Weapons of Mass Seduction

Rate this book
Fortysomething and still single, music-video exec Pia Jamison has given up her grandiose ideas on men and marriage but not motherhood. Her biological clock is on red alert, but after years of self-imposed celibacy she has no clue how to attract the man she needs to get the baby she wants. Help comes in the form of Pia’s savvy assistant, who tricks her boss into attending, under the guise of a business conference, a flirting workshop called Weapons of Mass Seduction. There Pia meets other women looking to amp up their amorous arsenals, including the devastated Texas belle Florence Chase, who’s trying to save her failing marriage; and Rebecca Vossel, a twenty-two-year-old small-town biracial girl who’s dying to release her inner diva.

What they learn about the art of sensuality and flirtation turns them into bona fide bombshells. The three return home, armed and deliciously dangerous, to spectacular results. Florence reunites with her husband, but the new and improved Flo must now determine if she’s staying in her marriage out of happiness or habit. The plain Jane Rebecca has transformed herself into the super-sexed “Becca,” but will she realize when she’s gone too far? And Pia is happily pregnant but unexpectedly falls in love—not with the father of her unborn child but with a sexy and very conservative candidate for the U.S. Senate.

Weapons of Mass Seduction is a fun and sexy book (think of it as a flirting workshop within a novel) that promises to unleash the sensual woman in you!

This book exceeded all my expectations, not that my expectations were all that high. I didn't really think I was going to like Weapons of Mass Seduction. I mean that title is super corny and the cover is...Well look at it!

I don't even know how this book got into my house. I didn't buy it and I've asked everyone who has been to my house if they left it. All of them said no. So where this book came from will remain a mystery. I didn't intend on reading it but I needed a book that had food on the cover for a read a thon I was participating in Summer A Thon. It turned out I only had 2 books with food on them this book and a Nora Roberts novel. I picked this one but I didn't end up finishing it during Summer A Thon but I liked it enough and decided to finish it.

Weapons of Mass Seduction is about 3 women Pia, Florence, and Becca who meet at a flirting work shop. Each needs help in some way unleashing their inner Goddess(I know guys, I just threw up in my mouth). I expected to hate this book. I wanted to hate it. I tried to hate it but I couldn't. Despite the cover and awful title this book was a sex positive, female empowering romance novel but instead of falling in love with a man, these women fall in love with their own selves.

Bottom line this book was the best thing I ever read but it was good and sometimes that's all a book needs to be.

Almost gave up on this book in the beginning. The first half is a seminar for women to find their “seduction”. It was a very long “self-help” part of the book and I almost gave up on it, even with it being an audiobook. The second half turned into more of a chick-lit story and got a little better but it wasn’t very memorable unfortunately nothing dramatic to keep you on your toes. Would not read again

Rebecca Vossel ultimately discovers there is more attraction than hooking a guy and sex. The guy she flirts with and hooks just plays the field. So her story concludes with her knowing herself and more of what she is looking for.
Flo discovers that her long term husband recently returned after departing for six months is no longer the man for her. He is extremely self centred so she has a new relationship but feels it may not the one but is excited to venture on a new life.
Pia Jamison baby sadly is stillborn but she and the US would be senator fall in love. He loses the election but will stand again next time.
Book starts on the physical level with little to no heart and no depth then quite cunningly moves to depth and matters of the heart passion and serious commitment. Quite a good book

I was looking for a light read when I got this book from the library. Descriptions of the book made it seem like it would be fun and interesting. It was humorous and light in the beginning, but it did hit some sad lows.

In this book, Pia's biological clock is ticking. Her doctor tells her now or never, so she sets out on the quest to have a baby. The only problem is that she has been celibate and has not had successful relationships with men lately. Her secretary sends her to a seminar about seducing men. There she meets Flo and Becca who become her friends. Pia finds a father for her baby with no strings attached, and eventually finds another man to love. However, tragedy strikes in her family and love life and send her world in an unexpected direction.

The seminar was the fun and interesting part of the book, but it was a short part of the book. The two other characters remained, but not with much influence. Becca seemed a bit too naive. Flo took a long time facing reality. Neither was all that important to the story in the long run.

When the tragedy struck in this book, it really dampened the mood for me. I struggled through the rest of the book just to finish.

If you do decide to read this one, check it out from the library instead of buying it.

The first half of the book was slow reading The second half was a lot better. I do say that when reading the first half of the book, I felt I was reading a self-help book--not that it was a bad thing. The quiz at the end of the book was nice. This book would be excellent for a book-club meeting.

The story of a 38 year old professional with no children. The woman desperately wants children so she goes into a “contract” with one of her exes. Sadly the child is a still born, but she meets an older gentleman who is also a political official and they begin to fall in love and start a life of their own, together.

I started his book, but it is definitely not one of those books you can't put down. It is very slow, you want to say "come on Pia get real girl"
