Whitton ‘Skinny’ Thorne – scarred skin only covers a beautiful soul.
Bitter with a capital B.
Life has been hell from the beginning when Whitton was burned as an infant, yet as much as he pushes me away I’m always coming back for more.
When I finally let go, he wants to let me in, how do I survive when we’ve both been scarred?
*Chelsea Camaron and Ryan Michele have teamed up to bring you an explosive new MC romance that will have you panting for more of the Ruthless Rebels. Hold on tight, it's going to be a wild ride full of action and suspense that these two authors are known for. Throw in two people who finally get their second chance, and things are about to get smoking hot.**
**This book contains violence, adult language, and sexual situations and is not intended for readers under the age of 18. This book is a work of fiction and is not meant to be an exact depiction of life in a motorcycle club but rather to entertain.*
USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Chelsea Camaron is a small town Carolina girl with a big imagination. She is a wife and mom chasing her dreams.
She writes contemporary romance, erotic suspense, and psychological thrillers. She loves to write blue-collar men who have real problems with a fictional twist. From mechanics to bikers to oil riggers to smokejumpers, bar owners, and beyond, she loves a strong hero who works hard and plays harder.
I hate how weak all these heroines are. No one stands their ground anymore. They all cave in and drool over the Heros. They hate them, never want to see them again, tell them no but with one look or one stupid line they throw it all out the window. I mean come on have some respect for yourself.
It was a pretty short book. Got through it in one sitting. Didn't need to skip or anything just wasn't that invested in this story line.
Would have liked a more expanded epilogue. Fast forward a few months of a year or two. There was no progression with their relationship. It was more of TT/Waylons book setup.
Scarred is the third Novella in the Ruthless Rebels MC by Chelsea Camaron and Ryan Michele. True to the series, it was a second chance at forever love.
Scarred was told in a dual POV, from Whitton and Roe's perspective. Whitton Joseph "Skinny" Thorne was scarred from his childhood - both emotionally and physically. Roelyn "Roe" Dupree also had it rough at times until she met her best friend aka love of her life. Her heart belonged to him but he left her and never looked back. Until now.
Whitton was a twin with Waylon as his other half. "Bonded as twins, bonded as brothers and bonded by the times life kicked them while they were down." They had a hellacious childhood but they were devoted to each other and had a connection that couldn't be broken. Together they left the small town where they were raised and left everything behind, including Whitton's love, Roe.
Fast forward several years and the twins were called back to their hometown for a job by their MC. Roe was caught in the crossfire and they were forced to revisit their past, present and future.
Although I loved the premise of the storyline, there was a sad undertone throughout. And I struggled with feeling the connection between Whitton and Roe. Whitton seemed detached to be able to leave Roe as he did. As such, I preferred a longer book for this storyline. I needed more depth and dimension to both characters.
There were also quite a few editing errors, primarily missing and incorrect words. Although not a deal breaker, it was annoying and distracting at times.
On a bright side, we had a brief cameo from The Ravage MC. It's not necessary to read the series before reading Scarred; however, it's a not to miss series if not already read.
All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read. Additionally, the authors did well for setting the stage for the next book in the series, Schooled. I can't wait to see where the authors take us as we dive into the mind of Waylon, aka TT or Triple Threat.
This is my favorite of the series. I love Whitton Thorne and Roelyn Duprey. I love even more our female leads occupation! Go teachers! Childhood friends with Whitton and his twin brother TT; Roe took care of the boys as best as a child could helping them heal with friendship and love after their continued abuse from their mother. Friendship turns into love but years take them apart.
At the funeral of the boys now men's foster parents, Roe has never forgotten either of her childhood friends but especially Whitton. However her heart can't take another break as Whitton destroyed it the first time leaving her to heal and piece herself back together. Whitton still hasn't moved past his younger years and the trauma he endured. He can't make a lifetime promise or even a day long promise. Keeping Roe away is best but is it possible?
There are so many amazing things in this release. A storyline that is shattering, an appearance from an old friend from Ryan's books and so many fantastic secondary characters. This again is by far the best release yet. The cover is beautiful. Great read and Amazon no continued collaboration! Click it up! Thank you for the ARC . Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath the Sheets!
Whitton “Skinny” Thorne may be scarred on the inside and out but he has a beautiful soul that a very few get to see. Roelyn “Roe” Duprey was one of those people. She was able to see past his scars and only see the beauty underneath. They were childhood friends that turned into childhood sweethearts until one night "Skinny's" brother "TT or Triple Threat" called him for help and he left. He convinced himself he was no good for "Roe" and tried his best to push her away but 10 years later business called him back to the town he wanted to forget and guess who happens to be mixed up in it all!! But once their paths crossed again there was no going back. I was curious about "Skinny" from the previous books and now that I know what happened to him, my heart hurts!
Title: Scarred (Ruthless Rebels MC, #3 Author: Chelsea Camaron & Ryan Michele Genre: MC Romance Rating: 5/5
This is book three in the Ruthless Rebels MC series and it focuses on Roelyn and Whitton who were childhood sweethearts but Whitton left her heartbroken now ten years later he goes by the name "Skinny" and what originally separated them brings them together again this time he's determined not to leave her behind, when she's placed in danger he steps up to claim what's his.
I love, love, loved this I couldn't put it down from the moment I opened it on my Kindle that was me captivated, not just reading it but living it I've never wanted to be part of an MC so much.
I connected well with Roelyn and Skinny they were great characters as were the secondary characters and it was a great storyline.
I love it when these two collaborate as I know I'm in for a treat, individually in their own right they are amazing authors put them together and you've got a dynamic duo who know how to write a story that packs a punch filled with a host of emotions, there's pain, loss, love, heartbreak and a whole heap of drama.
Seriously this one was so far the best. I loved Whitton and Roe's story.
Whitton and his brother were foster kids and their mother was one messed up women. She was so messed up that she disfigured Whitton when he was little just because she thought that his brother was better than him
But when Whitton met Roe she never treated him differently, she treated him like he was her hero. But Whitton didn't want Roe to be stuck with him, he wanted her to have a better life and that meant he had to leave and his brother needed him to help him out of a situation he got himself in. So when Whitton came back to Town he knew it was only a matter of time before he saw her again. And when he saw Roe again he knew he couldn't walk away again.
Loved this story. Only thing I didn't like was that she forgave him too quickly. But other than that I loved every minute of this story, and man I can't wait for Waylon "TT's" story
A great story. Whitton and Roe had spent time together when they younger. They became sweethearts and Roe gave herself to Whitton, but he left her when his brothers needed him. 10 yrs later she still thinks of him and he of her, he had to leave at the time, but he still loves Roe and always will. As time passes he has to return, his name is now Skinny and he knows there's a chance they might meet again. He's kept tabs on her but actually seeing her is a different matter. And he knows he can't and won't walk away again. There's lots of sad emotions which just pull at your heart in this story but also happiness too. Roe fights with the chemistry between her and Whitton, and Whitton just wants Roe back, he knows she still loves him and will use any trick at his disposal to get what he wants. I loved how the story developed and changed as it progressed and the characters were wonderful. An excellent story, I highly recommend it!
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, twists & turns, suspense, and heartbreak.
I would recommend reading the below story before this one: Shamed (Ruthless Rebels MC 1) Scorned (Ruthless Rebels MC #2)
This is Roelyn and Whitton "Skinny" Thorne’s story. Roelyn and Whitton were in love but he had to leave her behind. When Whitton left Roelyn she was broken but knew she had to push through the pain and live. Bow 10 years later Whitton is back and determined not to leave Roelyn behind. What forced them apart and what brings them back together is sad and painful but this couple’s love is strong and willing to weather the storm. When danger comes for Roelyn he knows he is going to step up and claim her like he should have years ago.
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I love the Ruthless Rebels series Scarred is the third installment. This novella series is so filled with emotion, drama, heartbreak, love and second chances. This sis the story of Whitton and Roelyn better known as Roe and Skinny. After seeing each other again by chance at a funeral for Skinny foster parents all the feelings from the past come rushing back. Roe has had her heart broken and doesn't want to every go through that again. Skinny still loves Roe but can he make her happy? This story is my favorite of the theee so far I was an emotional mess. Cheering them on as I continued you read. If you haven't read this series please go now you will not be disappointed. I was given this book for an honest review
Skinny aka Whitton and Roe's story is one I knew would be emotional. The insanity and evil that are allowed to have and keep children, even after horrendous abuse time after time is sickening ! It breaks my heart what some children, who survive, have been through ! I loved Whitton and Roe, I loved their history, their connection and their love even through physical and emotional scares they both have. Each mc book seems to be second chance romances. Once the mc characters decide to give love a chance it is Insta couple! Continued characters, sexy times amazing mc stories with Hea and epilogue, in this book adorable scarred 4y.o. who finds a true family, what more could you ask for? Longer stories because you don't want them end! On to Waylon aka triple threats story, he is definitely my kinda book boyfriend material!
wow this one was a cute story how Roe always saw the best in Skinny and would not give up on him even when he just saw the demons of the past.It made me feel like it's something alot of ppl could relate to sometimes u don't have the HEA that u expect but if it's ment to be
Ryan Michele and Chelsea Camaron did a great job on this book. The story is well written. Kept me on the edge of my seat. The story is filled with emotions. Loved Skinny and Roe. They are perfect together. Great connection. This is a great story. I really enjoyed it. Thank you, Ryan Michele and Chelsea Camaron. Great work :)
I’m really liking this novella series! The books are short, action packed and to the point!!
Roelyn “Roe” Duprey and Whitton “Skinny” Thorne were childhood friends and sweethearts. Skinny and his twin TT or Triple Threat suffered unfathomable abuse at the hands of their crazy mother and Roe was the only person to look past his scars and accept him for the person he truly is. Years pass and both cannot forget how much the other meant to them.
A chance meeting at funeral of Skinny and TTs foster parents reignites their past and feelings for each other. Roe is on guard because she doesn’t want her heart broken again and Skinny doesn’t want to make a promise that he cannot keep. This story had so much emotion in it and Skinny’s story was just heartbreaking. We also get a cameo appearance from one of Ryan’s MC characters that readers will enjoy! When trouble comes knocking, will Roe and Skinny come to terms with their past and move forward, or will the past of heart break and sorrow keep them apart as it did all these years?
This was a great novella and I am so looking forward to TT’s story!

Scarred is the third novella to feature the Ruthless Rebels MC and is Whitton Thorne and Roelyn Duprey's story. This pair have a history they were friends who became lovers, and after ten years apart Whitton still holds a place dear in Roelyn's heart.
Their story is emotional, and quite heartbreaking and features characters that are intriguing, endearing and intense, as they endeavor to find happiness a second time. Haunted by his past Whitton is a complex character broken, brash, cocky and crude, but loyal and one dirty talking alpha.
An MC romance full of action, drama, angst, emotion and heat. Although you don't have to have read the previous novella's in this series, the previous characters do appear and their stories continue.
I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Ruthless Rebels series and look forward to the next installment featuring Whitton's twin brother. I'd recommend this read to anyone who enjoys an MC romance that is quite fueled by emotion and has a touch of intrigue and suspense.
The Ruthless Rebels are back and it is time for the brother with scars inside and out to find his way and head back to his future.
Everyone can see that Skinny has had a hard life. There is no way to hide his scars and every day brings the same reaction for him. Bitterness is his constant companion. There are have only been two people in his life that he would do anything for, other than the club. His brother has been by his side from the beginning and he would walk through hell him, and he has. But it is not his brother that he would take on the Devil for, but the love that he left behind. Now it is time to face the past, and maybe make his future brighter.
Roelyn Duprey has been existing. She enjoys teaching the young minds that walk through her doors, but it is the special cases that pull at her heart because they remind her the boy that she loved. The boy that she loved and who left to follow his brother instead of stay with her. But now Whitton “Skinny” Thorne is back and Roe knows that that love hasn’t died, but only lay dormant. When Roe lands right in the middle of Ruthless Rebels business, Roe must put her trust and her life in Skinny’s hands. Hoping that not only will she be safe, but that this will time she will get her happily ever after and not have her heart shattered a second time.
Skinny and Roe are beautiful together! I have been interested in Skinny and Triple Threat since SHAMED, and SCARRED did not disappoint. Not only can readers see that Skinny is more than the dominant biker that he portrays. He is a strong soul that feels for those around him, including a beautiful little girl in this story that stole my heart. Roe is his perfect match as she looks below the surface and finds what is underneath.
There were times that I laughed during the story and times that I ugly cried due to what was happening. The characters and the storyline sucked me right into the book and wouldn’t let me go until I finished every page. And then they left me wanting more. The dialogue is kicking and the sex scenes are scorchers! I cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out. Thank you Chelsea Camaron and Ryan Michele for another awesome story in this freaking hot as hades series.
This is the first novel that I have read from Chelsea Camaron or Ryan Michele. I can not say that I am disappointed in any way. I fell in love with this series! The Ruthless Rebels MC rocks! The writing, storyline and depth of characters blew me away. By the end of the first chapter I was locking the door so no one could find me as I quickly read this series. The only thing that threw me for a little while was this was book 3 in the series. But you are so drawn into the characters and their story you quickly catch up. Skinny and Roe were best friends … a choice … and he left town breaking her heart. Fast forward 10 years…Guess who is back. Whitton ‘Skinny’ Thorne’s life has shown him now mercy where he doesn’t allow many to see past his terrible scars – emotionally and physically from his family. He finds his place in his family in the Ruthless Rebels MC. Roelyn ‘Roe’ Dupree thought he was her best friend who had given him her heart watched as he left and never looked back until NOW. NOW the twins are back in town for a funeral and I wonder how much can a heart break? Row is caught in the crossfire as the twins were called back to their hometown. Will the flames still be there? They will revisit their past, present and future where you can feel the sadness that flow through the souls of both characters. The quote that got me and just wrapped me was this one: “The power you have in those eyes, Whitton. It’s the kind of power that can break a girl’s heart in one glimpse.” This MC has their own rules protect the club, brothers and family. Will they get their second chance? I just want to wrap my arms around him and give him a long hug. I don’t want to spoil this and as it is such a quick read I hope you take my review to heart and give this exciting series a chance. This is a quick and entertaining read giving an excellent lead in to the next book in the series. It will be interesting to see where these authors take this exciting series. *Crossing fingers TT!* Don’t forget to check our that beautiful cover it definitely caught my eye.
4 HEARTS!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Sometimes it's not the physical scars that cause so much pain. It's the internal ones that hurt the most.
Roe always knew that there was more to Whitton (Skinny) than how he looked. The little boy she knew as boy had her heart from day one. Who cared that he was from a trouble home, he was her home. Always there to keep her safe and warm. But when Whitton's twin brother decides to leave town, Whitton has to make the hardest decision of his life.....leave or stay.
Fast forward 10 years and Ruthless Rebel Skinny (Whitton) has to back to his hometown for a funeral. However the quick in and out trip was suppose to be a easy one. Go to the funeral And then leave but when he locks eyes with his past, Skinny is a goner.
Roe didn't think going to the funeral would be emotionally difficult, well the funeral was okay but the scarred man in the back row caught her eyes. He was back and he heart broke a little more. Why after all these years was Whitton Back? What more can one person do to make her crumble?
After being told that there is work in his hometown, Skinny and his brother are forced to honker down and get intel. However with Roe at the forefront of his mind, his task is hard to accomplish. To top it off he when finds out that Roe is somehow tied to his "job",Skinny has to make a decision. Does he try and reclaim what is rightfully his or does he just let her go and live her life?
Scarred is the third novella in the Ruthless Rebels MC Series and by far the most gut wrenching. It deals with some pretty sad issues but I will tell you that it does have a happy ending. All of the MC brothers make apperances, even my fave Shamus. The way Roe loves Whitton is just downright magical and totally goes along with the saving "You can't judge a book by its cover". Now this book did have a little bit of mystery when it came to the twin brother Waylon. We still don't know why he left home or for whom but I am excited to see where his story goes.
This ARC Was provided in retune for my honest review.
Another good one! Yep, the Rebels rode right into my heart with this one. There is a little person who will steal your heart. She isn't a big part of the story, however, you will remember her.
Now, Whitton/Skinny followed his twin out of town and away from the girl who owned his heart. The men found a home with the Rebels. They followed orders to go back to that town on an investigation that timed with the death of the couple who'd given the twins a taste of goodness. It was at their funeral Whitton saw her again. Roe. She still had his heart.
All it took to reignite their fire was a few minutes together. The fact she was possibly connected to the investigation gave him his excuse.
Roe was a preschool teacher and loved her kids and they return her love. She found herself with a new little person who had burn scars too, reminding her again of her love and loss.
The story in touching in so many ways. The MC has their own rules they live and die by. Protect the club, their brothers, and their family. If you belong to one of them, you belong and are protected by them all. This is a family with more loyalty than most blood relatives. Roe learns the lesson Whitton already knows. Another chance at happiness and his club? Can Roe accept the new him? He knows she once loved him but he deserted her. Never again if she'll believe him.
Danger draws them closer. Will the violence of his life be too much?
The characters and loyalty make these stories unforgettable. I enjoy checking up on the characters from the preceding books in the series, however, it is unnecessary to read the others. You'll just be missing out on some great reads. They may not be long stories but they are packed with feeling, steam, characters you love and cheer for, did I say steam. Yep plenty of that. A solid recommend from me. Reviewed For Words Turn Me On
So I have been waiting for this novella. I will admit that I was a little bit worried about this story when I first went into it. I felt a little disappointed in the second novella in this series. Something was missing in the second novella for me, so wasn't sure what to expect with this book. But I have to say I'm so happy with this novella, the author's didn't disappoint with this one.
Oh Whitton..... My heart broke for the child/boy/man that he was and became. He seems to carry the burdens of what his mother called him ever since she was pregnant on his shoulders. He also seems to carry the burdens of his twin brother on his shoulders also. Whitton was such a sweet, caring, protective guy. You could tell how much he cared about his twin brother Waylon, because honestly their relationship could have gone either way because of their mother. You could tell how much he still cared about and how much he still felt for Roe, when he first see's her again.
I loved Roelyn, or Roe as she goes by. She's a woman that has a sweet, sweet soul. Even since she was a child she didn't care about the outside appearance of Whitton, she didn't see the scars that covered his body. She saw the good in him. And even years later she's still like that, which is apparent when she meets a young girl Marlayn who has the same scars as Whitton.
I did really enjoy this book and as I said above I feel like the authors got back to the roots of this series. All of these books are a second chance romance for all the men and women in these books. I really like that you could tell how much these characters still cared for each other and had feelings for each other. The authors also didn't disappoint with the action. And they definitely didn't miss with the Smexiness!!!!
I'm giving this book 4.5 Stars out of 5 and can't wait for Schooled!!!!!
***I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book for my honest opinion***
I am in so deep with the Ruthless Rebels MC!!! I have become a very big fan and I loved this story so much more than the first two! It may have something to do with the fact that kids are involved and I just love children, and with the love that Roe shows her kids tugged at my heart.
Roelyn (Roe) Duprey is a teacher in her hometown where she has had an effect on so many people in this town, and even some that left the town. Growing up in a small town she became best friends with a boy who not many even turned his direction but then after a heart felt moment he disappeared. She has lived with that heartache and is now finally getting her heart back, or so she thought. I had mixed feelings about Roe because at times she made decisions that I wanted to throw my phone at her head about, because DUH bad ideal lady! But then other times I loved the woman she was and all she had to give of her heart.
Whitton Thorne (Skinny) had such a rough start in life with his twin brother Waylon (TT) which in I think made them the men they are and will become. I could not come to terms with the pain they had to deal with but all the unheard of HORRIBLE things Whitton went through had me wanting to throw up because I was so disgusted with certain people in their lives. I enjoyed most of the couples of this series but I feel like this book had the best couple so far and I can not wait to see how Waylon's story turns out!
I think this was the best of the series so far and I feel so hard for these characters and the mysteriousness of Waylon has my interests ready to sky rocket so be able to read!! These brothers were awesome to read about and I can't wait to see what these authors have next for the Ruthless Rebels MC! Congrats on an amazing series so far ladies!!
When I started this series I knew I was gonna love it .. I mean, it is Ryan Michele and Chelsea Camaron, the queens of biker bad asses, what'd I expect right?
I'm so happy that Skinny got his own story and I'm happy that he got his happily ever after .. He was one of the characters I was rooting for from the beginning—his name piqued my interest and I had to know him ..
Poor Skinny had the worst kind of upbringing and a lesser man would've crumbled under that type of overwhelming heartbreak—but not Skinny. He carved out his own slice of happiness in the world and her name is Roelyn ..
Roe didn't have the best kind of childhood either, but from the age of 8 it got significantly better .. she meets a kid who changes her world and permanently leaves his imprint on her life .. of course, I'm talking about Skinny aka Whitton ..
When these two finally come together after being apart, everything is their worlds seem to get brighter .. their love for each other is so beautiful that it kind of becomes another character in the story .. It's amazing to see it where it starts, how strained it becomes and eventually how beautiful it blossoms ..
Their story is amazing because it's not one of those stories that has so much going on that you lose the story line, it has just enough of everything to make it perfect to follow and fall in love with ..
"Scarred" is a must read book! If you're looking for a story to keep your attention from beginning to end, "Scarred" is definitely it .. Skinny and Roe are perfect for each other and you'll love them as much as I do ..
This book focuses on the relationship between Roe and Whitton. Roe is a pre school teacher that knows how hard it can be growing up. Her best friend Whitton was in and out of the foster system. His mother was a crazy lady that wanted to physically tortured him because she believed he was evil and his twin was destined for greatness. Well when Roe and Whitton got older one night they took things to far. He left the next day and never looked back. Her on the other hand had always thought about him and could never let him go. She knew how great he was and always tried to make him see beyond his physical appearance. When a deal goes down with his MC he ends up having to go back home to keep eyes on the guy that wants to buy a ton of merchandise. But when hes staking the place out he sees Roe and that she's close with the mans wife. He knows whatever this guy has going on can be bad news for Roe. He wants to protect her. But when some bikers show up at the school where she works and the director comes and tells her to call a # to tell her husband she went with the club she knows its bad news. Of course Whitton tells her not to call the # but she does which ends up putting her on the other bikers radar. Now she has to decide if she can leave her home and start over with the man she loves. I absolutely loved this couple. And cant wait for the next book in this series. This could be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the other books also. It doesn't really have a cliff hanger but it does start off with what will be Whitton's brother, Waylon's story. I can't wait. - By Mandi
Roelyn “Roe” Duprey really cares about her students. Whitton “Skinny” Thorne is a troubled man. He shows us that not all scars can be seen and are not all on the outside. This story doesn’t start off happy or filled with hope. It’s sad and depressing. But it brightens a little when Roe and Whitton reunite.
Whitton appears vulnerable when he’s around Roe. He doesn’t think he deserves her and we’ll just have to see if she believes in second chances. This story is not just about two people reconnecting. He does belong to an MC after all. But I didn’t find that his club was in your face here. But things get interesting when what his group does bleeds into Roe’s job. The sad part is it happens three quarters of the book. The good news is that it will have you riveted in order to see the outcome. But that doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy the story until that point. It just means that I kept waiting for more and got impatient.
It is suggested you read this series in order. But I didn’t feel that I was missing anything by not having read the first two books. Wanting to know more about the club than I will need to go back to read the first two of the series in order to catch up. Whitton is a twin and wanting to know more about his brother just means that I will have to read Schooled. And by the time I got to the end of this story my fate was solidified.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Roelyn has always had a good heart. She sees the best in everyone and looks past the scars on Whitton/Skinny. Roe has been in love with Skinny for most of her life even though he up and left her to follow his twin brother. Roe becomes a pre-school teacher and when she gets a new student that is fostered by the same couple that took care of Whitton and Waylon she can't help but love the child. Roe knows that the girl has some scars on her skin and inside that will take a long time to heal if ever so Roe does the only thing that she can and that's to be a friend. Whitton/Skinny always lived in the background of his twin brother Waylon/Triple Threat or T.T. Skinny's mother always said that he was evil and his twin was good. Their mother would abuse Skinny and she ended up scarring Whits skin. The boys were moved to foster care and then got out of town as soon as they could without looking back. Whit only regrets leaving his only love Roe. The Rebels need Skinny and T.T. to go scope out a business that is wanting to buy weapons from them. When Whit returns home he goes to spy on Roe to see if she's happy. Little did he know that they would end up tied to the same situation. Will they be able to rekindle their love and survive? I received this book as an ARC copy for a voluntarily honest review. THIS BOOK IS THE BEST ONE OF THIS SERIES!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT AND RECOMMEND THAT YOU DON'T PASS UP READING THIS BOOK. RYAN AND CHELSEA DID AN AMAZING JOB WITH THIS SERIES AND ESPECIALLY THIS BOOK!!!! 📚📚📚📚📚
Roelyn and Whitton "Skinny" have not really seen each other in 10 years. He took off right after a night together where Roelyn was hoping for a future. His brother needed him and he left town without a backward glance. Roelyn has not really moved on and is just starting to get her feet underneath her. Roelyn knows she needs to get over Whitton and is just coming to grips with it when he returns to town on a stakeout for the Rebels MC. Roelyn is minimally involved in their investigation and Whitton thinks nothing of coercing her into letting him and his brother stay in her house. Roelyn tries to fight it, but succumbs to his charms pretty easily. For a woman who has been burned so many times by him, she really did give in a bit too easily for me. Whitton seems himself as being unworthy of her and it takes a lot to get him to see the truth. His mother treated him horribly and he bears both the physical and mental scars to prove it. Roelyn just loves him for him and knows it is an uphill battle to get him to acknowledge it, let alone accept it fully. When lives are in danger, Whitton does what he needs to in order to keep her safe and an innocent child who is also caught up in the drama. Roelyn and Whitton do have a heart-to-heart where they both lay it on the line. It was nice to see Whitton come to grips with what he has to do and realize where his loyalties really need to lie. Raelyn isn't trusting at first but, when push comes to shove, she makes a decision and follows through. It was an interesting ride and a quick, easy read.
This story was amazing and I don't just say that because I've read both these authors work before I truly mean it. It blew me away with the writing, the story line and even the characters. I couldn't get enough I was happy how it ended I just was left craving even more then what I was in the middle of the story. Skinny "Whitton" and Roe I love both there names, super unique and are both full of life not matter what life brings them. The story has a great pace, not fast or slow it's steady. Which makes you want to read more and more plus the details were super amazing. I love them. I felt like I was there and the story was being told to me not me just reading it. I really was able to see most of the details come to life. This is a MUST READ!! you get to meet new characters plus still know the old ones. The crime, love, death, and sex comes full circle in this story making it that much more better. I loved everything about it the alpha male, the slight alpha female, I also really liked how Rose could tell she needed help and wasn't scared to admit to it. I also loved how Skinny was able to over come his past and for once just feel something other then lost and pain. Over all they really make this story something great and interesting to read over and over again. I personally just couldn't get enough of them I felt at the end there was still more to them that needed to be told or maybe that's just me not wanting a great story to end. Read this story and the others in the series you don't want to miss out.
***I received this ARC for free in exchange for my honest thoughts***
This is the 3rd book in the Ruthless Renegade series that focuses on Skinny and the love of his life, Roe. Skinny and Roe have known each other since they were kids. Skinny was horribly scarred by his crazy mother, who literally thought he was the evil twin, he has a brother named Waylon, or TT, which is his club name. Years ago Skinny left his small town and the girl he loved behind for his brother. Now they have returned to deal with some club business so of course he runs into Roe, who is now a preschool teacher.
While she is still angry at him for leaving, she's still in love with him and they soon pick up where they left off. When Roe becomes the target of a rival gang, she leaves with Skinny and goes to his clubhouse where Skinny can keep her safe.
This book was entertaining but pretty predictable. I thought Skinny and Roe's chemistry was fine but it wasn't particularly intense. The plot is one that we've read many times in the MC romance genre, and unfortunately while the book is well written, there's nothing unique or memorable about the plot. The fact that Roe leaves her small town and all she knows to stay with Skinny and remains with him even after the danger is over is not really believable., particularly because she knows very little about MC life. Yes they love each other but the follow your man anywhere theme wasn't that convincing in this book.
I like the author's work a lot so hopefully the next book, which focuses on Waylon, will be better.
