I'm a UK based author who loves to read and write all things romance. As Skye Jones I write steamy paranormal romance that ranges from light and fun to dark and gritty.
As S.R. Jones I write darker contemporary romance and romantic suspense.
I live in Yorkshire, and get lots of inspiration from the windswept moors, the old stone buildings and the Celtic myths of this fair isle.
My dogs are my favourite people, and I'm quite fond of my husband too. I love chocolate and starbucks mochas and keep meaning to give them up for a life as a svelte fashion plate - it never happens!
Jake and Cait are the main characters of another book by Skye Jones, but this short Christmas story has sufficient elements and background description to be understandable also for those, like me, who haven't read their full story. It focuses on the typical tendency of women - I am one of them - to question their man's love and affection due to low self-esteem and outside and social pressure. The author faced this issue in a very delicate way without magic solutions except trust and communication.
A Trip Of A Lifetime: By Korkoi - Brooke was curvy and beautiful, but still had confidence issues even though her husband continuously complimented her. It takes a trip of sun, sea and sizzling sex, to get her to accept what everyone has been saying to her. As awesome story about accepting the hand of fate.
Plot: Cait and Jake are already a couple and are on their way to a Hawaiian holiday with another couple. Cait is bothered by something, though, and Jake doesn't know what it is. Don't worry - he finds out by the end of the book.
Character development: I get the feeling this is an evolving matter. The heroine has a lot if insecurities, and the hero continues to work on resolving those. In a book this short, that did not become annoying.
Part of a series: yes
Grammar/formatting: no major issues
Would I read more from this author/in this series: yes
This is a story about communication and self-confidence and trusting your mate. Low heat, high sweetness factor.
