Almost 30 years later it is still my and my daughters' top five favorites book! As I read it I did "running" finger taps as I read "Scott started to run." What I found most impressive was how well this mimics a "bad dream" with all the scariness and running and monsters and especially the rhythm of a bad dream, until at the end all was well and safe and good. Allows for talk about dreams and the opportunity for mastery. Beautiful, sweet and a classic. As a former child therapist I highly recommend. As a mother, I will never forget how comforting it was for all three of us!!
