Describing the Quintinshill railway disaster - the most terrible in the history of British railways at the time the book was written - in 1915. It involved five trains, three of which collided ncluding a crowded troop special, more than 200 soldiers perished.
Very informative, quite startling what rules could be broken without anybody being aware. I thoroughly recommend this book, if you can find it, to anybody who is interested in steam railway history.
