Trips to Canada’s wilderness for joint military training are something Easton always enjoys. But meeting the photographer contracted to take pictures of the base and trainees for new marketing materials adds a whole new twist to the trip.

A twist Easton quickly realizes has a dark undertone.

Summer knows she gets lost in her art to the point she’s been called ditzy, forgetful and many other less pleasant names. But her passionate nature has an outlet, and she loves traveling for her work. It also means she doesn’t always take care of herself as she should.

When she’s stalked, then attacked, Easton soon realizes Summer has stepped into something dangerous and needs his help to stay alive.

Especially when the violence escalates…and he comes close to losing the one woman he can’t seem to stay away from.

While this is part of the SEALs of Honor series, it can definitely be read on its own. In fact, I think this book really only referred to the other SEALs in their unit that had already found love in the very beginning. In this book, Easton is lamenting that he is not cut out for love when he is literally struck in the face by Summer. While it was an accident, Easton should have realized from that moment he and Summer were destined for love.
This was an enjoyable entry to the series as the romance between Easton and Summer slowly developed while the entire unit try to keep Summer safe from danger.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Easton, a SEAL, is in Canada with others of his team for a joint training exercise with their Canadian counterparts, as well as to see a new water purification method.

Summer, an independent photographer, has been contracted to preserve certain aspects of the training, which will then be used in pamphlets, etc. all over.

Easton and Summer accidentally cross paths upon arrival, and then continue to do so after they've reached their mutual, unbeknownst to them, destination. It doesn't take long before Summer has become part of Easton's group. Though she's used to, and has grown comfortable with, being by herself due to her job, she's thankful for the company, especially Easton's. She can't stop her artist's eye from visualizing his beauty and wanting to capture it, though he refuses. As for Easton, Summer obviously loses herself while working, so he's taken on the role of watching over her, though his friends and teammates believe he's well on his way to joining the Keepers.

As Easton and Summer begin spending more time together, a connection slowly begins to build between them. Though Easton had eventually pictured himself settling down, and its something he truly wants to do, the personality type he imagined is the opposite of Summer, yet she's now the only woman he can visualize standing beside him. Easton's instinctual protectiveness of Summer morphs into more as it's apparent Summer is in danger. Someone isn't happy with Summer's work as her natural eye for art captures things she shouldn't. Though it's with the innocent of intentions, those preserved on film can't say the same.

When Summer is the victimom of numerous attacks, Easton appoints himself her bodyguard, determined to keep her safe and find out who's after her and why. At the same time, his attraction to Summer continually grows, and it's obviously mutual.

Can Easton, and his teammates, keep Summer safe? Who's after Summer? What did she see that she shouldn't have? What happens when their time in Canada is over? Is Summer out of danger once she's out of range? Or will it follow her home, the same place Easton calls home? Will Easton and Summer choose to explore the connection between them? Is there a HEA in their future? Will they realize they've found the one they were meant to be with?

One-click now and follow along as two people discover a love worth fighting for while they both fight for survival.

Poor Easton, he was hooked almost on the first page and didn't even realize it, but the rest of his team did. Nothing like an absent-minded photographer to cause all the protective instincts of a SEAL to kick in.

Summer is the photographer for this international military training event featuring a new water purification system. Her goal is to capture photographs to be featured in brochures. Like many artists she tends to get lost in her work, but for her it can also cause blood sugar problems. Add that to her leaving her bag everywhere as she focuses through the lens and you have a recipe for disaster.

The really fun part of all this is the banter between Summer and Easton with the added hilarity of Ryder, Devlin and Corey.

Unfortunately, some weird stuff starts happening with Summer, first she hears someone in her tent, which causes Easton and the guys to stay in her tent. Then things escalate, the problem is they don't know why anyone would target her.

Lots of fun and suspense in this page turning read. I'm very glad I have the three book collections so I can just move on to the next three books!

This was a first of not finishing one of her book, having read hers and enjoying for years.
Did not care for Summer it got old, her being a professional yet irresponsible and forgetting her bag and not eating. Did not finish.

An interesting, suspenseful, often humorous, and sometimes improbable storyline…

This is the thirteenth book in the SEALs of Honor series that can be read as a stand-alone.

In Canada with some of his teammates for joint military training exercises Navy SEAL Easton Gallagher literally runs into a woman who unknowingly tries to take him out with a camera and soon brings out his protectiveness and tries the patience he’s always been known for. This woman can’t seem to get along on her own for the simplest of things and so the SEAL’s take her under their care which is a stroke of luck for her as strange happenings point to someone on the base out to harm her.

Freelance photography appeals to the inner artist within Summer Jones. She’s been contracted to take pictures for brochures and governmental promotions, something she’s done before and enjoys but as soon as she arrives something doesn’t feel right. Being befriended by a group of protective SEAL’s gave her a measure of comfort, especially the one who tended to try to boss her around.

When Summer’s in her element she comes across as ditzy, absent-minded; distracted by the pull of the camera to the exclusion of all else including her well-being. She appears to be someone who needs to be cared for but she’s an extreme contradiction, trained in martial arts she can protect herself if she has to which leads to her personal conundrum, she’d rather not be the reason someone gets hurt even if they deserved it. This woman had a strange outlook on things which landed her in dangerous, outrageous, situations that the hero didn’t know what to do about except protect her as best he could and all while he marveled at the incredulity that she is, that he likes it and her more and more. She was not what he wanted or was looking for yet he found he couldn't stay away.

This book had an interesting, suspenseful, often humorous and sometimes improbable storyline with a whacky heroine who had me shaking my head often and a highly protective hero who had the patience of a saint. They made a cute pair. He used to bring home animals when he was young, this one is human and sexy. Summer seemed to change from the beginning of the book to the end and this reader is not sure it was intentional, she didn’t seem true to the person we first met, and perhaps this reader just didn’t like her taking away the initiative from the alpha hero so it’s probably just reader preference.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

Every single one of these books finds the perfect match for SEALS of honor men and this one is no exception. Easton literally runs into his by the name of Summer, a woman who is the opposite of what he thought the perfect woman was for him. She's a bit quirky, gets lost in her own when doing her photography, speaks her mind, gives as good as she gets, and goes after what she wants. Their first meeting is hilarious and the next one ends up her stealing his buns but also has Easton start looking after her when he notices her not looking so great due to her blood sugar dipping. She joins Easton and the 3 other SEALS for the meal and soon the other 3 are teasing him about Summer and he denies it all. But when it seems her life is being threatened he is the first to be there for her, by her side and looking after her. When the threat is still out there after a few misses on her life, she goes home and of course he follows. There they finally get to be alone and are able to explore their attraction more. Will he keep her or will she end up keeping him?
I personally love these books by Dale Mayer about the SEAL men and the women they want to "keep" and the author doesn't disappoint. Easton & Summer's story has humour, suspense, some action, lust/love, a hot alpha SEAL man who tries to ignore his feelings and his friends when they see and call out what is happening and a woman who is kind and generous, knows how to kick a**, sticks up for herself and draws Easton out of his shell and comfort, making a steamy shower scene happen. Not only that but there is no unnecessary drama with exes or people trying to keep them apart, no misunderstandings blown out of proportion, Easton wasn't a male wh**, no cheating, the story flowed perfectly, and I couldn't put the book down till I was done.
Now I can't wait for the next one and read Ryder's story after the little teaser at the end.

I've read a few of these and when I first started reading I was thinking, have a read this one? I was a little disappointed as even though I fully expect and enjoy the formulaic style of romance but sometimes it gets too much. The good news is that feeling didn't last. I think this was my favourite out of all of them. Mainly because I liked the main character. She was like me in so many ways. Has to eat all the time, did karate as a kid and hated hurting people. I even liked the love interest with his grumpy stoic nature.

The other things I liked was the fast pace and of course the perfect HEA that is always expected an enjoyed. A little bit of a twist here and there which were surprising even if they weren't shocking. The main character kicks butt and saves herself more than once. The author is very aware of consent and what is acceptable from an alpha male. Our alpha male isn't a jerk which is a difficult balance to achieve with alpha males.

Now onto the things that didn't work. Before I get into this I want to say none of these were annoying enough to drop it off the best so far list. The first thing that annoyed me was the screaming. There was a scene where a heavy breather sends our hero running out of her tent screaming. Sorry, women don't do that. Not because we don't scream. We do that. No, it is because of a heavy breather. We face that kind of predator often. You only scream when you are surprised. You know, like a spider falling on you. Women, when faced with a male predator will get out fast and often silently. If we had to run screaming every time we have someone following us, cat calling or any other creepy thing then we would be screaming all the time. So the screaming bugged me. A lot. The only other thing was the rushed ending. I kind of wanted to see them in more of their normal life rather than only ever seeing them in a highly charged situations.

Easton Gallagher meets Summer Jones in a most interesting way. She’s not trying to but she’ll get you laughing. Some may say she’s an airhead but I would say her brain just works overtime. You could also say that she really loves her job.

I got to chapter three and knew that I need to check out more of this series. Our author had a way that grabbed me as soon as our main characters met. She gives me just enough to get me to laugh. She hooks me first with the laughter but then slides the suspense in. Don’t know which I liked more the humor or the mystery but it’s a combination that works very well here. And our main characters aren’t jumping each other’s bones right out of the gate – it’s all about building the story.

What’s good about this book is that I don’t have to read the twelve books that came before in order to enjoy this one. It’s a book that can stand on its own but it’s also a good incentive to check out the other SEALs that I’ve already missed. Now I won’t get them all read before book fourteen comes out in October but that’s ok I’m sure that I’ll get them all read at some point. And book sets are a great way to go too.

One thing with Summer was that she never really freaked out with everything going on around her. This just shows the faith that she has in the people around her. But she has a few surprises up her sleeve that adds to our enjoyment of this story. I loved her protectiveness toward men that she hadn’t known very long. It was great to see that the easy banter between Easton and Summer carry all the way to the end. And the ending is a look into what’s to come.

. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

SEALs of Honor- Easton

Once again this is another amazing action packed, and at times funny romantic story in the SEALs of Honor series with Easton losing his heart to a very quirky photographer, Summer. She was hired to take photographs for the joint training exercise camp between Canada and the United States being held in Canada. They were teaching the Americans Canada's newest technique for converting any kind of water to useable drinking water. Meanwhile Summer ran right into Easton and even cut his face with her camera. From that point on he was drawn to her and then people were trying to kill her and his SEAL unit were with him protecting her. He was following her around keeping track of her equipment and making sure she was eating before she passed out from her low sugar problem because he could not stop helping her. His teammates teased him that he was now a member of the Keepers whether he wanted to be or not. She wanted him and he was powerless against her many lovable wiles. The fact that she was not helpless and took down a man that was trying to attack her not once but twice sealed the deal with him. How the SEAL units worked together to figure out who was out to kill her and why was exciting when the mystery was finally solved when they all got back to the States. Summer and Easton's love story is also humorous and very entertaining for all his teammates as well very romantic. It is fantastic how all these SEALs teammates are finding strong capable women to love. I highly recommend this series and cannot wait to read the next story in this series

Easton (SEALS of Honor, Book 13)

Yet another fantastic book in this series by the award winning author, Dale Mayer.

Easton Gallagher and his unit, Devlin, Ryder and Cory are sent on a training mission in Canada, a joint SERE training but the real reason was the water survival. While there, they'd be doing additional training on the new drinking water converters.

Summer Jones is a freelance photographer assigned to photograph the events for recruitment advertising. She is also a scatter brain, continually losing track of time as she follows light and shadows with her camera.

Summer quickly becomes the target of torment but quickly turns into assassination attempts. Easton and his unit become her protectors when it becomes obvious someone is trying to kill Summer. But for what reason?

This book was absolutely fascinating in that it kept me on the edge from beginning to end and kept its secret to the end. I can usually guess who done it by the middle of the book but not this time.

I loved the mystery and action in this book. It was also filled with theft or attempted theft, attempted kidnapping of Summer, at which time she proves she is more than capable of taking care of herself.

I highly recommend this book as well as any others by this author.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book and gave it a 5 star rating since I felt it was so well written.

Sometimes in a series the books all seem the same; different names but the same type of action scenes. Dale Mayer has a way of making these books stand out even in the series of same type of books.

Easton never knew what hit him until he found himself in a situation he wasn't sure he wanted to get out of. Easton and three of his team mates were sent to Canada for a joint military training camp. The new clean water processor that the Canadians had developed sounded good and it was going to be demonstrated during the training. But upon arrival, Easton is hit in the face by a camera toting photographer.

Summer loves her job, taking pictures and showing her work in galleries, but unfortunately right now it didn't pay enough to pay the bills. So once again she is off to a military training camp to take pictures. Yes, she gets involved in the click of the camera and forgets where she is and how much time has past; but that doesn't mean she can't take care of herself. But this time someone is out to get her and she doesn't know why.

Can Easton an his team keep Summer safe while they figure out whats going on? Or is it can Summer keep the men safe while they try and do their job? Either way you need to read this book.

“Oh, for God’s sake .” Easton snagged her arm while she grabbed the bag at her feet. “We’ll be eating in ten minutes. You’re coming with us. It’s the only way to make sure you eat. Otherwise I’ll find you passed out in the dirt.”“That only happened once,

>Book Review – SEALs of Honor: Easton

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 13th in the SEALs of Honor series and ends in an HEA. Easton and his unit are in Canada for shared training exercises. Summer is a photographer at the event. Summer is a really unique character. She is talented and focused, yet forgetful and quirky. She gets lost in the ‘zone’ and forgets where she is and the time, often forgoing meals. After smacking Easton in the face, accidentally, with her camera, the gang takes her under their wing.

> Easton has an immediate attraction. Summer is different than any woman he’s met. He thinks she may need to be protected and looked after too much, until he sees her self-defense skills in action. Summer takes a picture containing something that shouldn’t have been caught on film. She is immediately targeted for attack. At first she is just spooked, but as the attacks grow more and more serious, Easton and the guys make it their goal to protect her.

>This book is fast moving and grabs a reader from the first page. The interactions between Easton and his men are a huge source of humor, along with Summer’s quirks. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 5 stars. The story will hold a reader’s attention until the very last page.

Love has not been kind to Easton so when he is offered the opportunity to attend a training session in Canada with three of his mates he is happy to go.

Summer is a photographer who has been hired to photograph the events however she is a free spirit who is easily distracted by pictures that she wants to take rather than the pictures that she was hired to take.

The first meeting between Summer and Easton got off to a smashing start as when he saw her struggling with all her equipment he went to offer assistance and ended up getting hit by her camera for his efforts. Easton quickly took her under his wing as she keeps forgetting to eat and it looks like someone is trying to get into her tent. As they spend time together they become close but not everyone is happy that she is there and will they be able to find out who is behind it before it is too late?

I loved Summer as she was klutzy and spoke her mind and Easton was able to appreciate her for her quirks. The reactions of the three other men were humorous as they were watching their buddy fall. In addition to the romance there is enough suspense to keep you guessing. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Easton has been burned by love before and he is in no hurry to experience it again. Refusing to fall prey to the "Keeper" curse, he never expected to find his other half on a training exercise and he was unprepared for the whirlwind that is Summer. Summer knows she gets lost in her work causing her to forget about what is going on around her. When Easton and his group take her under their wing, she has no problem keeping the hunky seal on his toes. This story made me laugh so hard, watching the men try to keep up with Summer and how her brain worked was truly amazing to watch. Easton was caught in her web right from their first meeting and he did not even realize it. Ms. Mayer has a way of snaring you right from the first page and keeping you glued to your seat as you continue to watch the mighty seals fall. Fast moving storyline, an interesting mystery, drama, humor and great characters make this another amazing read. Watch out for the twists, turns and surprises to shake things up a bit. I eagerly await what comes next.
I volunteered to read this story for my honest opinion.

Hehe, I love this. I think Easton was lost the minute he got a camera in his face, maybe there was some concussion as it took him a while to realise it though. Summer is fun, very straight forward both in outlook and what she says. She is also automatically protective, not wanting anyone to risk their life for hers even if she's scared. A bit wrapped up in her work she forgets what's going on around her other than what's in front of her camera, often even the time escapes her. Lots of action and suspicious events happening to keep you reading a story that has suspense but also has some fun bits in the interaction with Summer and the guys, some intrigue as well though I did suss out one of the bad guys quite quickly but that didn't spoil it for me in any way. I have enjoyed this whole series and Levi's series as well, both are interesting with lots going on to keep you enthralled from start to finish. I wait impatiently for the next books to come out as I just cant get enough of these guys, I also love how they cross over sometimes into the other series, though this one doesn't but they are mentioned.

Easton is the 13th book in the SEALs of Honor series. The Seal team is out on a joint training with Canada’s military. While unloading equipment Easton meets Summer when her camera and other equipment smacks into him. The next time he meets Summer is in the mess hall where she is about to faint from low blood sugar. Easton takes it upon himself to watch over her. When he realizes someone is out to kill her, Easton’s protective nature takes over. Easton stops by to pick Summer up for dinner since she is always forgetting lunch. Corey overhears Easton tell Summer that she needs a “keeper” and that gives the team all the ammunition they need to tease him. Anyone who has read the other books in the series, knows that “keeper” refers to finding a partner. Easton knows he has feeling for Summer, but is she the girl of his dreams? Of course, she is! The best part of this book is the easy banter between the characters. I found myself smiling the whole time I was reading the book.
I received a free copy of this book, and this is a voluntary review.

Easton is looking forward to this trip to the Canadian wilderness for joint military training, but when he meets photographer Summer taking photos for the new marketing materials on the trip, it takes on a new twist. Summer knows she gets so taken with the art of what she is doing she can be seen as forgetful, but she loves to travel and can take care of herself if she needs to. So when she is stalked and is attacked, Easton realises she needs help from him to stay alive which gets much worse as the violence escalates and he comes close to losing a woman he can't stay away from. Can Easton keep her alive and can Summer get fully under his defences?

Goodness Easton fought the attraction all the way even though it was obvious how he felt (if only he could admit it to himself). I think Summer would infuriate me to the point of screaming at times, although I'm sure everyone knows of someone like her in life. Well written and very enjoyable, it was great to see a woman keep one of the SEALs completely confused. I'm just SO glad he came to his sense at the end!

Overview: Easton was another great book in the Seals of Honor series. It's full of action, humor and romance. I especially love how all the guys tease Easton.
From the get go Easton wants to protect and look after Summer. While she appers to need this in her daily life, she still can take care of herself.

Maturity Level: This book is not filled with sex, one or two very hot scenes.

What I Liked the most...

- Easton was brave to be willing to get into a relationship with someone who had been ill, especially after having lost his wife
- Summer kicked butt! She really shocked the guys with what she could do.
- The action was great and so was the mystery...I did not figure out who the bad guy was until he was revealed.
- Loved the team effort and how the react to each other.

I received a free copy of this book, and this is a voluntary review

Easton doesn't know what hit him when he meets Summer. Actually he does not what literally hit him but he isn't prepared for this pint size absent minded, honest, quirky, kickass (literally) photographer who is in danger. She is in the Canadian camp to take pictures while Easton and his team are there for some friendly competition.

Summer needs looking after and Easton has reluctantly taken that position. Summer is like no one he or his other teammates for that matter have known. Slowly but surly she gets under his skin, even if he is the only one who doesn't see it.

She is spunky and fun and so unlike the other heroines so far. I liked her a lot. Easton is a typical alpha SEAL but he is a little different from his peers and that made this a fun read, especially the banter between Eason and Summer.

'SEALs of Honor: Easton' was another awesome book in a fantastic series. I absolutely loved the story line. Full of action, humor, thrilling scenarios and mystery. Easton seems to pride himself on being in control and having order in his life. And then he meets a whirlwind named Summer. Everything he thought he wanted pretty much went out the window. I absolutely love her character. She's smart, scatterbrained at times, especially when she's caught up in the moment behind her cameras and she's one hell of a kick-ass woman. I love her openness and her bluntness. She definitely doesn't sugar coat things and she says exactly what's on her mind, kind of like Easton at times. She is the epitome of sunshine and rainbows. A must read. I can't wait to read more.

Easton is in Canada with his crew for training with other teams, canadians included. He's blindsided literally when Summer, a photographer, literally accidentally hits him in the side of the face with one of many cameras she has around her neck. She's contracted to take photos while she is there. Unknowingly she's captured something she shouldn't have. After the fisrt attack against her Easton and the other team members aim to protect her from herself. She's actually pretty funny and smart. Easton never knew what hit him. I like there are HEA to Dale's books and this was a standalone, but I like reading them in order so u know who's with whom couples wise or it would be confusing to me.

I just love Summer as she spends half the time away with the fairies and appears to be some small fragile creature but has the tough kick arse side to her as well. It was great to see how the guys take her under their wing and look out for her when they can while ribbing Easton when they realise he is about to join the club. It was good how you didn't actually find out why anyone was after Summer until later in the book and how she and the Easton deal with people trying to get her and how she can stand her ground too. Definitely get comfy to read this one as you wont be putting it down.

This is an honest review for The Assassin's reading reviewing group.

The author lost me early on when she had Summer run out of her tent hysterical after suspecting a man was breathing on her and literally run into Easton, a man she had just met, where he promptly kisses her to get her to calm down and shut up so she can speak to him? SMH - what?? What woman would allow some stranger to kiss her when she's in distress? Sounds like battery to me! Didn't help Summer is portrayed as a childish ditz who isn't smart enough to manage her blood sugar levels well enough so that it enables her to semi-faint, more than once, in front of Easton like some 1850's damsel in distress. I just cannot do dumb women. Not Ms Mayer's best.

easton and summer story...have to say this was a funny read...summer is a photographer who has a job to do taking photos of a new water system...

things start to go wrong and attempts on her life start...easton just happens to be hit in the face by one of summers cameras and from then on it gets interesting...

several attempts later and easton to the rescue with his mates....though i have to admit i didnt pick out the bad guy even when he was revealed right at the end

loved summers character though and hope she is featured in other stories later on...

Summer is like a hurricane, Easton doesn't stand a chance. All of her is a contradiction, you have someone very capable and focus who chooses to be carefree and reckless most of the times connecting with someone who is all about order and being on point and alert. Easton doesn't know what to do with her except he will not let her go. With her weird upbeat take no prisoners personality she stole Eastons heart. They are committed to protect each other at all cost and it is fun to read their dynamics and how clever she is with him to get her way.

Easton and Summer's story is full of laughs, intrigue and danger.
Easton comes across as the strong silent type till he meets a photographer that has a penchant for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
As soon as Summer saw Easton she found him very attractive and when he takes her under his wing she doesn't know if it's his protective nature that has him by her side or if he's interested in her but there's definitely fireworks between them. Easton is looking for a partner to stand by his side not have to protect, is Summer one that needs protecting or can she look after herself.

Easton

WOW! Another great story! This is about Easton and Summer. Summer was an unwilling person in the scheme to steal the new water converter when she picked up that extra case. Easton became protective of Summer the moment she almost fainted while getting her meal. It all escalated quickly when she started taking pictures. It all came to fruition when the pilot was revealed as the man behind the attacks on Summer. So happy these two found their happily ever after. Of course, Summer knew before Easton but it happened. FANTASTIC job Dale! I would recommend this book.

Easton, Devlin, Corey, and Ryder are Canada for training. Summer is there to be the photographer. Before Easton realizes it, he is babysitting her. He makes sure she eats and doesn't leave her bags behind. Summer is so passionate about taking pictures, she forgets her head sometimes.
Someone is targeting her. Easton and the guys take over staying with her, especially overnight to make sure she is safe. Easton calls Mason about his concerns. Will they figure out why she is being targeted? Will Easton be able to let her go?

4.5 Stars! I loved Easton and Summer! Poor guy didn't know how to handle that bundle of fun and energy... Summer is a sassy mouthed and thoughtful spitfire that literally almost knocked him off his feet. She was his roller coaster ride and he just got to hold on tight for the ride...he never saw her coming but darned if he'll let her go! She's a keeper! Fast paced, high energy and action packed...it's a great read!

Summer is a handful for the reserved Easton, but she brings him out of his shell and they really compliment each other. I loved the teasing he received from the other guys, it really made the book all that much more enjoyable. There were several twists in the book and the main couple at the end were excellent! The plot was great as always with these books - danger, romance, humor and spice. I love the set-up for the next book too. I was given a copy and volunteered to read this book.
