The hunters become the hunted! Space aliens have been coming to Earth for centuries—but not with any message of brotherhood or peace. They’re here to hunt the toughest, most dangerous humans they can find. Only now their former prey have teamed up against them. Predators, watch your backs! * Written by Predator comic series veteran Chris Warner! * Art by Francisco Ruiz Velasco.
Predator Hunters is exactly what it says, get a group of people who faced off against predators before and send them on a rescue mission/kill predators.
While on this mission we have a bunch of stereotypical characters working together to take out the predators. Got the macho guy, got the cool dude, got the Spanish old kingpin boss, got the woman who survived and refuses to stop fighting. You've seen these all before, nothing new there. Then when they get to the Island to kill the Predator, a twist happens, and now who is being hunted?
Let's talk about the good. The art is freaking great. The fights, the brutal kills, the designs for the different predators are all great. I also enjoyed the pacing as it didn't get bogged down with dialogue too often. The characters? All meh. They basically just shit seen before but not all that interesting. Also, on top of that, the ending is kind of fucking dumb.
Overall, it's decent. A 2.5 out of 5 but I'll bump it to 3 for that art.
This was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I know, not the best way to start a review but it's true. Many of the movie based comics can be awful, but this one is a fun read. The artwork is merely "meh" at best and that is a shame.
A group of humans who specialize in hunting and killing Predators find themselves on a remote island where it is reported that there might be a feral Predator (one who has lost his tech and is using primitive weapons). The story then turns out to be a bit more complex than originally thought, as a lunatic academic has decided to have the native islanders mimic Predator behavior. Interesting idea.
While none of the characters, save the Predators, really found any sympathy or understanding from me, the story was pretty good. The artwork is ok but I truly wish it had been better. Not the greatest Predator comic, but by no means awful- if you're a Predator fan then you will appreciate this comic.
This story features a twist on things. A group of survivors of Predator attacks are drafted to form a strike team to go after the Predators, so the Predators themselves will be the hunted for a while. So the team travels to in island in order to investigate some rumors, and things turn out to be much different than anticipated.
I like the idea of a team put together to deal with the Predators, as we get to see some characters from past stories return. It wasn't an instant classic, but the art was good and the series laid some groundwork for future stories if they decide to continue in this direction.
Story: A covert-ops group of mercenaries has one job, kill all Predators. The brutal aliens that come down to Earth to hunt us has been happening for as long as man has been on this planet and it's time to stop them. This group lead by a generational hunter of Predators, a former drug lord, and a bunch of former military have devoted their lives to stopping them, because all of them are lone survivors of past Predators and most of then have killed one. Newest recruit Enoch Nakai is one such lone survivor and someone the military labeled crazy and discharged after he managed to kill one after it slaughtered the entire base. They have word now that a isolated island in a South Pacific archipelagos is hiding a Predator. Everything should go smoothly once they get there but not everything is as it seems on the island as the Hunters become the Hunted.
Art: That's some scary ass Predator, it looks so primal; well for good reason. The art was really good. It was wonderfully detailed and colored. With some pretty nifty variant art in the back. I love how dark they were yet you could still see so much detail. The human characters, as well, were really brought to life the action and the gore was exceptionally done.
Review: This was not expected, it had a great twist there. A very 'The Most Dangerous Game' feel to it. I really liked this story it was something different and the character so diverse and the fact that some of them came from other series was a nice touch. I hope there will be more with this cast of characters.
Your usual Predator story. A group of people with secret pasts (in this comic they all share a link to the Predators) of varying ethnicities and mental health issues team up to try to genocide a group of predators until they realize that the humans were the real monsters.
Pretty art and a cool new spin on how to get humans and preds to interact with each other, but it didn't quite have the oomph to push against some kind of sloppy character writing and the same problem some Aliens comics have, not enough time to set up characters, relying on existing predator comic characters to come back so they don't have to worry about it.
Oh gee, an issue of a comic where a character is recruited to hunt down some dangerous creature, and shenanigans ensue. Never seen that done before.
Also, holy shit, the Predator's design in this comic is metal as fuck, dude. That looks really damn cool..... why don't we get Predator designs like this more often for the main movie series? I mean, don't get me wrong, I have loved what I have seen, especially from the Trachtenberg movies, but come on...... it doesn't get much more badass than this.

Great re-entry back into the Predator universe. I’m not a fan of the predator civil war stuff Dark Horse did previously so this is a good return to normal Predators kicking the crap out of people!
It’s a good snapshot of human vs Predator encounters through the ages and then the age old story of men and women with weapons versus the ultimate hunter. Tried and tested.
Survivors of previous encounters from a sort of A team to hunt predators. No government support. The males spend some time arguing? Perhaps strife over jaya, the female character.
This is how you do a comic. This 5 issue book focused on story and characterization and *gasp* it made the book better! This story had room to breath, I cared about the characters and the action was good and the plot wrapped up nicely at the end. Comic creators take note. This is how its done.
I really enjoyed this one. It has a unique take on the Predator storyline. There’s a fun fan character that pops in from an older book. I look forward to seeing where this goes in the next volume.
Great story. Great characters already love them all. Really love the twist in this one kind of reminded me of the most recent film how the story never goes quite how you expect it.
Love me some good Predator lore. I really like that how one of the characters was a character from a Predator novel that I read back in my teens. (Predator: Big Game)
