This is a book about ordinary people--plumbers, artists and accountants, bakers and beauticians, teachers and lawyers--who have been able to receive communication from loved ones who have died. Included here are accounts from over 80 people across the country who have had contact with the dead through the diaphanous veil that separates them from the living.
The book begins with the story of Annie's dead daughter appearing to her in the early morning hours. The communication was so transformative that she began to share her experience. Much to her surprise, she discovered that after-death communication is much more common than is normally assumed, and she began to connect with other folks across the country who had similar experiences.
Each of the ten chapters is organized around a specific kind of after-death communication. Included here are chapters on dreams, verbatim conversations, and synchronicity through nature and various other physical manifestations, descriptions of the results of these occurrences, and advice on how to open up to after-death communication. This book inspires in the reader reassurance, courage, healing, and a sense of wonder.
From the author: -The time is ripe for people to recognize the blessing of how frequently our dead beloveds return . . . to confirm the reality that consciousness continues beyond the grave and to remind us that there is much more to death than the physical cessation of breath and pulse. It is time to break the silence, time to stop keeping these powerful healing experiences to ourselves. It is time to allow the experiences themselves, and the positive effect they have on the living.-
There's so much in this book I can relate to one way or another, that I had to read it in parts so I could digest it properly and keep the pain to an acceptable level. Wouldn't have liked to miss out on this one though.
A very interesting book that reassures you that the chance of more than one life is great. It is not so much about whether you actually feel contact with a deceased person but the feeling that you loved ones are with you gives reassurance. It is also more important to really want to be open in a way that suits you. The book provides many interesting solutions that are really worthwhile. A beautifully written book.
This book is about ordinary people whose loved ones that have passed on and communicated with them. Here are stories of 80 people who have had contact with the dead. These stories are of inspiration and hope. A really great read!!!!
There are often unfinished conversations or missed opportunities for interaction that occur when a person dies. In this book, the author gathered stories from ordinary people who communicated with someone after their death through a dream, vision, or verbal interchange. The degrees to which the interactions take place seem to depend upon on how strong the relationships were prior to death. The anecdotal remembrances used to support the possible of life after death is interesting and human emotions realistic. Mattingley provided limited notes and a bibliography.
I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Although encouraged, I was under no obligation to write a review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Poignant tale of a woman's ADC(after death communication) with her adult daughter after her daughter's suicide...but also filled with other anecdotes of others' ADCs. Touches upon reincarnation and includes a bibliography which I will explore. If you're interested in ADCs I recommend this book.
