Years ago, Solomon LaRue’s life was ripped apart when his fiancée was taken from him brutally and without cause. After, he vowed to never love again and put all of his energy into defending New Orleans from the evil Voodoo priestess out to destroy everything he held dear. Until a beautiful and maddening witch from the Quarter comes into his life and shakes everything up. Now, he thinks of nothing but her, and despite the dangers surrounding his family, he can’t help but alter his plans to make sure she stays safe. At all costs.
HER REASON FOR BEING
For most of her life, Minka Verdin thought she was nothing more than a gifted fortune teller until a life-altering experience brought her into her powers. Now, honed and hardened to be the weapon she knows she can be, she has no time for lust and love in her life. Unfortunately, a certain sexy-as-sin werewolf occupies her thoughts—and her heart—day in and day out. Minka knows that the survival of many is always more important than the safety of one, and she is more than willing to sacrifice herself so that those she loves remain untouched. But Solomon is having none of that and reminds her that there is no force as strong as the magic between them

What an AWESOME AMAZING Story. I am going back and reading the first two book. I love me some Paranormal Romance and this one was right up there for me.
Minka's coven lied to her and hander her over to the evil Voodoo Princess Delphine. If the LaRues didn't help her escape she would be dead right now. Now she is training and sharpening her magic to take on the evil Princess.
Solomon's life was ripped apart when the Evil Delphine killed his parents. Now he is responsible for his brothers and the rest of his family in the LaRues werewolf pack. He doesn't have time for romance when the previous women he gave his heart to was taken from him. Now he is in a war and how can he concentrate on that when he has feelings for Minka, feelings he didn't ask for or want. In a world where you can't trust anyone as their own weaknesses can be used against them, how can he happy when there is the threat of the evil Delphine and what she will do to his pack.
I loved this story, loved that these people just had each other and they can't lean on anyone but their close circle. And man that ending... WTH... Now... I need the next book Now...
I haven't read the previous books in this series and I wish that I had. Although, there are some clues in certain areas of the story, I feel that I have missed a big chunk of the whole picture. It's an interesting storyline.
Solomon is the alpha of the LaRue pack. He runs a restaurant with his family, and they are all responsible for the peace and safety of the paranormal world in New Orleans since they lost their parents to Delphine, an evil and powerful voodoo priestess. He suffered another loss seven years ago and has been avoiding getting involved with anyone, until now!
Minka is a witch, currently living in isolation after being threatened by the same evil priestess who is after her powers. She is friendly with the Larues but, keeps them at bay as any friends of hers are in danger too. Griffin, the alpha of the Moonstone pack keeps an eye on her. Her heart really lies with Solomon who appears to dislike her.
It's been six months since Minka managed to escape from Delpnine's claws and she knows that she is not completely out of the woods! The LaRues have her in high esteem, except apparently for Solomon. He is coaxed into paying her a visit which leads to a confrontation with Griffin. Alpha to alpha. Coincidentally, Minka has a vision on the same day. Her visions always come true! She contacts both packs to tell them about this vision and the LaRues persaude her to accompany them. For a break from being on her own!
She ends up staying with Solomon and although they initially come to blows, she sees a different side to him. His behaviour towards her in the past was denial! He can't resist the attraction towards her any longer and the bond between them is stronger than imagined.
In the meantime, Delphine is still plotting their demise and gives Minka an alternative. Everyone knows that she can't be trusted but, Minka is not prepared to put her friends in danger and Solomon doesn't want to lose her. There is a traitor among them but, he has his own reasons for betraying them.
Minka is powerful and compassionate. Solomon is loyal and loves without reservations. The family dynamics is commendable. A battle is inevitable and what transpires is very likely the beginning of another intriguing story. It's a great concept but, it's advisable to read the previous books in the series.
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
Their family line was cursed by a voodoo priestess generations ago. Now, they work to keep the peace between all the supernatural beings in New Orleans.
Solomon has no plans on letting another woman into his life. Not after he lost his fiance. The witch makes him think thoughts that he shouldn't be thinking. He goes out of his way to get her to hate him.
Minka is a witch with considerable powers. Enough power that her coven has tossed her out. Luckily for her, she has plenty of friends with the werewolves.
Or is it luck? Someone is feeding the voodoo priestess information about Minka. Someone close. Minka must choose - her life, or her friends' lives.
Moon Struck is a great escape for a couple hours. And you know the end is coming soon for a certain voodoo priestess!
Is it wrong that I don't want this series to end. The LaRue brothers are so dedicated to the city of New Orleans. They are responsible for keeping the different paranormal factions in check. Unfortunately a Voodoo Priestess wants control.
Solomon LaRue has been avoiding Minka, a powerful witch. It is getting harder and harder to keep her at arms length. When he becomes her protector there is no stopping the chemistry between them. The question is will Solomon and his brothers be able to keep her from the Priestess.
I have always loved the battles that Donna Grant writes in her books. This story was no different. The question is what happens when the dust settles. it is time to read book four to see what happens next.
ROOTING FOR ANYONE BUT DELPHENE AND HER FOLLOWERS OF
The LaRues and the Chaissons plus all who stand with them will win . These two series are the best of the best.Ms. Grant has been one of my two writers of choice when it comes to paranormals. I am very close to believing such things are real. Keep writing. I know I'll believe 100% soon😉
Wonderfully real characters, they draw you in right away. Great settings, New Orleans of course. Great flow to the story, edge of your seat action. Couldn't put it down. Going to read the cousins series after the next book. I have found a new favorite author. Thanks for the great stories!!
I've loved each book in this series and was so happy to read Solomons book. He and Minka are great together. I love the action suspense drama and romance and look forward to the next in the series
Always love the suspense of the LaRues..As with all of Donna's book you are hanging on every word. Donna has a way to make life in a book seem so real and that you are standing there as a character in the middle of the chaos. Love your books
This series just keeps getting better. Minka and Soloman have an intense attraction but he is in denial. Facing a Voodoo priestess intent on murder brings them together. The twists abound in this story. I loved it.
Solomon and Minka. He the oldest LaRue brother. The woman he loved was killed because she was his. Minka is a witch who captures his heart. Now they have to stand up to Delphine if they want a future together.
Solomon. There were a few points I wanted to smack him upside the head. There is also something I really want to say, but it is a spoiler so I won’t, but know the end had me SCREAMING. Minka is a witch with no coven, and Solomon is a LaRue. Solomon wants nothing to do with any woman not related to him because of his past. Minka knows she is a marked woman. Delphine is of course causing more trouble.
Minka Verdin is being hunted by an evil priestess all so the woman can steal Minka's powers to become more powerful. Determined to do all she can to keep her friends safe, Minka is ready to do whatever it takes, even if it means sacrificing herself. However, Solomon LaRue is determined to protect her at all costs. Will they be able to defeat the evil Delphine before Minka's visions come true, so they can achieve happy ever after?
Although I haven't read the other books of this series, this story can be read as a stand-alone and it was a story I absolutely enjoyed from start to finish due to the reasons Delphine wants Minka, what the evil priestess is willing to do to win, and the ending that left me wanting more of this series because of how it ended. The way this story started had me hooked because the heroine is intriguing and has been through a lot already, yet she knows she can't let her guard down for anything. What will Minka discover about those she's close with? Will she be able to handle what is bound to come her way?
As for the dialogue, it was fascinating due to the main characters back stories, the obstacles these two face including Minka thinking that Solomon doesn't like her, and the ending that had me concerned for the main characters. Will they be able to defeat Delphine? However, there were light-hearted moments that had me smiling, because the secondary characters are determined to push these two together and love to give Solomon advice that he should give Minka a chance. He can't hold onto the sorrows and loses of his past forever.
Moreover, the main characters made this story a really enjoyable read, but together with the secondary characters made it a book that I could not put down. Minka is strong and brave and I liked how determined she was to protect the people she cared about. She was willing to do whatever it takes to defeat Delphine, even if it was the last thing she did. I also liked how she challenged Solomon and I liked that she stood up to him after he did something that could have broken all the reasons she had for trusting him. While the hero, he's had it rough with those he loved dying, but I liked that he stepped up to his responsibilities as one of the beings responsible for policing the paranormal community. I also liked how protective he was of Minka, even though it isn't easy for him to give love another chance, not after what happened to the last woman he cared about. Yet, Minka is different. She can handle whatever comes her way, which is proven by how she deals with Delphine.
Overall, Ms. Grant has penned a wonderful read in this book where the pages flew by due to the interactions of the hero and heroine as well as the main characters with the secondary ones; the hot romance that shows these two are made for each other; and the ending that has me wanting to know what happens next for Minka and Solomon and all the secondary characters. Will they come out on top against the evil priestess? I would recommend Moon Struck by Donna Grant, if you enjoy paranormal romance, the enemy to lovers trope, or books by authors Dianne Duvall, Moira Rogers, Coreene Callahan and Lora Leigh.
Love those LaRue’s and hate, hate, hate Delphine the Voodoo Priestess. AND we had another battle where she got away. OMG! Is anyone ever going to kill that bitch? She’s like Ulrik in the Dragon Kings series by Donna Grant, you just can’t get rid of them. Unfortunately, it’s been over three years since Moon Kissed #1 was released and 2 years since Moon Thrall #2 was released so I really don’t remember the stories since I’ve read hundreds of book in-between BUT I do remember I liked them a lot. AND I do remember the players: Myles, Court, Kane, Riley, Skye and Addison, when I was reminded but I don’t remember who lived HEA. Not even this book reminded me of that. And I remember they take care of all the supernatural goings-on in New Orleans. I guess I remember a little as I read but I wish it hadn’t taken 2 years for this to come out.
This one was about Minka and Solomon. Great couple. She’s a witch and has serious feelings for Solomon and he’s fighting his feelings because his fiancé was killed 7 years earlier and he felt responsible for her death and he was afraid it might happen to Minka, too. Minka has visions and she saw Solomon and all the werewolves dead in the streets and decided to offer herself up to Delphine to save them all. Needless, that didn’t go as planned and they all stood together against the Priestess and pretty-much won. I mean, they didn’t die but the bitch got away, AGAIN.
Of course Delphine took Riley and now you have the LaRue’s and the Chiasson’s, Vincent, Beau and Lincoln, Riley’s brothers, Delphine will have to contend with.
There’s explicit sex in this novella and the F-bomb is used 5 times.
When the evil Voodoo Princess Delphine ripped Solomon's life apart, killing his parents and finacee, he swore to defend New Orleans against her. With a war brewing, Solomon needs Minka's powers to help win the war against Delphine. Minka's coven lied to her and gave to Delphine. If it hadn't been for the LaRues helping her escape to her great aunt's home in the bayou in secrecy, Minka would be dead. The LaRues are a werewolf pack that polices New Orleans in order to keep the supernatural world in order. They have band together with the Moonstone pack, who is watching over Minka. Minka's life changed when she made the decision to help Court LaRue and Skye Parrish in their fight against the djinn and vampire war, otherwise they would be dead and her presence wouldn't be known. After Minka had another vision, she decides to turn herself over to Delphine for the safety of everyone, but Solomon and the others have a different plan. Does Minka's friends become foes? Or does her foes become friends? Moon Struck, The LaRue Book Series #3, will keep you intrigued with its twists and turns of mystery, suspense, lies and deceit as you travel into a magical world of witches, werewolves, vampires and djinns. I would recommend this book. There is a Cliffhanger!!! I'm volunteering an honest review for an advance reader's copy.
Moon Struck by Donna Grant is the third book in the LaRue Series. Moon Struck can be read as a standalone, but I recommend to read the books in order. Book one, Moon Kissed, book two, Moon Thrall and book three Moon Struck. Meet Solomon LaRue, a werewolf and Minka Verdin, a powerful witch. Solomon was ripped apart when his fiancée was taken from him. He´s sworn to protect New Orleans from a evil Voodoo priestess, Delphine. But he needs Minka´s powers to help him fight the war. Minka Verdin is powerful She can be a dangerous weapon. She has no time for relationships, but a gorgeous werewolk occupies her thoughts. Moon Struck had me at the edge of my seat. There are so many unexpected twists and turns, I was breathless. This book has everything in it what I love in a PNR story. Danger, enemies, allies, lover, rivals, PNR beings and much more. I like the words and I like the writing. I give 4,5 stars and thank you Donna Grant!
"Moon Struck" by Donna Grant. Book 3 in the LaRue series.
I liked this story about Soloman and Minka. Both are characters we've already seen throughout the series.
Soloman is a werewolf and the oldest of the 4 LaRue brothers and he's sworn never to settle down with anyone. When Minka walked into their lives, Soloman denies his feelings for her. When Minka's life is in danger, Soloman is determined to keep her safe.
Minka is a witch and she's in danger along with her friends, the LaRues. The evil Delphine is after them. There's no question that she would sacrifice herself to save those she loves but Soloman is determined to keep her alive. She doesn't understand why because he's shown her nothing but contempt.
The story flows well. The characters are fully fleshed out and emotional. Good chemistry between Minka and Soloman.
I liked this book and will definitely read the next book in the series.
An evil Voodoo Priestess is out to steal Minka's powers as a witch. She already has murdered Solomon's parents. Solomon is the Alpha of the LaRue pack and is charged to keep New Orleans safe. He is standoffish to Minka because he just doesn't want to get close enough to like her since the death of his first fiancé 7 years ago. Minka knows she has feelings for Solomon but she thinks he can't stand her because he's always being rude and short with her. Will Solomon finally give in to his feelings for Minka? There is a war coming whose side will they all end up on, Minka or Delphine's?
I highly recommend this book. Ms. Grant tells a fantastic story. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Anticipating the next book in the series.
** I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review **
Witch, Minka Verdin has been hiding out in the Bayou because a very powerful Voodoo priestess is trying to kill her and steal her magical power. Solomon LaRue is the alpha werewolf in control of keeping the supernatural beings in New Orleans in line. He knows they have a big battle coming with the Voodoo priestess. She killed his parents and now threatens them all. This is part of a series that is best read in order. Unfortunately I haven't read the previous books so I was thrown into the middle. I still enjoyed this but it's only part of the whole story.
Book 3 in the LaRue saga once again pits the supernatural community in New Orleans against the Voodoo priestess Delphine. It also brings the witch Minka and the LaRue alpha, Solomon together. I could go on but I would risk spoiling the surprises in store for the reader. Rest assured that I am looking forward to the next installment of the the LaRues.
After losing his fiance Solomon LaRue wants nothing to do with love. Being a hunter is all he worries about, until he met the beautiful Minka Verdin. When Minka's life is in danger Solomon will do everything in his power to protect her.
