Sex is great.
Partying is great.
Love damn stressful.

Best friends Kelsa and Renee do not disagree on much, that is, until it comes to love and sex.
Renee may be too sweet and Kelsa may be too wild, but if they stick together, they may learn something.

Very quick and brief glimpse (couple of pages) into a new adult series about two friends

Gently Broken is a very quick and brief glimpse (literally just a couple of pages) into a new adult series about two fun loving friends with differing approaches to life and love. Obviously, only being a few pages long it’s difficult to asses the book and writing style; there is little detail (e.g. character physical descriptors) but I won't say that will be an accurate factor in the writing style going forth.

This brief intro shows typical new adult / college age behaviour with crass talking and drama. The cliffhanger that obviously sets up the series definitely leaves you wondering how things will play out. If I’m truly honest I have mixed feelings with this book about going forward as I find new adult books very hit and miss so I think I’ll possibly hold out and see whether the full length book entices me with it’s blurb before deciding whether to continue. However, while I may not have instantly connected with this book and characters, doesn't mean other readers won’t, especially if you are into new adult reads.

*I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

This was a fantastic and very interesting read. It was a quickie which is perfect for the reader who wants to read but doesn't have the time to commit to something long term.

Not only quick, but what a tease! Ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens next!

One day, Renee finds her boyfriend cheating on her which basically starts a chain of events for both her and her BFF Kelsa. This series promises to keep you on the edge of your seat and desperately wanting more. Bring it I say! But soon?

I am giving this quickie 5 stars.

This short story by Ava Alise was a wonderful addition to my day. Gently Broken is about love gone wrong and the ones that are affected by it. I truly enjoyed this book, it was a breath of fresh air. Would love to read more like this from Ava Alise.

**I did receive an author provided copy in exchange for my honest review**

This story is SHORT. However, in the limited length, I laughed, and my jaw hit the floor. I did not see that ending coming AT ALL! I found myself excited for short story two! I think the synopsis above gives you a good idea of the main plot of the story. I will say that there was a lot of swearing, so if that isn't your thing, read at your own risk. I'm also hoping the second is a little longer, this one ended way to fast. I am giving Gently Broken Short Story One 5-stars because I don't mind swearing, I liked the characters, and that plot twist was something else.

A short story that is a perfect teaser for a full book. Two friends, with completely different outlook on life and love. One night that gives you a glimpse of what to come and leaves you wanting more!

This was a very well written short introduction into the worlds of Kelsa and Renee. It definitely has me interested in seeing how these two will go about their lives and if they will find the one, even though Kelsa doesn't want it or believe in it. I look forward to reading more of Ava's work.

My rating 4.3 stars

This is a short story introducing the characters for the main book. It is well written and will appeal to readers of romance.

2 best friends who share a home but have different ways of dealing with the opposite sex.

Kelsa has become hardened to life and love. She has obviously been hurt in the past and is now determined that she will be the one to do the hurting. She is determined to grab life by the short and curlies and live it The story doesn’t describe the appearance of the characters so I found it difficult to get a picture in my head of what I thought she looked like.

Renee was recently badly hurt and unable to cope with her loss seeks relief from her pain at the bottom of a bottle and is not capable of getting home unaided. I see Renee as a very compassionate person who doesn’t cope too well with the imperfections she finds in men.

It is a good read. Possibly too much swearing but that does give the reader a bit more insight into Kelsa.

Thank you to Ava who gave me a free copy of this story.

A good intro short story that left me wanting to know more, I didn't see the twist coming. It's ultimately going to be a story about friendship and giving love a chance and a second chance to either make or break you.

Short, fun, and quick. Basically long enough to be introduced to the characters. Curious to read more. I know it was a short story but wish it would be longer than 10 pages.

It's a short piece, but Alise introduces you to characters that are obviously engaging and interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next in the story, and especially looking forward to her full-length debut!

This was a very short story. It gives you a quick look into Kelsea and Renee’s lives and what goes on with them. I consider it more of a quick teaser in a way. It gives you a little taste into the authors writing but will definitely have you wanting the full book as soon as you finish. Im glad I received both at the same time otherwise I’d probably go crazy. I really enjoyed this quick story and will be reading the full book
