Hmmmm...I’ve been putting off continuing with this series because I just wasn’t really enjoying it anymore :/ I have a huge problem with Hori-san and I feel Miyamura is far too good for her. I wish she wasn’t the lead female character because I much prefer Yuki and Kouno. I really want more Sengoku too but I feel that this series isn’t going to change...especially after Miyamura’s last declaration!

This volume was very repetitive and boring - there wasn’t an overarching arc or connection to the chapters and read like random vignettes. I’m sad because when I first started reading this series, I loved it but after nine volumes it’s the same old story constantly being churned out and not a lot is happening.

I’m finally giving up on this series.

I meant to stop reading this series last volume, but I forgot I put a hold on the upcoming volume at my library, creating a contractual obligation for me to read it. Having fulfilled that obligation, I stand by my original decision. This series is just too dull to keep reading.

There's just nothing too original here. All the shojo cliches are trotted out: unrequited love, declaration of love, Christmas, kotatsu naps. The side characters are not memorable, barely having one dimension. And the lead characters have been sapped of everything that made them interesting in the first few volumes. (Maybe that's a Samson effect from Miyamura cutting his hair?)

Ho-hum.

The kotatsu adventures begin! I also hope they dedicate more chapters about Yuki and Ishikawa. I want to witness what will happen in their relationship. I hope Yanagi will get another chance tho :( Ohhhhh. I wonder if those two will get married right after they graduate. Hmmm

HOLY SHIT.
I'M SO CONFLICTED RIGHT NOW.
So many things happened regarding their relationship?!?!?!?

The unrequited loves are resolved and the ones who are dating deepen their bonds.

A very satisfying volume overall,although I was let down by a predicable get together I don't really mind it.My children can do no wrong imao.

What really baffled me was how Hori get super suspicious when Miyamura hangs out with his male friends.What's wrong with her??

She misinterpreted everything.The prospect of her boyfriend ever liking other guys made her so insecure she went as far as to make Miyamura promise her that even if he ever cheat on her it would have to be strictly with women.Now that's just some fucked up bullshit .

You can't force someone like that.I do not support cheating,but forcing someone's sexuality is too much.Ofc Miyamura is problably straight but ugh I can't.This is such a homophobic behavior,it left sour taste in my mouth.

The ending chapter is another kyaaaaah!!

Anyway, I loved that Yuki-Sakura symbolism and metaphor so much! I still can't get over how flawless it is. And I find it funny that Hori is more jealous of Miyamura's guy friends rather than some girls. I mean, that's actually refreshing.

But what's more refreshing is how easily her anger about it melts away. Hori indeed isn't someone to hold grudge and I love that about her. And! How Shindou barked at Miyamura and I was like frozen for a moment, thinking shit, here it is. The spark of a fight. I forgot that they were Shindou and Miyamura for a moment!! And actually anticipated a freaking fight! But hell yea, I love the smooth recovery. Of course, it Shindo and Miyamura after all.

BUT CAN WE HAVE A DEFINITE TOORU/YUKI MOMENT I'M DYING TO HAVE ONE. I NEED THAT SHIP TO SAIL PROPERLYY. Hoping we get the extend of their christmas together too! Haha!

My children. I love them.

Definitely getting back in the groove of this series. This volume had everything I love— that sweet, slow burn romance, bittersweet relationship drama, Ishikawa being such a dork when he’s trying to be sweet and insightful, and Hori and Miyamura being loveable idiots in love. We even got some bonus character development for characters I didn’t even expect.

This volume was more uneven than I recall before. More like barely connected vignettes than a story, and it felt a bit aimless and seemed super short. I missed the character rundown some manga has in the front as I forgot who some of the supporting characters were. It barely seems like a romance anymore, but numerous bits here and there: school, tests, home, taking naps, funny gag, etc. I hope it improves/gets back to it's roots?

This series is starting to lose steam.

There's some cute moments like one of the girls coming to terms with liking someone and going for it instead of being so afraid to do anything with her feelings. I also enjoyed watching our main leads take a huge step, or least pronounce it. Let's see how far they go. But overall it feels a bit padded, a bit like nothing much is happening. I'll probably take a break before I finish the last 6 volumes.

Besides the first chapter that was a really ridiculous sequence involving becoming tangled under the kotatsu this volume had a lot of sweet moments. The ending was so cute but a little over dramatic. This volume put the heart of the series back into focus and I hope it continues.

What's Hori's problem with her father?
I feel she acts way too aggressive at times and it's so unnecessary towards him.
Also, talking about a porno premise when a kid is sleeping next to them under that table thingy (kotatsu).. unacceptable.
Why does it focus so much on other characters I really do not care.
Why is that girl so mean, knowing Sakura likes the Tooru..
Oh boy, not falling in love with a woman/girl but rather with a man/boy? Is Hori thinking straight?
Also how are the seasons changing so fast? Wasn't it fall a few chapters ago? Now Christmas? Yet I like the fact the rest of Hori's family is so happy to see Miyamura. Seems he's part of the family.

Honestly, I'm sick of them calling each other by family name considering how this volume ended. We need to see some actual deep progress, because it doesn't make sense for one of them to say after all this time, they still don't know "anything" about the other. The art, humour, side characters plot lines are all top notch, they just need to work more on the Horimyia couple.
