Pieces #1

His Missing Pieces

Rate this book
Maddox was drawn to Bryan the first time they met…but something was missing.

Best friends, maybe more, they did almost everything together. They had classes together…studied together…hung out together…They were inseparable. But as close as they were, Maddox knew he was missing something about Bryan. Some kind of missing piece that would explain so much. If Bryan wasn’t in the closet, why was he so quiet about his sexuality? If he was out, why didn’t he date?

Why couldn’t he see Maddox as more than just a friend?

Bryan had no idea what to do. As much as he felt for Maddox, he’d never be able to tell him because that would mean letting him in on Bryan’s deepest secret. Maddox is the best but he’d never understand what Bryan needed…how he wanted to be loved. Right now he has Maddox’s friendship and that will have to be enough. If Maddox finds out what Bryan really wants in a relationship, he might lose even that.

Story Contains: M/m Sexual Content, mild BDSM, Age Play, Mild ABDL *Authors Note* This is not a standalone book. The book ends with an HEA ending. However, there was so much more to their journey, I couldn’t put it in one book. The rest of their story will continue in My Perfect Fit and Our Perfect Puzzle.

When they first met, Maddox tried to show Bryan that he was interested in getting to know him as more than a friend, but since Bryan never seemed to even notice, Maddox assumed Bryan was straight. He found out later that wasn't the case, but he'd never seen him date or even act interested in things that most gay men would find attractive.

Maddox knows there's something he's missing about Bryan, but he just can't figure out what it is. It's like there's a "missing piece" to the puzzle. He can't figure out why Bryan won't just tell him. Then he wonders if maybe Bryan doesn't trust him. Maddox doesn't know how to get it through to Bryan that he will accept him whatever he's into. Afterall everybody can't like the same things gay or straight.

Maddox has given up dating other guys because he feels like he's cheating, even though he and Bryan reman are just friends and Maddox always wonders what it could be like if only they could become a real couple and be honest with each other. College vacation comes up and Maddox and Bryan head to Bryan's mom's house to spend the summer.

I really liked Bryan's Mom. She's very supportive, sometimes a little too much so, especially since she evidently knows what Bryan's into and that he is actually in love with Maddox. She tries to encourage Bryan to be honest and Maddox overhears. He learns that Bryan cares for him too, but that his "secret" is makes him too afraid to say anything. Enough is enough and Madox spends most of the rest of the story working to get Bryan to understand that he loves him too and no matter what his likes are...it's okay. Maddox and Bryan are cute. Bryan is so shy and adorable. I hoped that Maddox would ask someone with some experience for help. He pretended to feel confidence that he didn't yet have enough experience to understand yet.

It was, as always, adorable when folks finally find their "missing pieces" and fit everything together to become the people they really are and want to be. I've read several of this author's books about littles and their Daddies, but this series may become one of my favorites.

Daddy kink.

I didn't love this as much as I have other recently read AB/DL titles. It was a bit of a struggle to keep going with the uncertainty and embarrassment creeping in all the time...but I know that was part of the evolving relationship. And I did appreciate how slow these guys took things when it came to figuring out the ways to make the kink work for them. But...honestly? Something about them both being the same age took away a bit of the attraction for me. I want the Daddies to be, well, I guess older, experienced, doms...which means that I had a hard time believing in Maddox as this aggressive top. Sure, he was protective and nurturing, but that other dominant aspect didn't come through well.

BUT...this is the first of the series and as I think they show up in the 'cesty story later on as friends of Jeremy and Kevin (from the Loving series), I will give the next one a chance. Plus, it's extreme age-play and that is my latest favorite kink...so it won't be much of a hardship. (Although I'm completely in awe as to how well Innes/Montgomery can give us stories with such taboo type relationships or extreme kinks.)

(Also, I had to create an AB/DL shelf because so many books have come out recently with that kink - how cool is that?)

While this was a sweet age-play story, I can’t imagine myself reading 3 more books about these guys.

This had the standard Innes age-play formula, except this time with college students who were friends first before they became something more.

Maddox is in love with his best friend, Bryan, but he can’t figure the guy out. He is gay, but he seems to be completely oblivious about Maddox’s flirting. And Maddox can just feel that there is something Bryan is not telling him.

When the two are spending the summer at Bryan’s mom’s place, Maddox overhears Bryan and his mom talking. It was just enough for Maddox to understand that Bryan is in love with him and that Bryan is kinky. He just has no idea what kind of kink Bryan is into.

Now Maddox has to show Bryan he loves him too and that he can reveal all pieces of himself…

This was incredibly sweet, and I really liked these guys. But I think I’ve read too many Innes’ age-play books, because they are all starting to blur together in my head.

I guess this is a nice series if you want a sweet age-play book and haven’t read other Innes’ books. Or if you’re just a fan, then go for it.

Another age-play winner by M.A Innes!

The beginning 30% was pretty slow going, very introspective thoughts by both characters, which got a bit monotonous. Once the secret was revealed however, the story picked up and we got lots of nice kinky age-play.

Once again, I warn you not to read this unless you've read some age-play, this isn't just Daddy Kink and it will make some people very uncomfortable. I however love it!

A good introduction to the couple and series. I'm looking forward to continuing it later.

3.5 - a nice start to this series. Maddox and Bryan have loved each other as friends for a long time. Maddox hears a conversation between Bryan and his mum and realizes it’s time to be brave and take control... Bryan has a kink that scares him, but Maddox seems to be more than happy to be Daddy !

I just get so giddy and excited when I know this author has a new book coming out. This did not fail to impress. She has such a wonderful way of writing taboo that's sweet and innocent while being so naughty you can't help but blush while reading it. The MC's are so sweet and real you can't help but fall in love. I can't wait for July to have more Maddox and Bryan . Definitely my favourite couple yet .

Not bad but not for me. I'm down for some age play once in a while but then diapers and bottles and binkies made an appearance. Nope.

Hot hot hot!

Age play is not really a kink of mine, but this author makes it SO HOT - I think partly because it's really more about expressing and meeting needs than about the specific kink. The main characters have EXPLOSIVE chemistry. I was feeling disappointed that the book was drawing to an end already, so I'm happy to see their story will be continued next month! I'll be reading it for sure!

This was a sweet read about a subject I've never read before. I thought it was written well but it did get a little bit repetitive towards the end. I'm not sure I'm sold on the kink in this book but ill read the next one as it will be interesting to see where they go as a couple x

(This review is for all three books since I read them back to back) This one hit all my buttons: two strong, sweet main characters who build a friendship before they enter into relationship territory. I love how protective Maddox was of Bryan, and how he helped him accept that part of his sexuality. Bryan's mom was amazing (I'm always excited to see supportive parents in LGBTQ fiction, since it's so often an extra source of conflict and angst). The relationship was super sweet, and the book is way more about the relationship than about the kink and the sex (but if you've read any other books by this author, you'll know to expect this).

I immediately started reading the next book in this series.

His Missing Pieces is a friends to lovers novel. Bryan and Maddox meet the first semester of college and haven't left each others side.

Bryan knew that his sexual tastes were not the norm so he hid the most significant part of himself from the man he was falling in love with. Maddox loved Bryan from the moment they met. But Bryan was so insecure about his sexual taste that he felt Maddox wouldn't understand. Maddox being the dominant took the first steps to have what was rightfully his from the beginning.

Maddox and Bryan are so great together. Ready for the second book. Highly recommend those who love age play.

4 stars. This is only my second book by this author but I really their writing style and stories.

While I did really like this one and thought it was cute it had just a bit too much smut. I know. Who am I anymore? I never knew there was a such thing as 'too much smut' but lo and behold there is. I felt like I didn't get to know the characters at all because they were just all over each other for a good majority of the book except for at the beginning. But even then you still don't really get to know them. I'm not too pressed about it because the little bit of the characters that I did get I enjoyed a lot. Maddox and Bryan are too adorable and dorky. I loved them. I'm hoping the next book is more development for them. Also, shout out to Bryan's mom because she is everything and I loved her! Mom of the year right there.

Overall, was a fun time. M.A. Innes knows how to write some smut let me tell you. I look forward to reading the rest in the series.

This was my first age play book and I'm not sure yet how exactly I feel about it. Maddox and Bryan have a cute story. I'm not sure how much I bought into it though. We went from them both secretly loving each other, to immediately jumping right into it. It was to fast I felt. It's like as soon as Maddox guesses what Bryan's kink is, he's there 100% even though he has no clue what he's doing. And it's not like Bryan has a voice and is telling him what he wants.

Now don't get me wrong. The book was good. I think that these two are good together. I guess I didn't realize the rest of the series is about these two as well. I'm not sure where else we can go, but I guess we shall see.

I am not usually a fan of college romance but I'm gonna continue this series just because I want to see how Maddox and Bryan grows. This is the first book in the series and it is just filled with sweetness. Definitely low angst and okay steam. It wasnt slowburn as the two MCs got together pretty early in the book. Its about their exploration of Bryan's preference to Age Play to gauge each other's limits. I really like how much Maddox lead the relationship with Bryan but also how insecure he was on his inexperience. I have a feeling that Bryan and Maddox would encounter some hardships and challenges in the next few books in the series and I want to see how they overcome it.

I just cannot get enough of this author's adorable MCs! Navigating the ups and downs with newly self-discovered Dom Maddox and his too-cute sub, Bryan, was way too entertaining! M.A. Innes makes taboo so easy to read, and that's why I keep going back for more. Can't wait for the rest of the series!

DNF. Advertised as an "age play" story. Since I really wasn't familiar with what age play was I thought I'd give this a try. Unfortunately I hit the 25% mark and I still didn't know what age play was. The mother knew what it was, the person with the fetish knew what it was but I, the reader, and the other MC still didn't know what it was and, frankly, as the book went on I didn't care any more. Bad me.

Hmmm....

I was completely thrown into this one, without knowing much about it. Age play isn't something I was that familiar with. I've gotta say though, this story was hot, but not only that... it was cute.
Bryan and Maddox are best friends in college... that's another thing, I wasn't prepared for these guys to be so young... I'm not usually a young adulter either.... but it worked for these guys. I found myself caught up in seeing them learn about each other. How embarrassed and shy Bryan was and how much he trusted Maddox... I couldn't imagine having to hide pieces of myself... that would be no way to live.

I'm so glad that Bryan had his mom to confide in... I know it sounds weird, but it wasn't in a creepy way... She really helped him see that just because he liked something "out of the norm" that it didn't make him weird. I'll be honest, I don't understand diaper play. I don't get the attraction... the other stuff? Sure, but diapers? Not for me... it was hot though, I'll admit, especially the way Maddox took care of Bryan.

Sigh... it was just cute and sweet and not a story I might've picked out for myself, had someone not recommended it to me... but I'm so glad I gave it a chance and I'll be waiting for the next one!

I’ve always been a fan of BDSM book. It’s such a huge world with endless possibilities. His Missing Pieces proves that. It covers Age-Play. I actually never read a book that really focused on it so deeply. Bryan is a virgin and holds a secret. Maddox is his college roommate and best friend. When the story opens up we see that they are friends but that they are both very much in love with each other.

There’s a tremendous amount if inner monologue in this book. In the beginning I really found it to be helpful. But after a while I will admit I wanted them to speak up to each other more. That said, we do get to the root of every issue quickly and the author does not make you drag through scenes.

Bryan and Maddox are positively adorable together. Watching both of them navigating this kink was amazing. I loved how they were friends before anything else so they were in love with the person and not the physical only. Bryan’s fear of confessing his interestes to Maddox was felt through the pages and I blushed right along with him as he explained it.

This really is a sweet BDSM that really focuses on age-play in a way that really helped me understand it better. I can see the appeal to it and I thought Maddox was amazingly receptive to it and I admired his love for Bryan. They make this work because they want to, not because they have to. And I think that is what made these two a successful love story.

This is awesome for fans of all avenues of BDSM and can admire the facets of power exchange. Enjoyable read.

The story is well thought out and written. The MC's and supporting characters seem well rounded and work well together. Having not read much on the subject of age play in the past, I was admittedly skeptical at first. With Bryan and Maddox, the romance and chemistry jumped off the page. The Dom/Sub relationship seemed to work very well for them both. The age play had always been something Bryan felt as if he needed and may never have. Maddox's love for Bryan is exhibited in so many ways, trying new things that he knows he needs. Things Bryan needs to feel whole. I look forward to when their story continues. I've voluntarily read a free Advance Reader Copy in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

Wow, at first I was a little worried, thinking I'd get an overagressive over the top all sex no connection book, I've never read a taboo book about age play. But I was pleasently suprised. The underlying relationship between Bryan and Maddox is so sweet. They started as best friends, Brian not giving Maddox a clue as to his preference. But, after deciding to stay friends just to be with him, Maddox agrees to spend the summer relaxing at Brian's parents house. Hoping to get closer to his Best friend and love. Over hearing Brian confess to his mother that he loves Maddox but is worried to let him in, because of his predilection, to Age-Play. Maddox opens the door and confronts Brian, suprising himself and Brian. A sweet love story, with a some kink.

His hand finally started back down to my cock and he let it rest on my diaper again. “Does my boy need his Daddy’s touch on his special place?”

This is age-play people, not Daddy kink. Woohoo!!

Fair warning: the setup slow going, and the conversations Bryan and his mum have are super-duper uncomfortable. But once these two get honest it's wonderful. There's lots of binkies, bottles, diapers, and plenty of hot dirty-talk. Bryan is a natural Little and Maddox is happy to learn to be his Daddy.

I'm interested to see where these two go. On to the next.

A great, really sweet read with no angst. The Daddy kink, age play starts off fairly early in the read but it's slow burn. Their blossoming sexual relationship that's been founded on a strong friendship makes this really enjoyable. They're learning each other slowly. Learning about themselves and even though I found I wanted more sex sex, I can't take away that it was an amazing connection without it.

They're young and the rest of the series still spans college life it seems. I think I'll leave it here and go in search of some older hotties.. a little more up my alley.
