Mother Duck brings a foundling egg back to her nest. She cares for until it hatches, along with her eggs. Three are ducklings, but the large speckled egg she found is not a duckling, she’s a dragonling. Mama Duck loves her just the same. Her sisters love her too, but, Egg feels like she’s missing something—her greatness! When a burglar sets the farm in a tizzy, not only does Egg find her greatness, she finds her name…Blayze!

Clements’ version of the age-old fairy-tale is unique and satisfying. And Choi’s soft-colored illustrations are a wonderful compliment to the story.

This is the story of a dragon who has yet to discover her greatness. As a member of the duck family, Egg feels a little out of place because she can't swim. Determined to find her greatness, Egg searches all over the farm. It isn't until disaster strikes that Egg's talent, sneezing fire, saves the day. Egg is a beautifully illustrated story that can help children discover that what makes them unique is what makes them great. Young readers will want to read this again and again!

Whompboom! Egg is destined for greatness . . . but she can't figure out what that greatness is. Young readers will love the adorable Egg and will root for her as she struggles to find her purpose in life. When she figures it out . . . Whompboom! The beautiful illustrations by Sunny Choi light up the pages! Bravo to Laura Clement - she has written a story with a universal message about believing in oneself that kids (and adults) will want to read again and again.
