Nikki White was a 34-year-old African-American mother of 16-year-old identical twins named Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah. But on the afternoon of January 13, 2010, she was found murdered in the bathroom of her boyfriend's home. Her twin daughters would be arrested for her murder in a crime that shocked their small Georgia town. But what really prompted the girls to murder their own mother?
Sometimes, you see killers and then learn about their background, and you can almost understand why they did it. Other times, you haven't a clue in the world. I mean most serial killers had almost genius level IQ's.
In the world of True Crime though, most of these killers are average to below average in my opinion. In this case, these were twin teen girls. The mother felt herself going down the wrong path and let her mother keep them until she could get it back in order. Once she did, the girls finally came home. The problem was, they weren't the same girls and rules just weren't what they wanted in life.
If teen twins wasn't a good enough indicator on how young they were, you don't have to look far for other clues on their youth. When the cops questioned them they blindly lied, even with blood still on their hands. I learned so much from this book. If you like true crime, make sure you check it out!
Nikki was only a teenager when her twins, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah, were born. She and the girls lived with her grandmother. As the twins got older, they became more and more uncontrollable.
Nikki tried and failed to place restrictions on Tas and Jas, but, in addition to becoming wilder, their resentment toward Nikki increased.
The story was OK. It was more like reading someone's essay or report of the crime rather than an actual crime story. Definite!y. Of a story I would read again nor would I suggest this to another true crime reader like myself.
