Sorcha Ramsay is as willful as she is beautiful, and she has mastered the art of convincing others to do her bidding. She coerces a few guards to bring her on a hunting trip, but when an unidentified archer targets them, Sorcha is restricted to the castle grounds. Worse, she’s assigned a lout of a guardian—Cailean, the maddeningly handsome guard who saved her from the archer—until her sire returns from a visit to the Grants. How can she show her sire, the infamous Logan Ramsay, she’s grown up if she’s not allowed her freedom?

Though he intends never to marry, Cailean finds himself captivated by Sorcha’s beauty and brash charm. He’s determined to keep her safe from the archer, whether she wants him to or not. Then Sorcha’s sire returns with news that has the potential to ignite the Highlands: Laird Alexander Grant has been badly injured. Trouble is brewing, and the archer, who may or may not be connected to a larger plot against the Ramsays and the Grants, continues to target Sorcha.

As the danger mounts and Cailean and Sorcha are brought together again and again, their heated attraction becomes a deeper connection. But can Cailean convince Logan, the most fearsome man in the Highlands, that he is a worthy match for his firstborn daughter?

An ok-ish read but not the adventure I was expecting after reading the blurb. I was also expecting more oomph and fierceness from the heroine.

I cannot really remember what I read, just have a consistent feeling of disappointment in the characterisation of the heroine.

Sorcha (The Highland Clan) Book 8 by Keira Montclair is an absolute pleasure to read. Can be read as a stand alone. Ms. Montclair has written a story that has so much to offer readers, it has danger, adventure, drama, excitement, a bit of humor, some witty banter and romance.
I was pulled into Cailean McAdam and Sorcha Ramsay's story from the very beginning. Sorcha has gone from a wee lassie to a grown lass, which perturbes her father, Logan, the most feared man in the Highlands. He is legendary. Cailean is proud, strong and brave, a guard for the Ramsay's, and also cares deeply for Sorcha, but he's not in her social class, he's a mere guard. Can he convince Logan he is a worthy suitor? Has Sorcha's feelings grown to love? Will they survive the danger they are facing, from unknown assailants?

Readers, will simply be factinated and thrilled as they are reading, "Sorcha". I myself was astonished at Cailean and Sorcha's young love and how Cailean finally gave in to marriage, family, love, and how he was determined to prove his love, even to the point of nearly dying. Friendship can turn to a strong and determined love. The antics of Logan was hilarious at times, sad at others, as he fears losing his beloved daughter. Every father's nightmare.

I highly recommend this fast paced, thrilling and highly anticipated story. It has everything a romance reader could possibly wish in a Scottish Romance, and more. Brilliantly and masterfully written. The cast of characters were fantastic, even the villains were quiet convincing, which only added to Cailean
and Sorcha'a story.
Keira Montclair is one of my go to Medieval Scottish Romance authors. She never disappoints me, she always leaves me in absolute awe. What a mesmerizing story!! Well done, Ms. Montclair! I can't wait to read the next grand adventure. Powerful and compelling. A definite must read for fans of Scottish Romance.
I received a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Sorcha and Cailean are probably some of my favorites out of the kids in the Clan Grant/Ramsay saga. Think bodyguard trope, but in the highlands. This was super fun! As always I love any time Logan and Gwenyth are involved but Logan being the over protective dad not ready to let go was kind of adorable.

Highlands of Scotland, 1280’s

Sorcha Ramsay daughter Ramsay and Gwyneth. All the lads in the Clan know you never touch Logan Ramsay’s daughter if you value your life! She is totally off limits if you want to birth any offspring in your future! Warrior Cailean MacAdam her protector keeps saving her life, but is also very attracted to Sorcha . Sorcha is very independent and claustrophobic cannot stay within the castle walls. She can convince anyone to agree to her desires even with enemy arrows are aiming at her!

Yet Sorcha has a good heart too always putting others before herself as she wants her siblings and cousins happy too. Of course her love for her beloved horse Horsie is so heartfelt and charming too.

While her Dad was away she wants to make him proud and take down a boar. She convinces the Ramsay guards to take her into forest, well beyond the castle walls. As this is what she did before her sister Molly got married and left her. Plus since she got her woman's body she is not the apple of her father's eye anymore. In addition her mother spends most of her time with her younger sibling. She feels abandoned and has guilt from a past transgression and wants to make her father proud of her. She convinces some of the Ramsay guards to take her on a hunting trip. The hunting trip turns into a disaster, as they are attacked by arrows. The guards surrounded Sorcha immediately and no one was hurt badly but Horsie. Horsie is Sorcha’s best friend and beloved horse she got as a gift from her father as a child. She is extremely upset when at first her guards want to exterminate Horsie. No way would she allow it, this is when Cailean MacAdam knows he feels something for Sorcha. As he has wanted to court her for some time. He knows Logan would never allow it, plus for some reason in his past he doesn't believe in love or marriage.Mainly because of his parents turbulent marriage. In addition what sane Ramsay warrior would want to get on Logan’s bad side?

When Cailean meets his match in Sorcha, she meets her match in Cailean. As this strapping, braw warrior is powerful and assertive. No weak and squishy lad will do for this lass!

Plus what Ramsay warrior would want to get on Logan’s bad side ? Not if they value their private assets and life itself. Plus trouble is brewing between Grant and Ramsay lands. On top of that the best swordsman in the highland has been badly injured. That is Laird Alex Grant. As there seem to be enemies and danger at every turn. On top of so much mayhem and treachery how can Cailean show his Laird he is worthy of his daughter? This is Logan's first born daughter, one he refuses to allow to grow up! In addition the Sorcha and her father are so similar in so many ways! Will Logan Ramsay the most terrifyingly man in the highlands ever accept a match for his daughter? Even one of his honorable warriors? Will Cailean even live to tell the tale? How can Sorcha convince her father she has grown up and there is only one man for her. Will her stubborn frightening father say ye or nay to allow Cailean to court her? Even if Cailean is shaking in his boots, but for the woman he loves he will do anything to prove his worth! Will Logan Ramsay ever accept him?

You must read this spectacular novel and find out. Another fast paced page turner that readers won't be able to put down. I have read this entire series and each book has been absolutely brilliant. I recommend you read them all. You can also read Sorcha as a stand alone books as it is the 8th book in the series. I think Sorcha is now my favorite. I absolutley loved this action packed -,heart pulling romance. It has so many twists and turns that you might need to catch your breath!

As Ms. Montclair does it again and writes another magnificent novel, that Scottish romance readers will absolutely love!

I received an advance reader copy that I voluntarily agreed to do a fair review and blog. All thoughts, ideas and words are my own.

This is an OK Highlander romance, but Sorcha was a bit hard to like.

Sorcha could be a terrible brat at times. She was determined to do what she wanted, even when she had been told not to (to keep her safe). I really wondered why her clan let her get away with constantly defying their rules, and putting herself and others in danger. And her horse's name was Horsie? Good grief. I get that she named her when she was a child, but a reasonable person would want to change that name once they got a little older.

I liked Cailean, but honestly thought he could do better than a brat like Sorcha. He was amazingly patient with her, even when she was incredibly annoying.

This one gets 3 stars from me -- it would have gotten more if Sorcha had not been such a brat.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

I just finished reading Sorcha this morning. I loved it. Having read all of this author's stories, I must say that in the descendant's series. This has to be my favorite!

This is Logan Ramsay's daughter Sorcha's story. His story is my favorite of the original series.

Sorcha is just like her father and she is the apple of his eye. All of the clan lads know that you do not mess with Logan & Gewnyth Ramsay's daughter. Only if you are daft would you make such an attempt. The lads want to keep their heads and other mentionables intact. Sorcha is adventurous and very quick to react just like her da.

In this story, Sorcha meets her match in a Ramsay Warrior named Cailean. He is a mountain of a man. He has vowed not to marry because of reasons from his past, but this lass just gets under his skin in good and dangerous ways. Even he does not want to get on Logan Ramsay's bad side and trying to dally or court his daughter would surely do that. This lass just makes him daft though. Unfortunately, he has become her protector because danger is around. As time goes by...his bow is starting to cripple.

There were great moments throughout and also laugh out loud moments too!

I loved how this author did Logan Ramsay justice through his daughter's story. I always thought and wondered... wait until his daughters are grown he will get his comeuppance and plus I pitied the man that would make an attempt to get close to any of his daughters. This story truly satisfied those thoughts in every aspect. I love this author and always want more stories from her!

This is a keeper for me!

Sorcha by Keira Montclair
The Highland Clan Series Book Eight
Sorcha Ramsay's life is changing. She doesn't feel as close to her dad as she once was and so she tries to win his favor. Only, it doesn't work out so well as it seems someone is out to kill her. Good think that Cailean is there for her.

Cailean MacAdam knew that having any desire for Logan Ramsay's daughter was a dangerous thing. And yet, it was hard not to notice the beautiful woman she's become. And now that she's in danger...he has never felt so protective.

Sorcha is Logan and Gwyneth's eldest natural born daughter. Being so, it's not going to be easy for Logan to let go and let her grow up. Not when to him she's still his wee bairn. Another exciting story into the Highlands where the Ramsay's and Grant's rule their powerful keeps while there is always someone out there wanting to take them out.

So loved this couple!

Keira knocks it out of the park again with this story. I loved this book as I have with all her books related to this series. Characters grow older, younger ones come up thru the ranks and into their own. Every book is stand-alone but to fully enjoy read in sequence. But truth be told I hadn't. 😁 These are stories I will read over again. Sorcha is so much like her father, Logan and I love Cailean as her protector. I had to chuckle over how he gets Logan's horse in his time of need. Enjoy this author. I will continue to pre-order her books so I don't miss any!

I've read every single one of the Ramsey and Grant books and they are all fabulous. Keira Montclair has the ability to take you back in time to bygone days and throw you in the thick of it.

Needless to say, I loved this one, it's about Logan and Gwyneth Ramsey's daughter Sorcha. If you are familiar with Logan and Gwyneth then you can probably guess what Sorcha's temperament will be like, if not, you will, and a Ramsey warrior Cailean, who has been named her protector during some troubling times.

As with all Keira's books I couldn't put this down and I know I'll revisit it again.

I received an advanced copy and I voluntarily leave my own honest opinion

The question asked in this book is "What would you do for the person you love?" Cailean says he will never get married but when he is invited to go hunting with Sorcha he changes his mind... He takes arrows shot at him, mud slides, and even a father that doesn't want to lose his daughter... Going through all that and he finds out that Sorcha is worth the pain.. I enjoyed reading this book from the first word to the last...I recommend ready the Grant Clan series first as that series is about the parents, it will help with reading this series...

This was OK, but maybe because I haven't read all the Highland Clan books before this one I didn't think it was that good. I thought Sorcha wasn't particularly wild. I was hoping she was more like her mother, Gwendolyn. Sorcha seemed pretty tame to me. And the reason why Cailean didn't at first want to marry was a pretty weak excuse. If one didn't know one's personality by the age of Cailean, that's a fairly clueless person in my opinion.

It was touching how protective Logan was of his daughter. I could understand his feelings. I'm glad I'm not a father with daughters. It must be difficult to watch then grow up and love another man.

Keira Montclair has hit it out of the park once again!

What a great addition to the Grant /Ramsey clan stories.

Sorcha can be a stubborn fool. It would take one very special man to be able to handle her independence. Cailean is that man!

Sorcha and Cailean's story is one that just melts your heart! So many twist and turns that leave you breathless!!!

I would definitely suggest that you read all of her books starting with Alex and Maggie story. Rescued By A Highlander (to get every once of wonderfulness!)

WONDERFUL SERIES

I read both series. The series on the parents and now the series of on their children. Both were excellent. I just love long stories in which one can follow two generations of characters fall in love.
I would highly recommend both series starting with book one of the previous series. None are stand alone. They are built to read in order. I read both series in a week and a half.
That in itself is very telling.
Thank you KEIRA for your imagination and diligence to finish both. You earned five star's for both series.

Deserving of the high stars. Gotcha is book 8 of this series. Hurry with the next book. The ending leaves us wanting the next to find the battle for the Highlands ending. Sorcha and Cailian love each other and must convince her father that he is good enough for his first born.

Now I know why it seems I keep falling into the same saga...

... Thirty books and counting on this series! I always feel annoyed at the idiot girls who don't follow directions and endanger everyone, as well as the villains who live to fight another day. There is something to be said for being able to keep up with the family, though, as the generations age and grow.

Good read

This is a good read not as adventurous as the previous one but had some humerous and confrontational events. Most men growl when their daughters find a suitor and have to make sure they are good enough for them strange how they always protect their little girls no matter how old they are.

Hiding A Big Secret

This series is awesome to read. It gets better and better with each book. The drama and action as it's unfolded with each character is always different. What I love about this series is the love and respect of each family and their clan. Each book takes you on a new journey with a lot of suspense from the beginning to the end.

Will the war against the Clan Ramsay and Clan Grant continue? Bearchum has gathered others to plan their revenge attack. The power struggle is on again. At least Cailean McAdam and Sorcha Ramsay have wed. She is Laird Logan Ramsay's first born daughter. Now on to Kyla's story which is next in the decendants series.

Entertaining

Continuing the lives of the Ramsay and Grant clans with Sorcha and her maturing to find a husband. Although in most of these stories marriage seems late for the characters in light of the time period.
