Shadow's Dream "These are the Gods who have passed out of memory. Even their names have been forgotten. Gods die and when they die, they are unmourned and unremembered. Ideas are more difficult to kill than people, but they can be killed in the end."

The graphic novel adaptation of American Gods. Shadows 3/9: Love the writing and exposition by Gaiman but the art is a little flat and lets down the storytelling. After a strange dream they head to Chicago, to meet the first of many important people Wednesday intends to recruit to his cause. Interesting characters, I'm eagerly waiting to find out more about these Russians.

This is good, & maybe it's gonna be real good, i don't know for sure since i haven't read the novel but I'm starting to think this might be one I'd rather read as a trade & save some money. It's interesting, but definitely a lot going on that I have no idea where it's gonna go & stories that are like that I prefer to binge read as opposed to reading an issue at a time monthly.

Not too much activity in this issue. Lots of backstory, exposition and seed-planting. This issue felt like a stepping stone for bigger things to come...

Yeah, so I actually forgot I had read this last week until over half way through. Here's hoping the next issue is a bit more memorable.

Meh. So far I feel like the book and the show both told this story better.

But it isn't bad.

Still really enjoying this series. Of course, when you usually wait to read the collected graphic novel, reading the issues as they come out is painfully slow.

Enjoyed this one a lot. I felt like this is the first one where we really get drawn into the world that he is building. It's here where I started to feel the magic I know is part of this story.
