There is a great deal of information packed into this little book. In Tiny Green Thumbs, C.Z. Guest does a good job encouraging the young, even the young at heart, to earn their green thumbs. We follow Tiny and Granny Bun as they prep, plant and harvest a backyard vegetable garden.

So why didn't this book get 3 stars from me? I just found that there was too much detail for the target audience. It speaks to how to measure a garden plot and the exact measurements that should be used. It speaks to how to measure the distance between each planting. It also speaks to how to prepare the soil and how to fertilize. Yes, all very important information. However, it is challenging to maintain the audience's attention with so much detail when you are not outside actually planting and growing a garden.

A little bunny's grandmother teaches him all about gardening in this sweet, adorably-illustrated book. This book works as both a story and a beginner gardeners' guide, with little gardening facts on most pages separate from the main text.

Tiny Bun (short for bunny) and Little Mouse want to start a garden but didn't know how. Granny Bun, who is very cool, helped them get started. The story includes step-by-step instruction pages that can be used by families to plant their own gardens.
