Paranormal real estate agent, Sloane Osborne sells haunted houses. And she's getting quite good at it. But not all hauntings are the same. Some are common manifestations but others are more sinister—dark and evil.
Called in to investigate a beach front home in charming Yarmouth, Maine, Sloane envies one couple's happy future whereas hers has been ripped away. These days, she finds more comfort in hunting the dead than being among the living.
But this fairy tale New England home has a dark secret: the new owner has gone missing—inside the house. Is Sloane in over her head? When the local ghost hunting team gets involved, they make things worse, waking up a latent evil that refuses to be banished. Some ghosts do more than haunt houses—they fight back to inflict their own torment on the living.
Second Sight is the second book in Kat Green’s Haunts for Sale series, and it’s another enjoyable quick read. Although you can read this one without having read First Contact, I do recommend reading the series in order. There are references to past events that are enjoyed best if you’ve watched the way things have been developing.
As with book one, Second Sight quickly sucked me in and had me curious to see how the story was going to play out. Again, I worked out one of the major elements, but watching the specifics come together was enjoyable. More aspects of the supernatural world were introduced in this one, and I enjoyed seeing the way they were handled. As much as I enjoyed the supernatural element of this one, I’m not won over by the romantic subplot in it. I enjoy the characters, but I don’t feel the intense pull between them that I would like. Despite this, I’m super curious to see what comes next for them.
All in all, Second Sight was an addictive second book in the Haunts for Sale series.
Such a great read. Sloane has some issues due to what happened to her in First Contact but it also makes her so much stronger. Jonah asks her to look into something for a friend. None of the circumstances make sense at first but as Sloane works on the case the twists and turns unravel to show a tragic history and some scary realizations. There were so many things I didn't see coming and they made me want to read straight through. Highly recommended!
This is the second book of the Haunts for Sale series following Sloane Osborne, a real estate agent that sells haunted houses. She's also able to communicate with the dead. When I finished First Contact I was anxious to get my hands on the second one, and now that I've finished Second Sight......... I need book 3 PRONTO!
From the first chapter this book sucked me in. When Brian and Rin move into their new house, they don't realize there are evil forces waiting to terrorize them. When Rin disappears, Sloane is called into to figure out what's going on.
I seriously couldn't put this book down. I had to know what was going on, and what was going to happen! The main character Sloane is awesome, and Jonah.......... (JONAH......... Swoon!!! I love Jonah!) We finally get to see a little spark between these two, which I LOVED, and I loved the new side characters that were introduced, Whitney and Aunt Stephanie. The paranormal scenes were creepy and well written. I loved the attention to details throughout the book and the little hints dropped here and there.
All in all this book was great and I highly recommend it!
I was granted complimentary access to a review copy of Second Sight by Kat Green through Lola’s Blog Tours. Thank you to all involved in affording me this opportunity! This has not swayed my opinion. My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.
Having survived the haunted house she was meeting her deceased fiancé at in the book one, Sloane is still in the business of selling houses, specifically haunted ones. The latest house to hit her radar brings odd circumstances, though. The owner hasn't sold or passed on, they've simply gone missing within the house itself. What sort of paranormal trouble is afoot this time?
Just like the first book, this was a quick read and quite a fun one at that. I love a good ghost hunting story and this did not disappoint! I will say this book definitely does need to be read in order, after First Contact, as it does a lot of referencing and recall back to that first book.
I do love the fact that we're seeing sparks of romance between Sloane and a living being, and the fact that it's Jonah is amazing, but I didn't quite buy the romantic tension built here. I do realize the irony of me, the not-a-romance-reader reviewer, saying something like that, but there it is. I don't mind a romantic subplot (and I prefer them to be subplots!) but if you're going to do one, go all out and do a romantic subplot! I hope the next book will be stronger in that aspect.
Just like the first book, I highly recommend this to fans of paranormal fiction and fans of ghost hunter subgenres.
Sloane is a paranormal real estate agent, confirming that houses are haunted by gentle spirits for potential buyers, and business has been booming ever since Sloane solved the case of the missing women in a small town that turned out to be the work of a serial killer. Sloane will be the first to tell you she got in a little over her head on that one, but she is glad its over and she would prefer not to have anymore like that. When her best friend asks her to look into a house for an old friend, she agrees, but this ends up being way more than she bargained for. Second Sight is a well written, well developed story that will pull you in and have you reading until the last page. Author Kat Green, which is actually the collaboration of two authors, is twice as nice.
Second Sight is the second book in the Haunts for Sale series by the author team of Kat Green. This is part paranormal, ghost hunter book and part mystery and sleuth book. Either way you think of the series, you find yourself drawn into the book and wanting to find out what is going on. Enjoying the history you find and the past as well and the recent things going on to case the ghost activity. For the most part I would recommend it for adult readers but I would say that most older teens would be fine with the series as well, but that is up to the parents.
Second Sight is the 2nd book by Kat Green in the Haunts for Sale series. It is the 2nd book I have read. I really loved the 1st book so I couldn't say no when the 2nd was offered. I was not at all surprised at how much I enjoyed both books. I have read other Kat Green books and have loved them all.
In this book and old school Friend has called Jonah. His wife and him bought their dream home. On night one his pregnant wife is pulled through a portal in the bathroom mirror. One of the members Whitney and Sloan seem to hit it off right away. When Whitney shows up later that night with a pizza Sloan invites her into the investigation.
