Give me a book written by Sidney Halston and I will read it no matter what. But give me Kiss Me Back and I will not only read it, I will love it. Fox and Lola immediately grabbed my attention in this story and I couldn't put this book down once I started.
They had a slower relationship but I really liked it for them and thought it worked with the character personalities. Fox had this vulnerable side to him which I personally love seeing in my Heroes and it made me enjoy his character a lot. He was actually the one that brought out all my emotions while reading this story and had me swooning all over the place.
Lola was a character that I admired a lot. Throughout the book we learn different things that she had to go through in her life and the fact that she didn't just give up was something I respected about her. She intrigued me a lot since there was so much I wanted to know about her and loved getting those little parts of her character as I read a long.
Overall, this was a sweet story, with some smexy moments of course, and characters that were both very easy to like. It's made me want to go back and read the previous books again but it could also be read as a standalone if you don't mind mentions of past characters. The whole series is a big recommendation though.

I really ended up liking Fox - At first glance and based on the other's observations of him, he seemed flashy, high maintenance and a bit shallow. With his fancy car, tailored suits and perfectly groomed beard, he fit the bill. But his appearance was his camouflage of choice. Underneath it all he was a really sweet, selfless and protective guy. The way he handles Lola, who lets be honest, could be a bit melodramatic, was priceless. He had moments that were OTT but in a good way :) I loved getting little snippets of his softer side. I love a strong Hero with a vulnerable side and Fox is a worthy example.
I felt for Lola, life had definitely not been hearts and roses for her but she was still such a spit fire. The challenges she had to take on, on a daily basis and somehow still managing to stay positive was admirable. She was definitely a fighter. That being said, she sometimes took her independence to the extreme and it blinded her to the fact that sometimes people genuinely wanted to help. Not because your weak and fragile, or because they're questioning your mental capacities. Sometimes people just want to help, your friends what to support you, lend a hand. She tended to jump the gun and make rapid fire decisions that hurt people. Her tendencies to put words in Fox's mouth made it a bit difficult for me to relate to her.
At times it felt like Fox did most of the giving and Lola did a lot of the taking and that felt like their relationship was a bit one-sided.

She's months from graduating and taking off to Ecuador for a once in a lifetime opportunity to teach disadvantaged kids. For two years, she's been living like a pauper, barely making ends meet and always staying 100% focused on her end goal. But she's not as immune to Fox's charm as she might have him believe.
When things start to really heat up, Lola decides she should be able to have her cake and eat it too. With only two months left before her semester abroad, Lola propositions Fox for two months of no strings sex. With an end date decided before their relationship even starts, Lola and Fox have to navigate a few hurdles when emotions get in the way.
Would I recommend?
Yes, this was a sweet romance with some heavy emotional topics but still uplifting and hopeful. I loved Fox :)

4 Imperfection Can Be Perfect Stars

There is no such thing as perfect... at least no human thing...And that is the big misconception we all seem to have...We think others are these perfect people with no issues or troubles... we see them from afar and feel we could never measure up or be "In Their League"...The joke is on All Of Us for we all have things that can be seen or felt as imperfections. Some more visible or recognizable, some more challenging then others. What we need to understand is all of us have them and it is how we handle these "Imperfections" is the key.
Sidney Halston has used this series to explore a number of human issues...and it has been how each character has handled their pain and insecurities which has made the reading worthwhile. In this latest entry to the Panic series, we have two people who work overtime trying to compensate for their "Imperfections".
Panic is one of the hottest clubs in Miami and Fox has worked his way up to being 2nd in charge of security. He stayed focused on presenting exactly what success looks like. He is the designer suit, driving the hot sports car and built like a combination of sports body and charming sexy face. He is the entire package. Everything he has, he has earned. His home, his car, his life.
But there are things which he still feels...the loss of his brother, pain of his childhood and the way he juggles his work. He is always aware of what he must do to accomplish everything he expects of himself. There is a price to pay for having it all... or seeming to...
Lola is very aware of the price she paid thinking she was loved. She already had hardship as a child, so it wasn't a stranger... but to have her boyfriend, the one she who she thought really cared to abandon her was the harshest lesson... one she was not going to repeat.
No, Lola had pulled herself up once again and was finally accomplishing her goal, the dream she had been working towards for years. Working two jobs was nothing. She had done it before and this way she was only months away from the finish line.
These two people collide literally on Lola's first day at Panic. She is the new bartender and walks smack into this wall of man. They both have this Moment...Eyes lock and neither moves...
Fox is stunned by how she is just looking at him...gazing at his mouth. Lola is caught with how Fox's eyes are such an icy blue and everything about him is perfectly in place. He sets her carefully on her feet...His hands on her feels like more.
Both of these go to do what was the task of the day...but thoughts of each other bounce in their heads...
Six months pass and Fox has tried every way possible to get Lola to go out with him. Fox isn't being creepy or pushy, just friendly. Fox also has an idea Lola is interested and fighting it...He has seen time and time again her sneaking looks at him... just like he does her.
Lola has been sneaking looks at Fox... he is someone she just cannot get out of her head. But he or anyone doesn't fit in her plan...she is going to be gone in a couple of months...
But... then again...
She is turned on by him and he is interested in her, so maybe she could have some fantastic sex before she is out of there...No strings, just sex.
When presented with that concept, Fox isn't sure he is hearing things right...Lola for him seems a bit shy and quiet...and here she comes out with this idea...She is showing the Empowered Tigress Within...
This is our set up and as things come to pass...both of these people have been hiding so much from the way they present to the public...Each carries their own burdens, compensating for them everyday. Each making them think they are imperfect in ways they think matter.
Lola surprisingly has carried poverty, hardship and another challenge with determination. She has learned who she is and manages to be comfortable in her own skin...she has learned how to let go of hate and it has freed her from much. She still is semiconscious about so many things we all take for granted... but at the same time shows incredible strength.
Fox was the one who actually was lost...without knowing it. He had pain and hate he needed to release and it was only after becoming close with Lola was he able to work through his demons.
This couple sparked and was so good together...They fit in so many ways it was like each was a puzzle piece and when they finally realized what was important... the pieces connected. Fox was this sweet, caring man...and through Lola he found himself.
Sidney Halston created this club with people who are partners and friends. In this entry we got a taste of the New Club Duality... and I have a feeling more will be coming with those who are part of it. It should be another fascinating series.

Kiss me Back is not as good as Nick and Katy's story. But Miss Halston givws us Fox. Now he is a fine sexy man. A perfect book boyfriend.
His past is sad and yet he still have a big heart full of love. Lola is also a fighter. She has back bone and not bend down on self pity. Her disability does not stop her for believing her dream.
Their romance is not easy. But they pull it through together and they get their HEA. I can not help smiling on that.

Lola and Fox start off rough, but boy do they finish strong. Her secret..wow, just wow. I never saw that one coming. Fox is just perfect and is willing to sacrifice so much for her. The couples from the previous books make lots of cameos in this book.
I was extra excited because there was lots of Iggy in this book. My fingers and toes are crossed that he's the hero in the next book.

Lola has been striving for the last seven years to make her dreams come true. In is just a few months’ time those plans will be coming to fruition. Working a second job at Panic is a step in helping to achieve her goals but getting involved with the very attractive bouncer is not.
Fox has worked hard to find the success he now has in his life. He has a great home, expensive car, and the best suits money can buy. For the last six months he’s been trying to get a date with Lola but she always politely declines. Then, on the worse day of the year for him, she accepts.
Each with their own unique problems this couple come together for a sex only relationship that has an expiration date. Fox is in a quandary as to how to open Lola’s eyes up to the possibility of more even as he holds tight to those things he thinks are important to him.
The way Fox and Lola worked together to overcome their individual issues was not only enduring but inspiring. I loved the way they used humor to smooth the way over some of their speed bumps. Fox was such a wonderful hero both sweet and sexy and dedicated to Lola. Lola’s background left her afraid of being rejected so her inclination was to do things on her own. When he offers her the greatest gift she could ever imagine I wanted to bawl my eyes out. His love for her was selfless and unending and it literally ripped my heart out of my chest to witness it.
I have truly enjoyed every book in this series but Kiss Me Back is by far my favorite thus far. I absolutely loved every single moment in this book!

After literally running into William Fox the day she was hired as a bartender at one of Miami’s hottest nightclubs, Lola has worked hard and avoided the cocky and delicious man even harder. But the more she resists the more determined Fox becomes, until a bit too much alcohol leads her to accept his offer to take her out. But while Lola wants a fling with an expiration date so as not to deter her dream to finish her master’s degree abroad, Fox knows the could be so much more. Can he convince her to give them a chance? Will he be able to let her go when the time comes or can they find another way?
Lola Daye is no ordinary heroine, she is resilient and intriguing. The secret she lived with and guarded was unexpected and the way Fox embraced it when he found out makes the reader see past his showy shell and into the tender, loving and caring heart of a man who was looking for happiness in the wrong places until he met Lola. And once he found her, the lengths he’s will to go to are absolutely swoon worthy.
The novel includes delightful moments with characters from the previous books and introduces a potential leading man for the series, in which case I can’t wait for the next installment.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series (Pull Me Close), but couldn't finish the second one. I decided to give Halston another try with Kiss Me Back.
Sadly, I just didn't fall in love with these characters or the writing. Something I have a hard time with in genre fiction is how generic or formulaic the plots and characters become. Girl who's "not like the other girls;" boy who's physically large and imposing, broody but with a secret sweet side; one (or both) characters with a tragic or difficult past. Sooner or later all of the romance stories I've read mesh together and I have a hard time distinguishing one from the other.
One thing I do enjoy about this novel and Halston's previous one, is the unique characteristic she gives one (or both) of her main characters. In Pull Me Close it was social anxiety and agoraphobia. Here it's . I like that she explores these types of characters and that she does it in a caring, realistic way.
While the writing and story did not pull me in, I can see others enjoying this third book in this standalone series.

One thing I do enjoy about this novel and Halston's previous one, is the unique characteristic she gives one (or both) of her main characters. In Pull Me Close it was social anxiety and agoraphobia. Here it's . I like that she explores these types of characters and that she does it in a caring, realistic way.
While the writing and story did not pull me in, I can see others enjoying this third book in this standalone series.

What an interesting story this was! It was light, fun, serious and the ending was so romantic. Sidney Halston wrote a surprising story with Kiss Me Back and I am so happy that I got the chance to read and review it.
Lola and Fox were fascinating but, it wasn't until you were really into the story that you found out why. No spoilers here, just saying that the story really caught my attention then. That's when Fox really became my hero. He was so accommodating, so strong and did what no one else ever did for her – understand and accept. But, he couldn't accept the end date of their romance. He tried to live with the fact that she had to reach for her dreams. He failed and had to let her go anyway. She was the one person he confided in, opened up to and … she's gone.
Lola was dealt a hard hand in life but she worked to get where she was, to make her dream come true. Working two jobs, saving everything that she could to finish her Master's Degree, only to have it stripped away. Then, on top of that, she realizes that she's truly in love with a man that is so different from what her first impression of him was. She can't let go of her dream and he has to understand that she's a strong woman and can make her own way in life. She'll miss him terribly but has to follow her path in life.
These two exemplified the meaning of love. They stood by each other in bad times. They sacrificed themselves for the other. In the end, nothing could keep them apart.
I was captivated by Kiss Me Back. Sidney Halston told an amazing story about love and loss and what two people would do to stand by each other. I was truly impressed with all the characters in the story and wish I had read the preceding books in this series. If their stories were was interesting as this, I missed out.

And while all along Fox was trying to prove smth to himself, trying to find himself beyond all the wrongs in his upbringing leaving him feeling unworthy...until HER
And then, Fox merely opened up to what he always had in him...being a good man worthy of love and loving...
Ah, what to say...this book was lovely, sweet and heart warmingly beautiful and yet i felt like smth missing...and I cant pin point what exactly...*insert a huge question mark above her head*
Nevertheless, I truly enjoyed all three books in Panic series

I was so excited to dive back into the world of steamy Miami nights in the Panic nightclub, and Sidney Halston has once again delivered a sweet, sexy, beautifully romantic story that is surprising, intense and absolutely captivating. It’s a short read, but it packs an emotional and profound punch, and I loved it!
We have met William Fox in previous books of the series. He is the solid, dependable, well-dressed and slightly badass bouncer of the club. He is dedicated to his job, and he does it well, which is why he is asked to step up and manage security at Nick and Matt’s newest venture – Duality - a darker, dirtier, high-class club. It’s just what he has been working for, and after a brutal upbringing, it’s just the validation he needs to prove his worth.
Lola is a waitress at Panic. She’s quiet and shy, and keeps to herself, but of course she has noticed Fox. And he has noticed her right back, regularly asking her out and repeatedly getting shot down. Lola is on a timeline, she has a goal that she is working towards and she is leaving town in just a few months to follow her dreams. She has Fox pegged as a heartbreaker, and wants no part of that, so she has kept her distance. But his persistence pays off when she realizes that her timeline will allow her to keep things defined with him, and she decides to stop running and open herself up to what her body has been craving – while strictly keeping emotion out of it.
Oh holy hotness, the chemistry between Fox and Lola is sizzling! The dynamic between them is great, and the sexy time is seriously hot, but it’s their emotional connection that makes them something special. Agreeing to be friends with benefits, while exploring their sizzling attraction they hang out, they open up to each other, and as they let the other in on their deepest, darkest secrets, they become closer than either of them ever expected.
The lines very quickly become blurry for them as they battle to keep their emotions in check, and as the time draws closer for Lola to leave, both their relationship, and Fox and Lola individually, will be put to the test as they are forced to figure out what it is their heart truly wants, and then find the courage to reach for it.
I really loved this book. The relationship is easy, sexy and beautifully heartfelt. I loved the twists in the story as their backgrounds are explored and secrets are uncovered, bringing a wonderful dynamic to their relationship, and to the story. And, of course, I love how despite their intentions, they effortlessly fell wildly and deeply for each other.
This book also contains some wonderful messages as we see all that Fox and Lola have been through, and the journey they take together to move on from the past and find the future that they want is beautifully written. I loved watching it all unfold for them.
Though this book can be read as a standalone, I loved seeing the characters from previous books, and I’m excited that there is a hint there of another book to come. I can’t wait for more from this series.

Kiss me Back is the 3rd book in the Panic series and I have read them all.
I was thrilled to receive this ARC as I really enjoy this author's storytelling, her first book "Pull Me Close" is a personal favorite.
This was a little more of a departure from the others in this series but definitely in a good way.
William Fox is security at the nightclub Panic, he is always concerned about looking his best and presenting a good impression, he dresses well wearing expensive suits.
When he meets Lola, a newly hired bartender he is immediately smitten but even though he clearly shows interest, she continues to push him away.
Lola shows up for work, keeps her head down and does her job well but doesn't seem to form any close relationships with any of her co-workers.
William is not deterred though and doesn't give up. His persistence pays off and when he is the only one to discover her well hidden secret he doesn't run, but in fact becomes more involved and also protective of her.
I love the sacrifices William was willing to make for Lola and how well they fit together as a couple and enhanced each other's lives.
Sweet love story that demonstrates what's important in life..

I am really enjoying this series. This specific book has been my favorite so far! I loved Lola and Fox. Their relationship was sexy, romantic and emotional. I want a guy to throw paper airplanes with sweet messages to me!!😣😣
Anyways I hope you guys pick up this series. Each one follows different characters so each book could be read as standalone.

When she's comfortable enough Lola doesn't mind asking her man for favors, and honestly I don't think Fox cares as long as he always gets a good view out of it, “Fox, if I have *** with you every single day from now until I leave for Ecuador, can I use your washing machine once a week? Can we make it a package deal? I need to renegotiate our terms.” She’s standing in just her underwear and a bra pouring detergent into my washing machine, and looking at it longingly..." A man knows when to take a hint, “I’ve never done it in the shower before,” she says coyly. I have never stripped so fast." I loved this book, I loved Fox the man had a sweet side.

The Fox and the Tiger!
This series started with Pull Me Close and that book will always hold a special place in my heart. But, of course, I was excited to start this one as we were about to get William Fox's story. The big, tatted, bouncer/security expert for the nightclub, Panic. But he was adamant about looking impeccable, always dressed to the T, and looking impressive. I loved that Nick and Matt were confident in Will's abilities and eventually promoted him to security manager for their new club, Duality.
We are also introduced to Lola, the newly hired bartender, and you know right away there is something different about her. I loved Will's persistence with her, but she continued to push him and others away....simply wanting to get her job done, save the money she needed to travel after graduating to help children in need, and keeping her head down and out of trouble. But Will did not give up and the things he did to support her made my heart smile.
I loved the connection between Will and Lola! And the ending, yes, perfect!
And now, do we get Iggy's story? That crazy man with a prosthetic leg who strays far away from commitment or relationships? I would like it please Ms. Halston!

I have been excited to read this book since we were first introduced to Lola and Fox. Each book in the series shows the depth and power of love and how it has the strength to heal even the deepest scars.
Lola’s life has been stunted in many ways. She has closed herself off to people and is focused on her mission to finish her degree and help the children in Ecuador. Working at Panic night club and saving hard for her dream is all Lola has time for but Fox is slowly wearing her down. She only has a short time left so she decides to give into Fox’s chase of her.
Fox is such a delightful surprise. I thought he was only a cute shell but there is so much more to the man. He is kind and hardworking. He has been through pain in his life. There is vulnerability there with him that makes him more endearing. I love how he handles Lola and her disabilities. He is supportive to her and her goals. When he gives all he has to her so she can still pursue her dreams, I was a goner!
I am happy with how things turned out. I did imagine it differently but everything worked out just as it should. This story is more romantic and sweet than the previous books in this story. The connection between Lola and Fox is more emotional and deep. Lola’s disability shocked me because there had been no indication whatsoever. It was handled very carefully.
This series is amazingly hot and addictive. Ms. Halston teased us with a new character and I want definitely want more.

Oh Fox, Fox, Fox....
This story was AWESOME!!! I love all of the books in this series, but this is my new favorite. This is book 3 in the series and they can probably be read as a standalone, but you should read them all and in order since you 'see' the previous characters from the other books.

William Fox caught my eye in the first two books of the Panic series. He seemed like an interesting character to pick apart and I was thrilled to get my happy hands on his story!
Fox is this big guy who always looks impeccable-not a hair out of place, neatly trimmed beard, and a GQ kind of look that catches the eyes. He’s also got the sexy swagger and the cool, calm demeanor to go with it until he gets around Lola. He finally meets a chick who doesn’t try to get in his pants or use his position for favors, and she refuses a date. He actually has to work at getting her to agree to a date, much to the amusement of everybody (myself included). But the guy had more depth than his pretty looks revealed. Fox’s buried issues with his dad and his concept of self worth explained a lot of things, but it was seeing his character grow over the course of the book that made for a satisfying read.
As for Lola..so she never totally won me over. I spent too much time wanting to pull my hair in frustration, but she grew up enough to where I tolerated her. She was independent, quiet, shy..kind of a loner really, yet I felt like she lived in a bubble. It was her against everyone else and she had the chip on her shoulder to prove it. The cause of Lola’s hearing disability was understandable, but the reasons for not telling anybody were immature, IMO. Fox figures things out of course. And whatever charisma and mojo he was working made Lola happiest when was she was with him, which in turn made him happy and so on and so forth..and The Lion King’s Circle of Life just started playing on the radio as I write this...
The Panic series has some unique characterization and unusual romances, but somehow it works and makes for some pretty good reading. What made me give this four stars over three, was the depth of feelings Fox had for Lola. When I found Lola frustrating, Fox’s view of her was influencing my view, if that makes any sense. He found something worthwhile in Lola and managed to convince me why she was his One person. The give and take wasn’t always equal, but neither is life. Sometime you give more and other times you give less, but the end result is still a compromise. While Lola and Fox’s journey was one heck of a rocky road..and sometimes it was an exercise in frustration as a reader wanting to knock sense into certain someone’s..that just made the ending all the sweeter!

First of all, it just about kills me to give this book anything less than 5 stars. I actually loved the story. However, I can't give it more than 3 stars because the entire premise of the book is so flawed.
Second, there are two glaring errors toward the end of the book that would not have happened.
So now there will be **spoilers** in this review, so please be aware.
**SPOILERS**
Lola is profoundly deaf. She is able to go through life hiding this fact from everyone she meets. This makes me wonder how many deaf people the author has ever been around, and if she knows any, they must be pretty darn clever. It's impossible to hide deafness for more than a few moments in the presence of anyone. I couldn't stop myself from wondering, how did Lola get through a job interview and hide it from her bosses? How did she rent an apartment and hide it from her landlord? How did she keep her job in a bar by ignoring people by wearing headphones while she was serving drinks? None of this could have lasted longer than a minute. Sorry. I just can't believe it, and it takes away from the wonderful story. She could have maintained her independence and still let people around her know.
And then the two people who are closest to her, her boyfriend and her best friend/employer at the animal clinic both CALL her on the phone and are worried when she doesn't answer? Answer what??! She can't talk on the phone! She only texts. And the one time she leaves a voicemail she has no idea whether she did it right or not. So unless her phone was equipped with some talk to text app that the author invented on the spot, she messed up. It would have even made more sense if the people had Skyped her so she could read their lips. But.... they didn't. I understand people who are desperate can resort to ridiculous behavior, and I guess that's what we are supposed to believe here, but it just jumped off the page and smacked me in the face with a big, fat Huh??!
The ending doesn't make sense. Fox's father was such a mean old coot, he never would have paid for a life insurance policy month in and month out for a son he obviously disliked.

A security guard falls hard for a bartender in a popular nightclub but secrets on both sides could stop the relationship before it even starts. Kiss Me Back is the 3rd in a contemporary romance series that started out strong but weakened considerably as the story unfolded. Very melodramatic and unrealistic in some areas, I found myself struggling to connect to the characters-especially the heroine. The hero grew on me as his secrets revealed. Very insecure due to his childhood, his flashy trappings and boldness stem are nothing more than a protective mechanism. He loves hard and it showed. *swoon* The heroine, on the other hand, was a bit of a diva whose need for independence had her struggling for no reason. Sometimes a helping hand is just that…a helping hand. Kiss Me Back is the 3rd in a contemporary romance series that started out strong but weakened considerably as the story unfolded. Very melodramatic and unrealistic in some areas, I found myself struggling to connect to the characters-especially the heroine. The hero grew on me as his secrets revealed. Very insecure due to his childhood, his flashy trappings and boldness stem are nothing more than a protective mechanism. He loves hard and it showed. *swoon* The heroine, on the other hand, was a bit of a diva whose need for independence had her struggling for no reason. Sometimes a helping hand is just that…a helping hand. Panic has a new bartender and the full of himself security man/bouncer/entry door man has his eye on this shy little thing. Lola keeps to herself and being shy is just Lola. Earbuds in, busy working doing her job, she's managed to blow Fox off for 6 months. He asks her out, she turns him down every. single. time. Fox is pretty full of himself, he's got his share of baggage from the past and he works hard to keep that under wraps. Outward appearances are deceiving. The guys are opening a new club and Fox is tasked with being the head of security for the new club. He also notices Lola will be making the move too.
Lola works two jobs, she's saving money for the tuition to finish her internship for her masters program. That internship is in Ecuador. She's a short timer, no one knows that, she lives in a dangerous neighborhood, in a tiny apartment and saves every penny she makes. She's comfortable with her plan.
Lola has something she's hiding and she hides it so very well. Then there's the day that Fox figures out what she's hiding. Then one day she agrees to have a meal with Fox. There's an attraction there, Lola knows it's short term and makes it clear to Fox that whatever happens between them ends when she leaves and she is leaving. As things transition between them, who is on the losing end of this agreement as they called it?
I found myself liking Lola a lot. She's been through some really rough stuff and to be finishing her masters and going after what she wants. Nice strong female lead. Fox was a pain in the rear, I know he had something to prove to himself but there were times were he butted in to Lola's life as you'll see when you read the book I wanted to smack him and say "back the hell off" The girl has been there and done that. Literally. Fox wanted it all. He dang near had it too. But he put her on a plane and let her go off to Ecuador. Hiding his feeling. Oh poor Fox.
I liked this book. Not as much as book two but it's still a great read and great in the series.
Sidney sure writes a great story. Read this one. It's a keeper.

William Fox is a bouncer at Panic, a luxury, exclusive night club. He is a tattooed, muscled, slightly arrogant, big flirt, a little cocky and cares far too much what others think of him. He has a silver fox appearance even though he’s only 33. He had a pretty crappy childhood with an abusive dad who told him he’d never amount to anything. Therefore, he was determined to make something of himself.
Lola Daye is a bartender at Panic. She’s 24, subdued, focused, determined, intelligent, independent and a little sassy. She is saving to finish her Master’s degree in Ecuador. Her last serious relationship has left her determined to make it on her own and not depend on anyone else. However, at times, she lets her take charge attitude get the best of her.
I wasn’t too crazy about Fox at first but he definitely redeems himself as the story progresses. He uses his appearance and arrogance to mask the nice, caring, protective, slightly insecure, guy underneath. Despite Lola’s repeated attempts to push him away and keep him at arm’s length, he persistently pursues her.
Both have issues they’ve had to overcome to get to where they currently are. Although Lola’s obstinance got old at times, her courage and character were admirable. Are there some unrealistic parts? Absolutely. Nonetheless, this is an easy, fairly sweet read.
This is the third book in the series but my first. I easily read it as a standalone.

The story of Fox and Lola has cemented it's spot on my top 10 list for HEA. I have re-read it three times in the last week. I cannot get enough! I cannot wait to see where this story line goes next.

When Fox, the bouncer at Panic, meets the new bartender, Lola, he's instantly attracted to her. The feeling is mutual, but Lola spends the next few months avoiding him, and by then he's had it with her avoiding him. So his new mission is to scale her walls and get her to just go on a date with him. He's nothing if not determined, so it should be easy, right? Wrong. Because Lola has walls stronger than Fort Knox, and a huge secret that she's hiding from just about everyone.
When Lola finally admits to herself that she can't avoid Fox any longer, she has no idea what she's in for, because he's persistent, and determined to be in her life, one way or another. How will he react when he finds out her secret? Will he leave her like her ex? Or will he prove to be the man with a huge heart that he's starting to appear as?
Wow, I have to admit that Lola's secret was one I was not expecting. And I like how Fox, and the author, handled the subject. Not too over-dramatized, with a little sensitivity, but not too much. As much as I appreciated her secret, what I really loved most about Kiss Me Back is Fox, he's by far the best part this story. He's nothing like he first came across as. He's a total sweetheart with vulnerabilities that modern romance authors do not often give their confident alpha heroes these days. And he's perfect for Lola. They're perfect for each other in fact, just like they said.

This is book three in the series - I would definitely recommend that you read the previous two as they are excellent reads, but you could definitely enjoy this as a stand alone too.
I really think this is a fabulous story, with strong characters, a brilliant twist and a very, very desirable outcome. It manages to balance the situation between Lola and Fox, even when their positions are so significantly different. As more and more common ground is established, and the connection grows, it is difficult to see how they will be together, but also that it is inevitable that they must.
I love that we spend time in the nightclub(s) and get to see the guys all happy and sappy with their loves. It validates what we read in previous books, and reminds us of how unlikely those romances were too - and yet, it is Iggy, the ultimate player who makes the bold statement that changes everything.
Really, my best advice is that you pick it up and read it. It has many layers, lots of interest and some great moments of relationship building that heal. It is also full of the reality of life, and words said but regretted, of getting back on even ground, and of forging forward rather than letting things drag you too far down.
