As Grandma prepares for Easter above ground, the rabbit children in their home below ground are convinced that their father is the Easter Bunny! The two worlds meet happily on the Easter holiday.
The illustrations were really cute. I couldn't figure out how to read it aloud, though. Top half first all the way across the page? Or top and bottom of each page? The story felt a bit disjointed. It would have been helpful if I'd read it myself before trying to read it to my daughter. Then I could have figured out how to read it properly... Whoops! Still very cute.
Told both above and below ground, this is a classic Easter story. The grandchildren can't wait for Easter and neither can the rabbit children who live underground and think their father is the Easter rabbit. Even though it has nothing to do with the story, I have always enjoyed the infinity cover on this one too.
This book was recommended by a close friend to help prepare me for a children's portrait shoot tomorrow. I found it an easy read and it awakened memories of my childhood with chickens and rabbits and mice.
Wonderful pictures with a story above and a story below ground. Discovered while a retired teacher was doing donations for the Osborne Collection of Early Children's Literature (Lillian H. Smith Branch of the Toronto Public Library).
I've enjoyed this dear book for a long time. It has two stories going on at the same time--one in Granny's kitchen, then shifting underground where another exciting adventure hatches. I just gave two for birthday gifts, one to my own granddaughter. Just delightful.
It's cute with two stories going on at the same time, and I like the illustrations and details to look for. A little weird though about the eggs hatching and the colored shells in the burrow--wouldn't that hurt their paws? I'd read it with one child and look at all the details together.
This is a nice book for chidren to read about the Easter bunny. It is funny how things get a little mixed up and how father rabbit gets so upset! I liked how it showed granie above the ground and the rabbits underground, very creative.
