Fans of this author will no doubt recall that Conn first made an appearance in Dragon Knights Sword which is part of the Order of the Dragon Knights series. This new series centres around the Fenian Warriors of the Fae but I thought starting with their Prince was a wonderful idea. Conn has cut himself off from his royal heritage and duties to fully embrace his role as a Fenian Warrior but sometimes fate has other ideas. As a male capable of stepping through the veil of time Conn has closed a Gate that separates the realms and as the story begins is called to account for his actions before the Council. Yet it's swiftly revealed that this isn't the first time he has broken the rules and his punishment is to go through to the human realm and try to set right that which his arrogance has made go awry.
Ivy is stunned to learn that she's inherited a home and business in Ireland but with nothing to hold her in the US it's too good to pass up. Plus she's always been prone to disturbing visions so perhaps a sleepy picture perfect village is the perfect place for her. Ivy quickly starts to realise that whilst her uncle was much loved by all his death might not have been completely accidental. Unsure who to trust Ivy reluctantly gets help from a gorgeous stranger to renovate her new home but is Conn being honest with her?
This strangely enough has quite a slow pace and if you are expecting action scenes then I fear you will be disappointed. It is though a lovely sprawling romance that doesn't rush but allows the couple to develop their relationship ar a realistic pace.
Ivy is human and has no idea about her heritage which is mentioned as the story draws to a close but I personally found that explanation of certain characters being hidden a little weak. What I did like was the way Ivy seemed to slot right in amongst those she met and there is a mystery to solve which puts Ivy in danger.
Conn is so protective and yet as a male who has been alive for centuries knows his mission to right the wrong he did to Ivy's ancestor is complicated. Getting close to Ivy causes him to experience feelings that are new and unsettling. Yet Conn does fall hard for Ivy with repercussions that he never expected!
So a lovely romance with magic that just flowed so lyrically. The settings are beautiful, the characters interesting and the story unexpected. Yes this went in a direction I hadn't considered but I particularly liked that we are left wondering what will happen next. There are characters from previous books and new ones too and I can easily see that the other Warriors will soon be stepping up with books of their own. This is my first book by this author but I'd happily hunt down her back catalogue . I'd recommend this to readers who have enjoyed books by Donna Grant as the settings and paranormal romance are very reminiscent
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

(Legends of the Fenian Warriors, #1)

Conn MacRoich a Fenian Warrior has traveled the earth for thousands of years. He guards the realm between the humans and the Fae. He deeds are indeed legendary, but one mistake will take him on a journey to fix a broken timeline. The thing is on Conn's quest, he must face a human female who will end up bringing this strong ancient warrior to his knees something that has never been done before.

When Ivy O'callaghan inherits her uncles estate in Ireland she never imagined that there would be more secrets to shock her including the one she hides from the world. With the help of a mysterious stranger, she finally learns to trust and step out of the shadows. However, nothing and I mean nothing prepared Ivy when she learns Conns true identity.

As the loom of fate weaves a thread around the lovers from two different worlds, will their sacrifices lead them to love? Or will their secrets destroy and separate them forever leaving them both two broken souls?

Incredible is putting this book mildly. Mary Morgan is such a talented and unique author. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and I'll be honest I had tears of happiness streaming down my face at a certain point. Ms. Morgan writes the stories that I can only dream of. I felt like I was right there in both worlds as I read this book. I cannot say enough good things about this book. If I could give Ms. Morgan every star in the universe I would, but since that is not possible I will give her the 5 stars that she more then deserves. Thank you Ms. Morgan for taking me away from my daily life and giving me the gift of time travel.

One of the best........ever

I truly love Ms. Morgan's books, but this one is breathtaking. She brings her characters to life as if I were there through the entire story. She describes the land, flowers and especially the Fae Realm to the degree that I can almost smell Ivy's roses. This is one of the best and most beautifully written books I have ever read, and not once did I tire of it. Conn and Ivy's story is fascinating and lovely , even when I was fearful it was doomed at one point. Conn it's strong, protective and loves with his heart, soul and everything he is. Ivy had a lot to take in when she met this human and later found how unique he really was. But their love and their bond was so powerful, I found myself longing for such a love. If this is what the first story did to me, I cannot imagine the second. Thank you, Mary, for this absolutely amazing story. It is one I will not forget.

I have always been fascinated with Celtic mythology, so it only made sense that I would develop and expand the world of the Fenian Fae Warriors. Theirs was a world rich in legends, colors, and senses. I’ve based my own fictional account on the legend of the Tuatha de Danann—one of the invasions of Ireland. They were known as the Shining Ones or the Fae.

I hope you’ve enjoyed Conn and Ivy’s story. Conn first made an appearance in Dragon Knight’s Sword,
Book 1 in the Order of the Dragon Knights. When he strode forth within a crowd to the heroine, Brigid
O’Neill, I knew he would be destined to become a main character throughout the series, including having his own story.

Having met the Fenian Warriors in the Order of the Dragon Knights series, I was quite excited that readers were finally going to get to know them better and hear their stories. And now that I have read the first book in the Legends of the Fenian Warriors series, I have to tell you that it surpassed my expectations. Mary Morgan brings her worlds to vivid live with well written words and a gift for spinning a tale that makes readers believe in the unbelievable and easily draws them into the worlds she brings to life. Conn MacRoich and Ivy O’Callaghan are two of the most strong, vibrant characters that I have ever read as they try to unravel secrets, right wrongs and deny a sizzling attraction that heats up the pages. The romance between the two is smolders with passion and adventure as they captivate readers with their strength and depth.

Elements of danger and magic add a mysterious ambiance to the story which has a fast paced plot and flows smoothly through the events that take place ensuring that readers can’t put the book down for fear that they might miss one second of this the thrilling suspense and intriguing tale of lovers separated by worlds but linked by the fates. Conn’s struggle between his quest and his feelings for Ivy add to the depth of the story and make it easy for readers to believe that heroes really do exist and guarantees that readers want to get to know more of the Fenian Warriors.

For those that long to return to Neverland…

Quest of a Warrior by Mary Morgan is a wonderfully magical tale set in mythical Ireland which features the fae, enchanted lands, inheritances and wrongs to be made right. It marks the debut of Mary’s new Legends of the Fenian Warriors fantasy series, a spin-off from her Dragon Knights series. It’s the first book I’ve ever read by this author but it’s already not the last! This is the story of Fenian Warrior Prince Conn MacRoich and American heiress Ivy O’Callaghan.

As the story opens, Conn has been called to account in front of the Council for breaking the rules regarding the separation between the realms. As punishment, he must return to the human realm and fix the timeline which his brash behavior had set asunder. Unfortunately, his task is complicated because righting the wrong done to Ivy’s ancestor will have serious implications for the modern-day Ivy who’s awakened his heart.

Discovering that she has inherited a home and business in Ireland was a surprise, nevertheless, it couldn’t have come at a better time for Ivy. With nothing to hold her in the US, she sets off to make a fresh start. When she arrives in Ireland and surveys her inheritance, she realizes that she requires assistance to renovate the estate to make it livable. Low on funds, her options are limited. When a gorgeous stranger offers his services - even though he seems too good to be true - she accepts. But, can she trust Conn, her new handyman? In addition, she discovers that her uncle’s death may not have been an accident as she was led to believe. This discovery may be related to a serious new threat as someone is now targeting Ivy. Why?

Conn and Ivy are each well-developed, likable and genuine characters. Their interactions are funny and steamy. I like how Conn assists Ivy in learning about her heritage and her abilities. As they work together to solve the mystery of who would want to hurt her, Conn’s protectiveness comes to the forefront and causes a few issues. The couple has to work through this as Conn is used to calling the shots and Ivy is determined to be her own person. Their story kept me transfixed and in awe from the beginning to the end.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from Quest of a Warrior:

Ivy slumped back against the cabinet doors. “What land have I fallen into?”
Erin extended her arms wide. “Why a land filled with faeries, leprechauns, and Irish people with the gift of sight.”
Ivy rolled her eyes. “A strange land… this Ireland.”
Both women burst out in hysterical laughter.
---
To undo a injustice, he stood the risk of losing the one woman who had captured his heart.
---
There are those who say fairytales do not exist.

Mary Morgan has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I adore her lyrical, vivid writing, the Celtic mythology and the enchanting otherworldly element that she interweaves into her stories. If you enjoy breathtaking fairytale romances with amazing characters and beautiful settings, I would encourage you to check out Quest of a Warrior. Next up is Rory’s story in Oath of a Warrior… coming soon!!!!! I can't wait to read it!

DNF @Chapter 12. There are 34 chapters + an epilogue.

I really do believe the plot has a great potential to be such a great story. No kidding. A Fae warrior who was punished because of a mistake he did long ago causing mess in a human's life and then he was sentenced to help a certain human's life to find her true identity. It was amazing.

But the story felt drag making it a hard chore to read. I know I'm not even half yet but I can't take it anymore. The introduction took at least nine chapters, before the MCs met. for me, there were too unnecessary scenes and infos that the story could do without. A little history of why Ivy didn't know about his uncle who left her an inheritance (the reason why she's in Ireland), was enough. A little history about Conn's case and mistake was enough but Oh God, everything was sooooo long. What the hell do I care about why a certain bar named seven swans. Or why on earth a debate between pub customers have to do with Ivy and Conn's story. These aren't the only scenes I got a problem with. There are just too many unnecessary parts that bored me to death.

And Ivy seemed to be always laughing, giggling, trying not to laugh and usually because she knows the guy she's talking to is either flirting with her, hitting on her or obviously interested in her. Ugh!!!

I actually wanted to stop reading earlier than chapter 12 but I waited till the MCs met, I ahd to give the book a benefit of the doubt. I thought maybe once they met, it will be fine. I was wrong. It was corny, nothing new. The conversations, even the internal dialogues are boring and a little cliche. Forgive me if I don't find this novel likeable. to be fair, after chapter 12 I still try skipping and skimming through the pages until the end to see if somehow the scenes were improved or at least the way they were written. They weren't so I needed to DNF it.

Maybe it will really get better but I think I don't have the motivation to go on. Hopefully the next book are way better. I really like the plot. I love Faes and human's love stories. :) :)

*I got this book from netgalley long ago but didn't downloaded it. It was too late when i realized it, it was already archived...I didn't know why I didn't download it sooner. :) Thank you Netgalley and publishers...

I met Mary Morgan at the Pleasanton Highland Games in 2017. Had a lovely conversation with her about her books, Scottish and Irish mythology, and Twilight. There are dragons in her stories so of course I bought all I could. So finally a year and half later I read one - Quest of a Warrior, Legends of the Fenian Warriors, Book 1.

Very enjoyable read. Not easy to stop reading and attend to sleep or other things. Good descriptions with enough detail to get clear picture in mind. There are things to be discovered and mysteries to be solved. There is passion and confusion. And being a romance novel there is love.

Ivy inherits her uncle's bookstore in Ireland with some conditions. She didn't know she had an uncle, so she is a bit confused with the welcome she gets as the town folk know her. She gets some help from the pub's owners. And then Conn arrives as handy man to fix up the cottage home that comes with the bookstore. There is trouble from a neighbor that wants the land and bookstore. Some secrets are revealed, misunderstandings and consequences happen. Figured there would be an happy ever after ending, but rocky road to get there. I look forward to reading her other books.

I'm moving and read this one first as I couldn't find the Dragon Knight books. I will reread after finish the Dragon Knight books.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!

The cover is what intrigued me!!

This is the first book in a new series that I think may be a spin-off of the Dragon Knights series, but it is my first time reading Mary’s work. This is a book for adults.

I really like both Ivy and Conn! Conn has a sense of duty and loyalty that I love! I love the mix of Warrior and Fae who helps mankind. Ivy goes to Ireland knowing nothing of the person who has left her an inheritance. She loves solving mysteries, and there seems to be a lot of secrets surrounding her family that she is unaware of. I love all the mystery, and the family like environment portrayed in the little Irish town. There were a few slow parts which is generally part of a new series when the details of the world are presented. The mix of romance and mystery was great, and there was a bit of action too. I really enjoyed reading especially the 2nd half of the book where it picked up, and I didn’t want to put the book down.

I enjoyed the world created by Mary especially how the Fae are depicted because it was wonderful and magical. I will definitely check out her other books when I can.

I recommend to paranormal fans who love the Fae, magic, love, warriors, and mysteries!

Conn MacRoich is a Fenian is a prince by birth and also a warrior who’s been guarding the realm between mortal and Fae for thousands of years. His deeds are legendary, but now he’s in trouble. Ivy O’Callaghan inherits her uncle’s book store and estate in Ireland from an uncle she never knew existed. She has no ties left since both of her parents have died and she decides to head to Ireland for a new beginning. She finds many mysteries involving her own past and her own destiny and she encounters a mysterious stranger to help her in Ireland. Their relationship developed over time, especially as Conn had to reveal is true past slowly to a female of the human race. Conn knew right away that he wanted to be with Ivy and was going to protect her at all costs. He knew Ivy could have the power over him to bring this ancient warrior to his knees. A great story with filled with mystery and secrets that could destroy and separate them forever.
This is my honest opinion of the EBook I voluntarily read for net Galley and the publisher.

*SIGH* I loved Conn and Ivy’s story. I always get weird with books that I deem important to me. I wait forever to read them out of fear or disappointment I suppose. I usually always get mad at myself for doing so, yet I do it over and over again. This book was important to me. And it did not disappoint! I’ve loved Conn since the first Dragon Knights book and always hoped he would get his HEA. This book can be read as a stand alone IMO but you would be ten times better off starting with the Order of Dragon Knights series, the first being Dragon Knights Sword. The characters Are all so amazing and the love is just spectacular. Big alpha men, and kickass women....(my fav!) family love, historical yet contemporary, with a bit of time travel thrown in, and a bit of magic ;)Though this book was different with the time travel than the Dragon Knights were. I loved it. Can’t wait for the next awesome adventure from the awesome Mary Morgan.

Quest of a warrior

Omg I loved this book, I simply couldn't put it down. This is the kind of story you just get lost in. Set in an idyllic little town in Ireland it sets an amazing scene that captures the heart and soul of the reader, with characters you want to get to know and legends we all talked of as children in a setting that allows you to live them as an adult.
Based on stories of the fae this book is a work of art that must contain some sort of magic you pick it up and the world around you just disappears taking time along with it. If you like paranormal romance books then this is a must read.
I really hope the next book is on the way.

Conn MacRoich is a Fenian warrior. He gave up his rights as heir to the Fae throne to serve as a warrior, but now he is in trouble. He broke the rules when he closed the gate between the realms. Now he waits to see what his punishment will be.
Ivy O'Callaghan has inherited property from an uncle in Ireland. She was brought up in America with no knowledge this uncle even existed. Ivy has had visions of the past and the future all her life, but has always hidden them as much as possible. Coming to Ireland, where they believe in all things magical will make a huge difference to her life.
This is connected to the Dragon Knights series, but you could very easily read it as a stand alone.
Lots of magical fun with our frustrated hero desperately trying to keep his mind on the quest he must fulfill. Our heroine has to face a town full of people who know all about her from a man she never knew. This can be very emotional at times. You will definitely need the tissues near the end. I loved every page of this and can't wait until the next one.

Prepare to laugh, cry and fall in love! There wasn't a moment, while reading this book, that I didn't feel a connection to all the characters. I felt their pain and joy, their confusion and relief....It is a story about love, loss and forgiveness. Conn totally captured my heart as did Ivy. I found myself becoming so completely involved in the story that I just refused to accept the fact that there could be anything but a happy ending. This will be a book I will pick up again and again and will recommend it to everyone I can. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Mary Morgan is an insightful and brilliant storyteller and will keep you captivated from start to finish. 6 Stars for this wonderful story!

What would you sacrifice for love?

Ivy O'Callaghan has spent her life hidden in the shadows. But now it is a time for a new start, so when she learns that she has inherited her uncle's estate, she jumps on a plane and heads to Ireland.

Conn MacRoich, an ancient Fenian Warrior, has come to fix a mistake that he made hundreds of years ago. What he didn't count on was falling in love with a human. But there is something about Ivy that draws him in and makes him long for things that a Fenian Warrior has no right to long for.

Caught between two worlds, Conn must decide between his people and the woman he loves.

I was so looking forward to Mary Morgan's new Fenian Warriors series, and Quest Of A Warrior did not disappoint. The story is heartbreakingly romantic and beautifully portrayed. It is a real page turner that I simply could not put down.

I loved the portrayal of Conn. He really struggles with what he wants and what is right. He knows that he should not let himself fall in love with Ivy because in his world they have no future. He should walk away from her before it is too late. But love is not always rational and Conn goes on an incredibly emotional journey of discovery. Likewise, Ivy came across as very real in the telling. She is a really likeable person who is more than a match for the Fenian Warrior.

The story itself is full of intrigue and secrets as well as love. I thought it was a very moving story and it is one I will definitely be coming back to. I cannot wait for Book 2. Kudos, Ms Morgan.

I Highly Recommend.

First book in this new series deals with Fenian Warrior Conn McRoich from the Dragon Knights series. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time. This time however, Conn is stripped of most of his powers. He must embark on a mission to correct a mistake he was responsible for. His quest takes him to modern day Ireland where he meets up with Ivy Kathleen. What he didn't plan on was love striking him so hard that he was willing to give up his happiness for the rest of his days so she could live.

Ivy O’Callagan inherits an estate from an uncle she never knew. But the town in Ireland certainly knew her from letters her uncle shared with the town that were sent by Ivy’s mother. From the moment Ivy met Conn she knew he was something special.

Ms. Morgan’s descriptions make the story come alive, especially the little Irish town. Her characters take you along for their ride, evoking emotion whether it’s joy or sorrow. A mix of romance and mystery kept me turning pages until the end. Well done, Mary Morgan! I look forward to the next book in the Fae Legends.

A magical journey

Quest of a Warrior is book one in this series. If you read Mary's Dragon Knight series then you are already familiar with Fenian warriors, if you haven't you don't need to read them first.
Conn MacRoigh is one of the oldest and most powerful fenian warriors, he has been in a period of reflection (Fae prison) since he abused his power (according to the Fae council) but at the time Conn felt he had no choice.
Conn has been given a quest to right a wrong he made many years ago. Conn must complete this gaslight his Fae magic and without the help of his fenian brothers. Conn is quite confident of his success then everything will go back to normal.
Ivy Kathleen O'Callaghann was born in Ireland but moved to the United States when she was a baby. Ivy was born with the gift of sight and has tried hard to hide it from people who judge those who are different. Ivy received notification that an uncle she never knew past away and left her his estate so she packed up and moved to Ireland. Ivy soon finds out that her life has been shroud in lies.
Conns 's quest is to help Ivy come out of the shadows into the light. What he doesn't expect is how is heart and soul responds to Ivy, she makes him loose all sense.

Quest of a Warrior

I love Mary Morgan's stories. I have read all of them and have never been disappointed in reading them. The only bad thing about her stories is that I never want them to end and that I can't wait until her next book comes out which seems like forever before it does. I hope you will enjoy reading this book as much as I did.

I just loved this story. I had wondered if Conn would get his own story. My, oh, my... Such a virile man. Such passion, and secrets that need to be told. I was so enthralled in his story and how he was trying very hard not to get emotionally attached to Ivy.
I loved how enduring je was and the emotions they both had for each other, so overwhelming attachment.

It is so intense. Stripped of his powers by the Fae, he must now go to the human realm and fix what he had done so many century's ago. I stayed up till wee hours of the night reading this, I would turn off my light close my eyes, tossed and turned lol and had to go back and read some more, until I finished.

Oh yes, it is that good.

Ivy, had dark secrets, and was not wanting to share them with anyone, and then she finds out some secrets that had her wondering why. Tested to her limits when she go to Ireland and finds she has no choice but to stay. Threats are upon her, things she loves are destroyed and Conn is there to protect her.

I just just loved it, and can't wait till the next one comes out. Mary Morgan has a way of enveloping you into her stories and the awe of them is just so awe-inspiring.

I felt like I was watching from a window as if I was a voyeur, waiting for what will transpire next..

I recently discovered this author, and, when I read the blurb of the new book in this series, I knew I needed to read book one first. Quest of a Warrior was good, and I would have given it five stars but the authors made it seem as if the guy who was stalking Ivy had some big secret to reveal. It felt as if that was placed in the story as a filler. Other than that, everything else flowed nicely. I'm intrigued enough to continue with book two of the series, and I hope the author will write a story for Jamie and Sorcha.

Conn MacRoich is a fae warrior and also by birth a prince. Yet he gave up his title to be part of the Brotherhood. But he made some mistakes and now has to pay for them by convincing a woman the light of her gift before they both die and he must do it without any of his own powers.

Ivy O'Callaghan has just inherited a bookstore and property from her uncle in Ireland. She has never met him before and doesn't understand why he left everything to her. Both of her parents have died and she decides to head to Ireland for a new beginning.

But when Ivy arrives in Ireland she is faced with many mysteries involving her own past and her own destiny. Will she be able to come to terms with everything she is faced with?

I really enjoyed this book and it was much more than I was expecting.

There were so many twists involving Ivy's past and everything fell into place and made perfect sense and didn't seem overdone. Ivy had visions from a young age and it was interesting that her mom understood them but needed her to keep them a secret from her dad. Personally I loved that she inherited a bookstore from her uncle and I wish I was that lucky! She had so much to deal with that I can understand why she felt overwhelmed with all the news she received.

Conn was great! I loved how he knew right away that he wanted to be with Ivy and was going to protect her at all costs. Yet he had to be careful as to not reveal too much right away and frighten her away. Yet when it came to saving her life he was willing to do whatever it took - no matter what the cost was to him.

I loved the interesting characters that Ivy became friends with in Ireland and how everyone brought something different to their respective friendships with Ivy.

The ending was great and I look forward to more books in this series!

Well over 5 Stars! Mary Morgan has done it again! The is an exceptionally well written story. It kept me always in the moment and at attention. This is a new series for this author - Legends of The Fennian Warriors.

This is Conn MacRoich's tale. This is a new series for this author - Legends of The Fennian Warriors. I am so excited about this new series.
Conn, has been in several of the stories in The Dragon Knight's series.

Conn is a legendary Fennian Warrior, who has been waiting to know his fate and punishment for bending the rules of the Fae Council and their King when he assisted the Dragon Knights in going up against evil. There are to be consequences for those actions. The Council go over his he past deeds and show him how a mistake, he unknowingly made, has altered a young woman's destiny. Conn had helped the wrong woman. The Council is now sending him back to the human world, present day, without his Fennian magic in order to change the timeline of the woman he failed. He has been given this final quest to help another. He cannot fail. This woman will definetley bring Conn to his knees.

Ivy Kathleen O'Callaghan has inherited from her Uncle property and a book store in Ireland. There are stipulations and she has determined to follow through with all of them. Repairs need to be made and she meets a very intriguing and handsome man, Conn MacRoich.

This story was so, so very good!! There is a lot of passion and drive. It is a Race Against Time to right the wrongs of the past. I just Loved it!

Conn is one of three Fennian Warriors who assisted The Dragon Knight's. So, I really look forward to reading the next stories in this series.
