Prison Planet Barbarian

Rate this book
Being kidnapped by aliens is one thing.

Being kidnapped by aliens and then sent to a prison planet is something infinitely worse.

Here in Haven's prison system, I'm stranded among strangers, enemies, and the most ruthless criminals in the galaxy. There's no safety for a human woman here, especially not one branded as a murderer. I'm doomed to a fate worse than death.

Then...he decides I should be his. His name's Jutari. He's seven feet tall, blue, and horned. He's an assassin and one of the most dangerous prisoners here. He's like no one I've ever met before...and he might be my only chance.

This story stands completely alone and is only marginally connected to the Ice Planet Barbarians or Corsairs series. You do not need to read those books in order to follow this one.

The story of Jutari and Chloe is another keffing awesome adventure.

Jutari is a criminal, ex-assassin and one of the most dangerous prisoners in an inhuman prison planet of the Haven prison system.
Jutari is also a Messakai male, i.e. A modern sa-khui without a khui. We have met blue, horned, tattooed aliens like him in "Barbarian's Choice". Mardok is a Messakai.

Chloe used to be an innocent next-door girl in Earth, until her whole world changed literally. She became another human abducted girl. After she cruelly killed 9 Tritarians with one hit, she has been transported to the maximum security prison planet. I am still laughing with the description of the way these Tritarians died.

When Jutari sees Chloe, he decides that she was made for him.

"She is mine.
And I'm going to rend from limb to limb anyone who tries to touch her."

And Sav Jutari Bakhtavis will take what he wants. Not that Chloe will have any objections.

The book is not part of the main sa-khui stories. Chloe was mentioned in "Barbarian's Lady". Kate was briefly caged with her, until Chloe was bought.

The book has amazing descriptions of different alien species and of the prison planet. Very imaginative romance/smut/erotica Sci Fi adventure. The author promised that we will have more in this expanding world.

Worth mentioning: A dragoni female also appears in this world. Maybe we can have some answers about the dragons in the "Fire In His Blood'. For example 'where do they come from?'.

3.75 stars Oh LAWD

Do you like Dry humping? Then this book is for you. Cause… LAWD… 🔥

Chloe was abducted from her college dorm and taken to another planet. Luckily, she has an ear piece that helps translate what’s said around her. She goes to jail because she accidentally (😈) kills 9 males/would-be rapist. How was she to know that each one she killed was part of a triad 🤷🏻‍♀️and would automatically kill them all 😅. She only REALLY killed 3 of them… times 3 🫣😅.

Anyway lol.

She gets taken and shown to the most dangerous inmates, and that’s when Jutari sees her and decides she’s HISSSSS 😉. Jutari’s in prison because he’s killed many… he used to be an assassin 💅. So nobody better mess with him, or the female he wants 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Possible spoilers ahead:

I looooved that Jutari sees Chloe and he claims her… no one’s gonna touch her, and if they do: face the consequences (deadly ones 😈).

He’s so so protective too!!! Gahhh! He’s a mastermind when it comes to how he’s gonna have her and keep her safe.

“You don’t look fine,” I whisper, not wanting Drem to hear me. He chuckles a little. “All right. I’m keffing tired. I haven’t slept much in the last several days.” “You haven’t? Why not?” Jutari’s mouth twitches, and he cups my chin. “I had a sweet female to protect and keep safe from the others in the cell.”

Don’t get me started on all the dry humping happening. Flashbacks came to me 😅. When Chloe gets forced to be in his cell (along with other dangerous prisoners), they have to keep the charade that she’s “suffering” and he’s physically “claiming” her… so… he has to be convincing 😅.

These scenes were 🥵🔥. I mean. In the beginning, I was looking for some completions 👀, but after a while, I just wanted to hug Jutari since he was doing this to keep others off of her (and anyone that tried to get near would get b£@t up 🤷🏻‍♀️). Don’t worry 👀 it gets to the point that he just *accidentally* starts REALLY doing stuff to her 🥵.

He’s so JP… so obsessed… so protective 😉. I just loved him.

He smiles down at me, still stroking my cheek. “My people have a saying…you own my heart, my Chloe.”

Sure. We don’t get too many 🔥 scenes (😒), but I loved how they get to know each other and get closer. They’re both in a shitty predicament, but he’s going to do everything he can to make sure she’s safe 🥹❤️.

I wish we had seen more of them actually 🔥🔥🔥 and more of their lives after.

The epilogue is cute, but I wanted more 😬.

This gets better with each read !! I love Jutari😘😍We like thugs!!! But we love Pirates 🏴‍☠️ !

This is a reread for me and this is the book that made me a Ruby Dixon fan. I read this and then I went on a Ruby rampage at the likes of which no one has ever seen. These books rock my world 🌎. Chloe is in an intergalactic prison for murdering a government official 9 times. lol 😂 you’d have to read it to find out that tidbit. But the important detail is that she’s in prison for a "crime" that she never actually committed. Jutari is an ex mercenary who got caught at a gas station or the space equivalent and he meets Chloe during a prison walk through and decided she is his mate.

He will do anything to get her and you’ll love every bit. The language is vile and vulgar which I love. However, there are a lot of attempted assaults and women are beaten. If this is a sensitive subject you may want you to refrain from reading certain scenes. But he fights for his woman like a boss.

Jutari is filled with huge blue muscles 💪🏽 and armor all over his body. Ooh yes 🙌🏽 and did I also forget to mention he is ThiCCk.

😜🥸

This is the prequel to the The Corsair's Captive series and it is awesome 👏🏽

Color me surprised...

I was expecting something better...

You all know how much I love my BBBs, but here we have a BBB+B (for bastard)!

So, no I didn't like this story. Why? Lets see:

1) It is a Stockholm syndrome story, no a love story
2) The heroine enjoys sex while all the other inmates are right at her elbow. Eckhhhh!!!
3) He's supposedly a cold-blooded killer, but with her he's tame like a kitten (not that's bad, but it's not in tune with his character!)
4) The head prison guard is an imbecile (not that it's a bad thing!) who gives her to the hero to rape her because she doesn't want to give it to him! Is he nuts or what???!!!

Apart from all the above, the story is short... way too short... And all my dear friends from the Ice Planet are missing!!! The sweet BBBs, with their lame understanding of English slang and way of thinking are not present even in spirit...

So, no, I'm sorry... I could have done without this one!

Messakah assassin!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🖤❤️💜💖
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 🤨😟😳😍🥰

The heroine: Chloe - she was a college student who was stolen from her dorm room one night, by alien sex traffickers. She was taken to another planet, put up for auction and sold to an ambassador from a race called the Tritarians. When he tries to rape her, she kills him and due to a domino effect, ends up killing a bunch of their ambassadors and is sent to Haven, the prison planet for the worst criminals in the galaxy.

The Heroes: Jutari - he is a Messakah and an assassin. Before that he was a soldier till the war ended and when he couldn’t find a job, he became a mercenary and eventually took on darker and more dangerous jobs. When his father, (who was an awesome space pirate) died, Jutari became very depressed and didn’t care about anything. That is when he was caught and sent to Haven. He has been there about a year and at one point he killed three men and was put in with the worst criminals. He shares a cell with a bunch of them.

The Story: Once a prisoner is sent to Haven, they never leave. The prisoners are just bodies that work the planet, growing crops and terraforming the planet. They stay in their cells when they aren’t in the fields. Though the worst criminals (including Jutari) rarely work the fields. Women are kept separately and most trade sex with the guards for favors and nutrition bars.

This was different than any prison planet romance than I have ever read before. Most that I have read, have the prisoners basically dropped onto the prison planet and left to their own devices. Kind of like I think Australia must have been when it was used as a prison for England up until the 1860’s. However, this prison was more like a work camp prison where the inmates were in jail much of the time but sent out to work for so many hours a day.

The story though was really good, and I wish there were more of this series. I really liked the characters, and the world building was awesome. I like most of Ruby Dixon’s work, but this was some of the best in my opinion. I loved that Jutari wanted Chloe to be his from the moment he saw her and that he had to protect her from guards and other prisoners.

I loved that Jutari was big and strong and able to protect Chloe and make her life better. I also liked that Chloe was just a normal college student who ended up going through these terrible situations and she stayed strong throughout even though she wasn’t one of those fierce warrior woman types. She was afraid a lot, even cried, but she fought back when she needed to.

I think I should have read this before Ice Planet Barbarians, because after reading IPB, this just seems... meh. Long story short, I marathoned the entire IPB series and the off-shoot series in about a month, but I was still oh so hungry for a big blue alien fix. Prison Planet Barbarian was just not it. I'm not sure this whole series is going to work for me, but I'm going to keep on trying it. What feels like FATE in IPB just feels like cheap insta-love here.

Cue sad face.

I haven't read many romances centered around a prison, but I think this might be a trope I want to see more of. Especially with how much I've enjoyed this story.

Chloe had been kidnapped to be a sex slave for some alien bigwig. In defense of her own body and free will, she inadvertently kills a bunch of aliens at once. For her crimes, she's transported to an alien prison and the horror show seems to be endless. For some reason, one of the guards has taken a special interest in her (ewwww gross) and the only one who can protect her, surprisingly, is another inmate — a hot, tall, horned, blue alien of a man.

I freaking loved Jutari. A pirate, an assassin, one dumb move got him caught. But he's not stuck. He's just biding his time and with Chloe's safety at stake, he's intent on putting his plan in action.

Hot chemistry, a protective and possessive alien, a sort of useless and sweet and vulnerable heroine, a bunch of crazy and scary drama, and my interest to read even more made this story so worthwhile.

So. Jennymort back at it again with those blue aliens.
description

The only reasons I didn't give this a full five stars:
→ Barely any sex scenes. (The "dry" humping in this doesn't count.)
→ Don't know shit about Jutari or much about his past other than some short sentences.
→ Why the hell didn't we get to meet his brother or know more about him?
→ I wish there was more about his dad and a younger Jutari.
→ Why the eff did it skip a freaking year at the end of this?! *pout*
description
description

Other than that, it was surprisingly wayyyy better than the rest of these damn things.

Jennymort out.

I found it entertaining, despite the dark themes that kept me on edge, as I didn't want any bad things to happen to both Jutari and Chloe. But overall it was still a satisfying read, short and quick.

“I feel things for you. Lots and lots of things.”

“Prison Planet Barbarian” had a darker flare compared to the rest of the books. It was exactly the kind of dark romance that I like: The main characters may have to do a lot of cruel things to other people in order to survive in a violent environment, but they always protect each other.

I was on the edge of my seat when I was reading this book, anticipating the horror and violence that Chloe and Jutari will inevitably face inside the prison. The author managed to create a really nice dark atmosphere for this book.

The only thing that didn’t seem believable to me was the way that Jutari, a long time prisoner and soldier, fell instantly in love with Chloe, a stranger who he couldn’t possibly trust. Also, it seemed weird to me that a guard instead of taking Chloe by force, he decided to give her to Jutari when she didn’t have sex willingly with him.

This was a quick, novella length read (135 pgs) in the Ice Planet Barbarian's world. Chloe (the h in this story) is Kate's roommate; she is mentioned in passing in Barbarian's Lady (book #14) as having been separated from Kate by the creepy orange alien dudes, but we did not know what happened to Chloe until now...

This story is set on a red prison planet called Haven, though it is anything but. It is reserved for the most heinous criminals in the galaxy as many don't survive the harsh environment, challenging work assignments, and/or severe treatment by other prisoners (& sometimes the guards). This is where Chloe finds herself at the start of the book, and she is terrified to see the conditions and hear of the fates of many that are sent here to "be lost forever."

There are not many women in the prison, but those that are seem to use their feminism to their advantage in gaining favors from the guards in exchange for sex. The guard that walked Chloe through the prison on her way to her cell seems to have set his sights on her and staked a claim, and Chloe shudders to think what his weird claw things might do to her. But along the tour through the facility, the guard takes her by the worst of the lot, intending to scare her into submission by saying that if she does not do what he wants, he will toss her into one of these cells inhabited by the worst of the worst that would certainly tear her apart. One of these dangerous men sees Chloe and immediately thinks, "MINE."

Jutari is of a species very close to the Ice Planet guys, so he is a large, blue giant male, and when he sees Chloe, he knows she is meant for him. He has been biding his time in the prison, but he has a way to escape should he need to. Jutari is there because he was a mercenary that was finally caught, but he has not had much to motivate him to want to leave, so he has not attempted it yet. Now he has a reason to want to live and get out of this hellish prison, but he must find a way to get Chloe in the same place with him before he does so.

Will Jutari find a way to get Chloe away from the handsy (er, clawsy?) guard? Can he conceive a solid plan to get himself and a much more fragile human woman off the atmospherically dangerous planet without being caught? And will Chloe even want to go with the giant blue man that seems to have decided she belongs to him?

Overall, I liked the story, and I felt like the chemistry was pretty solid between the two. It was a little too short for me because I wanted to see what happened once they were rescued, but I enjoyed what I got :)

Plot --- 3/5
Main Characters --- 3/5
Supporting Cast --- 3/5
Steam Level* --- 3.5/5
Violence --- Yes, she is in a prison, and though she is not sexually assaulted
Language --- Yes
POV --- Dual

*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild (nothing descriptive); 2/5 - 3rd base action/1 home run; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere (a couple of full-on steamy scenes); 4/5 - yes please! (erotica territory); 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all

Loved it!

Chloe was breifly metioned in the last Ice Planet Barbarian book and she is another human who was taken away from earth by alien slave traders. She has been moving around for 2 months and finally ends up in a high security prison due to an incident with her previous owner... in this prison is where she meets Jutari. Jutari is instantly obsessed with Chloe, he is determined to claim her and escape this prison with her so that they can have a happy life together.

"She's mine for now and forever. I've claimed her fully and I'm not letting her go."

I liked Chloe's character a lot, she didn't whine or complain and constantly fight Jutari off. She was smart, loyal and did whatever was necessary for survival while still remaining strong and true to herself.

This was a super short and sexy story that branched from the original Ice Planet story line. It honestly felt more like a 13.5 novella instead of book 14 but whatever! Adorable epilogue and an overall great read!

Yea! Prison Science Fiction Romance!

Why do I like it? I don't know. I really like twinkles and zingers too.

This book doesn't need to be read with the other books in the series. The hero is super kickass.

The heroine is okay. She gets better.

This is just a bit of fun in this genre. So, if you like Kent's Hold, you should enjoy this one.

Sonia was right - this is a dry-hump fest and I LOVED THAT 😂👏 (find her review and read it now!!!) For a short novella, there are smoking hot scenes that I really enjoyed 🥵
Loved how the H was OTT protective, very necessarily so given their situation but his POV falls short on believable elements of that insta-attraction from his end - like, give me that insta-thing but tell me atleast ONE thing that tipped those scales you know.. her scent, your second heart beating, weird little nodes on your junk pulsing because of a mate-bond.. anything.. but don't say "I saw, she mine, goodbye" because naaaah king, I don't beleeeb.
Kinda flat story overall, I wanted to see more of their interactions after the whole ordeal was over but it's fine. Heavy threats of r*pe, considering the h is in an intense lawless prison situation. I felt really bad for the side characters :(

Special shout-out to the blue hottie on the cover *fans self*

Would recommend 🥵🤠

I found this attached to the Risdaverse series but other than the mc’s showing up in a later book, it is completely separate. This reminded me of a fluffy version of Hold with the female being dropped into the prison planet but is missing the grit… and the h offering sex for protection.

Chloe is kidnapped from Earth and ends up in a prison planet as a intergalactic coverup. She’s dodging a corrupt guard when she sees Jutari. He decides Chloe is his and makes plans to save her.

Bottom Line- Entertaining quick read. It’s not fluffy bunny (she is threatened with rape and gets beat badly) just lighter compared to Hold. I liked both main characters, and the plot moved along. There’s a cute epilogue a few years out.

I've read a few sci-fi romance books that involve prisons and possible escapes, and this is one of the better ones. I really like how Ruby Dixon builds up the relationship over such a short book. It's still instalove, but it's much more palatable than some of the other books I've read.

Not bad...but I expected more. This is more of a mix of insta love with Stockholm Syndrome. The author does a good job with the world building of the prison planet, but the relationship development is severely lacking.

If you're looking for a solid SciFi romance set on a prison planet, I recommend Hold by Claire Kent.

5 Filthy/Fluffy Stars

It's no secret that I will faithfully pick up anything written by Ruby Dixon. I stumbled across the Ice Planet Barbarians earlier last year - before I joined Goodreads. I remember thinking to myself, "Am I really going to read about giant blue aliens gettin' lucky?" Fourteen books later, I am counting down days until the next time I get to read about my blue aliens. *wags eyebrows*

This book follows Chloe Fuller - a human who we saw briefly in a previous book. Apparently, she was a college student who was studying zoology, but that dream is shattered when she was abducted by aliens to be sold as a sex slave. Due to an unfortunate event, she finds herself in prison and under a watchful eye of a Messakah prisoner. (aka: swoon-worthy giant blue alien)

I know that this all sounds ridiculious, but you just have to believe me when I say Ruby Dixon can write! Fourteen times now, she has taken the same principal for a story and made it become something different, something unique. Her protagonists come in different sizes and ethnicities, but are all strong and witty. No drama-filled heroine to be found. The world building is just spectacular; it is always beautifully written with creative descriptions. And most importantly, the fluff is fluffy and the sex is steamy.

Overall, it is just a good PNR to escape reality with for a while. If you have KindleUnlimited, I recommend checking this one out. It can be read as a standalone, so you can see if this is something you want to dive into. Who knows, your next book-boyfriend may be an alien. *smirks*

This is a novella that connects to multiple Ruby Dixon worlds, the Risdaverse series and also part of the Corsairs series. But very lightly to both and can def be read as a standalone or as part of either series.

Chloe is a human who was abducted and taken to a maximum security prison planet. Humans are extremely rare and unknown to many amongst the aliens she encounters there. A guard and the few other women there, tell her told unless she has a protector she’s willing to give herself to, she might be in all sorts of danger. While distraught over this situation, Chloe notices Jutari, a big blue alien who waves at her. Jutari is a prisoner there too and as soon as he spots Chloe, he knows she’s his mate. He just has to bide his time until he can get to her and they can escape together.

When she gets tossed in a cell with Jutari and others as a punishment to be “used up”, Chloe finds herself with her very own protector and someone who has an escape plan from the prison planet! Jutari is an ex-assassin and also brothers with Kivian (The Corsair’s Captive), if you’ve read that book you see Jutari and Chloe living together happily.

This was just a quick, short read, and a lot of fun with some dangerous stakes! If you are familiar with Ruby books you will enjoy the mentions and glimpses of many characters that could/do fit into her other series (IPB, Fireblood Dragon, Corsairs).

4 New Series Stars

I’m about caught up on the Ice Planet Barbarians. A lot of authors say you don’t have to read one series in order to understand another series, but most of the time they are wrong. In this case, the author is pretty right. The only same thing the series have in common is the blue alien, but there’s not a lot to explain. So you can pick up this series first or the other series first. They both have two different plots and it just depends on your mood.

I picked up this book awhile ago and started it and stopped. It was pretty slow going and you have to be in the mood to read it. So now that I am, I have to say I enjoyed it. There’s a lot of lead-up into the story. You get a set-up of where the characters are coming from, how the prison is being run and how the world works there. I do like that there is technology in this world. As much as I love the primitive storyline in the Ice Planet series, I needed something different.

This isn’t my first alien prison planet book, but it was still enjoyable. Chloe is a human woman and she is taken to a prison planet that houses all different sorts of aliens and species. The blue guy, the Hero is the biggest, mean and tough guy there and he has claimed Chloe his.

I liked the relationship between Chloe and the Hero. I found that she had a good head on her shoulders and when it was time to play damsel she did it perfectly to the tee. I like the Hero’s male possessive nature, it’s why we read these books right?

Overall, it was a pleasant read and a great starter to the series.

I don't know but I kinda expect an Alien Assassin to be more moody and broody, you know?
It was pretty short so obviously it lacked a lot of the details and the "romance" just didn't click.
Can't believe I'm saying this, there's a first time for everything but this was kinda stockholm-y.
I blame the length.
(Of the book. Hello?! Get your head outta the gutter.)

Personally I think I'd be working too hard not to pee my pants to consciously notice that a particular alien's stare was sorta different from the others.
Just saying, my thoughts would not be the same as our h's if I were being dragged around an alien prison where the inmates just ate one of their own and a seven foot blue alien with horns smiled at me.
Just sayin'...

2.5 rounded to 3 stars. Vicious assassin was more like a blindly jealous bully. Public sex, well sorta. Not sure why they fell in love. Meh epilogue. Oh, and I just started the next Ice Planet book, and the biggest missing element from this book is the humor!
