Once upon a time, Cora Landers was America’s Sweetheart and destined to be the Next Big Thing in Hollywood—but that was before her sex tape ruined her image and eliminated her contracts. These days, instead of being an A-lister, she’s divorce attorney to the A-listers. So when her ex—and fellow sex tape star—Jack shows up, needing her expertise, she wants nothing to do with it.

Jack McArthur might have costarred in that sex tape, but he didn’t share Cora’s fate—instead of tanking his career, the tape skyrocketed it. Now, as one of Hollywood’s most buzzed about new directors, Jack has everything to lose—especially when he wakes up after a friend’s bachelor party gone wrong to find that he’s apparently married a woman he’s never met before…and now can’t find. Desperate, he goes to the only person who he knows can help—Cora.

Cora reluctantly agrees to help Jack—both because he’s offering an absurd amount of money and because she loves seeing him at a disadvantage for once. Neither of them anticipate the very real problem of their being unable to keep their hands off each other—or that Jack’s accidental marriage might be anything but accidental. With both her heart and career on the line—again—Cora has to decide if she’s going to take the high road or leave Jack hanging in the wind the same way he left her twelve years ago.

Official Summary:

Cora reluctantly agrees to help Jack—both because he’s offering an absurd amount of money and because she loves seeing him as a disadvantage for once.

What I Liked:

Usually I don't read books set in Hollywood, focused on actors or actresses or big shots living in L.A. I make many exceptions for books by my favorite authors, including Katee Robert. While a sex tape in the mix definitely didn't appeal to me, the ensuing romance did, and I'm glad I gave this book a chance. It was a lovely story, not quite second-chance romance but definitely one with a lot of history between the hero and heroine. The story is short and steamy and very satisfying.

Cora used to be a child actress, but she got out of the industry when a sex tape of hers with Jack McArthur leaks. Twelve years later, she's pushing thirty and she's a divorce lawyer with no love life to speak of. But enter Jack McArthur, after twelve years, who needs her help. After getting blackout drunk and having no recollection of the night - definitely not signing a marriage certificate - Jack needs Cora to help him get a divorce. It has been twelve years, but the chemistry between Jack and Cora never diminished. Cora wants to keep things strictly business, but she finds it impossible when it comes to Jack.

Cora is so prickly and tense, not a sweet and charming girl, but not a mean and rude one either. She's assertive and tough as nails, and she doesn't take crap from anyone. But she can't help but bend when it comes to Jack - Jack, whom she started to fall in love with when she was eighteen and lost her virginity to him. I can't say Cora is my favorite heroine (I didn't really love some of her logic), but I didn't hate her and I definitely understood her.

I adored Jack (surprise!). He's a good guy with a good heart. Twelve years ago, Cora used him and didn't feel bad about it, and twelve years later, it is Jack who wishes he could have been better. Jack is always looking out for others, even as he is looking out for himself with the marriage he doesn't recall. In many ways, I don't think Cora deserved Jack, even if she is exactly who he wanted.

The romance is pretty steamy! Jack is a control freak, inside and out of the bedroom. I personally like this type of hero, especially since he is decent sort of alpha male. There is a hint of kink in this book (not nearly enough, in my opinion. I mean, hellloooo, the title!), and I was all for it. I liked that Jack and Cora were well-matched in their preferences - Jack was very alpha-y, and Cora liked him that way. It is not quite a dom-sub sort of thing, but it mirrors that.

Did I mention that this book is hot? It is very steamy. You can always trust Robert's books to be filled with sexy, sexy times. This book is short, and there could always be more, but I thought Robert did just fine with the page count of this book.

A neat things - Jake and Jessica from Prom Queen are mentioned in this book! If you recall, Jessica used to be Cora and Brooklyn's roommate, until she moved in with Jake, in Texas. I adored Prom Queen, by the way!

The conflict of this book involves a bit of a revisit from the past, and of course the pending divorce. Things worked out just fine for Jack, and he wasn't swindled out of half of his assets. Things worked out well for Jack and Cora too. There is some apologizing on both sides (though I definitely think Cora should have been the one to grovel), and things work out. The ending is a very sweet one. I can always trust Robert to deliver a good HEA!

What I Did Not Like:

There was nothing really wrong with or bad about this book! I would have liked to see Cora grovel some, at the end of the book, but they both groveled, so that made sense. I always like seeing a woman own up to her mistakes and apologize and chase her man. What is wrong with that? Why is it always the guy (even when he isn't in the wrong, when it she is?)? See my review for Animal Attraction though. That book got a five-star rating for a reason.

Would I Recommend It:

If you're in the mood for a short, steamy romance novel involving a divorce attorney and a movie director in Hollywood, give this book a go. It was fairly low on drama, even though you'd think there would be (given the sex tape, and the fact that Jack somehow married someone in the beginning of the book).

Rating:

4 stars. This is yet another success by Katee Robert! The next book, Animal Attraction, is even better (in my opinion). I loved Levi!

For some reason, I keep avoiding my task to review this book. It's not like I didn't like it because I did. Not as much as animal attraction, but I liked it enough. I had a couple of problems with this book though. For one I would have liked to know from the blurb the truth about that sex tape. I would have liked some honesty here or at least a clue. There is more to Cora than I thought there was. Also, I would have loved to see what happened to Jack's wife. I cannot believe Cora let her get away. I want some blood. The romance between our two characters is good and we met the two characters from the next book who each happens to be a very good friend of a main character.

After having read both books, I can say that the second story is better, sorry Cora and Jack.

Well now … color me a little surprised! Why you ask? Because this is a short read but packed a heck of a punch! I’m not gonna lie, when I first read the blurb I thought … “hmmmmm, this story might be eye-roll inducing” but it’s Katee Robert so of course I’m jumping in. I’m super stoked that I did.

The story is fast-paced and really sexy and fun. The intrigue behind the marriage had just the right amount of suspense but it did not overshadow the romance journey. #winning
Jack and Cora’s history is quite a big deal. A sex tape is not something someone just gets over, yanno … and Katee made sure to represent that well in this story. #morewinning

So, an afternoon read written by an author who had proven time and time again she knows how to put a story together and maximize its content!

This is a second chance romance, hot, steamy and Hollywood style! More than a decade after costarring in a sex tape that went viral on the internet, putting a dramatic end to her career but making his, Jack McArthur contacts Cora Landers for help. He's been on a stag weekend and woken up to discover that he's beaten his friend to it - he's married to someone he doesn't know, can't identify and she's disappeared anyway!

Instead of being a film star, Cora is now a divorce attorney and he knows she can help..... but the chemistry between them is still volatile and highly distracting! Can they resist temptation or has time and absence made their hearts grow even fonder? Through it all, there's still the problem of the missing, mystery wife to be uncovered - and divorced - before the paparazzi  discover what is going on!

Ties That Bind has great characters, humorous scenarios, steamy encounters and is a brilliant second chance romance that takes readers on a scandal packed journey towards an explosive HEA - just endeavouring to keep it all away from the media!!

Cara's friend, Brooklyn James, is a feisty private investigator - I hoped she'd find her HEA in another novella soon, then I read the sequel to this, Animal Attraction Animal Attraction (Hot in Hollywood, #2) by Katee Robert , and was delighted to discover it was her story - I enjoyed that one, too! Both stories contain scenarios that make them suitable only for adults.

I requested and was given a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

TIES THAT BIND is a quick read but a really enjoyable one. Going in I thought there would be tension between Jack and Cora due to the sex tape that destroyed Cora's acting career but things aren't what they seem (). Though Jack and Cora haven't seen each other in almost 10 years they've both never forgotten their one night together.

This was definitely insta-love but that doesn't bother me and I enjoyed reading about both Cora and Jack. Cora in particular doesn't enjoy the limelight of Hollywood and getting involved with Jack brings up a lot of bad memories from her time as an actor and the relentless way the media went after her for their sex tape. She struggles a lot over being with Jack but she never doubts him. They make a perfect couple together and the chemistry is great.

Ties that Bind is another hit romance story for Katee Robert. Though it’s only a novella, it packs a lot, and you wind up with a story that’s sexy, romantic and plain fun. Sure you’ll be left wanting more, but not because the book is a novella, but because these characters are so lovable, you simply want to spend more time with them.

In Ties that Bind, we have the second chance romance of Jack and Cora. These two have a short, but powerful history, and when they reunite, there’s no keeping the sparks at bay. Years ago, Cora and Jack starred in a sex tape that essentially destroyed Cora’s career as an up and coming actress, while boosting Jack’s career as a movie director. Years later, Cora is now an attorney, while Jack is a filthy rich director with many successes under his belt. Ties that Bind may only be a novella, but Katee does a brilliant job with the characters here. Their personalities shine through the story and I loved what I saw of them. Cora is hardworking, tough, confident and a firecracker of a heroine. Jack is a sweetheart who has no qualms about going after what he wants. Both are characters that were very lovable, and very easy to ship and root for.

When he comes to her for help in annulling a Vegas wedding that he can’t remember, the chemistry between the two just about torched my Kindle. They are so good together, and I just couldn’t get enough of them. The sizzling hot chemistry leads to some of Katee Robert’s steamy bedroom scenes – seriously, this woman knows how to up the steam just through the couple sharing a look with each other! It’s filthy hot, but the two also reconnect emotionally. Usually with second chance romances there tends to be a lot of angst, but I’m glad that Ties that Bind was more on the fun side, with the characters not dwelling too much on the past. I promise that you won’t stop shipping Cora and Jack! I also adored Cora’s best friend and roommate, Brooklyn, who is the funniest, and brings humor to the book. Their shared scenes together portraying their supportive bond are some of my favorite scenes from the book. I just love books that show the strength in female friendships, and Katee does that here.

Once again, Katee Robert managed to sweep me off my feet with this deliciously sexy second chance romance. Seriously folks, if you haven’t read her books yet, you’ve got to change that ASAP. They are some of the best in romancelandia!

I really enjoyed this short, sexy story! It's the first book in a duology, and I can't wait to read the second one!

Cora Landers used to be America's Sweetheart when she was a kid. Her mom was the dreaded typical "momager", and she had Cora in TV and movies from when she was young. But, Cora wanted her own life, free from under the thumb of her mom, and her seriously binding contract. So, she took matters into her own hands and did something drastic to free herself. Now, 12 years later, she's no longer on Hollywood's A-List, but she is the divorce attorney all the A-List turn to when they are in need of her services.

Jack McArthur was involved in Cora's downfall, but it was far from the downfall of HIS career. Those crazy gender-based double standards were in full effect in that situation. He's now transitioned from acting to directing, and he mostly keeps his nose clean and stays off the paparazzi's radar by being boring. But, when he's in Vegas for a good friend's bachelor party, he must have let things go too far. He blacks out, and wakes up alone in his hotel room, but with paperwork claiming that he married some woman he doesn't remember even meeting. He knows he's in trouble, and he has only one person he can trust to help him: Cora.

Jack and Cora's instant connection is still evident, even 12 years after their initial meeting. They immediately realize they're in trouble again once they're in the same room together. I loved feeling their connection, as unwanted as it might be. They both don't know what to do with the other, and watching them flounder was quite fun. How they choose to handle their attraction is a joint decision, but they are both thinking vastly different things come morning. They both have to come to terms with their realities before they can decide if they'll continue with what's between them.

This was a fun bit of sexy banter and excitement, along with a bit of a mystery regarding Jack's MIA "wife". I really enjoyed the story, and I look forward to reading about Jack's best friend, Levi, and Cora's BFF and roommate, Brooklyn in book 2!

I thought Ties That Bind was a great second chance romance — and you know how much I love those. Cora and Jack's past was interesting and messy and well, pretty unconventional to be honest. It shouldn't be any surprise that what brought them back into each other's lives — Jack's Vegas wedding to a total stranger — is rather unconventional as well. There was plenty of animosity at first and I totally understood it. I also loved following along as their chemistry outweighed all of that. I shipped these two pretty hard.

If you're looking for a short, sweet and sexy second chance romance, look no further. Katee's got you covered.

FAVORITE QUOTES

"If you wanted to see me again, all you had to do was call—getting married again was a little extreme, even for you."

Twelve years and the taste of her still haunted him in the moments between waking and sleep, the memory of her body against his a sensation he couldn't have erased if he'd tried.

This was a quick read novella that kept me interested from beginning to end.

Cora and Jack have a history, a sex tape history. While it lead to Jack's career taking off, it trashed Cora's.

Fast forward 12 years later and Jack is in need of Cora's help and maybe a replay of 12 years ago? Cora got away once, will she make it a second time?

A great read that prepped me for the next book in the duet, Animal Attraction.

Ties that Bind is not your run of the mill second chance at love trope. First of all, reunited lovers Cora and Jack did not really have a romance in the past, more like a one night stand to lose one's virginity and get a sex tape out of it. Sounds intriguing enough, add the fact that after ten years Jack need's Cora's help in getting a divorce from a marriage he has no recollection of ever doing at all! But once they start working together memories surface that reminds them it wasn't just a mutual need that tied them together but a strong attraction as well that got waylaid by forces they engineered. Ties That Bind had serious undertones despite the occasional humor popping up (mostly from secondary characters ). Cora and Jack learns that sometimes things that are worth fighting for can survive even in the glare of the spotlight. Sexual chemistry is abundant but this book concentrates more in the emotional sacrifices they are both willing to take in the name of love.

There's always a bright side to every dark cloud and although Cora has yet to find hers, fate has one more ironic twist. Jack McArthur. One indiscretion ruined her, but hardly touched the Teflon director. Now her worst mistake needs her help and her heart may prove the casualty. Ties that Bind is a humorous novella of sexy scenarios, twists of fate and second chances that will leave readers scandalized and hypnotized by the saucy ride. Five stars is not nearly enough to describe how much of a wild ride Cora and Jack are together, but it will have to do.

A fast paced, short read that as all the intrigue, thrills and hot steamy action of a full length novel. This second-chance romance had me hooked right from the start. Jack has awakened from a heavy night on the town to find a marriage licence in his possession, he has no memory of his nuptials or his bride, and she has disappeared.
He needs to asks Cora for help, but will she? They have a past he's been trying to forget, but he has no choice, his career is on the line.
A wonderful, sexy tale, great writing.

Hollywood bad boy needs to get out of a jam and calls up a hotshot attorney...and oh, they just happened to hook up once long long ago.

Really liked this novella. Beyond the expected sexy times, there's an actual storyline and it continues with characters into the next in the series.

Quick. Fun read.

Cora, once an A-lister actress with a popular show, movies connected to the show, a variety of properties all aligned with the character, merchandising, to her credits. Even with child labor laws in place, the company had barely stayed within the confines of the law. Subjected to hours in the makeup chair, constant hair appointments until they had the perfect look, the ever-present wardrobe staff that controlled everything connected with the show and sent her home with strict rules about what was and wasn’t allowed to be worn if she left the house.

Her mother subjected her to audition after audition, confident that she was the Next Big Thing. She’d been right, and she’d never let Cora forget it. Her mother was a textbook narcissist. Having finally realised that at seventeen and understanding that nothing she ever did—no success, no beauty regime, no staying out of trouble—would ever be good enough for her mum....worse, as Cora matured, she was viewed as competition. Her mum applying passive aggressive tactics to manipulate that she didn’t get “too full of herself.”

Her mum managed her career with an iron fist and the studio owned their ‘brand’. As the show was coming to an end and she was aging out, her mum was already negotiating other projects about the direction of her career.
“I didn’t get any say in it. I wasn’t a person to her only a commodity.”
“You ever hear of a morality contract?” Jack froze and then turned slowly to face her.
“I thought those were bullsh*t.”
That was her passport out of hell. She ruined her reputation for the sake of freedom, making a sex tape to extricate herself from her mother and the studio.

The media frenzy had been rabid, they’d stalked and assaulted her. She pressed charges, but there was a gag order on the whole case, probably keep the feeding frenzy from getting out of control. She’d been chased and harassed every time she left the house and they even followed her to college. It had taken months for the brunt of it to fade and even then, people still took pictures and asked her pointed questions. Cora had known it was a risk and accepted that fallout as part of the process of gaining her freedom.

The security footage from the gentlemen’s club showed that he was slipped a drug, his ‘wife’ having slipped something into his drink.

Jack gets his divorce papers, after the extortionist wife tried to evade Brooklyn and went from being angry to pretending she had no idea what she was talking about to claiming theirs was a love match. When laughed at, she became belligerent and threatened to call the police. Brooklyn pretended to retreat and waited. Twenty minutes afterward a man showed up.

They might be devious when it comes to targeting Jack, but after being spooked, she was stupid enough to invite what appears to be her boyfriend over after Brooklyn spooked her. The first thing they did after he got there was get busy in the bedroom. It seems that in addition to swindling guys in Vegas, she’s running a tidy little coke business on the side.

The room faces the back of the house, so they must have thought it was safe enough. She got pictures, her face, and she’s got a distinctive tattoo on her ass. He’s blond, so she can’t try to claim the photos are of Jack. Even better, I have them snorting up their weight in coke—with the damn drugs, a scale, and a stack of cash sitting on the table. Who even does coke anymore, let alone deals it?

Lysa Smith had conned more than one man into paying her handsomely for a divorce they hadn’t wanted in the first place. Since Nevada was a no-contest state when it came to divorce, they’d had to pull out the big guns and threaten to go to the police with evidence of the drugs. Whether it would have amounted to anything was irrelevant because it scared her into signing the papers.

Cora secured him a divorce and a NDA.

The ending was abrupt.

This was a quick read that I managed to finish in an afternoon. A somewhat sequel / spinoff of Robert's book Prom Queen Ties That Bind deals with former actress, now divorce lawyer to the stars, Cora, and the man who helped ruin her career back in the day, Jake, now famous Hollywood director.

Jake finds himself in a very precarious situation in which he wakes up married in Vegas. However, he doesn't remember a thing about getting married or the woman he's apparently married to. The first person he thinks to go to for help is Cora. Jake has often thought about Cora and their one night together over the years and time apart has not diminished this feel at all. First he needs to deal with his marriage, and then he and Cora need to deal with what happened between them in the past.

I'm not going to lie, I was intrigued by the whole "unwanted marriage" plot point to this story, so I was a little bit disappointed when that didn't get more use than as a means to get Jake and Cora back together again.

Honestly though the main storyline revolves around what happened between Jake and Cora in the past, and the fact that there's still obviously feelings between them.

It's a short read and I think Katee Robert did a great job of making the story feel complete in the limited "page number" without rushing things. The sex is hot and the idea that these two people could spend one night together and not see or talk to each other again for twelve years and still have that spark between them came across as plausible.

I wasn't too sure if I wanted to read book 2 Animal Attraction but after reading this one I definitely want to read Brooklyn's story and to learn more about Jake's friend Levi.

Jack McArthur, once an actor is now a famous movie director, shares an explosive but short history with Cora Landers when a sex tape went viral. Cora was a teen darling, and a sex tape ruined her acting career, and she is now a successful attorney. Twelve years later, when Jack wakes up married in Las Vegas to a woman who’s disappeared, he goes to see Cora: she’s good, but better yet, he knows he can trust her not to divulge his secret. But does someone want to ruin his image, his career? Jack is not so irresponsible as to get so drunk to marry someone he just met…

Katee Robert never does anything halfway! Pow! Right from the first page, she hits us with the story. I must admit, everything went so quickly at first, that had I not known TIES THAT BIND was the first book in Hot in Hollywood, I would have wondered if I had missed a previous instalment. This slight shock lasted merely a few moments, and I got comfortable with the whole thing. Ms. Robert writes such spectacular female characters, she should write a handbook on the subject! TIES THAT BIND has a terrific premise, one I had never seen before, and it works beautifully. It’s original, captivating, so steamy, and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. The backstories were nearly as fascinating as what was happening in the present. I loved how Ms. Robert captivated the Hollywood atmosphere; she provides some great visuals, it was easy to picture everything and everyone.

TIES THAT BIND is intelligent, fast-paced, well written and the dialogues are excellent; I did not expect any less from Ms. Robert, and again she does not disappoint. A great start to a new series!

Double standards run rampant, especially in Hollywood. Just ask someone whose experienced it twelve years ago, such as Cora. Of course, America's former sweetheart was on the rise, but is no longer living in that world after being shamed. You'll now find this divorce lawyer has moved past, sort of, what happened to her, but letting go of her dreams is harder. A sex tape of her was released. Where she was ostracized, Jack, her co-star, was revered, his star rising, while hers plummeted.

Jack has gone from acting to directing, and aside from that one incident, an encounter he's never forgotten, he's lived above reproach. Well, until he wakes up after attending a friend's bachelor party and has no memory of what happened, nor signing a marriage license, binding him to a woman he doesn't recall even meeting. He needs help, and discretion, and ironically, the only one he knows he can trust is Cora, the woman whose career he played a part in ruining.

As Jack and Cora are reunited, it's obvious the attraction is still there, as is the hurt Cora feels. But, as she and Jack work together to figure out what really happened, their chemistry becomes stronger, as does their feelings, making it harder to resist acting on them.

What really happened at the bachelor party? Was Jack a willing participant? Or was he set up? Is he actually married? If so, what does that mean for him and Cora? Where did his "wife" disappear to? Can Cora move past what happened over a decade ago? Is there a HEA for these two?

One-click now and follow along as two people with a complicated past get a second chance at happiness...together.

This book is a stand alone with an HEA, but it IS a follow up to Prom Queen, Katee's book in the Bad Boy Homecoming series. There's an additional book, Animal Attraction, which is about the third bff.

When Jack wakes up after his friend's Vegas bachelor party with a marriage certificate but no bride, he seeks help from the best (and most discrete) divorce attorney he knows. Cora was America's Sweetheart, growing up in the spotlight and under her mother's thumb. After she and Jack are caught up in a huge scandal, they parted ways at her request. That was many years ago, though neither has ever forgotten the other. She's very nervous about being seen with Jack and stirring up the public's memory, but he convinces her that she's the only one who can help him.

They reconnect and the instant passion is off the charts. One nice thing is that they don't really deny it - they go with it. Cora's afraid to pursue it because she doesn't want the cameras on her again, but Jack makes a strong case for their connection. It's not really a second chance romance because they weren't technically dating before, but the feeling is definitely there. As always, the steamy scenes are craaaaaazy hot.

*the length of the novel keeps it almost too fast paced
*I'm kind of a stickler for wrapping stories up in a neat little bow, and there is the lack of an epilogue. I know they're not requirements, but the ending is quite abrupt. If you can be happy with an HEA and take the rest of it for granted, then it's definitely not a big deal.

Word to the wise: I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cora may have a successful career but lately she has been starting to feel pretty out of sorts even if she can't quite put her finger on what is missing from her life.  When Jack shows up on her doorstep out of the blue asking for her help, old feelings come rushing back to the surface and she isn't sure if she should hear him out or run in the opposite direction as fast as she can. Their chemistry is still off the charts despite 12 years apart, and for once she throws caution to the wind for a chance at one more night with him.

Jack never forgot Cora and the old feelings are just as strong for him. Although he definitely needs her help to get himself out of his current predicament, he can't help but feel like he is being given a second chance with her. We soon find out there is much more to the story of the sex tape, how it came to be and what happened afterward. Jack is not the bad guy in this situation - and Cora is well aware of it.

These two definitely steam up the pages, and while things are easy in their little bubble of privacy, Cora knows all too well what will happen if the paparazzi gets wind of the two of them together again. Hollywood never forgets a scandal, and the first one almost broke her but Jack is determined to convince her to give them a real chance. The question is- can she handle the scrutiny that is sure to come, or will she cut and run?

Ties That Bind was a quick, fun and sexy story that I really enjoyed! Although Cora made a brief appearance as a secondary character in a previous story, TTB can absolutely be read as a standalone so don't hesitate to 1-click it!

Cora was a child star, with a bright future ahead of her and life planned out, until a sex tape is released and her entire career comes crashing down. Now she's a grown, independent woman an a successfull divorce atorney. She needs no one.

Jack was a promising star. The hot young male lead among other until that tape. While Cora's carrer went down in flames his went up. Now he's one of the best directors in the industry with everything withing reach but when he wakes up married in Vegas, he has no choice than go to Cora and beg for help.

The chemestry is there from the start. This two only had one night together andI have no idea how that was enough because the minute they see each other again you can feel their attraction. While trying to find out what exactly happened in Vegas, they agree to spend some time together and i loved every second of it.

When we first meet Cora and at times when you see her in her Lawer part, she's this strong ice queen but when she's with Jack we get to see this vulnerable side too. Can she risk everything again? Or is she willing to let things happen and lose control?

Jack is such a sweetheart. He's caring but he wants Cora and he isn't shy about it. He's actually willing to do what it takes to get her back.

In this short novel, Katee gives the reader a great second chance romance. Is a fast read with a hint of mystery. I loved reading about Cora and how much more there was to her than what meets the eye. As always, you can expect great sexy times and laughter in Ties that Bind and you won't be disapointed.

Katee Robert brings out a fabulous "The-One-Who-Got-Away" Romance and bedazzles it with a wonderfully sexually-demanding Hero and a head-strong Heroine. The storyline zings and the sex scenes sizzle as this dynamic couple burns up the pages. Cora Landers was a successful child actress on the cusp of being "The Next Big Thing". However a sex tape make with fellow young actor, Jack McArthur, turns her into persona non-grata in Hollywood. She reinvents herself by attending Law School and becoming a cut-throat Hollywood divorce attorney. For Jack his career flourished after becoming the stud who deflowered "America's Sweetheart". He's now a successful director. Although there's more to the story than the public knows; even Jack doesn't know everything. But today he's in deep trouble. Although he hasn't seen Cora in over a decade she's the only one he trusts to help him. Fifteen years of pent-up emotions are going to explode.
"Ties That Bind" is a short novel featuring Cora who appeared in the Bad Boy Homecoming series novel "Prom Queen". In fact the Heroine of that book is mentioned in this one; as is fellow roommate Brooklyn Jameson. Jack is a swoony Hero with a predilection for giving the orders in bed. Luckily Cora is a strong Heroine who can hold her own. The Hollywood storyline is intriguing, the characters compelling, and the sexy is sensationally steamy.

I loved this first novella in Katee Robert's Hot in Hollywood Duet! There's something so wonderful about an A-list Hollywood director who isn't a total ass, and Jack is as straight-laced and swoon worthy as they come. When he gets black out drunk in Vegas and ends up married to an unknown woman, it's clear that foul play was involved. Enter Cora, who is an excellent leading lady up to the task of not only making sure Jack gets his divorce, but also finding her way back into his heart. I loved the little mystery in finding the truth about Jack's night in Vegas, and who doesn't love a little sordid Vegas tale, complete with drugs and wrongdoing. We get introduced to Brooklyn and Levi, who make an appearance as the lead couple in the next installment, and I loved Cora and Brooklyn's easy friendship. Some of my favorite scenes were of the two of them rehashing Cora's tendency to run away from the paparazzi-fest that surrounds being involved with Jack again. Okay, well my other favorite scenes are of Jack and Cora, because let me tell you- their chemistry if off-the-charts sizzling. Kate Robert writes incredibly moving and intimate love scenes, and this little novella is smoking hot.

In case it's not clear, I loved it from start to finish and couldn't wait to dive into the second installment, Animal Attraction!

When I found out Katee was going to write novellas for Cora and Brooklyn I was so excited. I adored both of them when I read Prom Queen and I asked for exactly this, a spin-off featuring these two awesome friends. Ties That Bind was perfect in every way. Katee knows how to write a love story and she definitely knows her way around some sexy times. She brings all of that and more to this book.

Cora’s backstory is not what I was expecting at all. I couldn’t believe what she did, but could totally understand why. She was stronger than I realized which just made me lover her more. Jack…oh boy is Jack one sexy man. I loved that this was a second chance romance of sorts and that over the last ten years neither of them had really stopped thinking about the other. What brought them back together again was not something I was expecting. I love that all over this book Katee kept surprising me.

We get some great Brooklyn moments in this book, which really made me excited to read her book. We also get to meet Levi, her love interest who is best friends with Jack. Levi is freaking hilarious and awesome and I really think he’s going to be one heck of a book boyfriend. I highly recommend this book. You don’t have to read Prom Queen to enjoy this book, but I think you should anyway cause it was great. I can’t wait to read Animal Attraction.

Cora Landers & Jack McArthur made a sex tape together when she was America's Sweetheart, which skyrocketed his career, but tanked hers. Years later finds her a divorce attorney to the stars, but she never really got over him. So when Jack shows up needing her help, she wants nothing to do with it. Finally he talks her into it, plus decides that he's not letting her go this time. Ties that Bind is a fast paced (almost too fast), sexy read that kept me turning the pages at lightning speed. Cora & Jack had serious chemistry that didn't take long to ignite into fiery flames once they were in the same room, which will destroy panties everywhere. And the colorful cast of secondaries made for some perfectly placed humor that kept me laughing hard. I've become a huge fan of the talented Katee Robert, and I can't enough of her awesome stories, as they are all different but amazing. I CANNOT WAIT for more, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Katee Robert knocked this amazing novella out of the park with a hot and sexy story that will leave the reader begging for more more more! This amazing second chance story is about Cora and Jack.

Cora Landers as America's Sweeteart. An innocent that was wholesome and pure, until a sex tape was leaked of Cora on her eighteenth birthday, tanking her career and sending her life into a different path. Now she is the divorce attorney to the stars, and the one person she never expected to see at her door asking for help is the one person that also stars in her dreams, none other than Jack McArthur, Hollywood director and sex tape co-star.

Jack McArthur never thought that he would ever see Cora again, but after a marriage in Vegas that he has no memory of, and a wife he cannot find so that he can get the marriage annulled, he knows that he need the best, and Cora is it. The instant sparks of attraction are still there, and Jack will do everything in his power to have her in his bed and in his life again.

But as Jack and Cora pick up where they left off so long ago, Cora knows that this time is fleeting. When the vultures in the tabloids pick up on the renewed romance, Cora is drug through the mud again. Jack will have to prove to Cora and to himself that he is the one that can protect Cora this time around. He will need to step up, before Cora slips through his fingers and out of his life for good.

I loved the connection between Cora and Jack. There were true feelings there, and when Cora opened up to Jack about what happened all those years ago, and why she did what she did, it took strength and trust to open up to Jack and show him the real Cora. The way that Jack was willing to stand up and fight for Cora was heartwarming and amazing. I was cheering for these to be find a perfect and forever HEA!
