“All the thefts have taken place under mysterious circumstances... in the blink of a cat’s eye without anyone noticing anything, the objects just disappear.”

*REREAD at 2020*

That one chapter... I did not really just expect that twist. Wow.

This would have been a really fun book if they didn't put the magician in it. I told my sisters the story, but I changed him to a ninja, and they said that if I hadn't told them, they would have thought he really was a ninja.

I was really happy with the pace in the Venice Masquerade. The Thea Stilton editors kept this case moving in exciting directions and didn't leave me bored. While reading this, I wonder why I hadn't heard about Carnival prior in some of the reality TV competition shows I've seen. It'd be a fun prompt for a challenge or photoshoot.

P.S. I feel reading the Mouseford Academy companion series will come in handy sooner than later because some of the side characters "re-introduced" here are likely introduced there, and would make only reading the main series less confusing at parts.

I had no idea who the villain was! It was so confusing and well put together. I think that the author did an excellent job and needed no critiquing. I think that it was not realistic, but that is because it is about a group of friends that are mice.

Thea Stilton was what got me into reading in the first place. I have 16 Thea Stilton books. And i loved them all. I still love them, but i don't enjoy them as much as i used to. Because as i grow older, my interest in Young Adult Fantasy grows too. And i've been reading books by Leigh Bardugo or Victoria Aveyard. I think Thea Stilton will forever be my childhood favorite book. I love Paulina and Will, they're perfect for each other <3 (also i've read more than 16 books but i only have 16 of them in physical copies, the others i read in a library) (I apologize if there were misspellings or incorrect grammar, English isn't my first language and I am still learning something new everyday, so please tolerate me if there were mistakes)

I think that if I'd read these books as a kid, I might have liked them more than I do as a parent. But, they're still fun, rompy, kind of mysteries, and while they are a bit silly, they have fun with the silliness, which makes them endearing. And, of course, when my daughter checked this one out from the library, I had to give it a go--because masks, and Venice, and things. A cute installment in a generally cute children's mystery series.

Another masterpiece by the author of Thea Stilton! Now I wish I could go to Italy during Carnival! It seems so fun and beautiful. Plus, I’d love to try some authentic Italian food.

This mystery was a bit more difficult and surprising, which made it more fun for me. Plus, I love masquerades, so that was fun to read about too.

I recommend this book to fans of the series, younger children, and adults who need something light to read.

I loved these books when I was younger and I couldn't get enough of them. This was the first one that I read. I got to learn about different places in the world that the Thea Sisters traveled to. There was also always a mystery, which I would think about a lot, and loved trying to solve, though they always surprised me and the end was always different then I thought. I recommend these books to third and fourth graders.

Just finished rereading the book... maybe the 4th time? It was still a nice experience reading this book once again! This whole mystery based around the carnival, which was a nice timeframe for a mystery to be! This book was really interesting!

**spoiler alert**
The story was about the Thea Sisters heading to Venice in Italy to see their friends that they met at Mouseford for a summer course, they were Marco and his sister Elisa. They headed to the carnival and they witnessed a minor theft, which a fan was stolen, by a sleight of hand. Marco and Elisa’s father was a chief inspector, the ‘thief’ had stolen items left and right, from dresses to precious masks and fans. But the stolen items all had something in common!

They investigated in the theft, but their friend’s father didn’t allow them. The Thea Sisters, Marco and Elisa figured out leads, they ended up catching the wrong person (which, the person was a surprise!)

Since the thief had announced their last steal, and the Thea Sisters were out chasing the ‘wrong person’, they went back to see the mask already been stolen. And the rest escalated a bit too quickly, that’s why I gave it a 4 star.

And the motive/reason behind the stealing was a great surprise too!

Overall it’s still quite a nice story to read! Enjoy reading it!
