Tish Duchene wonders if she’ll ever be able to live a normal life after what happened in Iraq. She’s left the army behind, but the horror is indelibly etched in her mind. And just when she’s ready to find a nice corner to curl up in and lick her wounds, her mother, a pharmaceutical executive, goes missing. Tish would be more comfortable with a solo mission, but she needs the expertise of a certain private investigator, Dylan Tierny, a man who infuriates her from the get-go. Dylan has fought his share of demons, so what’s a few more? But falling in love is the last thing on his agenda as he battles the dark side of a drug company deep in a cover up. Pile on chaos in his personal life and it’s enough to drive him back to the vice that nearly cost him everything and everyone he cared about.
Tish and Dylan traverse a bridge of uncertainty, redefining with every step what it is they can’t live without.
When Nancy Smith and Cat Trizzino met in an online writers’ group, their individual styles blended to a shared vision. Though they live in different states, Nancy in Michigan, Cat in Maryland, their passion for well-crafted stories makes the physical distance irrelevant. Tempeste Blake is the result of their combined voices, an author who writes grab-the-tissue-box, heart-in-your-throat romantic suspense and loves to throw her characters into the deep end to see if they sink or swim.
Chasing Symmetry is Tempeste’s first novel.

Chasing Gravity is an interesting detective story full of romantic suspense. In this sequel several characters reappear from the first book in the series, Chasing Symmetry, yet there is a new mystery to be solved – the missing mother of a soldier who has recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.
Together with a local detective, they set out unravel the mystery around her disappearance. Initially opposites, their love and respect for each other grows as they work together to figure out why her mother disappeared.
The case is intriguing and complex enough to allow the authors to add in many twists and turns. The mystery does drive the story, yet romance remains in the forefront.
I found the writing and plot of this book even better than the first in the series. It is a fun read and will appeal to romantic mystery and suspense fans.

I have anxiously awaited Chasing Gravity, the follow-up to Tempest Blake’s debut novel, Chasing Symmetry, and it was better than I could have imagined!
A lot of the characters are flawed in this novel, but in a realistic way that keeps you rooting for them to overcome their ghosts from the past. Dylan is much more together and confident in Chasing Gravity, and I found myself quickly developing a crush on him! Although still struggling at times with maintaining sobriety, he seemed more grounded, focused and accepting of Finn and Bianca’s relationship. Tish’s character started out very serious and stand-offish, but her walls slowly came down throughout the story, revealing a softer and more likable side. I was completely fascinated by her brother Luke, who I’m guessing was Autistic or somewhere on the Autism spectrum, yet brilliant and at times, hilarious. As far as other characters, there were literally too many “bad guys” to mention. Between the employees at the pharmaceutical company, the evil sister of Elyse’s husband, and the thugs who kidnapped Elyse – there were a lot of nasty, sneaky, conniving characters – but they all added to the mystery and suspense!
The thing that I really love about Chasing Gravity is the wonderful blend of romance, suspense, mystery, family issues, as well as, the psychological themes of overcoming trauma and the past. There were plenty of subplots in this novel, but it didn’t become tedious or overwhelming. The action and the dialogue flowed perfectly and this story kept me guessing from beginning to end. I was initially frustrated with jumps in time from chapter to chapter, however, as I continued reading I fell in love with how much this added to the suspense of the novel, and understood why the chapters were ordered that way.
Tempeste Blake, a writing collaboration between Nancy Smith and Cat Trizzino, has proven again what a force they are in the writing community. The compelling characters and deliciously suspenseful plot are flawless, providing a completely satisfying balance of questions, wondering, and finally “aha moments.” I can’t recommend this novel enough to fans of romantic suspense but read Chasing Symmetry first in order to get the full experience.

Loved, absolutely loved it. I couldn't stop till I finished this book at 2 am last night. Everything is good in this novel, the writing, the characters, the plot. I loved the couple, Tish was a strong (kick ass) female character, Dylan was loveable in his fear of heights. I loved the development of romance between them, not too slow, not too fast. I loved the mysteries that were thrown our way, the disappearance of Elyse, murder, greed, what happened to Liz, everything about this book appealed to me. It was just my type of book.
Very well written with an interesting plot. I'm glad that I really got to know the better side of Dylan. Tish has a wonderful blend of strength and vulnerability. I just love her character. As with the first book, character development is done very well. I feel like I am in their head when the story flips to their memories of certain events and people. It helps to understand them. Overall, a gripping suspense and a beautiful love story. I would love to read another book!
I'm so glad Dylan got his own story. I love how Blake created a whole new mystery and love story while having some of the same characters from her first novel in this second in her series. The mystery drives the plot, but just like in her first book, the tease of romance burns in the background and is perfectly timed, creating irresistible anticipation.
The plot is complicated and the characters are well-developed and believable, flawed and relatable. Blake creates a vivid world. She spends a lot of time on her characters (my favorite kind of writing) and you can't help but root for them.
I love getting review requests from an author that I have reviewed before. Well, I love getting them from authors that I have reviewed before AND was able to give a good review! So, when I was contacted about reviewing this book, I was really excited!
Once again, Tempeste Blake did not disappoint. In the sequel to Chasing Symmetry, Chasing Gravity had a great mx of mystery, suspense, and romance. I think I may have liked it better than the first book!
Chasing Gravity flows nicely and doesn't have a ton of slow spots. It keeps a nice tempo throughout the entire book. The way the chapters jump in time from chapter to chapter can sometimes be frustrating. However, this book is written in a way that doesn't feel confusing.
Again, well done! Thank you for sending this book my way!

Tempeste Blake has outdone themselves in Chasing Gravity. This is the second book in the series and is probably my favorite.
After meeting Dylan in the first book I knew I needed to read his story and get to know him better, and let me say, this book did not disappoint.
I loved Dylan and Tish. Their relationship was a slow build and not rushed which I liked because we weren’t so focused on them but more of what was going on in the story.
The storyline was fascinating and suspenseful with a touch of heartache. The twist at the end was one I did not see coming. They did a great job with the different POVs. Everything flowed nicely and was easy to follow. The character development was on point. A few of the secondary characters melted my heart. I also loved that we got to revisit a few from the previous book.
This was a great read with a perfect ending. I thoroughly enjoyed it
A layered mystery with a satisfying conclusion! I bought this immediately after finishing Chasing Symmetry because I wanted to see if and how Dylan redeems himself (spoiler: he does.) These are not your ordinary mysteries. They are a complex web with no cut-and-dry good vs. evil, set in a beautiful place, involving interesting characters unlike any I've read. I lost sleep. I skipped date night. I had to stay with this story until the end. Highly recommend.
