when seeking revenge be sure to dig two graves. One for the soul you're after and one for yourself. This story takes revenge to another level! The overall intrigue is delicious and suspenseful! The characters and scenes are cohesive and realistic. I'm ready for more, more, MORE!

This review is my PERSONAL OPINION of the book. My opinion should have no bearing on your reading experience.

✨Review Torrid (Sordid, #2) by Nikki Sloane✨

”𝙑𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙟𝙚’𝙨 𝙠𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙨 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝, 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥. 𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚’𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙙𝙙𝙖𝙢𝙣 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙.“

This is book two in the Sordid series and features Luka’s brother from book one Vasilijes & Oksana.

Hot damn... just when I was wondering how Nikki was going to turn up the heat after Sordid I am completely blown away. Vasilijes is everything... he is such a possessive, alpha male I was drooling all over my kindle for him. Once again this book is a DARK romance, and Nikki writes it amazingly, this author is brilliant and writes exactly what I want to see in a dark romance book.🖤

Vasilijes is now in charge of the family business after an event that happens in book one. His brother is gone and he is left to pick up the pieces. His heart is guarded, he is ruthless, and oh so sinfully delicious. After a meeting at a warehouse Vas comes across Oksana in a group with women who are about to be sent into human trafficking. She’s beautiful and something about the way she looks at him makes him want to grab her and take her away, so he does just that.

Oksana goes with Vas to his house also confused in this strong connection she feels to him. Only.. Oksana knows all about Vas and this is just what she wanted.. inside the lions den. “𝙈𝙮 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡. 𝙄’𝙙 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙢𝙖𝙛𝙞𝙖 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙨.“

Oksana was so powerful and I absolutely loved her character. This story takes you on a ride of lust, passion, redemption, revenge, love, betrayal and so much more. Vas & Oksana are a powerhouse. Will Vas be by blindsided when he finds out Oksanas true intentions? and will Oksanas mission slowly start morphing into something else she never saw coming and that something is Vasilijes black loving heart.

(Shoutout to @ambersbookobsession for this rec also love you girl!🖤😍)

I have a bit of a love affair with every Nikki Sloane book I read and I am especially fond of her forays into the dark. After reading Sordid, I was really anxious for Vasilije's story. In Torrid we get to spend an entire book learning more about this complicated and interesting character.

Vasilije Markovic is the second in line in the Serbian Mafia. He is the exact kind of anti-hero I love. He can be cold and cruel and can make you uncomfortable, but he has a charisma to him that draws you right in. I was half-way in love with him from meeting him in Sordid so I was right on board with him in Torrid.

Oksana was the perfect female lead for him. She is strong, knows how to play the game and has a darkness to her that is a perfect match for someone like Vasilije. She has a well thought out plan and is prepared to do what is needed and make sacrifices to ensure its success. At first she thinks nothing of manipulating Vasilije for her needs, but as time goes on, she finds herself drawn to him in ways she never imagines she would be.

At first, Vasilije see Oksana as a simple plaything. He is used to getting what he wants, people included. Once he has Oksana, her darkness beneath the surface calls to her. Both characters find themselves in a bit over their head. Vasilije is the one always in charge and controlling the game, but for the first time, he may be the one to be played with. Oksana is not afraid to do what is necessary to meet her goals, but she may finally have something she is not willing to risk sacrificing.

I enjoyed this story tremendously! Vasilije and Oksana were compelling and complicated characters that both had a dark side to their personalities that called to each other. The sex scenes were extremely hot and the suspense of the game Oksana was playing behind the scenes really added to the story and had me anxious to see what the fallout would ultimately be. I feel like every time Sloane writes a new tale she lays on the magic that launches that story right to the top of my favorites list and Torrid is no exception!

I finished this book last night and it was everything I wanted it to be.

I was excited for Vasilije's story. I was a big fan of Luka and Sordid and couldn't wait to read his brother's story. He didn't disappoint. He lived up to all my expectations and then some.

One thing I loved most about this book is that I loved both characters separately but even more together. They are both strong characters individually, but for me worked so much better as a couple.

This book was very well written. The story was strong and, in true Nikki fashion, was hot. The sex scenes were 🔥🔥.

And the cover...it's one of my favorite things about the book. It so simply incorporates so much of what I love about this book.

Overall I really enjoyed Oksana and Vasilije's story. It was a great follow up to Sordid for me but also can truly be read as a standalone.

Once again Nikki delivered a brilliant story. I highly recommend.

This is an ARC that author was kind enough to offer in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this book!! Was dark, lusty, dirty and sexy. Didn't want to stop reading. So I didn't and now it's done. :-(

Vas and Oksana are not a traditional romantic couple but they are so similar that it makes sense. The way their story plays out is inevitable and packed with the push and pull that makes Nikki the writer she is.

Oksana is a complicated character who is both strong and fragile. She hasn't had an easy life. Vas has made himself cold-hearted to keep people away. Together they are moth and flame, drawn together even as they hurt each other.

I dealt with several emotions while reading: discomfort, horror, excitement, shock, anger, sadness, happiness, frustration, passion, arousal, desire and at the end, exhaustion. Need a shower and sleep.

Thank you, and here's to the next one....
