It took me more than three years to finally be able to appreciate this book. A perfect example of how timing is key to enjoyment.
This is such a beautiful book, both the content and the illustrations. A fairytale-liked story dyed in a melancholic and tranquil blue, and yet behind the delicate blue veil are golden sparks of gentle happiness. An exquisite balance of profound sadness, uncertainty, and hope. Beautiful verses and images, with endearing characters and a plotline that flows gracefully like a sweet spring in the forest. And did I mention that the top gave off a Richard Gere vibe?
Like that nostalgic gentle wind that caresses one's cheeks on a fall morning, this book brought so much comfort and tenderness to my heart, and made me forget, even if it was only temporary, all the anxiety and depressing things of the day.
