Great reading

I think this book is fantastic. I didn't want it to end. I would recommend this highly. Can't wait for her next book.

Anyone who has read the first novel "The Roadbuilders" in the Roadbuilders series, will definitely want to read the second, "Crossroads." In the event you missied the first one, here is a brief summary. Carrie Baxter is five years old, living with her parents in Kentucky when the roads that connect her life are destroyed by global disasters: a massive earthquake, backlashes of tidal waves and floods. Communication fails, and her family, like so many others, is separated as people rush to escape the terror that remains. Eleven years later the protected haven her grandparents shaped for her in Stears Branch is shaken again, not by worldwide disasters, but by the upheaval of a nineteen-year-old boy who comes barreling into their secluded valley in his yellow El Camino. The Road Builders is a story of loss, love, forgiveness, and restoration.

"Crossroads" begins five years after Gary and Carrie return to Stears Branch where they take a series of wrong turns. Believing only what their eyes tell them, they find themselves in a world of “If only’s.” Gary follows a woman promising to help him find his father, when she pulls him into organized crime and money laundering a phony bourbon venture, his old buddy carries tales of infidelity to Carrie. The rift grows wider when she turns to a stranger for comfort. Trust is broken. It takes the threat of an old enemy seeking revenge to bridge that gulf. A "must" read.
