The Holy Spirit Is Not A Bird

Rate this book
What if I told you that the life of your dreams isn’t out of reach? What if you could have a personal relationship with someone who knew all the intimate details of your present and future? You may already know the answer to this mystery and not even realize that you do. Today’s culture has formulated some crazy ideology surrounding the Holy Spirit and, sadly, has turned many people off to the idea that a relationship with Him is a valuable and obtainable reality. In this book we are going to debunk the quirky, false claims that we have been led to believe about the nature of the Holy Spirit. We will take real steps toward the understanding of His true nature, as well as what our lives can look like as we welcome His involvement in our daily lives. I truly believe that by the end of this book and, more importantly, this small but significant encounter with the Holy Spirit, you will be standing at the doorstep of a life you once believed was only to be lived in your dreams.

Nothing Like a Bird - Refreshing

I got the pleasure of meeting Ty this weekend. What a character and a genuine artifact. He is a sold out vessel being used by God and was a gifted guide and helping me give more of myself to the Spirit so I can be free to be myself and equally effective in the Spirit.

This book and the other 2 are a must read. Ty puts it in a way that is so plain and easy to use. Buy it today!!!!

Thank you for this!

I'm so grateful for a book that is so down to earth regarding spiritual gifts. I'm preaching on the topic and this will be a great resource. It was an easy read and kept me engaged by mixing stories with the teaching. I appreciated the action steps at the end of each chapter and look forward to going through this book again when I can spend more time on it.

Such a wonderful explanation of who the Holy Spirit is. The book has the same easy, conversational feel as when you hear Ty share in a session. I very much appreciate what he shares and how he shares it.

Great book that breaks several of the conventions around Holy Spirit to remind us that He is a person to be known and not a theological concept to be studied alone. Great theology of empowerment/functioning in spiritual gifts that challenges our cultural understanding

Okay the content is fine but the writing is really subpar. It felt at times like I was reading something written by a high schooler.

This is a very interesting book in the ways that it expands on what little we know about the Holy Spirit through Scripture. He is definitely not a bird and Buckingham is great at writing about personal relationships with Him.

That being said, this book should be read as a group to allow for discussion. It has lots of opportunities for questions at the end of each chapter and space for prayer.

If anything, I would recommend reading this with a friend and praying for each other as you read!

I loved this book in that the content is solid. It’s easy to read and beautifully simplifies a lot.
Honestly, the only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is because the editing was horrible. There are some huge and basic grammar mistakes throughout which would catch me and distract me. This was a bit disappointing and made the book less professional.
