He Could Be the One The Player’s Proposition… Natural hair vlogger Quinn Sommers and Lance Donovan have been hot for each other since the day they met at her sister’s back fence. After noting his slick womanizing ways, she vowed not to become another notch on this arrogant charmer’s bedpost. Quinn has resisted Lance for well over a year. Constant bickering—driving each other, family, and mutual friends plumb crazy— failed to quash the sexual tension crackling between them. Lance, a master of biding his time, always gets what he wants. And he’s decided they’ve wasted too much time on nonsense. He will have Quinn, thank you very much. Now. Because she doesn’t trust him or his motives, he’ll need to get more creative. Hoping to use her hypercompetitive nature to his advantage, Lance issues an intriguing Lance and Quinn will “chaste date” for thirty days, just playing nice for once and getting to know one another better. All those pesky fleshly distractions can only lead to trouble, anyway. Just holding hands allowed. Oh, and wait, maybe they can slip in a loophole for a hug and a closed-mouth-above-the-neck kiss or two…or three….or… The first to break the rules will incur penalties. Temptation abounds. Somebody will fail, but it’s a challenge neither can resist. He Could Be the One contains strong language, sexy times, and an alpha female.

Lance and Quinn first met in book one of the Mistywood Lane series. Lance came across as a cocky womanizer in the first book. In this story he's reformed and ready to be a one woman man. I was surprised by the intensity of his feelings for Quinn. But Quinn was so afraid of being burned again. So they opted to have a 30-day trail period and not tell anyone they were dating. This worked for a little while until Lance was in it for real and wanted to be official. Now here's the part you've been waiting for. The sex was off the heezy fosheezy good.!!!!! Lance had all the equipment and used it well. And yes, Gabriel and Reese were still hot and heavy. Quinn's sister's Blair name called one another outrageous names. So funny. Their funny bantering added a fun side to the story. And cousin Rosvaughn was still wrapped loosely in the brain. SMH... Other ancillary characters added a little drama to the story. Overall, this was a nice, fun, sexy love story.
I purchased this book assuming it's story would more or less be a stand alone romance since the first book focused on Reese and Gabriel. The book jumps right in without much back story. I'm sure there was mention of Quinn's and Lance's interactions in the first book but from a third party perspective. With that being said, their feelings for each other seemed too forced. A quick synopsis of their history isn't enough to make me feel an emotional connection with the characters and their relationships. Because of this, I just couldn't get into the book. After a few nights of trying to push through it I finally got through chapter 9 (about 20% of the book) but still didn't feel a real connection to the book. I decided to set the book aside and find something else to read.
This enemies to lovers romance was a pretty great read.
Quinn is a bit insecure after being very unlucky in love, and Lance's past doesn't help. Though all his 'sins' were laid bare, I did like and respect the fact that not only was he honest, but he genuinely was a changed person once he began to pursue Quinn. The pair have a lot to learn about working hard on relationships.
I enjoyed this romantic journey. Yes, at first, I felt a bit confused with the mention of so many characters so early in the book, but it was easy to keep them straight pretty quickly. I liked the way Lance & Quinn teased each other, even after their relationship changed.
If you're looking for an enemies to lovers read with lots of deep feelings, steam & humor, I recommend this one.
Quinn and Lance were frenemies in the beginning. There was an undeniable chemistry between them even thought they tried to fight it. Lance was trying to win Quinn's heart while she thought he JUST wanted her body. When the relationship status moved forward, Quinn was afraid to reveal it. Her experience from a past trauma made her real paranoid. I could understand her fear and it did irritate me on certain occasions. I am so glad that she got over her fears and was ready to give love a chance. Seeing Reese's story progress was great as well. I am looking forward to Blair's tale.
Wow, glad I stuck around for the second installment! The first one in the series about Reese and Gabriel was good but at times the story dragged and really didn't speed up until the last 1\4 of the book. I liked Quinn and Lance in that book so I was eager to see them finally get together and boy did Reon not disappoint! Their chemistry was palatable from day one and I'm glad they got the love story they deserve. Now it's on to the third and final book to find out how Blaire will find her happy ending!
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I had a hard time connecting with Quinn at first. She judged Lance for being a playa, while at the same time, she couldn’t wait to get into his pants. I loved the idea of chaste dating, but was disappointed that they only lasted like a week. I was hoping it would have lasted for the majority of the book. The conflict, which happened near the end of the book was good. I enjoyed when the tables were turned on Quinn for a bit. I really enjoyed Lance’s grandma Toots and Quinn’s sisters. I like the set up for Blair’s story. I’m intrigued already.
He Could Be The One features another Sommers sister, Quinn, and her nemesis, Lance Donovan who decides that he and Quinn will become lovers, no matter what she says. So, just how will he win the lovely Quinn who has him pegged as a womanizer? That's the beauty of this story, and I recommend that you pick up a copy. One thing for sure, Quinn and Lance together are one HOT couple! So, get ready for a sexy time. It's a good read.
I enjoyed reading this love story. I enjoyed Quinn and Lance’s journey. I always heard one person can make a man change. I saw abandonment issues and trust issues. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, it has grown-up sexy love. It was intriguing, mysterious and so well written. I wanted to meet the families and friends, because the characters were so fully developed. The story line held my attention and kept my interest.
A nice romance story of foes to lovers. I thought it was a little drawn out in some places, but never the less, the story was full of laughs, tender romance and a little drama. One-click and see what happens on Misty wood Lane with Quinn and Lance. Is he the One?
I really wanted to like this book. This is the first book I've read by this author and while I found the begininng fun and cute, I later found Quinn to be irritating and the cat and mouse game between her and Lance was getting old.
Quinn and Lance were soon funny! I loved them and their love for each other once they connected. Toot was precious, and her love for Lance was heartwarming. I really loved this book!
I loved the story. The romance was borderline erotic! It was actually erotic to my modest eyes... but oh well. I look forward to reading the other novels.
We were first introduced to Lance and Quinn in the first book. Lance and Gabriel are friends and co-worker and Reese and Quinn are sisters. Lance and Quinn have been arguing with each other at every gathering they attended, and the family has gotten so use to it. You would have thought they was a couple, but they weren’t until unbeknown them that there feeling was changing. Lance begin to realize that he wanted more with Quinn, but with his reputation has a lady’s man, he knew thing will have to change before Quinn would even consider given him a chance. Quinn had decided after her ex-boyfriend betrayal her that she would take a break from men and dating, so it has been a while since she been with a man.
At Thanksgiving dinner Quinn was inform that Lance would be coming and will be bring a friend with him and let just say that Quinn was all in her feeling and couldn’t put her figure out why. Everybody knew that once Lance and Quinn are in a room together that their bickering will begin, but this time it didn’t happen. Quinn was so use to Lance teasing her and coming on to her that when it looks as if that wasn’t going to happen she didn’t know how to take it, but once again Lance prove her wrong, on the particular nights things went a little future then it would normally do and she was so HOT for him in the pantry that she begin to realize that she has feeling for Lance.
Since Lance had already decided he was tired of playing game, he wanted a relationship with Quinn he propose that for 30 days they would date and they will get to know each, because with Lance reputation and Quinn trust issue, Lance thought in 30 days he would prove to her that they are and will be good together. I have to say there was some moment that I wanted to strangle Quinn; Girlfriend made him jump through hoops.
I have to say that Ms. Laudat develop her characters so well by pulling back the layers so you can connect with them, the love she show how the sisters are close and the friends are just as close and that family Is everything. The secondary characters in the story only help the story move
Overall, this was a nice, fun, sexy love story with some laugh-out-loud moment. I am looking forward to reading the third book in the series.
I highly recommend this book; you will not be disappointed.
