I'M GETTING F*CKED AND NOT IN THE FUN WAY.

Last Christmas, I hooked up with my own brand of sexual kryptonite. More aptly, he’s my personal Sex Luthor. (See what I did there?!) We cuddled up in the Caribbean for almost a month, and he bent me into every position imaginable until our secret rendez-DO ME ended way too abruptly for my tastes.

Here’s the kicker: Mr. Gifted Dick is none other than my bestie’s older brother. CHADWICK CHARLES.

Blonde, built, and beautiful—he’s everything I want in a man but know I don’t deserve.

So, now, that we’re housesitting together, I’ve got six feet, three inches, of walking sex at my personal disposal. AGAIN. Add to that Chadwick’s little dare of “Don’t fall in love me” …my weak heart can’t take it. Or him.

Every touch, every taste, and every thrust seem to mean something more than what we’re saying.

Why can’t it be like it was in the Caribbean? When I knew where we stood—him behind me, with me bent over a desk?

God, I’m f*cked.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: While Knockout may be read as a stand alone novella, with a guaranteed HEA, it is a sequel to Bombshell (Up-Close & Personal Novella No. 1). Bombshell was Jacquie and Fox's story, featuring Chad and Char; Knockout is all about bringing Chad and Char together forever, so get ready for another raunchy, rom com from Kellie H<3rt!

By day, I am a sedate, however accomplished, young adult novelist. By night, though, I become a foul-mouthed vixen with a penchant for expensive coffee, thrift shop clothing, and bad ‘80s comedy and scifi. (P.S. I really, really like cats, unicorns, and anything that glitters/glows/shits glitter while glowing. Just sayin’.) All in all, morphing into a dispenser of smut is a natural outlet for my talents. Or, so I hope.

And hell if it ain’t a lot more fun than writing teenage angst which I’m most known for. Now, it's all the dirty ways we can get our kicks on Route Sexty-Six.

Anyway, if I can leave you with anything, ladies, it’s that I took a chance in writing Bombshell (Up-close & Personal Novella No. 1). It’ll either sink or swim. You’ll love it or hate it. But you know what? In the end, I threw a middle finger to the life I knew, and I stepped out on faith that something, anything, could happen from telling Jacque’s story in Bombshell. In telling hers, I kinda sorta told mine, too. So, let’s all take her mama’s advice, shall we?

Just live. Every damn day: LIVE.

Quirky & Flirty RomCom Novella Read

I really enjoyed Charlotte & Chadwick's story - yes it was quirky & flirty, funny & random... but it also totally got me in the feels.

This is my second read from this author and in this book I was ready for her larger than life, sassy, mouthy heroines & the strong patient men who dare to love them.

So if you enjoy a rom-com read that is a little left of centre, sprinkled with pop culture references used in a way you'd never expect & full of euphemisms you've never even contemplated let alone heard before, then a Kellie Hart read is for you.

Knockout is truly colorful, funny, dirty, and to my shock... sweet. At first I was skeptical, I didn't know how much I was going to like the trucker-mouthed knockout. I'm happy to say I really like Char and felt emotions with her. I'm not going to give any spoilers but i really want Chad as much as Char does. A great HEA!

There are just some books that you read and have no words to describe the awesomeness that it is, but I am going to try. Kellie has this uncanny ability to have me laughing out loud at the most random of word choices that she uses and yet it makes me love her writing more. The raw emotion that just bleeds of the page and into your heart in the most beautiful way is truly a magnificent experience. Knockout is a witty novella about Charlotte and Chad and the things that they have to overcome to be able to move forward. There is a HEA (thank god), and the sexy scenes are just super hot! The banter between every character in this book is just super cool, and it makes me a little jealous to not have people like this in my life. You do have to read Bombshell in order to really understand what is going on in this book. Where I absolutely adored Jacque and wanted to be her, Charlotte has just outshone with her strength and wit that I would love to be a blend of the two of them. Knocked out is really a romantic comedy that has some serious heart to it and it isn't until a few days later that it really hits you how much emotion there truly is. It is definitely a book that you will remember and for all the right reasons.

Knockout (Up-close & Personal Novella No. 2)
by Kellie Hart

Knockout for me was harder to read, I loved the characters just not as much as the characters in book 1. I found this book far more raw and real like, it dealt with some real sad topics. Kelli can make me laugh out loud, and at the most random weird thing at that. I love that both books I felt like these chicks are me! They talk like me and they really act kind of like me, I love that how we can see our self in stories and characters.
Knockout isn’t as easy to read like bombshell, yes, the sexy scenes are super-hot but the banter between the characters takes a toll on me. you. whoever ends up reading this will understand, I think char just annoyed me because of the choices she made and pushed away the one true good thing for her, I don’t like that. And it took me a heartbeat or ten to realize omg did that happen…are they getting a hea?

You will have to read this one to find out.

Knockout, is a romantic comedy but man does it knock you on your butt, it takes a couple of hours or days to recoup. This is a book that you will remember for such a little thing it is a knockout. 😉

I was given this arc for an honest review from the author.

I had the privilege of reading Kellie's Knockout in its earliest stages. Like Bombshell (No. 1), this story is also a lot like Kellie: loud, weird, and awkwardly hilarious.

When I read the reviews of Bombshell, they are extremely divided between a 1 star and a 5 star, and I kind of get why they would be. Kellie says in Bombshell that it's not everybody's cup of tea, and for some, her sense of humor might not work. Knockout, however, I think will level that playing field and earn Kellie a whole new audience.

Knockout is softer than Bombshell in a lot of ways because Char, the heroine, suffers from PTSD and depression. Chad, her Kellie-classic piece of man candy, is sensitive to this, and together, they find their own kind of happy. I don't want to post too much and spoil how Kellie makes the magic happen, but it involves a whip, brownies, and a hot, sexy roll in some paint. That fine balance of heat, humor, and heart makes Knockout something special: it's sweet and sexy at once.

And you're going to love Chad--a hot, curly headed blonde who reminds the MC of Indiana Jones? Yes, please!

This book was hard to read in some places. Char has been through some things in her short life that would break most people. For all of that though, she's buckets of crazy, fun, and giggles. I love her character. Chad is the perfect guy for her. He balances her crazy but allows her to be her. They have wicked chemistry together. Scorches the pages. As much as she tries to push him away he snaps back to her like a rubber band. And of course there's always Jaque to help them along the way. *winks* I received this book as an arc for an honest review, and I honestly LOVE this couple.

I truly enjoyed char and chads story. I could feel the connection these two have. It's electric, and so very hot. I also love that chad is take no bs guy. He wants something he takes he doesn't hold stuff back. He has something to say he says it, even if char doesn't want to hear it. He wears heart on his sleeve and that ladies is extremely sexy!!

I have actually read all 3 book & I have to say Knockout is my fave!!!!

I absolutely loved Char & Chad. Omg she is such a potty mouth & has some very colorful moments. Surprisingly we also get some very intense, deep moments with Char that came completely out of left field.

This one was sweet, hot, sexy, quirky and so freaking amazing. Absolutely loved everything about it!!!

Char and Chad’s story was filled with non stop laughter and even a few moments with tears flowing. I loved seeing how things develop between these two and Char’s personality is off the charts in your face hilarious. Chad is such a sexy gentlemen and I adore his passion for not giving up on what he wants. It’s a novella so it’s a quick paced read but not rushed which is wonderful. I recommend you grabbing your copy and see what’s going on in New Orleans.

Wow what a book I started this and couldn't put it down each page I kid you not I was like omg that's to damn funny. You can not help but root for the main characters Charlotte & Chardwick. You have Charlotte or Char as she's called by some who's a bit opinionated, brash and hides her feelings behind all this facade, because she thinks that she's not worthy of their love, but Chad has other ideas for her see he's been in love with her for a very long time and he's just been biding his time and waiting. That time ends Now for Char to finally confess her feelings while they house sit for his sister & her husband while their on their honeymoon, but will it backfire on him or will she break down and finally admit how she feels? All I have to say is you need to get this book to find out it. It's so worth it. This is the first book by Kellie Hart and I absolutely loved it her way of writing will pull you into the story and won't let go till the end.

5 F*cking Amazing Stars!!!!!

Book 2 in the Up-Close & Personal Novella Series by Kellie Hart was another home run!
I absol-freaking-lutely loved every second of Knockout! It was funny and dirty in all the right ways. The characters wee incredibly really, they were vibrant and I laughed so hard while reading both book 1 & 2. These books were hugely instrumental in getting me over a book slump I've been dealing with.

I am in love with Kellie's writing and will be back for more of her books in the future!

This is a novella, so of course it's over way before your ready for it to end. But its a great story with incredible characters who we can all relate to who get their HEA in the end.

Once again I fell in love with this author 's sassy, fun loving, and full of life characters! Charlotte is wild and loves the men. Chad is Charlotte's best friend brother that has been living in New York. The chemistry between these two is explosive and some of the things that Charlotte says will have you laughing until you cry! Where the 1st book in the series is more on the funny side, the 2nd is funny and a little more emotional. I can't wait for the next one!

More Rowdiness from My Fave Nola Besties

Having read - and loved! - Bombshell, I was expecting the silliness in Knockout. Of course there were lots of crazy Char-style euphemisms, and there was plenty of wacky, fourth-wall busting, inner monologuing. But what I didn't expect was the feels! The heart-bursting, ugly cry feels! But all's well that ends well, and this one ends very nicely. Definitely recommend this one for lots of laughs and a quick, cathartic cry.

This was another awesome book by Kellie Hart! I couldn't put it down as I am a sucker for a good, hot love story with some twists. And the fact that it is based in Louisiana makes it even better! I love the way she tells the story and isn't afraid to offend people with the use of profanity. 👍👍👍👍👍

I really enjoyed this book. Kellie's writing style is enjoyable and easy to read! Char & Chad's story definitely had some deep issues. I liked that Chad's a take no b.s. type of man. Char's internal dialogue cracked me up! Looking forward to reading many more Kellie Hart novels!

**4.5 STARS**

This was my second book from author Kellie Hart. I actually read Hot Rod first, so let me just throw out there that you don't need to read these books in order to enjoy them. However, I do think that you need to know who the entire gang is to full embrace the humor shared with the whole New Orleans krewe. The banter in this book, especially, was hilarious. Char and Jacque's sisterly cackling makes me wish I had Char or Jacque of my own, someone to get me into trouble and then help me cleverly get out of it. LOL Anyway, Char's chemistry with Chad is off the charts. I wanted to really dislike her at points because she's not whiny but she's not reasonable either. She's ruined by self-doubt and anxiety, which is totally justified considering her tragic teen years. But, at the same time, she destroys all the good in her life because it's all she knows to do. As someone who fights literal panic attacks everyday, I understand this habit. It's sickening. You want good and happiness, and when you get it, you're so worried it won't last or it won't meet your expectations or you'll just let everyone down, that you destroy it yourself because it's easier that way. That's exactly what Char does, but for the reader, that sadness and darkness can become tedious. It did for me at points, but in comes Chad--the blonde, chocolate-eyed, God-bodied man that he is. Chad is perfect almost every way. He's patient and kind with Char, and he loves her more than anything. At some moments, his devotion to her seems almost unbelievable, and if you find Char annoying, it is. That being said, Char earns Chad's love in the end, and the happiness that comes with having him by her said I think is well worth it.

Maybe it sounds like I both love and hate Knockout. I don't. Kellie's formula here may be a tried and true one of the romance genre, but how she does it is clever and refreshing. Char doesn't drink away her problems; she "euphemisms" them away. We all know a broken soul who only makes it another day because of their self-deprecating humor; that's Char here. We all know a man who's so in love with a woman that he'll do anything for her; here, that's Chad, but he's not an idiot. He knows why he loves Char; he loves her completely and not just on her "good days." To me, that's everything about love, when you don't hold against someone what the world would but you love them because of it. Any book that spreads that message is one I'll read and remember, or as Char says, "I'll take a bite out of that."

I really wanted to like Knockout, and I thought I would when I read the blurb. Unfortunately, Charlotte drove me absolutely bonkers. Her euphemisms were ridiculous and showed the maturity of perhaps a 10 year old, not to mention they irritated the hell out of me. As did Charlotte herself. OK, I get it, she's damaged, yada yada yada. She needed to get over herself quickly was what I was thinking the entire time I was reading. She had this amazing man right in front of her, and she just couldn't let herself be with him. She did everything she could to push him away, and he finally wised up and did what she wanted, he left. Bravo, Chad!

But, when he took her back, I understood too. Because he loved her, and love just can't be killed, even if you want it to disappear. He knew she was damaged and loved her inspite of it. Inspite of the fact that she was a royal bitch to him all because she couldn't get over herself. Until she finally did. And when she did, thank God!! Because I had lost hope in her ever growing up and getting over her stupid self. Her grand gesture to get him back was funny, way ridiculous, but sweet. So the ending, and Chad, redeemed this book for me. Had Chad been any less perfect, I would have given this an even lower rating.

4 “Little John “ Stars.

I really like the writing style. It’s fresh, funny and sassy.

Chad was so dreamy, and if you have read the first book, you would know exactly what crazy, scarred, but caring type Charlotte is.

I found it however, a bit cheesy at times. By overall I really enjoyed the story.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
On a scale of brownies to bakeries this book is your best friend’s brother.
After reading Bombshell, I was really excited for this novel. Charlotte is like me in so many ways, loud, outspoken, and without a filter. I loved her from the moment I met her in Bombshell and am so happy she got her own story with Knockout. Not to mention the many ideas I got from her on cute ideas I got from her on things to do with my future husband. Chadwick is the funniest. From his love of brownies to his obsession with Indiana Jones I couldn’t get enough of him.
Knockout is such an amazing book and Kellie Hart continues to make me expect more from the male population with her adorably perfect and amazingly sexy male characters with whom I have fallen in love.
I recommend this book to lovers of Indiana Jones, baked goods, and those who have taken the leap and given their hearts to someone incredibly special.
