I enjoyed this short story by Lily Harlem! I liked seeing Aleco and Pedro interact by themselves since Julie was away shopping.  When they discover she's been taken, their anguish is palatable. I felt so bad for what they were feeling-and each one exhibited the same never-ending grief.  They strive to find her by whatever means necessary!

The Redwood Shifters series continues with book two, Finding You.  It is a good addition to the series as we get to know the various families and how they interact within the pack.  This is riveting from the very start and the story was very believable until the reason behind Julie's disappearance was revealed.  For me, it didn't feel credible. Now maybe that's just how it went down, and the book was solid, but I felt this wasn't a real strong reason.

Looking forward to getting to know all the Redwood Shifters!!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

The first part of this series I wasn't a huge fan of, but since I love Lily Harlem I thought I would give this short story a chance and I'm glad I did. It was good for a quick, sexy read. Not my favorite, not the worst either though.

I like that we get to see Pedro and Aleco alone since they are in a third and so often you barely get to see just two connect on such an emotional level like you do in this story. There are some naughty scenes, but there is also some scenes that truly show the love that is there between each part of the triad.

That being said, the story is a bit flimsy when it comes down to the reasoning behind Julie's disappearance. I liked the story up until that point though. While i understand Aleco's thoughts, it just didn't come from the enemy in a powerful enough to make me believe it from the enemies side of things.

The leader of the pack 🐕

Oh my dogs! I love this story. This is the second installment in the Redwood Shifters series. It could be read as a stand alone, but there are some spoilers. While book 1 was a MM (male and male) story, this is a MMF adventure. There's a lot of fast-paced action, a dash of humor, and a lot of steamy scenes. This is an established relationship, so it's different from most of the animal shifter romances I have read.

I thoroughly enjoyed the high amount of suspense in such a short story. Aleco is worried about his missing mate, Julie, and is trying to find her with his other mate, Pedro. He's the alpha dog (literally) of his pack, and everyone is working together in the search.

I also like how this story picked up right where the first one (about Aleco's son) ended. I'm excited to see what happens in the next story!

Only a few typos, but nothing too distracting.

Book & Author: Finding You by Lily Harlem
Rating: 3.75 stars

I’m not really sure what it was about the story as a whole that just didn’t grab me. It was well written, and nothing was wrong with it, but for a shorter story, it didn’t hold my attention. It might be that I hadn’t read book one in the series before reading this one but again...not sure.

I loved the banter between Aleco and Pedro. It gave us a glimpse of who they are together. Since I hadn’t read the first one, I had no preconceived ideas about their relationship, but I still felt like there was a part missing, a deeper love that wasn’t shown to me as I read.

The disappearance of their third Julie was a surprise to them and although most of that emotion came through the author didn’t flesh out of the why’s of her disappearance as well as they could. It is a short story, so that’s something that I don’t put much faith in since writing a full-length plot in such a short story is one of the hardest things I’ve found to be done.

It overall was a good short sexy read with cute banter and some danger, but for me, it just didn’t hit the right spots as a paranormal lover.
