And I’m dirt poor, only a few dollars to my name. At least for now.
With no education or skills other than being a halfway decent cage fighter, I’ll wash dishes or wait tables if I have to. Anything to make it six more months to my big fat pay day. Alex by Lane Hart a five-star read that will have you fighting for more. This is the ninth and final Cocky Cage fighter series full book, there is a bonus novella available from the authors newsletter at the end of the book. I am sad to see the back of these guys, but I think Lane has done a great job as we have finished the series on a massive high and there are more fighters coming with the out of the cage series and they look fabulous.
Alexander Stiles is a broke man, not broken, just broke. He is having to wait tables and do construction work to make ends meet as well as having a roommate, not where he saw his life 6 months ago, and hopefully not where he sees himself in another 6 months, if everything goes to plan. But we all know life never goes the way you want it to. The only thing he cares about if the fact he hasn’t been laid in 6 months, he’s found it’s so much harder to do when your broke. But that is all set to change when he hears something at the Havok gym.
Whitney Merchant has come to the realisation that she needs to see stars, as she has just finished an eleven month relationship with a man who didn’t make her see stars, and left her quite unsatisfied. All she needs is a one-off star seeing session and then she can move on. He doesn’t need to be anyone, he’s not long term after all. So when she turns up at the gym to find one, it doesn’t matter that he’s so broke he doesn’t even have a care, if he can keep her safe from herself then that may all he needs to do.
Can Alex persuade Whitney that money doesn’t matter and she can live with a broke boy, it’s not for life, just a little longer. Will Whitney be able to go against the grain, or will Alex give it all up for love? This was an amazing end to a great series.

I can say this one thousand times and I will continue to say that I love this woman.
Every single book that that brilliant mind creates is a masterpiece and can get me hooked just by reading the first chapter.
Lane Hart has a simple, intense and hot writing that can appeal to your inner goddess. Lol

Before you start to read this book I need to tell you something.
Alex is the 9th book from the Cocky Cage Fighter series and I totally advise you to read the first 8 books, because despite they are all standalones, all characters interact in every book. And the fact that you read the other books first will give you the chance to meet them all.
This books tells the stories of Alex and Whitney.
Alex is a rich and spoild guy that's used to have everything he wants without working for it. One day his dad get fed up with the way his son is living his life so he sent him away for one year, without money or luxury. He needs to support himself without help in order to keep his trust fund.
Whitney is Abby's sister. Do you remember Abby? If you don't, you need to read Senn's story and find out who she is...
Whitney just ended a relationship and is feeling more alive than ever. She wants a new start, a new life without drama... She just wants what every girl wants... A man who can love her unconditionally and without doubts. A man who can make her dream and see stars... But when you have your mother messing with your life that can be almost impossible to achieve..

I loved the way the story unfolded but what I loved the most was that this story is so beautiful and so intense that will make you dream.
The plot is amazing and the hot scenes are there as well. Of course the author scared me a few times but I love her anyway.
I laughed so hard with some chapters that I thought I could pass out. Lol but I was also sad, afraid and mad as hell. So just from this you can see that this book has the total package.
I'm super sad because this is the last book from this series! I loved all the characters so much that I wanted to continued to know more about them but hey, every good series has to end.
So Lane Hart what's next on your agenda? What will you write next?
I've already told you that it doesn't matter what you write because I know that I will love it because if I don't I'll go there and kick you. Lol

Lane has given us amazing characters to love in the Cocky Cage Fighter series and Alex was no different. Alex and Whitney's chemistry was off the charts hot, fun and comical at times but definitely worth the read. I loved this book so much that I devoured the entire book in one sitting not realizing it was over until the words "The End" appeared. I am sad to see the series come to an end but LOVED the journey along the way! Lane has such a gift with her words that translate into such phenomenal reads, I can't wait to see what's next!

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily wrote an honest review.
I'm not really sure where to begin or what to say or how to say it make all you readers understand how I feel about Lane Hart or her phenomenal God-given gift! I need to start by saying that yes she is an amazing person...she is a talented author...and all the stuff I have said since I read my very first ARC for her. She is all that, but she is so much more! This amazing woman has written quite a few books at this point in her career, but let's just talk about The Cocky Cage Fighter Series. This is book number 9. I have read every single book at least once(some I have already had to re-read!) Lane has made me fall in love just a little bit, with each and every one of the boys, but I have fallen hard for the hottest and sweetest one of all, Linc! And he is ALL MINE, so keep your mitts off him y'all. And if you don't believe me, just ask her! She gave him to me!!
I start reading Alex as soon as I downloaded it and I devoured it all in one sitting, like most of Lane's books. Her books are ALWAYS a joy to read. They are just written in a special way and the story-line flows so smooth and effortlessly that before you know it you are seeing the word "Epilogue". Which is always a joy mixed with a bit of sadness. Because you know the next words are coming that soon coming are "The End". I absolutely loved where you took us with this story! As like the other 8 books in this series, your character development in Alex's story is spot on! I was completely able to connect with the characters in this story. I really hope that there will be future books that touch on the lives of the characters in these 9 books! I would love to know where you will take their lives and if there is any more craziness in their lives in the future. I will be even more sad if we don't hear about them in the future, so I have faith in you Lane. Please don't forget about our boys!

Not what you'd expect from one of the cocky cage fighter group! Alex trains at Havoc, but unbeknownst to most people, he is a billionaire's son. His "friends" and women he hangs with outside of Havoc are in it for a good time, partying hard with the big spender - Maseratis, champagne, expensive gifts... But it all comes crashing to an end on Alex's birthday when Alex's father decides that the irresponsible, playboy, directionless lifestyle is not good enough and cuts him off. If Alex can survive on his own power for one whole year with only the contents of his one hastily packed duffle bag (no phone, no bank account, no credit cards, no car), then his massive trust will be released to him in full. If, however, he asks his father for help before his next birthday, he not only loses his entire trust, but he must immediately report to work a full-time job for his dad, doing whatever his dad assigns him to do.
Totally unused to having no money, Alex has a rude awakening. None of those good-time friends (not even his supposed girlfriend) want anything to do with him now that he's just some poor guy. No car, a crappy apartment, Alex knows he had to get a job and borrows a computer at Havoc to search for jobs. While he is there, he hears a sexy voice making an announcement over the tannoy: “Attention single men of Havoc. This is the desperate call for funfrom Whitney, generally known as a pain in the backside, gold-digger sister of the infamous Abby (now Senn’s wife). Whitney had been stuck in a dead-end relationship with the most boring (but rich) guy approved by her cold and grasping mother. When they finally break up, she is looking for one last fling before her mother attempts to pimp her out to some other rich investor to save her father’s business. Choosing Alex as the hottest guy to respond to the tannoy (and possibly the hottest guy she has ever seen in her life), the chemistry between the two is off the charts. Alex doesn’t mention his potential wealth if he makes it through the year, and the two burn up the sheets (or other things, much to their chagrin and my great amusement).

A year before his trust fund kicks in, Alex’s father takes away his cars, his credit cards and bank account and kicks him out of not only the family home but the entire state! His well meaning father wants Alex to stop being spoiled, learn to appreciate the value of hard work and stand on his own. If Alex can survive for a year without any help from his father and tell no one that he comes from money, he gets the trust fund on his next birthday. If not, Alex goes to work for his father and never gets a penny more than what he earns. All Alex knows is his training as an MMA fighter at Havoc and since he can’t stay in his home state, he takes the bus to NC and picks up his training at the Havoc gym there. He’s just fortunate to be at the gym when Whitney comes in looking for a one night stand man and chooses Alex. Their first night together begins a romance between what appears to be a dirt poor boy and a spoiled, poor little rich girl.
Wow! There is so much happening in this story! Alex figuring out how to live on his own and trying to find a job, Whitney’s father’s health, financial problems for the previously affluent family, and a seriously cracked mother basically trying to pimp out her daughter. A big issue is whether Whitney can love Alex in spite of his lack of income. And there’s that one secret she’s keeping from him, and I it’s a doozy. Then something even bigger happens, putting Alex in a position where he has to make a $90 million decision.
With her trademark humor, attitude and rich characterization, this author gives another delightfully entertaining addition to the Cocky Cage Fighters series. Although the main characters are in their early twenties, their depth, intelligence and self-awareness make them appealing to readers of all ages. Every new Cocky Cage Fighter’s book I read becomes my new favorite hero, and that’s an indicator of spectacularly skilled writing. You can’t go wrong with any of the books in this series and they don’t have to be read in order, so after you read “Alex” you can work your way through the rest of them. I’ve said it before in another review, but this series is every bit as good as Lori Foster’s Ultimate Fighters and Jaci Burton’s Play By Play series. Grab “Alex” while it’s hot because, let’s face it. Alex is hot!

Alex Stiles, spoiled rich kid to a multi-billionaire, gets completely cut off. No car, no phone, no place to live and only the money that he has in his wallet. He then finds out that the people that he thought were his friends really are not. So he decides to move for a fresh start. In Cary, NC is where he starts to build his life. He meets Whitney Merchant. Everyone warns him that she is a gold digger, but he decides that he will take a chance on her. She doesn't know he has a huge trust fund waiting for him. He plays up the poor guy act to see if she really will stick around. Whitney comes from a pretty messed up family. Her mom is totally manipulative (since Whitney and Abby are sister you can totally see where Abby gets it from!) And despite thinking that he is broke, she falls in love with Alex. But you can not have a truly happy ending if there isn't some good drama in the mix!
This was a great story! I liked Alex way back when he had a cameo in Jude. I am glad that the sweetness he showed then continued even when he thought that no one would like him since he was no longer rich. I really liked Whitney. I always felt like she was putting everyone else before herself, and I am glad that she decided to stick with Alex to have something that was her own. And I totally applaud her for going after him when he left even though it had to be so hard for her since the last time she saw him he some not-so-nice things to say about her.

Thank you Lane Hart for this amazing series and the latest, Alex! Alex Stiles grew up with everything that money could buy thanks to his father, but all that changes on the morning after his 24th birthday when his father cuts him off and forces him to stand on his own two feet. What follows for Alex is learning how to stand on his own two feet and fins something more important than the money he thinks makes him happy. Winding up in Cary, North Carolina and training with the men of the Havoc gym and fighting for his chance to make in the MMA world and finding people who are truly his friends. Whitney Merchant walks into Havoc with one thing in mind to find a hot fighter to take to bed when she finds Alex. Whitney comes off sure of herself, maybe a little spoiled and hung up on the bottom line, but there is so much more to her than what you first see. Whitney and Alex are made for each other, but their story-like the rest of these guys-will not be easy or without some misunderstandings and a little heartache. I loved the added comedy of the incidents that follow these two when they are starting out. I have read and loved this whole series and have loved them all, Alex included. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I am a dedicated fan of lane hart for many years now I've lost count. Everytime I pick up her book it's like my first book all over again the excitement tears and love is so contagious.
My personal opinion you have to start this series from book one to get the full effect of all the cocky cage fighters and their world.
Alex, after always having access to money it's never been a problem fast cars good night's out and never going home alone what more could a man need! Except on his birthday his father has had enough it's time for Alex to sink or swim. Make it alone with his father's cash or go work for the family company from the bottom up.
Whitney is stuck living her mother's life. But after some some news she learns that some things just aren't meant to be and life is to short. So she does something crazy and for her for a change. And everything is flipped upside down she's being pulled in every direction her heart saying one thing her mind another her conscious another. Until one goes too far she put in danger but who will be able to save her in the end.

OMG!!!! Lane Hart you are amazing!!!! Everything you write always captures me right from the beginning and this book just proves that again. I know this is the end to this series and I will sadly miss the men of Havoc, but as you said there will be a few extras coming, so at least I can hold on to that promise. I received this ARC for my honest review and I must say it was a privilege to share below, thank you Lane for this opportunity.

But at the same time that's what intrigued me, which he did win my heart ❤️ Especially at the hospital OMG I would have died seeing that in real life. As for Whitney she was such a feisty and hilarious woman. First of all when she grabbed the microphone at Havoc and made her announcement, I almost peed my pants. Then to have her her size the men up in her descriptions ROFLOL. But by far the best was the bathroom, when she realized she needed to shave her legs.
But all in all the book was fabulous 5 stars is not enough. I can't wait to read your future books and be blown away!!

Alex comes from money and is your typical spoiled, selfish brat who thinks of nobody but himself. That changes when his dads finally had enough and decides some tough love is in order. I loved Alex's dad. He's spoiled his kids but he also wants more from them and what he does with Alex is the best thing he could ever do.
I loved the change in Alex once he's on his own. He's a nice guy from the start but he's selfish and immature. That has to change when he's the only person he has to depend on and I loved seeing his character grow and develop.
Whitney is like the female version of the old Alex. Spoiled to a certain degree and not into poor boys, I wasn't sure if I was going to like her but there's more to her than that. Whitneys mum is a very manipulative woman. I'm certainly not a fan of hers and there were times I straight up hated Whitney. Some of the decisions she makes *rolls eyes*
This book was fun to read. The first couple of 'dates' had me laughing and rolling my eyes (probably because it sounds like something that would happen to me). Another fantastic book from the Cocky Cage boys.

Goodness, I Love This Series So Much!
In “Alex,” Book 9 in Lane Hart’s Cocky Cage Fighters romance series, the title character is a down-on-his-luck aspiring MMA fighter training with the Havoc crew. He’s sweet, hard-working, and completely hot! Lane Hart does it again!
This series is seriously bloody amazing and i love every single one of them!
I don't even read the blurbs anymore i fall in love with the characters before and then when their books come out I'm always waiting and loving!
At first when you see Alex i wanted to lump him, he was so different but he soon become the Alex i knew and loved!
He worked his ass off and proved himself, he was the one i liked the most out of this one!
Whitney gah!
I liked her and i didnt. He done my brain in at times.
She was bubbly and funny at points but so.. i don't even know how to to say it.. stuck up? Up her own butt? She really rubbed me the wrong way a few times but others she was really nice!
I think this is the last Cocky Cage Fighter book and i have to say they will be missed but never forgotten! I hope to see them in the future even if it's just their name mentioned in passing.

This is the 9th installment of the cocky cage fighter series . Lane Hart sprinkles her amazing story dust over another amazing book Alex. Alex is from a very wealthy family no worries about anything , well his 24th birthday his father cuts him off for one year to get a job, his own apartment , no car learn a life lesson. So Alex moves to Cary , NC to the Havoc training center. There he meets Whitney Merchant a woman that is used to eating at the best restaurants, receiving the best gifts, dating the wealthiest men. When Alex gets a job at a restaurant to make some money to take Whitney out the lesson his father wants to teach him starts to set in realizing having all the money in the world doesn't make you fall in love, there are bumps in the road with Alex & Whitney can their love get threw them this is a must read it's a great end to a fantastic series.

I loved the whole concept of this book!!
I absolutely loved the whole concept of this book!! Its definitely a little different. Lmao omg the stuff that happens to poor Whitney!! Omg I was rolling on the floor laughing! What a great book it went so many different but great ways!! I'm the type that likes to guess what's going to happen but there were so many exciting things that happened that I never could have guessed! Lol it was hot, sexy, drama, action packed goodness!! I simply loved it! I'm sorry to see this series go but I enjoyed it thoroughly!! Don't miss out on this last book and or the whole series!! I recommend it 100%!! You can't go wrong with a bunch of hot sweaty mma fighters with hearts of gold!! Thank you Lane Hart for another great read! Can't wait for the next series to start!!!

Alex and Whitney are a couple that just sort of make since. They have simular backgrounds, as far as wealthy families, and family issues.
Alex faces some things when his dad gives him a dose of tough love. Through this, not only does Alex learn allot about himself but he finds Whitney. The real question though, can Whitney like a guy who doesnt have money?
Whitney is put into positions by her mother, in the best interest of the family, but finds herself attracted to Alex.
This book was one of my favorites in this series, I thought both Alex and Whitney did a lot of growing as Individuals and their connection and love story was beautiful! The growth in Alex and the things he gave up in the name of love ... so selfless.... he was a different person.... LOVED this book!

I always get excited the days I check my emails and see I have one from Lane hart with an attachment this always makes me super happy as I know I will be blown away with her work and I wasn't let down with Alex
Lane had given us Jax, Jude, Linc, Mace, Senn, Nate, Trick, Luke and then came Alex a rich spoiled boy that wants everything handed to him on a silver platter until his birthday when it all changed.
I was hooked on this book the chemistry between Alex and Whitney was crazy, intense, hot with the occasional trip to A+E
I have loved this series so far and I can't wait to read more of Lane's work

I absolutely loved Alex and Whitney's story!
As with all of her books, Lane's stories grab you from the very first page and suck you into the plot, characters and relatable obstacles they face.
I'm so sad to see this series come to an end but I look forward to see what this author will deliver next.

Alex is a spoiled brat not caring about anything just money hungry punk until his dad takes it all away and tells him he needs to grow up! Then Alex meets Whitney and she's a princess and he's barley working doing his thing and MMA comes into play. Will Whitney be the girl to show Alex money doesn't mean everything? Wow I've read all of Lane Harts cocky fighter books and each one is like family in my eyes so unique and sexy! Wow! I can't believe this series of books has come to an end. And even better, all nine books were 5 star reads for me.
At the beginning of this one I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Alex but I fell in love with him. I had the same reservations about Whitney but she ended up being one of my favorites in the series. I also really enjoyed the small appearances by some of our favorite past characters.
Lane Hart has done a phenomenal job with this series. It continues to be one of my all time favorites.

Eh..this was okay. Didn't particularly like Whitney, she was just not the humble gal she tried to portray. Money was definitely uber important to her, she just seemed so phony in her interest and 'love' for Alex. I think her only redeeming quality was her love for children, but that's basically it.
Alex was just a colorless, bland character. He went from being a rich and spoiled man to being dirt poor and tad bit more appreciative for work and life basically, except it was obvious he was still a spoiled brat. So these two were definitely made for each other.

Love Alex and Whitney! Both are spoiled, but get to see what really matters in life. Not sure Alex would’ve seen it quite so soon without his father’s ultimatum, but he found something more precious than any amount of money in the world – true love! Whitney is so accident-prone and Alex is so funny while taking care of her. They have a great relationship and I know it will last thru the trials of life.

I really enjoyed Alex and Whitney’s book. After Alex’s dad cuts him off he’s forced to learn how to live without everything at his beck and call, and also learn who truly likes him for him or who likes him for his money. He meets Whitney that everyone assumes is someone who is just looking for a rich guy, but she soon realizes too that money isn’t everything and that maybe being poor with the one you love is better than being rich with someone you despise.

I thought Trick was my favorite story but Alex tops it. Lane Hart never disappoints.
Total different story line from the other cocky cage fighter stories. Typical billionaires spoiled son that needs to be taught a valuable lesson in life and boy oh boy was he in for a rude awakening. While trying to survive he meets Whitney (Abby's sister) and instant chemistry. Everything seems to be going well but then something occurs, putting Alex in a position to decide what is more important in life. Would he be able to survive a year without any help from daddy dearest? If not, he will suffer the consequence. Lesson learned!
I highly recommend this book & the entire series!!
